    "Pure West."

I think some people underestimate how much Adam West and the 60's show had to do with making Batman a household.

A reminder that just last year, Adam West starred in an excellent animated tribute film to the 1966 Batman series...

If you haven't seen it, now is a good time...

I was at a Con a few years ago and Adam walked past me to the bathroom. A few minutes later, he came out, flipped his hair, smiled and laughed with us. That was everything to me. RIP.

That movie was way better than I expected it would be.

I think West actually finished recording his lines for the sequel with William Shatner as Two Face.

Steph Furst. Flounder from Animal House and Vir from Babylon 5 passed away Saturday. If you have not seen him as Vir in Babylon 5, you are missing some really good work of a comedy actor having a large moving story arc.

Nelsan Ellis, the actor who played Lafayette on True Blood, died over the weekend due to heart failure brought on by apparently going cold turkey on his own with alcohol. His dad said he apparently had a long history with drugs and booze, in and out of rehab, which is probably how he nailed that character with perfection! RIP!

My wife watched True Blood. Lafayette was one of two characters that didn't annoy the shit out of me.

Dang, Landau as well? Expected at 89 though, long life.

Romero...wow....Another one I can't go "Oh this is terrible" because he lived a crazy, long life. But he's my #1 director/writer of all time. Other than the Nightmare on Elm St series, the Romero zombie series were my favorite. It was so crazy my daughter was watching the original Day of the Dead on Saturday and then we read this yesterday.....I had to pop on my favorite Romero movie, the 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead. Tony Todd as Ben is just magic. What a legend.

Lead singer of Linkin Park Chester Bennington found dead apparently of a suicide by hanging....41 years old. WOW. Fucking miserable these deaths over the last couple years man, this year in just the last 2 months alone losing 2 big names in rock....

I'm a big fan of this band. I remember living in Detroit back in 2000 and they were just starting to make some noise. They came to Detroit to do a show and I had never heard of them, and there was actually a place called "Lincoln Park" so I thought they were a local band until like the next day I heard their first single on the radio and I was like, ok not local haha. But yeah man, loved this guy's voice, really dug LP's music over the years, even the super industrial shit they did on the last 3 out of 4 albums. Heartbreaking.

He has six kids. What a shame.

Definitely loved their first couple albums and a song or two from their last albums.

Never enjoyed Linkin Park, thought they were absolutely terrible, but I know many who loved them and this is sad news indeed. I did like his work with STP. RIP

Never cared for LP at all, but fuck man, a wife, six kids, successfully/wealthfully doing the thing you love..

Can't hardly imagine the kind of mental state to make me want to exit it all. Just tragic and incomprehensible this human thing sometimes.

    Hope his family find solace.

Another disturbing side note is today would have been Chris Cornell's 53rd birthday. Apparently they were pretty close and his death hit Chester pretty fucking hard. Just sad.

It's tough because at times I say "why would he kill himself, he had all that money and success" and then at other times I say "money and success isn't everything."

Obviously I can't speak for his mental state or anything like that, but I do know that sometimes people with any number of mental diseases feel like they're a burden to their families. They feel like the families would be better off not having to worry about them.

Along with Chocolate Starfish, Hybrid Theory was the soundtrack to my mid-teens. As my tastes changed I didn't keep my love for them in the same way but Faint and Iridescent are still two of my absolute favourite songs.

Six kids, that is fucking awful.

Yeah man this guy has a well documented history of drug and alcohol addiction/abuse. He was physically/sexually abused as a kid. It's like with Cornell or Kurt Cobain or just people in general who commit suicide and you wonder, man what was so bad about their life? But we don't know shit but what we're given. My gf's father committed suicide, had attempted several times. Come to find out he just was struggling hard with his past, he was 50 years old and probably had at least a dozen suicide attempts that he somehow survived. It was almost like my gf and her family were extremely sad but not shocked when they found him if you can imagine that. It's a very complicated thing suicide is, comes across as being very selfish but who's actually the selfish one? Those of us who want them to carry on and suffer or the person who can't find the strength to carry on for us....

