WrestlingInc reported that there is still an intent to group the lads together, however the creative team are trying to suss out the best way to utilise them. Either as angry heels or as a 'face team.
While I'd prefer that they were aligned with the angels I am curious to see what way they would be pushed.
I really don't want a New Nation, or really even anything that alludes to a racial angle.
Not a fan of black wrestlers playing into black-stereotypes. Like R-Truth, lovely fella, but an immensely offensive character. Likewise for Cryme Tyme.
Let's just have them be awesome.

Maybe they have been overlooked, and they're working to overcome that, to better themselves and their position. Maybe overlooking them was cognitive bias and something not purposeful or inherently malicious. What's so wrong about fighting for what you think you deserve?

That puts four teams in the villain bin. Dust Busters, Wyatts, Rybaxel and Slator Gator...
If Purpose was face, not only could they face these teams, but also the Usos, Colossal Connection and Los Matadores in face v. face matches. Heel vs. heel matches are harder to do, and having Purpose heel would significantly limit the potential match options...
Do you want them to be able to face three teams or seven teams?

New Nation would be faces. Kofi might be a lifetime face, but he needs to get serious. Sorry kids, he's dry as hell. And while he may never be a world champion, he needs to look more credible.

I guess we should all be thankful they didn't go about their normal go-about of naming a tag team, which is just pasting both names together. Otherwise we'd have something like E-Boom or Kof-E.

I like Speed Force if only because it's a pretty obvious reference to The Flash. It also could be worse. I like The Smart and Athletic Friends if they're heel.
I dunno. Smart and Athletic Friends just... ain't a wrestling name. Heel or face, it's something I'd never ever take seriously. And Speed Force, it sounds like something you'd see in the cheap and forgotten section of Kay Bee Toys.
Smart and Athletic Friends is a great name. The only way to do it one better is to be called the Best Friends Gang!
Like I said, I only like it because of the comic book reference. And while I don't think they in particular should be Smart and Athletic Friends, it would be brilliant as a heel tag team/stable that are full of themselves and are often comedic. Sort of like Jericho and Christian.

Am I the only one who is excited for what they are doing with New Day? I mean yeah, it took them forever to figure out what they were doing with them but I think that was for the better ...given the ideas that were rumored or hinted to before these vignettes. I mean it seemed that they WERE going to be a new nation with Woods as a Malcolm X type ...and really it seemed to be reaction due to the accusation of racism. Vince, of course, reacted like Vince does by saying 'you want to see racist, I'll give your racist.' It seems like common sense prevailed but there was one problem: people dug the trio together. So they were off television and trying different things out on house shows and went through a couple of terrible (but hilarious) names like the Intelligent and Athletic Friends and Speed Force. It is nice they tried those out on house shows and not married to it by putting it on television. This New Day idea is much better and different than any of those ideas. It is still culturally specific with the choir and gospel feel but it isn't stereotypical like Cryme Tyme (Black people steel things) or the Nation (Black People hate white people). I think there is a BIG difference between taking elements that make a race's culture unique and just straight up making a stereotypes. This I think is taking the high road (*gasp*) and works better for these three because I don't think people want to boo Big E and Kofi. And, so far, I like that the gimmick is giving each man some mic time as Big E is EXTREMELY charismatic when allowed to speak, speaking seems to be Wood's strength, and it is nice to see Kofi allowed to speak for once.
All in all, I like it and while it won't propel them into the main event, I hope it gets them a good tag team title run at some point.
I'm excited. They've taken a very different direction than expected and I think one that will be much more interesting and entertaining. 'Bout time Kofi and Big E got a chance to show some personality. Look forward to seeing what these guys do. Rumors are they might debut at Survivor Series.
You know ...I am not one to say all of a certain group of people should be grouped together ...but I think adding Naomi to this group would be PERFECT as she is a very charismatic strong female competitor who just needs the right angle to springboard off of it. I think she would mesh well with what they have going.

I liked the final promo for them on Monday. It really did a good job of bringing it all together and explaining what the whole point is. I think a good tag team title feud with them and Miz/Mizdow is in the cards.

These guys have been in fire with this, fair play to them as it looked like it was going to be shitted on and another group failed. Made up for Kofi who have been a fan since day one that he can finally show he can do something else, also made me a fan of Woods and Big E.

I've said this before but I don't expect everyone to remember my posts but a big issue I have is that this stable is corny, I'm not into it mainly because I can see more from Big E on his own with Xavier as his mouthpiece. Kofi, I've never liked him. Impressive with the high flying but I've never once been a fan. Xavier could be a good manager for Big E. What some people find entertaining when it comes to pro wrestling is beyond me, what the New Day are doing....I don't know. Maybe I'll come around when it's not cool to clap with them anymore.

Nowt wrong with Kofi being in the stable, in fact it's made him a heck of a lot more interesting.
Xavier is the annoying mouthpiece on the outside who plays trombone, Kofi's the high-flyer while Big E brings the power. They all bring something different to the table whilst also getting to show off their fun-loving personality where E and Kofi were restricted before.
I don't get the appeal. Three black wrestlers with nothing else to do teaming together and acting awkward/unnatural.
I love them as a group, and Langston was already one of my favorites. Kingston is much fresher now, and Xavier Woods needed a chance like this to show his talents. The pessimist in me fears a face turn and lameness or the WWE deciding they're getting over and so stripping away everything that makes them interesting. It's incredible that it's been allowed to continue in all honesty, because the WWE doesn't like stuff that's funny. Every single thing they do is awesome.
Yeah Langston is really breaking out of his shell. He's still the weakest out of the group for me, but still entertaining.
Kofi's clapping thing is hysterical.

They're not acting awkward. If anything, it's the most natural any of them have been in a while.
These 3 dudes are amazing. I have been loving what they have been doing the last 4/5 months. They get better each week. I love Kofis cheesing troll face he does clapping down to the ring. They have really become one the main things to watch on any WWE show.
They're awesome, honestly they are the only thing on Raw I constantly enjoy.

I can't say how happy I am to see them really troll the local crowd these last couple of appearances. Its very smart. Go right for the cheap heel pop. They can get the crowd to boo while making the rest of us watching at home, laugh.
Kofi looks ridiculous and Big E's act looks forced. The guy that used to be Consequences Creed (forgive me I don't know what WWE is calling him) does seem natural though.
