Ah man I really liked the Kick Ass movies. The 2nd one I didn't like as much as the first but it's a good movie to waste 90 minutes of your life watching here and there.

These guys got to see an early screening, and the verdict is that the movie is good. It also has Stan Lee's best cameo in a Marvel movie, according to them. Speaking more broadly most people seem to like it, some people really like it, while some people predictably aren't into the humor and style of it or can't get past that it's another origin story.

I get that people are getting burnt out on super hero origin stories, generally, but Deadpool isn't exactly a household name character to the non-comic book fan movie going public.

    just back from a screening.

Its ok, as predicted i really didn't find it that funny certainly didnt pass the 6 laugh test for me but the action scenes were really well done and violent which is what i feel we needed from a superhero movie at this point.

Ryan Reynolds is quite an annoying actor so this role suits him well and the supporting cast are good enough. I really didn't like Weasel (T.J Millars character) and thought that Negasonic Teenage Warhead was a bit meh.

The fourth wall stuff gets a bit silly when they reference real actors names but they get away with it 9 times out of 10.

Solid enough, if i was 14-18 i'd think it was the best thing ever.

I must have the mind of a teenager as I really liked it.

Mild spoiler: the bit with the little hand, stroking the blind women's face, come on Mike that was good shit.

i preferred when he sliced his hand off with colossus.

This movie was awesome. Thats all I really got to say...you can't get more perfect for a Deadpool movie. If you like Deadpool you will enjoy this movie...if you are not familiar with him it could go either way. And yes this was Stan Lees best cameo appearance hahaha.

Yes. Yes to all of this.

Saw it this afternoon thought it was good overall. Reynolds is perfect for this role the movie has a lot of humor, and most of it's pretty good.

The 6 laugh test only works for outright comedies and even then I have always believed it to be a misnomer. I love Planes, Trains but it got 4 laughs out of me aged 9. My mum gets 13 laughs at least when she watches it every year. Still a 8/10 for me though just for the novelty and innovation of the script and performances.

anyone want to elaborate on why they thought it was awesome.

i think anyone who believes this is more than ok needs to watch it again and see if they still get the same buzz and feeling from it. i thought this about kick ass and my god on 2nd viewing i liked it a lot lot less.

Im also starting to wonder if the comedy is maybe aimed at americans. absolutely no one i know thats been to see it has said anything other than its ok.

I really enjoyed it, a refreshing aside from the superhero formula that's reaching saturation point. I could've done without the X-Men involvement, frankly, but I'd give it a 7/10 for what it was, probably. I really enjoy the Deadpool character, and that's having only gotten into him lately and not really considering myself to be a total fanboy. Plus Morena Barrarin is one of my all time favourite sexy ladies and Ryan Reynolds could do whatever he wanted to me.

I thought it was fantastic, but I have been a Deadpool comics fan since high school. My wife knows nothing about Deadpool, but she laughed for the entire movie.

I thought it was really good. You gotta have different judging methods depending on the type of film it is. This is meant to be a daft comedy action film you can just kick back too and enjoy and thats pretty much what it delivered. it's no masterpiece but these type films aren't mean to be. I thought the also did well enough to add in enough comic elements to appease the comic fans whilst still making it fun and easy to watch for those who have never even heard of him.

They done an amazing job of marketing as well so props to them for that and it outsold pretty much everyother comic book film to date that wasn't a sequel or grouped superheroes together (Avengers) so theyve been rewarded well.I'll be interested to see where they go from here, do they do more? Does he get added into the other films as either a cameo or or heavier part. The character has been growing well for some time and with the success its had I doubt they'll just leave it at that.

Also with it being R Rated and having such a massive success, I wonder if that tempts them into doing more adult themed superhero films?

They will be doing Deadpool and Cable for Deadpool 2, which is a popular series on its own. There are also plans for an X-Force movie that will have Deadpool in it.

they had Deadpool confirm there would be a sequel with cable in it in the post credits sting.

I still think everyone is seeing a different film to me.

Absolutely loved it. It nailed the Deadpool character down perfectly. The budget restrictions worked very nicely in their favor, I believe, keeping the cast down to only 2 other x-men. Very over the top crude and there were A LOT of kids in the theater, but oh well, it's on those parents.

I left when the credits rolled as I had a gig on and had to be down there to make sure everything was running to time so never saw that bit.

Hopefully this film's success bodes well for Adam McKay's adaptation of Garth Ennis' The Boys. I don't even know if he's connected to that film anymore, but I think he needs to be the one to make it.

The R rating is a joke, much prefer the 15/18 we have.

Just got back from this. Really fun and better than i expected. I am familiar with the comic character, was a fan when younger but kind of fell off once I got into wrestling more than comics and well before DP blew up into being a top tier guy. So i was expecting the possibility of finding him annoying and the humor not working for me. But those worries were for naught as it was funny as hell and DP was quite likable. My wife has no familiarity with DP and didn't really dig the trailers and she thought it was good, too. Good stuff. Agree with the folks mentioning how it was a refreshing change of pace from the usual fare, absolutely true.