This song got me through one of the worst periods of my life. I listened to it multiple times a day, every day, for months straight. I've probably heard it 5,000 times and I still love it.

This record is super underrated. I really really liked it. I think this was the first time they worked with Rick Rubin.

I agree. Not really my kind of music but he had amazing range as a singer. I think my favorite thing I ever heard them do was Breaking the Habit.

    Sad for his family.

I was a little too old to be into Linkin Park, but I remember playing 'numb' to my teenage students as a way of preserving what little cred I had as a teacher.
41 years old, 6 kids. What a fuckin' waste.

Some piece of shit hacked his wife's twitter and posted something along the lines of she told him to kill himself and that she was cheating on him the other singer....people are fucking stupid. I get it, when a celeb kills themselves people bust out the whole "I'm angry about suicide!!" But hacking into someone's twitter and posting that.....some of these fucks need put in a time machine and drafted to Vietnam. With no gun.

Does it really matter if you guys were fans or liked their music? If Lady Gaga died tomorrow I'm not going to say "Her music was dog shit but this is sad". Starting off with a negative and then talking about how sad this is....Imagine if you're at a funeral, and they go "Didn't care what he contributed to this planet but this is still a sad day."

And I'm not trying to come at anyone in a super negative way but holy fuck man it's like a million posts across the planet that go "Thought he sucked but it's still sad...."

It does matter, cause if you say RIP sad day dude, then you're assumed to be a fan. And there is no way on hell that I'll ever be a Linkin Park fan cause they suck balls.

How can I word this without coming across as I normally would.....

Who fucking cares if you're a fan or not? You pay respects and you move on. If you're not invested one bit other than a man killed himself and you find the situation "sad" for him, his family, whatever....then why even comment? Nobody gives 2 shits if you're a fan or not, and I highly fucking doubt anyone of worth on this planet is going to treat you like a goon because they think you are because they might have read your post on Rajah's message board.

Cool, they suck balls, that has nothing to do with anything. Would you greet his 6 kids and widow and his family and friends with "You know, his band sucked balls but I'm really sorry for your loss?" Of course not. So show some tact, grow the fuck up.

Are you sad about the hundreds and thousands of other people in this country that commit suicide on a daily basis due to many reasons? Do you go out of your way to say RIP for them? No. You don't. You do it because he is famous for his music. So yes, I can 100% see why Donald or others would state if, or if not, they were a fan of his music first, then pay their respects next. The only reason we talk about this death is because he was famous, therefore giving your opinion on his music is relevant.

If someone brings up that someone they know or someone here on this board killed themselves, even if it was like Peter Griffin, I'm not going to go "The kid was a douchebag but this is sad".

Go back a page or two and read up about my gf of the last 8 years father who killed himself and tried to multiple times. So yeah, it's something that hits me right in the fucking gut especially nowadays that he's gone and it's just a constant reminder. If I'm on Facebook, and someone says "My husband just took his own life" which has happened, I commented and paid my respects like a decent human being.

Nobody gives a fuck if you're a fan or not, it's not about you liking his music or not and the stupid reason that "Oh they might think I'm a fan"....how fucked up does someone have to be to think they have to make sure the small % of the public on this board or wherever needs you to reassure us that you don't like his music, his hair, his cock size, whatever the fuck.....It's no different than going "Don't take offense but...." and then you say some offensive shit. For me, dude I've been dealing with people dying and committing suicide way too often these days, not even celebs, just in general. There are people I don't like who pass on and the last thing I'm doing is "Well the guy was lame but I'm really sorry he's gone." It's just disrespectful and your opinion of what they contributed is irrelevant. It's not about you, that's a problem too many people have when it comes to people dying in general. You try to make it about you and you come across as a fuck.

Haha, coincidentally I bring your name up and before I can even post you show up.

Like I said, even someone like you, I would feel sad and I sure as shit wouldn't be a complete waste of life about it even though the least you deserve would be a couple pints of piss mixed in your urn but hey it's all love.

