You can't deny that given their recent form backing Norwich made sense...

    Only kidding, mate.

Aye, I thought Norwich were a good thing too going on recent form. Just wish I'd listened a bit more to my gut feeling, as I thought it was a bit dodgy considering Bury had just lost their manager. I should have gone with WBA instead, like I was going to... although that one's not over yet.

Ah well, there's always the weekend to make amends.

Actually, I'm glad I ended up going with Norwich instead of WBA. I would have been fuming. There's nothing worse than a last minute goal fucking your bet up.

    I've won about £25. Yay!

Anyone want to take me on in a betting challenge over the next few weeks. Start with £50, whoever finishes with the most wins. Could be a laff.

West Hams ridiculous injury list and shit performance at Villa Park this season persuaded me to back Citeh.

I went for PSG purely on the strength of Valenciennes away form. Didn't realise Paris' home form's just as bad. They did win their last home game 3 - 0 though...

Have a look at what price Nice/AS Nancy draw, St Etienne, Auxerre and Marseille are at the weekend. They should all be very good odds, and one or two of them could add some good value to an accumulator, much like Valenciennes did.

See what I mean about Valenciennes, though? It's weird how a team can play so well at home, and I mean really well, as I've watched them a few times, yet be so poor on their travels.

Yeah, I had a look to see how you did. I couldn't find Inter's score, though. How did they do?

You were right to go with Man City, too. Although Elano is in my Dream Team, so I'm not too bothered

I know Milan's away form is much, much better than their home form, but they're still absolutely shite - no where near the kind of team they used to be.

Catania, however, have seemingly got a cracking home record. They've only conceded five goals in nine league games, and even the likes of Juventus needed a ninetieth minute penalty to nick a point at the weekend against them...

I know it's easy with hindsight, though...

It wasn't a great bet. I'd looked at Milan a few days ago so I knew their away record was good and I thought they'd kick on after that 5 - 2 mauling of Empoli. Must admit all the Pato love suckered me in a bit too.

It was about as sensible a bet as PSG Valenciennes. Just the way it goes really...

Gone for a few strange bets this week.

First off, a 7-team accumulator for a quid:

Then I've gone for 4 strikers to score first in their games - 50p on each, and 6 doubles at 50p each:

Then purely as an experiment, 50p on each scoreline in the EPL - I've foolishly gone with Lawrenson's predictions:

£10 overall at stake. I don't expect anything to come off.

What's your bets for the weekend Pablo? I'm unsure of mine at the mo, thinking of doing a couple of £20 4-folds involving Man Utd and Arsenal as my bankers. Probably along with MK Dons, WBA, Peterborough and Carlisle split up between them.

    Marseille (v Valenciennes)
    Lyon (at Lens)
    Rochdale (v Bradford)
    Mk DOns (at Wrexham)
    Swansea (Port Vale)

    £10 returns £139.59

Rangers, Arsenal, Chelsea, Juventus, Newcastle, Portsmouth £10 = £150ish

Nottm Forest, Gillingham, West Brom, Tottenham £10 = £120ish

L Orient, Stoke, Swansea, Hartlepool, QPR £10 = £145 ish

Betfair is fantastic in that all the odds seem to better. But it's fucking shit in that you can't just build your own accumulator, you have to do it from selected markets. If I'd been able to do that first lot on betfair I'd be looking at a much bigger return.

To add a selection to your multiple bet, the selection must be included in a market which belongs to a multiples group. Multiples groups contain a range of markets, for example, a set of weekend Premiership games or a round of matches within a tennis tournament.

You've got to be really careful at the moment if you're having a bet, as there are obviously a lot of clubs signing new players - like Wrexham, for example, who have made their eighth signing today.

£25 for £210. It's a free £25 bet I have, so I'm not too bothered if it doesn't come up. I think it's got a really good chance, though. All home teams too, which I like.

    BetDaq.co.uk - it's a lot like BetFair

If you're going to sign up to them, go through this link: http://www.betdaqaffiliates.com/offer/daily_dnky.html - otherwise you won't get your free bet.

