Pedersen, Bellamy, Tugay, Friedel.... you say it as if I wasn't correct.

    Tugay

Think that was the same season that we smashed you 6-2 and Cesc nutmegged Savage

    Great times

What a terrible result and display last night.

The Ozil situation is really odd, why would you not even have him on the bench last night? Tierney not starting was another head scratcher. Pepe needs a break to get some confidence.

The whole team looks terrified of losing the ball and that has to come from instructions from the manager. If he doesn't get us back in the CL and playing better he is toast.

Look forward to Rosk/Mik saying about Wenger in etc

You could cheer yourself up by watching Spurs tonight.

I predict a scrap, bit like Batty and Dyer back in the day.

    There we go.

For the record, even though it isn't going great with Emery - it was well past the time that Wenger should have gone when he did go.

You can see the difference off the pitch, the last two summer transfer windows have been largely excellent. We have brought in young promising players and shipped out a lot of deadwood (Mustafi aside). We just need to get McGinn now for our midfield.

I think Batty was with Sherwood. I can understand that one as well.

    Nope was Le Saux actually.

The odds on Red Star getting a result are a bit mad considering how bad we've been recently. They must be absolute dog shit.

Harry Kane needs to step it up. Should be bullying teams like this. If he wants to be a genuine captain and leader needs to drag them through a few games for real

He’s dragged them through seasons. They’ve been a one player team in denial for years. Now he’s not playing so well, they aren’t doing so well.

Don't really agree but if it's really genuinely to be his team he has to stick it on his back when things aren't going well. Good start to that yesterday he needs to continue it in the league for a bit to give the rest of them some time to find themselves and their form again.

If he really wants to be THAT LEVEL

No he doesn't. Spurs are capable of challenging and he can be the absolute top dog there.

Where else does he go that cements a real legacy? Madrid or Barca? Who knows how the fuck that would turn out?

Bayern? People would downplay anything won there same as PSG. Italy?

Unless you're suggesting he goes replace Aguero at City?

    As I've just said

Bayern - Not going to get credit for winning Bundesliga with Bayern
Barca/Real - Possible but it could eat him alive
Juventus - Winning Serie A with Juve won't get him much credit either

If he goes to City and scores as many goals but they win the league is he suddenly on another level. Don't buy it. Did Robin Van Persie go to another level when he joined United?

Go to Man Utd and win the League and he's God. Easy.

However, Manchester United are in decline.

Was Ozil booed when he played?

Xhaka has had a series of terrible displays, yet he hasn't been dropped. That is the reason there. A lot of fans understand that Ozil doesn't fit how the manager wants to play (lol) but to not even have him on the bench? Very silly.

On another point, the ref was beyond terrible yesterday. Zaha looked for the penalty and there was never any foul for the 3rd goal, absolute joke.

I think he should at least be on the bench as an option to bring on. If they can move him on and get a cheaper replacement, great but we don't have many players in his position at the moment.

I never understand how the threat of "You will keep get this giant check every week and never have to even try" is motivation for a player to leave. Is that not everyone's fantasy?

If you want someone to leave, you make them do extra work, not less. Right?

Not really. This isn't some dead end office job and even then if you want someone to leave put them in a position were they feel unfulfilled and lacking of intrinsic drive and alignment of their aspirations and their employer.

Ozil should want to play and actually be active as his career ends.

I saw Torreira has been linked with Milan. That would be a shame, he has looked very promising. Hopefully we get at least £50m+ that we can reinvest if we do sell him.
Dead weight who would make a huge difference if he could be moved on.

Manager drops him to try and send the message his time is up.

Yeah as I said earlier, if we could have moved him on and replaced him then great. As we didn't, may as well use him from the bench at least.

As I said Emery is clearly sending a message to him that he needs to move on for the sake of his career. The message isn't as strong if he's on the bench and playing regularly is it

You don't think not starting him in a team bereft of creativity is not message enough? Unfortunately we need him as an option at this stage.

Well, we have a similar situation at Spurs. We are playing Eriksen and I wish we fucking weren't. And I feel like we do have other options.

Would you expect Ozil to offer much if he was picked?

Far be it from me to compliment an Arsenal player but Guendouzi is the bollocks. Superb footballer and an absolute cynical shithouse.

