    The Man Comes Around

Anybody think the song is a little to up beat for Taker to use it as an entrance theme at WM? My guess is they'll play it during an intro video or just use it to promote the match but I just can't picture Undertaker walking to the ring with that song playing lol.

I doubt he uses the actual song for his entrance.

If anything, "Aint no Grave" would be more appropriate this year than ever before.

Yeah ain't no grave is way more fitting because of the darker tune. The man's lyrics are taylor made for Taker and the song itself is great but the instrumentals have to much of lighter vibe to be considered an Undertaker entrance theme.

Yeah if you want to limit his entrance to only Johnny Cash songs that are about the angel of death then you still have like 50 to choose from.

This song is perfect for him. He is still an unknown, bad ass entity. He rules Wrestlemania, even with the one loss.

And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder:
One of the four beasts saying: "Come and see." And I saw.
    And behold, a white horse.

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names.
An' he decides who to free and who to blame.
Everybody won't be treated all the same.
There'll be a golden ladder reaching down.
    When the man comes around.

The hairs on your arm will stand up.
At the terror in each sip and in each sup.
For you partake of that last offered cup,
Or disappear into the potter's ground.
    When the man comes around.

Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers.
    One hundred million angels singin'.
Multitudes are marching to the big kettle drum.
    Voices callin', voices cryin'.
Some are born an' some are dyin'.
    It's Alpha's and Omega's Kingdom come.

And the whirlwind is in the thorn tree.
The virgins are all trimming their wicks.
The whirlwind is in the thorn tree.
It's hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Till Armageddon, no Shalam, no Shalom.
Then the father hen will call his chickens home.
The wise men will bow down before the throne.
And at his feet they'll cast their golden crown.
    When the man comes around.

Whoever is unjust, let him be unjust still.
Whoever is righteous, let him be righteous still.
Whoever is filthy, let him be filthy still.
Listen to the words long written down, When the man comes around.

Hear the trumpets, hear the pipers.
    One hundred million angels singin'.
Multitudes are marchin' to the big kettle drum.

In measured hundredweight and penny pound.
    When the man comes around.

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts,
And I looked and behold: a pale horse.
And his name, that sat on him, was Death.
    And Hell followed with him.

Lyrics are perfect. The actual song seems too peppy and upbeat to work. Unfortunately Mr. Cash is no longer with us so he can't do a special version for Taker.

He should use the Limp Bizkit Rollin' song.

It will be relevant because if he keeps wrestling he will use a wheelchair to get down the ramp.

The Man Comes Around sounds more appropriate to Bray then Taker.

I'd like them to both come out to their most familiar entrance themes.

It is too upbeat for Taker, especially with how slow he walks. But someone posted this on youtube, and with a better audio production crew like WWE has it could work.

I think it could work, it has a redemption type theme to it. Doesn't really suit his deadman character but maybes if he alters the character somewhat. That said with the build up of urns and lightning that looks unlikely.

It could work and be epic live, but then they'd dub it over on every replay to avoid paying for the use of the song.

Guys I am 100% convinced this song is perfact as an Undertaker alternate theme song:

Nick Cave - Red Right Hand

    How about...

The lights go out and Bray Wyatt makes his entrance down to the ring. All the fireflies have their cell phones out blinking away in the darkness.

Then the whole building goes silent. We hear the gong. And then...on the tron...

This is an excellent song. It is the theme tune to Peaky Blinders, a UK TV series about gangs in Birmingham post WW1. Really good.

I'd actually majorly mark out if the American Bad Ass came back for one night. Like, he's not fucking around this year. No head games, he's just there to beat Bray's ass and teach him some respect. Would also get around the problem of having to make his entrance in sunlight.

Someone in another thread mentioned, I think jokingly, about the two gimmicks kinda merging.

A dead american badass could be fucking epic.

Bray is in the ring waiting for Taker to do his slow walk of an old beaten man. Gongs hit and taker rockets out on some Gothic chopper.

I would agree with a badass Taker returning as oppoed to a "Dead Man."

    You've done it now...

You've gone and made a mistake...

It would be perfect. Bray Wyatt is expecting a dead man Taker and all of his head games that come with it. Taker just comes out, older, sick of the shit, and just wants to kick Bray Wyatt's ass.

All I know is The Undertaker (most specifically Mark Calaway) is one of the greatest characters of all time (in any form - biker, badass, deadman, whatever.)

The gimmick was absolutely cheesey, and nobody else would be able to make it credible, stand the test of time, and then evolve into other adaptations with ease.

He is a true legend in the sport, and I can't see someone coming close with those type of gimmicks.

Would be cool to see Taker just walk out to "You're gonna Pay" in full Big Evil garb. No chopper just him walking out amidst the smoke while still under partial daylight. Kind of like bringing ABA back from the dead. Thanks for keeping this thread going lads. I'm usually online from work at a call center and it's near impossible to post on a regular basis.