I've got a 997-1 accumulator on the go today ahahaha

    Man United -1
    Blackpool
    QPR
    Stoke
    Swansea
    Oldham
    Morecambe
    Darlington
    Grimsby

I honestly think it's a got a good chance of coming up. It's more than worth the £3 I've stuck on it...

I've got the same bet again but without United at something like 575/1.

Also damn the media for convincing me 'the Keegan effect' would negate the fact that Newcastle are fucking shite. Bollocks.

Newcastle will be the ones to fuck me over. Liverpool will win on Monday too to rub salt in the wounds.

However Newcastle are an absolute abomination of a team.

Barca are the fifth wheel in my accumulator today, and so far it's gone well (with wins for Everton, Rangers, Ghana and Real Madrid) - just need Barca to produce the goods to net me £40.

Put on £45.50 worth of bets on Friday, getting about £35/£40 back. West Brom and MK Dons were the ones who let me down, but had a £15 acc with Chelsea, Carlisle and Peterborough. Barnet/Peterborough was called off which explains the poor returns.

Lost my slip on Friday night too but that's all sorted now. Gotta go back in tomorrow.

    Portsmouth vs Plymouth - 4/11
    Southampton vs Bury - 1/3
    Arsenal vs Newcastle - 4/11

    £41 = £101.65

Can't see any of them slipping up.

Bollocks. Newcastle are still shit, and Arsenal will be angry.

I haven't put it on yet, but I intend to. Southampton have just lost their manager, but Bury are crap. If Pompey don't beat Plymouth I'll jump off a cliff.

I've got Boro, Pompey, Leeds and Southampton. £25 pays £110 ish.

    No it's not part of our competition I just had to deposit £25 to get a free bet. Which I used on;

Boro, Leeds, W Brom, Coventry, Chelsea and Pompey free £25 returns £336

OK. I can see Millwall getting a draw at Cov and Oldham have only won twice at home all season. So that one's a bit dodgy.

Also betting on Derby to beat anyone at all is a risk.

Will probably replace Oldham with Leeds then. Derby should theoretically be on a high as they didn't lose their last game. Mifsud will come through for me too.

Never betting on an Arsenal match or I'd put us down for sure too.

I'd expect West Brom to be too good. They won there 2 - 0 in the league cup earlier this season.

My final throw of the dice in our stupid little competition thingie.

Arsenal, Pompey, Saints, Cambridge UTD. £10 returns £35.

I put £3.44 on the above with Oldham replaced by Leeds, potential winnings of £60, and the remaining 56p on Youssef Safri to score first against Guinea at 16/1.

Hate having uneven amounts in my account.

I've got £42 left. I'm putting £41 on Pompey, Scum and Arsenal. That way if one of them lose I win the comp (£1 to £0 ), if they all win I'll be sitting happily on over £100.

I'll be up to collect my "unlimited beers" sometime next month. Hopefully Pompey get an away draw at West Brom, Wolves, Coventry or Derby in the next round. All likely to get through.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's probably the luckiest I've ever been with a bet as well. PSV, who were 1/7, scored in the ninetieth minute to win 2-1, and Sevilla scored a ninetieth minute penalty to scrape a 2-1 win

I've decided putting bigger money on 2 or 3 teams is a much better tactic. I'm having much more success this way. Won three times in consecutive weeks.

Aye, that's what I do most of the time now. The only reason I didn't this weekend is because I don't fully trust the FA Cup. Sods law that I bloody won, but I'm not complaining.

Racing Santander today - 6/4 - I've stuck £40 of my winnings on them. If they win, £200 for the weekend. If they lose, I'm still £100 up. Win/win

They're at home to Real Zaragoza, and while they're quite a good team at their own ground, they're shocking on their travels. Zaragoza's away record reads won one, drew two, lost six, scored seven and conceded eighteen.

Santander, on the other hand, have a really good home record. Won six, drew two, lost one, scored eleven and conceded only four.

It's practically the same thing as when I tipped Valenciennes the other week - a team with good home form and bad away form meets a team with good home form and bad away form. You're obviously going to go with the home team in that situation. And because both teams have such similar records, you're going to get a good price for the home team.