Re. Xhaka I'm not sure booing him is really fair. He isn't lazy, he isn't underperforming...he just isn't very good. He works his balls off every week from what I can see, and from what I've read he is a real leader off the pitch in terms of making sure everyone understands what is expected of them. If someone gives it everything but just isn't up to scratch, boo the manager for picking him.

I think he could do something if we need a goal. We don't have a lot of creativity in midfield. Cazorla is long gone, Ramsey left and Ceballos is still settling in. I think he should be an option to come on and create something if we need a goal.

Agree, the manager should take most of the heat for it. Where Xhaka is at fault is walking off the pitch when we needed a goal, and then reacting to the fans because of it.

He is simply too slow for this league, I think he would probably do well somewhere like Italy where the pace is slower.

I would get that at 25 or if you never won anything. But Ozil has already won everything and is at the backend of his career. Personally, I would be very happy to just be collecting paychecks at his stage of career. Of course, I would also be happy to be doing at 25 and never winning anything.

I have always said to _me, the best job in all of sports in the backup GK (or backup quarterback) to a world-class player. No expectations and no pressures. Sounds pretty good…

Who’s that back up Spurs keeper? Fella was on fire.

Mad start to the season for Spurs & Arsenal to both be falling apart at the same time, funny like.

Sorry mate but no. I can discount the Man City title wins as they are basically the equivalent of a sprinter taking steroids so to me it doesn't really count.

I cannot stand your fans (exceptions here of course ) and they will be even more unbearable if you win the league. Klopp is also an annoying dickhead.

I dunno if I'm just getting old or what, but does anyone else get a little bit annoyed/sad when old records get broken? Like a little bit of my childhood has gone now that United-Ipswich is no longer the standalone biggest win of all time. I can remember exactly where I was when that game was played, it's such a vivid memory, and now it doesn't quite mean as much. Same with Fowler's hat trick against Arsenal, it was one of those things that seemed like it would stand forever, then one random lunchtime in a game I don't even remember, Mane beats it. And now that Fowler record is an irrelevance, likely to be forgotten over time as it disappears from the record books.

He brought it on himself by his own actions, which is more than justification for me. There was no need for him to stroll off when they were in that position, it's an own goal on his behalf.

The same thing happens at every ground up and down the country every week. It's more noticeable in a big stadium, and it's way more noticeable when the player digs his heels in and starts stoking the crowd when he's in the wrong.

One of them about Klopp you love him managing your team. To think you should’ve gone all out to get him when he was available.

    Our positions would be reversed.

Yeah 95-96 sounds about right. Everything up to the year Ronaldo signed, I think that's the year the beauty just began to slightly fade. I still love it obviously, but I don't look back on anything from the past 15 years or so with anything like the same fondness I have for those early years.

Is was that sweet spot of most teams still had some local lads in but also two or three foreign players and the majority of those were superstars (Bergkamp, Cantona, Zola etc). The money wasn't completely obscene, TV didn't dictate everything and ticket prices were still quite reasonable.

Also has still the greatest game in Premier League history. COLLYMOOOOOREEEEEE!

Overrated IMO, great game but not the best ever.

This one had EVERYTHING. The aggro in the tunnel before kick off. Some fabulous goals. Some dreadful defending. Silvestre going mad and headbutting Ljungberg for no reason. O'Shea scoring that goal. O'Shea acting like that goal was something he does all the time. Arsenal getting beat. Just perfect.

This one is an underrated gem as well, maybe because it was before football completely dominated the country like it did by the time of the Newcastle/Liverpool game. Some really fantastic goals.

    The last great Arsenal/United game

Even though we lost, an incredible game. The combination of Chelsea coming through and Keane and Vieria leaving diluted it.

Back in the day those games were stomach churning matches, on the day of them you could think of nothing else. As an Arsenal fan, for a decade you knew that these games would probably decide the title, there was no bigger game, not even the Derby.

After the 99 Semi Final I smashed up a garden chair at my parents house. Didn't go down well. Hard to believe I know.

My favourite Spurs game during that period was the Fa Cup game v Man City. You know the one Simon

I think thats good because this thing about he needs to apologise can go away and fuck. Cheering that he's being subbed off etc is a dick move and just shite energy for the club.

We have fans cheering Roos in a similar way when he catches the ball. Ignorant shite

He seems to be conflating people booing him off for leaving the field slowly and playing badly with trolls online who threaten his family. Pretty different really.

    Barely an apology