You know what else I'd love? If Taker came out, stopped at the top of the ramp, took out some tape, and slowly taped up his fists while staring Bray down. Straight reference to that story about making sure Shawn put Austin over at Wrestlemania.

I don't actually mean the announcers should mention it, just that I would love the visual of Taker taping up his fists to kick some ass.

Yeah, I know, but the mythical aspect of the Dead Man gimmick connects with people on a different level. He's like a real life comic book character.

"I'll tell you what, why don't you say "what" if you like to sleep with your own sister." That's definitely the greatest crowd shutdowns I've ever heard, though.

I think we all know that most wrestlers, jacked as they may be, aren't actually badass dudes that settle problems with violence. Anyone who knows a few bodybuilder types probably knows what I'm talking about.

The Undertaker on the other hand just comes across as someone you legitimately would never want to piss off in real life. He would probably end your face if you got on his bad side.

Has anybody ever heard a story of Taker being in a real fight? It seems like he's so respected and terrifying that no one would dare raise a hand to him.

From BleacherReport...and it's the best thing I can find for an example.

You see, triple-threat matches even happen in real life.

According to Kurt Angle's book,*Vince McMahon*once (jokingly) jumped him backstage and took him down. In typical Vince fashion, he reminded Kurt every chance he got that he was the only one backstage to ever take Angle down.

On a plane ride, Angle decided to get his revenge and took Vince down in the aisle. McMahon then became obsessed with continuing this little feud and attempted to shoot on Angle every chance he got.

During one of the scuffles, their noise woke up a sleeping Undertaker. Taker obviously did not realize McMahon and Angle were just fooling around, so he grabbed Kurt from behind and promptly choked him out.

There needs to be a WWE Network special on the Flight from Hell. Or someone could just clip together all the different shoot interviews were guys talked about it.

He actually did tape his fists before going to work on DDP back in 2001. So that would be a more direct reference I guess. Badass visual as well.

Michael Hayes tried to fight Bradshaw. He pissed on Linda McMahon. And then JBL knocked him the fuck out. X-Pac cut his mullet ponytail off after he passed out. Flair was walking around naked under his robe (seems standard for him). Angle and Vince wrestled in the aisle. Hennig and Lesnar got into a wrestling match in the aisle. Goldust pathetically serenaded his ex-wife. And I think Scott Hall was basically comatose the whole way.

Like five people got fired right away and somehow Michael Hayes wasn't one of them.

I really think there are certain people in the company that have pictures of Vince getting blown by Yokozuna or something.

I've read about him working as a collector way before he became a wrestler. And I also once read a story, think it was Zeb Coulter woh talked about going to a bar with Mark Callaway back in the territory days and him flattening some dude.

From what I can gather it appears ABA is quite the reflection of his true self.

Didn't Taker and Brock have some sort of beef at one point. it's hard to decipher what is kayfabe or not but I remember that silly stand off thing they had at UFC and then Brock being interviewed and saying he would like to fight him, that he wouldn't stand a chance and that they had a legitimate beef.

Most people assume they were talking about ending the streak (well taker was, Brock was in doo dah land) but I dunno, they always seemed tense around each other.

Seemed like a legit tense moment at cageside. Brock eye-balling Taker (although he had just gotten knocked out, so he probably wasn't all there) and Taker giving it right back to him. I could see them having a beef, but at the same time Taker put Brock over a bunch of times.

I don't think Hayes actually pissed on Linda McMahon. I heard he was hammered (obviously) and had his dick out around her and people assumed he was about to piss on her before he was stopped.

Flair was apparently helicoptering his cock around trying to get female flight attendants to touch it. Class act, that guy.

Angle and Vince wrestled around which woke up the Undertaker who proceeded to choke out Angle who he presumed was actually going at it with Vince for real.

Lesnar and Hennig also wrestled each other which apparently resulted in them slamming against the door of the plane and scaring the bejesus out of everyone.

You're right, he didn't actually piss on her. Just whipped it out standing over her and was trying.

I really like the idea of a merged ABA and Deadman persona for Mania. Gong hits, fog clouds billow up, flames rise, and then VROOM, Taker rolls out on a badass goth Harley. Give him the leather pants, that sleeveless top with the Taker logo from the Ministry era, the shaved head and goatee he rocked last year but no dye job. He can tape his fists on the stage for Law, and then roll on down the ramp as flames follow him on both sides.

If Taker comes back as Big Evil they really need to show a clip of Maven eliminating him from the 2002 Royal Rumble right before the bell rings so he goes 100% apeshit on everyone.

I want him to appear as Mean Mark Calloway and establish a new 1-0 streak. He can come out to a generic WWE-penned theme tune.

Or just rehash 'Touch of Grey'
