"Stabby"! There was a family sitting behind us with their 2 kids who looked to be about 8 or 9 years old. As soon as the first "stab" happened, they grabbed their kids and left. I guess the R rating wasn't enough of a clue that this wasn't gonna be your normal X-Man movie. I loved every second of it.

They had warning posters everywhere in the theater I was in advising this was not a kids movie and to think twice about taking them.

You'd think the R rating enough would give some parents a fucking clue. Of course, my wife came home from the last "50 Shades" movie and said something similar happened there with dumb parents and little kids. It's one thing you think your kid is mature enough to handle certain subject matter, but some people drag their kids to the movies because they either can't afford or are just to dim to get a babysitter.

Who in their right fucking mind would take kids to see 50 fucking Shades? That is some extra level oddness.

Bc some people are retarded and knew nothing other than that it was another superhero movie that their kid wanted to see. I lol'ed at the warning signs all inside the theatre telling parents that Logan wasn't meant for kids.

Anybody dumb enough to take their kids to 50 Shades needs to have CPS called on them.

Anyone else find it a bit weird hearing the swearing and mature language from Logan and Charles after not having any of it in any of the previous movies for so many years?

I thought I would but I didn't. I think part of it was that it wasn't over the top excessive like some R-rated flicks where they put an F-bomb every other word because they can and it loses its weight/punch. It felt real, the cursing was in the right places, appropriately used and as Mark said, they're crusty old bastards more than fit to cuss. They've earned it.

Yeah, it seemed like they did it just because they had an r-rating. Logan smirked though, so it's worth it?

Either way, it didn't bother me.

It was brief. Logan is cheufering some party girls and one says "hey driver" before pulling down her top. Nice set of tits but ultimately irrelevant to the story.

Fantastic. Finally got the Wolverine movie I always wanted. No need to shoehorn 15 mutants and a contrived plot when you can just have Wolverine and his daughter killing bad guys with robo arms. Real tear jerker of a film. Loved it.

Just saw this today and was seriously impressed. Not being shackled to the X-Men universe was the winning formula. I liked how we're dropped into the future, with only hints of what had happened to the world, but without a ton of exposition to answer those questions, Jackman can play this character in his sleep but the R rating and vulnerability gave him a chance to go to new depths. Stewart was incredible - I've always felt that he's never had a chance to have a really meaty performance as the Professor, so to see him crazed, cranky and funny was amazing.

I loved the cross at the end, but I think the dinner was my favourite scene in the film. Also, I was amazed that they kept X-24 out of the trailers. I thought that was the moment where the film was about to fall down like the others did when it comes to antagonists. It made sense in terms of the theme of the film, but my first reaction was that it was too literal and on-the-nose. I think I was ok with it by the end, because it was a fairly small role and the scene in the house was really impactful. I've read the thoughts of others who disliked it in their first viewing, but weren't as bothered second time around.

Finally caught up to this. And what a fantastic film. Just hypnotic all the way through.

Marvel's answer to Nolan's Batman Begins, and it rivals it for best superhero film of all-time, for me anyway.

The gritty, groundedness. The ultra-violence we've all been yearning for from Wolverine. Charles and Logan playing off of one another in the most fitting of ways. And then throw in a wonderful bit of character work with Laura bringing everything together whilst Logan's literally coming apart at the seams. Wonderful theme played to a brilliant tone. I freaking loved this.

    1. Batman Begins
    2. Logan
    3. The Dark Knight
    4. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

These are what superhero movies should strive to be. Hope this is in the Acadamy's consciousness come nomination time.

That's a very loose ranking, and more to the point of just what superhero all-timers should be. Also I just finished Logan and need to get away from the recency of it to fairly judge. But it's most certainly in that group.

As of right now though I prefer the smaller scale intimacy of the Logan story and vibe to the galactic scope and breadth of TDK. No right or wrong answer to the subjectiveness between the two, at bare minimum recognizing they're both great.

The Dark Knight is sooooooo overrated. Yes I'm a broken record but it keeps being brought into this discussion and probably all superhero movie discussions as some kind of litmus. Logan is much better.

I have yet to see Logan and while I think TDK is a great movie, it's not the end all be all imo.

How is it overrated? It's overexposed, but overrated doesn't seem right. It has plenty of detractors at this point. A lot of people prefer Batman Begins.

I don't think the argument is simply about TDK being the best superhero movie of all-time anyway, tbh. It's the litmus because it cemented the idea of a superhero movie that insisted people stop saying it's really good ... for a superhero movie, and instead just say it's a really good movie.

For some people Spider-Man 2 had already done this and brought the idea into inception. For many like myself, Begins did this and made it the hallmark. But on the scale of general movie goers and critics, TDK punched that idea thoroughly home, and that'll always be its place.

And then some people just genuinely find it to be their favorite/best superhero movie of all-time, and more power to 'em because it's hardly a wacky idea, as it was great.

Overexposed is a better word. It was good and a fun movie most of the way through but it didn't have the 'realism' that BB (and Logan) had. I went in thinking it would be like it's predecessor but it turned into cartoon comic book mode pretty quick and I couldn't get fully invested in it. I know plenty like me prefer Begins but it isn't discussed in the same light as TDK and i can't put my finger on what people could enjoy more about that movie.

Honestly I think its because of the hype when the movie came out, and it didn't disappoint most.

Plus all the Joker avatars made this place fun. Mine was the best: Joker Cena performing an STFU.

I didn't think TDK was cartoony at all. There were moments of James Bond-like outlandishness, but cartoony is too extreme. Begins had those same moments. Everyone seems to have different opinions on which movie in the trilogy is the most comic book-like.

The Dark Knight gets talked about the most because it was a pop culture phenomenon. Ledger's Joker played a big part in that, but the marketing took it to the next level as well. Then the movie delivered on the hype.

Boyd Holbrook was great as well. Can't help but think he'd do terrific as Gambit.

I'm curious why Gambit hasn't been a more prominent character with any spin-offs. He was my favorite X-man growing up and still one of the coolest, concept-wise.

I read somewhere Channing Tatum is supposed to play Gambit in a Gambit movie.
