Arguably the longest non-review non-Wilfred's post I've ever seen done by someone around here lol. I actually read about 90% of it.

We have a new cast member. Her name is Chelsea. She was cut during the training camp. She's "replacing" Dianna. Now watch her win

Hey guy who neg repped me for being too long. You do realize that that kind of ignorance towards in depth thoughts is what made this forum so hard to get into in the first place. I've lurked and read how you guys pride yourself in not being a place that is not super smarky and have deep in depth thoughts. Yet, one of your more senior members could not help but immediately neg rep because there was a post that had an in depth analysis. One of my first posts here got welcomed by Kimura Kid posting a 'Didn't Read' gif. If you guys really want to be seen as an accepting, non-ignorant community then you guys seriously need to get your shit together and behave like it. It also reinforces the negative stereotype of wrestling fans being somewhat low brow and not being able to comprehend in depth analysis. Granted, I am a blow hard but nobody is going to want to join these forums or continue posting if they are met with immediate rejection because of something so petty like length. If you wanted to neg rep me because you disagree with my points? Fine but then you would actually debate my points but instead you attack me in a way where you can do it pseudo anonymous and not up to public scrutiny. It is easy to kick someone else who puts themselves out there in public in private. At least Kimura Kid had the balls to do it on the boards. By doing so you are pretty telling me that you are not smart enough to get through eleven paragraphs and are telling me that you are SUPER insecure about it.

I am not going to out who this was because obviously he does not want to REALLY put himself out there.

With that, I am off again. I have tried time and again to engage in conversation here and have been time and again with degradation for having a lot of thoughts on something we are ALL passionate about. These boards, and thus most wrestling communities if this is the MOST MATURE one as some have said over the last few weeks, are just not for me. Most of you are probably really cool but there are still some elements of when these boards were more elitist and smarky that are still around and I have been witness to all of that. I hope you guys seriously shape up so you can have a growing community instead of one that stagnates and poo poos anything out of the box or different.

I hope Sara Lee gets some kind of job with WWE. She's just so damn cute. I can see her being the ditzy backstage interviewer like Maria was.

That would give her time to improve in everything that's needed to be a WWE Diva. (catty and psycho)

So dude drops in after time away, writes a fucking novel about Tough Enough, gets negative rep by someone who gets a headache from just looking at that many words, then bounces again?

    Like a Boss.

Spedizzo got called out for being a bitch. Who reports a post and then does the exact thing they just reported someone for? A bitch who was hoping that the mods would handle the mean bully.

9 out of 10 reps I get are negs. Not really, but some neg reps are just silly reps and you get used to it.

Lol yeah I think I said something dumb, like I do, and then I didn't make another post here for like two years. Then last December I started posting again and the first time I logged in I saw I had neg rep for something I had said in like 2012.

But seriously, who neg reps like "making me scroll down all that way. Fucking neg rep u asshole"?

Well I'm glad you've stuck around.

Neg reps and reporting posts are for pussies and trolls and people who aren't manly men and communists.

Back on topic this show is weird. Where's the wrestling? Are we training referees and/or valets here?

We got a valet out of the last season where they were supposedly training wrestlers (granted, she did wrestle but her matches were about as good as Melina vs. Alicia Fox was) so maybe the reverse logic is applying this season.

The bit on the main page about USA network being upset with Tough Enough is spot on. The taped/live format is weird. The voting scheme sucks. It feels more like a game show than a reality show. And most important(to me at least) nobody that has ever won the show has amounted to much of anything, so winning the show means absolutely nothing.

yep that pretty much sums it up.

Was also wondering, now that NXT is established as its own brand and doesn't consider itself to be developmental anymore(according to every interview I hear from NXT talent), will the "winner" of this show start in NXT or main roster WWE?

Most of them don't even have wrestling training, why would they possibly go to the main roster first?

Once they're trained, they would go to NXT to develop further as a talent. Why would they at all go to the main roster first?

Your comment just solidifies my feeling that this show is an insult to pure wrestling fans.

It's after he got released in 2005 I believe. Clip look like it's from 1996 or something though.

Also read he works as a bouncer in NY.

Ask Maven and Chris Nowinski and Nidia and Linda what's-her-name. I don't know, did they get a lot of development before they threw them in the roster? That's an actual question, not a snarky remark. Cuz I don't know.

Some wrestlers went to development, John Morrison and that Matt dude who won both went to development aside from like 1 match where Draemer caned the shit out of them. I actually think they all went to development, including Maven, but maybe not for a very long time. Seemed like the older seasons prepared you more for the ring as opposed to the later shows that seemed like reality t.v. game show b.s.

Pretty much. Seems he isn't all that proud of his 'rasslin past either..

MMA journalist Ariel Helwani posted the following about an encounter with former Tough Enough winner/WWE superstar Maven Huffman:
Just walked by a bar that former Tough Enough winner Maven was bouncing. Told him the Rumble spot was awesome. He didn’t seem pleased
I swear. He seemed embarrassed someone recognized him

That's sad to me. So many of these contestants get a chance to do something really cool and they end up not really digging it. And there are so many of us that would love to be in that spot but can't for whatever reason.
when I was younger I wanted to be Referee Tommy Young so bad. To be a part of the show, in an important role. Or perhaps a Gary Hart character, the heel manager. I had no idea how to get into the business. This was long before internet.
the kicker is now that I live about 5 minutes from Full Sail University I'm all old and fat and out of shape.

