We did and Anderson looked awful. Joe was literally carrying dead weight at time and I am saying this as someone who thought Anderson was going to be someone in this company. Nice finish though.

I'm hoping they are trying to make everyone believe that Bully is going to turn and go a different way. Just pray that way isn't Hogan or Jarrett. Hell maybe Park, or hell even a guy like Aries as dumb as that sounds. I mean Bully is already a heel so what is the point of him being behind it.

For me a face going heel is the way to go...maybe even a high to mid level face not quite at the World Title level but a guy they think can be at that level.

But who would that be? If it had to be someone, I'd prefer it to be a "homegrown" talent. Problem is, there's no 1 who fits the bill at the moment, in terms of babyfaces

Aries/Hardy 'heel turn' ending was extremely extremely forced and rushed. Good lord.

I get looking for additional ppv buys, but it came across like someone said last minute "Hey Austin, run out there and turn heel".

Solid Impact. Hope we get a Sting turn this Sunday The Bully turn seems too obvious.

It felt a bit like they were trying to recapture a bit of the Punk/Cena dynamic of late, but I really can't blame them. The more-legitimate bitter guy against the management-backed merch-selling face is a great angle, and the players are different enough that it stands on its own.

Yep seems like that's exactly what they're doing.

Really wish we got Beer Money vs. Aries/Hardy tonight.

The turn didn't feel it had as much impact as it could have. Just felt extremely rushed at last minute.

I don't mind heel Aries at all. Just not a big fan of how they quickly executed everything in <5 minutes against the clock heading into the PPV. Just felt really forced in going with the traditional heel vs. face at last second.

After watching last night, the thing that stood out to me the most is just how momentum Aries lost by winning the title. His title reign has really not been very good.

Solid matches but his character has been de-emphasized due to Aces & 8s and the conclusion of BFG Series, which is ironic since they're building up a contender to face said champ. Objectively, I hope they don't take the title from Aries.

Plus, Sting to be the leader of Aces & 8s would be cool if not for the fact that Sting just can't be a true heel. His last "heel" run turned out not to be a real heel run as he was right about Hogan's deception. His time with the Main Event Mafia he was a tweener at most. In WCW he joined up with the nWo, and the fans loved it. There is nothing he can do to get booed.

I disagree with everyone's opinion of Aries' turn seeming too rushed and out of place... it was SUPPOSED to seem rushed and out of place because it was being portrayed as him going out there against their wishes and saying stuff he wasn't supposed to say. I LOVED the comment about "they're too busy making Jeff Hardy videos" because the guy had a new "my last chance" type video every week. I also loved Aries' comment about Jeff being catered to and given so many chances, a thinly veiled shot at what Cewsh himself has spoken out against (Hardy's continued push). I also dug how Aries shot down the "I'm jealous of your success" storyline that made him look like a guy who didn't respect his OWN success and instead was envious of someone else's.

Did the "shoot" come off a bit forced in the wake of CM Punk? Yes. Did it come across well and further hype the BFG main event even more? I think it did, which means it did it's job.

Let's not forget Sting's failed Heel turn in WCW in 1999 when won the Title from Hogan with help from Luger.

Impact was decent this week and IMO their best one in a long time. They did a good job of hyping BFG though I didn't like the Aries thing as it felt like a CM Punk Respect thing.

TNA/Devon did a great job playing it up Devon was gone on Twitter. (With Hogan kissing his ass) I have no issue he was the reveal (given they've established he's not the head)

Would revealing it were Masters / Gallows really done much?? And Briscoe isn't established enough for anyone to give a fuck. (Better off having him randomly attacking Kurt Angle)

I think the big reveal would be better off being Garrett Bischoff than Jeff Jarrett. I pray that they don't ruin this whole big angle ....for Jeff fucking Jarrett. ,The company has made such huge strides. And a big part of that is moving away from Jeff Jarrett. If he's with TNA, he belongs in a backstage, off camera role.

Yeah, I have no issue with it as well. Maybe at the PPV when the majority thought he was the guy it was a bit of a let down but they made it clear tonight he's the "Sgt. at Arms" and that he's not the main guy. My only real issue is that it's been since June and we only have one member revealed... it's dragging, but only a bit. I still wonder what's the alternative... you reveal more guys, and then what? And how do you make the eventual reveal impactful? I don't think I'd mind if it was played off as a sort of Outsiders type thing, acknowledging guys like Masters and Knox and Gallows "came from up there". I did notice Garrett Bischoff out fighting them off to close the show so I'm not so sure he'd be revealed as a member, but who knows?

I notice this Impact preview also includes a preview for Turning Point that says "the truth will finally be revealed", so maybe we won't have to wait much longer:

I like that they have a face now, Devon was the insider. I don't know if the group will ever be fully revealed, the leader - yes, insider - yes. But to me there is no need to really reveal them, hired faceless thugs. The. When a&8 is finished some of these guys can be quickly and easily repackaged.

I agree. They don't have to reveal them all. I figure Briscoe will eventually revealed by Angle. I'm fine if we never see the rest (Gallows/Masters/etc...).

And I really think Garrett Bischoff will play a prominent role and revealed (storyline being him following in father's footsteps with rebellious outsider group ...plus how close he and Devon were the last several months). He needs some work in the ring obviously, but I think he's got the ability to be a very good heel.

Aries diss at the Impact fans was great as well as his entire promo. I like Devon in the Sgt at Arms role instead of the leader. ODB/Tara is a better option than most in the KO division.

Turned it on 5 minutes late, was weirded out not to hear Tenay/Taz.

Just don't buy Chavo as a babyface, and don't like they have to go with the "they're probably illegals" route either.

