Just to clarify the rules, any player is available to be taken, just understand that those with Euro picks can take anyone who has already been picked from europe if they so wish from a manager who doesnt have a Euro pick. If that makes sense...

    Sorted.

Oh and can you all do me a favour and post your ongoing squads as you draft as its easier to copy and paste them in to the squad list. I do understand that some people will be making picks on mobiles etc though so its not a rule just a request.

Have we confirmed that if the forums go down we'll be using the Twitter RFF Feed to whack our teams in?

Torn, you could have picked your player in May.

But I'm not going to start a flurry of draft activity without an official start!

I have to wait until 35 players are taken before picking my first player? I should have read the rules before signing up to this bollocks.

With the first overall pick of the 2012/13 RFF Draft, Fiorentorna selects:

Being able to keep Rooney next year is huge. This year there is definitely more than just 7 top quality European players as well so I'm not worried about missing out there, so I can hopefully combine a top European player later on with Rooney. And I've won with Ronaldo and Messi in consecutive years so I wanted to try with something different.

We used to have two keepers when you were playing before so by the time someone down the bottom of the list had a pick 60+ players would have been gone.

The annoying part about picking Rooney first is that it lets a cheat player fall to BC in third. Although BCWROGS will probably tell him to pick Cliff Akurang.

Exactly. I gave up in that season because I thought it was a ludicrous decision. Never mind. I will finish above your shithouse team again. Even if I have to pull out the 36th most popular pick as my main striker I'll give it a go just to shut your boring cheating dogshit great-game-ruining face up.

Shaw is a very good pick according to BCWROGS, he is rated fifth. In fact here are the players in the top ten who have gone so far:

    1. Messi
    2. Ronaldo
    3. ???
    4. ???
    5. Jon Shaw
    6. ???
    7. ???
    8. ???
    9. ???
    10. ???

I'll make my pick within an hour. I've done no research, so want a quick scout around before I make a pick.

(Also, for information, how long do I actually have for my pick?)

I would prefer if I got my pick tonight...

The 12 hour thing is realistically for people who are working etc to cover any lack of access. Its not a rule where we can walk in and say "ok ill make my pick tomorrow" coz thats annoying.

    Mario Gomez (Bayern Munich)

No-one domestically stands out, and this'll give me a bit of time to actually look at what's around in the UK.

60 goals in two seasons probably had something to do with it. Now playing for the favourites for the Conference as opposed to a midtable side as well.

As I said the other day, I thought the first five picks were no-brainers, personally. I know from speaking to Alex yesterday that he thinks I've over-rated Shaw but I settled on him as my pick weeks ago and am happy enough with how it has turned out.

As I said the other day, I thought the first five picks were no-brainers, personally. I know from speaking to Alex yesterday that he thinks I've over-rated Shaw but I settled on him as my pick weeks ago and am happy enough with how it has turned out.
I dont think he is overated but its a slightly risky one with him moving to a new team and Luton having other good options. If you wanted him though there was no way he would be available by the time it was your next turn so I reckon thats justification enough.

I don't think you've overrated Shaw. I was just urging caution because he's had injuries in the past and he hasn't played in either of Luton's pre-season friendlies. He's also struggled with a move before too.

If he clicks though then you've got a goalscorer on your hands.

Still a top scorer last year dropping down a division could pay off well for you. You are turning into my team from last year there....

My pick coming in a moment.

    That's what I meant.

Had I thought again I'd have probably gone for Beavon.

haha, I didn't realise you had him.

This morning he wasn't going to be my pick but I had a crisis of confidence and abandoned my previous pick. I saw him play last year and he's a top top player. If he stays at Wycombe then happy days but more likely he'll end up at Preston or Sheffield United who I expect to compete at the right end of League One and neither have any decent strikers.

I've never had a good first round pick (has anyone?) so I don't think there's that much pressure on it, gone for a gamble.

Jon Shaw is stepping today into boots previously worn by Danny Graham (2 goals), Leon Constantine (0 goals) and Lee Barnard (0 goals).

Matt Tubbs last year got me 12 before he got sold in January. He was by far my best no.1 pick ever and even he was only good for half a season.

With their first round pick of the 2012/13 RFF draft FC Mighto Molly Hollyhock pick....

    Nikica Jelavic (Everton)

Maybe a slight heart over head pick there but I had my sights set on him from the start so part 1 of my 8 part plan is complete.

I've had Justin Richards, Ismael Miller, Mark Burchill and James Constable. They all failed and got dropped except Constable who failed and took me 3/4 of the season to drop.

Balls, I was going to welcome him home to Brazil Nuts after an 18 month loan to Christopherson. Good pick

His ability to play on the wing worried me as did the fact that Charlton were linked with him. But then again Charlton are linked with everybody.

I literally changed my mind about 100 times last night on who to keep.

Ha cheers. I have decided to make a record like that of every player I sign this year and see where it takes me.

I was worried you were going to take Jelavic and then I would have had to change the image!

I'm going to wait until it comes around towards me again before I start refining my list. There's just no point at this stage with 15 odd good players to be taken before it's back on me.

He was in the second category on my list, mainly because of the play every week thing. He's a good safe pick I think, most of the players at the top of my list have moved club, division so it's probably wiser to pick someone with something of a proven track record.

I meant absolutely nothing against Jon Shaw, as I actually toyed with the idea of picking him myself, but I just wanted BC to explain the "science" behind his rankings because the facts say both Hooper and Rooney have a better goals/game ratio than Shaw over the past two seasons. And you know how much I love my facts.

I can vaguely remember BC explaining it all before, but I'd love to read it again.

Yeah it helps that he is at my club of course too so ill know when he is playing or not. The way we set up too I genuinely expect him to score every goal we score next year!

Im at that horrible point now where I have a few players who could be brilliant but may be awful too on my list.

Yeah, I'm just leaving my list as it is until my next pick is fairly imminent.

My list is in tiers and I have just five players in the second tier for my next pick, none of which have gone yet, although there's a long way to go yet.

I'm already getting excited about drafting long shots, punts and risks. I don't think that's ever going to change. Fuck 15 goal a season Championship strikers, I'm going for obscure Scottish players and random English league players I've never heard of.

    .
It's just a spreadsheet with a formula to work out an expected number of goals. It works fairly well, I had a good draft last year, but sadly I lost last year's spreadsheet so I can't check how accurate it was.