That's odd because when my buddies ran into Maven at a bar a fer years ago he popped for them recognizing him and talked about it for an hour straight.

He made that shit look fun. Especially compared to other refs of that time. Man he was flying all over the place, always had a hand in the air ready for the count. He would baseball slide into the 1-2... He was Johnny-on-the-Spot of referees. And kicking the heels hand of the ropes and stuff. It just looked so fun.

According to The Wrestling Observer, sources at the USA Network indicate that officials there believe pro wrestling's popularity is cycling downward, which is indicated by the decline in ratings.

Regarding disappointing numbers for WWE Tough Enough, it was noted by The Observer that USA feels the format of Tough Enough, with how it's taped and live, isn't working because it doesn't give the Tough Enough judges enough time to make fair decisions, and the fans are only given a few minutes instead of a whole day or a whole week to vote. They feel this turns off the audience and leads to a poor word of mouth buzz.

USA officials also reportedly feel like Steve Austin was a dynamic presence with charisma that carried the previous Tough Enough season and current host Chris Jericho is seen more like a game show host. There is no blame or heat on Chris Jericho but they are blaming the format of the show because it feels more like a game show instead of a reality TV competition. USA is also reportedly concerned with how the last two Tough Enough winners, Daniel Puder and Andy Leavine, were released before never amounting to anything in WWE. The original idea behind Tough Enough was that the winner gets a WWE contract and is expected to become a star but there's a feeling now that winning the show means nothing so fans don't care.
    Yikes.

Apparently the bit about the USA Network believing that pro wrestling's popularity is cycling downward wasn't in the Observer and was just bullshit added in by WRESTLINGNEWZ web sites.

Can't say I disagree with any of it to be honest. They seem to hit the nail on the head. Haven't liked the presentation or the product at all yet, except for Paige's dress on the first night and that damn Sara Lee (for looks only, not for her bizarre attempts at being "mean").

Tough Enough feels like every other reality competition show so I'm not sure why they're up in arms about the format. The fact that info was added into the story that was false makes me think this whole story is complete bullshit.

The Observer didn't add anything in, the sites reporting it did that.

It's not like the show is a big ratings success, so I'm not sure why you think USA wouldn't be critical of it.

I don't think it's just that TE feels another reality tv show competition that's a problem, it's that it feels like a low-effort composite version of a reality tv show competition.

Tough Enough was a groundbreaking reality show when it started. Now it's just a mockery of itself and making it more of a generic reality show instead of a reality competition only show, it just fucking sucks. I watch it a day later to see Paige, and to see if Sara Lee is still around. I know that Sara Lee is far from winning material as far as the show goes, but I would like to see her in some capacity on the roster in the future. Who knows though, she just might keep winning the fan votes until the judges decide to use their save on the other 2 when she's in the bottom 3 all the time and screw her out of fan votes.

Also, who would want to be with some of these people if they do win and make it to the roster. Patrick is the only one who actually respects the business, at least that's how he's being portrayed.

Jericho is so useless in this show that I keep forgetting him being the host the whole week til a new episode begins. At one point I thought Miz was the actual host.

Sara Lee is definitely winning this from the girls. Not sure on the guys just yet. I can honestly see any of them winning. While Tanner's promo skills aren't great, I feel like he can make people hate him and I can see him playing an underdog as well.

Jericho was probably the best he's been so far on this episode.

Loved that little back and forth between Paige and Sara at the end. Sara is awesome. I just wish she'd stop smiling so much when trying to be mean. I want to see her improve and show that she can be a sponge and learn and improve and make it in the WWE.

    Just saw this:
Just one week after doing their best numbers of the season, this week's Tough Enough episode drew only 997,000 viewers, down a significant 18% from last week's 1.221 million. This is the lowest number in Tough Enough history on the USA Network.

The 18-49 demographic was only a 0.37, down from 0.41. This still tops the low of 0.32 from two weeks ago. In a positive note, Tough Enough ranked #18 among cable shows for the night, up from #20 last week.

I wonder if they just say fuck it, and cut Sara, like how they did Rima on the Austin Tough Enough?

I'm 60/40 that Gigi wins over Sara. I'm 55/45 Patrick wins over Mada. I'm 100% confident they all get signed anyway.

With the way Sara was palling around with Jericho and Paige after the show, I don't think so. She finally let it out and showed something to Paige and Jericho during her promo on Paige.

I think the only way she gets cut, is if what I said earlier happens.

She's in the bottom 3 again, and the judges decide to save the other 2 just to screw her out of the fan votes. This is a fan vote, so the Judges are the only ones that can sabotage it by doing exactly that.