Just tuned in during Joe/Rob Terry and thought the same. No Taz, No Tenay.

I know one of them is JB. Don't recognize voice of the other.

JB just sounds like he's cutting a backstage segment calling the match. I'm sure he'll adjust (if this is long term)

I remember Matthews...but I dont, someone give me a reminder. Also, wow I figured the gut check would be younger guys. York is decent, not sure they can do much with him at this point in his career though.

EDIT: Oh year, Mercury. Damn, my mind is gone tonight. None the less show has been enjoyable tonight.

Solid Impact. Great match between Angle & Hardy.

Loved the Angle attack at end with Brisco/Bischoff making save.

    Sarcasm for sarcasm? That's cool.

In fairness I never implied that the reaction on this forum represents an accurate indicator of interest in TNA Wrestling and Aces & Eights. My remark was more in context to the amount of traffic the Raw threads get Monday night. Admittedly, that makes me a hypocrite as I get annoyed when fans unimaginatively compare TNA Wrestling and WWE. Ultimately though my comment was just goofing around in good fun, nothing to take really serious.

Great match between Roode and AJ.
A&8 are such a blatant rip off of SOA but I dig it.
Interesting that Gallows/DOC is only a Prospect.
I'm intrigued as to what "the ancient evil awakens" promois all about. Is Rellik coming back!?
I just hate whenever Hulk is involved in anything about the show though. Bored of him and his lingo. He and Parks are chatting now.

Thats as far as I am; may watch the rest tomo. But so far so good.

    Didn't even think of Abyss!
Just as long as it's not Judas Messias or Rellik.

I'm such a sucker for these - loved Jericho's second one (third one?) with the school/playground swing.
And the Taker one with the cabin in the rain (and then TNA blatantly ripped it off for Sting! ha!)

Taker in the cabin promos were brilliant. The speculation and rumours make these so good.

i just youtubed "an ancient evil awakens" and a whole bunch of Halo 4 stuff came up. Is it possible that this is just some kind of video game advertisement thingo?

Hmm, "An Ancient Evil Awakens" is the tagline for Halo 4, which just came out.

Some kind of tie in is in no way out of the question. Hell, they made a wrestling character out of a video game character once before. But it was probably just an ad.

There's a logo of sorts in the background when the line comes up in the teaser...just need to confirm if that thing's in the game somewhere.

It looks like an A and a C or something, while the style is quite 'Halo-esqe'

Maste Chief walks to the ring and shoots the crap out of A&8...?

It's quite gamey, I could see it being tagged on a wall in a futuristic shooter but I still say it looks like an A/C which I can't think of a link too...

Since this is TNA I'm leaning towards Mitchell since they havn't used him in a while now.

I hope the Hogans (or Bischoff) don't become the storylines again.

TNA became more interesting to me when Bischoff and Hogan stopped hogging camera time. (Particularly Hogan preaching to the audience how great TNA was and how they're going to a whole 'nother level brother). Now the in ring action and angles speak for themselves.e

I like Roode, but just seems like a rehash of last year with him screwing Storm. Unbelievable that Daniels/AJ is STILL going on. (They've been involved with each other for well over a year now). I found Kaz's statement AJ's stale to be 100% the truth. He's really just become a directionless guy. That Claire angle was one of the worst in years in wrestling period. He's really just been bypassed by better talkers/characters (A Double/Roode) for the main event picture. I really think this 'no title shots' for a year could be real good for him. I'm just not sure how far heel AJ can go (unless you put him in a group with a talker -- i.e Daniels,etc...)

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read Daniels/Kaz were coming out to confront AJ yet again. They've had how many "final" battles now? Must be at least 4. No wonder AJ is stale.

If they do turn him heel they need it to really impact on everything about him - refusing to do high flying moves to please the fans etc, new music (until they turn him back) etc. It's a gamble, but it could do wonders.

Personally, I've liked his heel stuff in the past - just not the Flair run. His stuff with Christian was hilarious.

I thought his heel stuff was great along Christian. Was ok along with Flair (wasn't a fan of the frosted hair thing...I think the 'Little Naitch' thing was tired with Charles Robinson too lol). They tired too hard to make AJ their Ric Flair. He just didn't look the part of a guy in a suit IMO.

Like Christian and with Flair, I think AJ will need to be placed with someone to do a lot of the talking. Like Jeff Hardy, they just aren't convincing heels when they get on the mic.

If they had to do a final Daniels/AJ match, make it a match putting Daniels's career vs. AJ joining forces with Daniels/Kaz. (Or something like that)

So....Aries is now stuck in the Bully/Brooke thing. On the positive note at least Bully/Austin have a nice chemistry in the ring.

AJ Styles is renown for his in-ring technique, not his microphone skills or the angles that he's placed into. He's quite simply, a fantastic wrestler who only seems to get better (despite getting slower) with age. It's baffling that they are trying to put a round peg into a square hole, but there's lots of booking faux pas that make one scratch their brain. You can understand TNA hoping that AJ's charisma would translate across to backstage segments and the like, but there's got to come a time where they need to throw their hands up in the air and simply have him wrestle fun matches without getting bogged down by Jerry Springer storylines.

Because you know, I really needed your validation and appraisal.

Go find someone else to encourage condescendingly. I'll be just fine without someone trying to hold onto my dick thanks.

Anyway, as much as I cringe thinking Brooke Hogan's in the Main Event, Bully's reactions were priceless and while it's preferable that he's not in the midst of a poor angle, if he carries this well enough, creative may see him fit as someone who can hold the top belt. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd look forward to Stuttering Bubba Ray Dudley being the World Champion...