And I'm a cretin because I feel someone and/or their family at the least deserve an ounce of respect? Right on. Like I said, see the above sentence.

Nobody else should mention whether they were a fan or not and move on, by the way I was massive fan and I'm going to harp on about my personal opinions. I'm so decently respectful of dead people, you deserve your remains to be desecrated in human waste.

Nothing new from Nash Diesel. Absolute total fucking hypocrite.

It matters to the degree in which you are affected. Being a huge fan of someone and then losing them is very painful. I don't want to compare my sympathy for the guy's family to others on here that may be feeling tremndously different because they had a personal connection to the music. That feels like losing a family member.

I'm sad the man is gone for other's sake. Not for my own. I think that's a distinction worth making is all.

This is a DISCUSSION forum. People do care about your opinions, or why else would they be here? And your analogy makes zero sense. If someone's father passed away, for example, of course I wouldn't have an opinion on the matter. I'd say RIP and move on, because I had no personal connection to that person. Chester is different. He was an artist whose job was to provide music to the world. As a person, I have no opinion, because I didn't know Chester the person. That said, I feel it's very relevant to discuss his music here, or what else would be said?

If my favorite musical artist died and a couple of you guys came into the thread and said something along the lines of "his music sucked but RIP", I wouldnt be upset in the slightest. It's the internet and people are entitled to lol at his death if that's what makes them happy.

Besides, he didn't die in a plane crash, he killed himself. Tragic as shit but he doesn't deserve sympathy. His family does of course deserve sympathy, but a 40 year old man with 6 kids who hangs himself is a special kind of piece of shit as far as I am concerned. And his music WAS fucking awful. Fuck him.

I would have been super pissed if somebody talked shit about Dr. Ralph when he died last year. Same thing with Syd Barrett and Rick Wright when they passed on. John Kickjazz and Pakelika too. I have no sympathy for people that commit suicide though.

Suicide is where my empathy and compassion turn to rage. There isn't anything left to underestimate.

As I am sure most here have had depression severely affect their family in some way, I don't think there is any incorrect emotional response to suicide.

Some people laugh at funerals because it's how they process extreme anxiety.

    Yes.

And definitely not that I secretly jammed out to LP countless times in my car when I was alone because I needed a little room to breathe and I'mabouttobreak.

I'd never do that. I'm way too cool. I only listen to Patti Smith and Velvet Underground.

    You're awesome.

Heard was solid enough. Home Alone is obviously a classic and he was fine in the few times I saw him in Sopranos and a few b-level films.

    RIP John.

Took a minute to wikipedia it...
The Godzilla suit itself was constructed by Kanji Yagi, Koei Yagi, and Eizo Kaimai, who used thin bamboo sticks and wire to build a frame for the interior of the suit and added metal mesh and cushioning over it to bolster its structure and finally applied coats of latex.[17] Coats of molten rubber were additionally applied, followed by carved indentations and strips of latex glued onto the surface of the suit to create Godzilla's scaly hide.[17] This first version of the suit weighed 100 kilograms (220 pounds). For close-ups, Toshimitsu created a smaller scale, mechanical, hand-operated puppet that sprayed streams of mist from its mouth to act as Godzilla's atomic breath.[20]
220lbs, yup, but nothing about concrete, even so...
Haruo Nakajima and Katsumi Tezuka were chosen to perform in the Godzilla suit, due to their strength and endurance.[17] At the first costume fitting, Nakajima fell down while inside the suit,[21] due to the heavy latex and inflexible materials used to create the suit.[17] This first version of the suit was cut in half and used for scenes requiring only partial shots of Godzilla or close-ups, with the lower-half fitted with rope suspenders for Nakajima to wear.[21][20] A second identical suit was created for full-body shots, which was made lighter than the first suit but Nakajima was still only able to be inside for three minutes before passing out.[21] Nakajima lost 20 pounds during the production of the film.[22]

It's sad, but I thought he'd been dead for years. No idea that he was still alive. I mean, was alive. RIP