Nailed it. Sara Lee is the girl next door. I found myself going "C'mon, c'mon, just go off!" when Jericho and Paige were shouting at her. People are waiting for her and pulling for her to finally tap into it. I'm still thinking Patrick's the male frontrunner.

This week's episode was probably the best. The promo challenges were actually a worthwhile thing to be doing and add that to the in-ring training and it actually felt like a competition that was more focused on the business they're going into, so that was nice.

I can see the Sara Lee story becoming a long term angle in the future but I can also see wwe dropping the ball and forgetting about it sooner rather than later. Either way she gets a deal though.

The main issue with Patrick is that although he is the best overall package and a fan of the business (others in the show are fans by the way, just not well into it) I think he may be screwed if he gets put in the bottom 3 as he comes off as a bit of an arsehole.

ZZ and Sara Lee clearly have no business being in a WWE ring, but they are without a doubt the fan favorites and will win if it comes down to fan voting.

The two who I thought had the best 'look' to be wrestlers was the Brazil chick and the Egyptian guy.

I respect how much knowledge and how passionate Patrick is about the sport, but he does come across as a douche.

They really need to evoke the Austin rule, where repeatedly being in the bottom 3 gets you eliminated. Patrick was a tool but arguably the easiest for any trainer to work with. I still think he could end up in developmental. With this elimination, I can't not see Mada winning. Tanner has too dry of a personality and is hateable for the wrong reasons. Josh is missing something. ZZ has personality and I can see him making it to the finals if only because of the fan club.

Mick Foley boycotting the show because Patrick got eliminated. Ratings are gonna suck next week!

The judges can easily save the other two to get ZZ eliminated if they wanted. I think they want to keep him on the show to keep the ratings as high as possible since he has a fan club.

I'm curious now to see if the ratings go up again next week.

If ratings drop, will Mick Foley take the credit for it?

I wonder if that's even allowed by the rules. I mean it's never happened to my knowledge but that's the kind of fucked up thing that is either in the extra rules that we don't know about or the judges know would be fucked up. I think it was pretty clear that both DB and Paige wanted to save Patrick and Josh but since they have only a single save and knowing how popular ZZ is that saving one would just fuck the other guy over.

However that would kinda go against the spirit of the show wouldn't it? I mean you make an entire show that is about the WWE Universe getting to pick what we want and then you basically go 'Fuck you guys are morons we're choosing for you' I can easily see that getting poor responses. Hell I hate half the times they give us choices since they tend to be unrealistic. Polls like this just piss me off.

    a) John Cena vs Randy Orton vs Batista
    b) John Cena vs R-truth (Battle Rap)
    c) John Cena vs Disco Inferno (Dance Off)

That's not a choice and part of me hopes one day the fans just revolt and the WWE Championship changes hands on something fucking retarded.

I also kinda have a problem with them letting up on Sara because she finally acted out instead of calling out the others. I'm not a pro-wrestler obviously but I can't see how people blowing up in the locker room could possibly be what's best for business.

Mada and Sara Lee to win. Surprised to see Patrick go but he was a bit of a douchebag and with fan's votes being the deciding factor, it's just a popularity contest. Talent be damned, really.

Pretty much. In reality, the judges' should have their save opportunity for after the fan vote. I guarantee Daria would still be in it at least, and I'd bet Patrick too.

Isnt that generally what wrestling is though?

Yeah, but at least in wrestling you wrestle so you can be popular/unpopular for being good/bad at wrestling. So far on this show, there's no wrestling.

You can try at any rate. I think we can all look back over the years and state with honesty that if you have to choose between being good in the ring and being good on the mike it's far better to be good on the mike.

Well the wrestling would be crap anyway. They can train them to wrestle properly once they win it. Conversely we aint going to get another Andy Levine where he has a decent look and some ability but was devoid of character.

Honestly, Patrick is better off getting eliminated. It's the guys who get hired after that do best.

They put that a lot kinder than I would. Thing is I get why people like ZZ. He's got a persona. Make the man a manager and haze the fuck out of him but there are plenty of guys out there who cannot do their own mike work to save their goddamn lives.

Still that guy makes me sad.

It was also sad watching them try to climb rope. You don't so much pull yourself up the rope with your arms as you do balance with your arms and push yourself up wit your legs and if you don't understand that shit is hard as fuck. If you do, it's not bad at all.

Really dislike the format of the show.

And bottom line is... if they really wanted the winners of Tough Enough to pan out, they wouldn't rely on the "fans" to vote. Especially since we all know that the casual fan are generally morons. You know, the ones that boo the heels no matter how great they are and cheer the faces, just because.

Then again, whether or not the fans vote... tough enough winners generally don't pan out anyway. Glad we got NXT regardless.

If you read people's thoughts on talent like Rockstar Spud and Grado in TNA you'd understand why ZZ isn't just liked by the moron casual fan. Just look at Paul Heyman, most captivating talent in the comapny (arguably) and he's not even a wrestler. The only other guy I'd say was more captivating is the guy he manages, Lesnar.

The other thing, fans should boo the bad guy and cheer the good guy, that's kind of the point, that's means those wrestlers are doing their jobs.