Deadpool was the awesome. I loved the video game they did a few years ago and this movie confirms DP is the top guy of Marvel for me.

My whole childhood I was watching Chucky, Puppet Master and other full moon movies, Zombie movies, Troma movies and all sorts of other horror movies. I turned out pretty normal I guess.

Plus movies like Predator, Alien, Terminator all had toy lines for kids. Those were rated r movies. This day and age people are all pussies.

Best walk out I've ever witnessed was at Bruno. A woman brought her five year old and walked out FAR too long into the movie. They survived the fucking penis dance. It was great. There was also a whole gaggle of confused senior citizens at that showing. So great.

There were a handful of kids at the showing at went to. I'd say 10 to 15 max. I was more surprised at guys in their 60s or 70s being there.

Haven't seen this yet but just read that the success of this has gotten an R rated Wolverine movie going.

    This is good news ya?

Saw this last night and loved it. I thought it was hilarious and the action scenes were well executed. I also really enjoyed Colossus.

If Deadpool's success means we FINALLY get a Wolverine movie that's true to the character and the comic books, then even better.

Hugh Jackman had best not be Wolverine then for this "true" wolverine movie then since Wolverine is not a six foot odd sized man.

What exactly is a true Wolverine movie anyway?

I've found his character has been treated pretty well in the movies if you mean rated R and ultraviolent that thats not true to the comics at all as they are PG-13 every month when released.

How tall is Joaquin Phoenix? He pretty much had the look of Wolverine in Inherent Vice.

Yeah, other than Jackman being too tall, I'd say his Wolverine has been pretty damn on point. Not sure what you could do better that needs anything to be R-rated, at least as far as the portrayal of the character is concerned.

Rated R Wolvie would just have more blood. We have already seen his ass and he dropped F bomb in First Class. There is not much in the way of shocking they can do with him. The Wolverine was pretty spot on.

His character hasn't been butchered like some others, but it hasn't, IMO, been a very true to the comic character portrayal, either.

One of the biggest aspects of the character that I think's been largely ignored in the X-movies and his solo movies is Wolverine's inner struggle to maintain his humanity and not embrace his base animal urges and basically become what Sabertooth is in the comics. They've not explored that much, at all, nor have they really touched on Wolverine's struggles to not give into his rage and become a berserker. There've been a few mentions of these things here and there, but it hasn't been shown to be as big a part of his character as it has been in the comics. Wolverine's internal struggles are what make him an interesting character.

There's really a lot more they could do with his character than they have. So far, he's been portrayed as a fairly generic good guy. Even the version of Wolverine from the 90's X-Men comic had more depth than the Jackman Wolverine. And that's not to say I think Jackman has done a bad job with the character because he hasn't.

Been a Deadpool fan for forever... excellent reviews thus far.

watching a superhero movie in the United States has become a rather paranoid affair.

I think I'll just save myself a potential shotgun blast to the face and order/rent it as soon as it becomes available.

Pearlman would be a good choice. I know he was in talks to play Swamp Thing in the DC Dark movie, but now that Del Toro left the project he might too.

Im also starting to wonder if the comedy is maybe aimed at americans. absolutely no one i know thats been to see it has said anything other than its ok.
I actually lean more towards this assessment. I really liked it, and thought it was funny, but I felt it got too mired in backstory and more serious bits than I was anticipating. They nailed the Deadpool character perfectly, which is awesome, but I was hoping for more chaos and hijinx in the costume. Gives me hope for what the sequel could be, though.

Taskmaster was in the original script but he was cut due to the budget.

#1 X-Men movie of all time.
#1 R-Rated comic movie of all time.

Coming for that #1 R-Rated movie of all time, held by Matrix Reloaded.

People are finally starting to recognize my hat that I've wore at work for a year now which has a Deadpool logo on it.

Saw this a few days ago and I can't complain at all really. (Didn't like Colossus that much) It was definitely great for what it set out to be though and hopefully greenlights a few more movies in the same style. (C'MON DC BRING THE LOBO!) The thing that surprised me the most is I would really like to see more back story on Wade before he became Deadpool. I could be happy with a 85 to 90 minute prequel down the road or even an animated short as a blu ray feature.

Finally saw it tonight, pretty underwhelmed. It was alright, but that was it. Nowhere near as funny as I thought it'd be, it kept me smiling but didn't make me laugh too often.

Action was alright, story was alright, comedy was alright. It was alright.

So, you're saying it's alright, alright, alright?

Saw it last night. Fucking loved it! Totally loved the Ferris rip off too. Thought I would be annoyed with the breaking the 4th wall stuff, but it was done perfectly. All the little digs were great.

I work in the meat department. It's hat or hair net.

I finally saw this a couple of weeks ago. I went in with extremely low expectations assuming this kind of movie would not be my bag and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Bought it and watched it last night. Incredible. Only negative, Colossus covering Gina Carano's titties. Bad Colossus!

I really hope Cancer comes back in this. It made me laugh hysterically for the entire flick.
