I don't give a fuck how metal, country, punk, hip hop, etc. that you are, when this song hits during the Summer you show the love and respect it deserves. I'm not really big on songs that fit the season (christmas songs, thong song, lol) but this one is an exception to the rule. I was always a big fan of Fresh Prince.

First music I ever heard of Necro's. My friend and I were looking for a producer back in 2001 and so we hit up a local hip hop clothing store that sold local rap cd's and mixtapes. We told the owner the sound we were looking for, something dark like Esham and he goes "Have you ever heard of Necro"....Found Gory Days on Kaza and downloaded a couple tracks, blew my fucking mind. The hardest shit I had heard up until that point was Bedlam....Necro was like Troma on wax. Love his shit, beats are super fucking fire and the lyrics are just wild.
This is my favorite Necro album of all time. I swear, he pretty much raps the same on every song but it's the content and the sick beats combined, fuck you up right.

The Sword are amazing. Love all their albums. Gods of the Earth is probably my favorite, but Age of Winters brings me a lot of nostalgia.
It's too bad their live show doesn't completely live up to their albums, but they still rock on the stage.

Anyone into Ska-punk? I saw Streetlight Manifesto live a few weeks ago... this band opened up for them and stole the show from them. A JAPANESE ska band, didn't know such a thing existed but I'm a huge fan now.
Giving the album a listen now. The title track (above) was a great single/video.
Just listened to Matthew Good's "Beautiful Midnight Revisited" and have no idea why he decided to redo five amazing tracks and ruin them 18 years later.
It's fucking dreadful.

A lot of driving in my new line of work and though I am not a truck driver, I've taken to listening to trucker songs sometimes.
I always loved this song. Lisa "One Night" Standing sings in The Abyss when she's driving that sub at the beginning of the movie. That's the Linda Ronstadt version which is the one I've always heard and liked.
I recently found this version by the Black Crowes which may be even better.

This was right when I was first hearing gangsta rap. I remember just really being into Ice-T and Ice Cube, and I was only 9-10 years old. Something about the visuals, the beats, the lyrics, I have no idea really what would be intriguing to a white kid from Des Moines, IA but it was. I guess no different than being interested in horror movies even though I didn't live in a small town in Maine with a killer clown entity killing all the kids. I'm just glad to be the age I am to have been able to be alive these 30+ years as opposed to being like my parents age and not really getting the variety.
With that said, if you don't love this track then you're not coming to my birthday party.

Been slowly getting more and more into Company Flow over the last few months. This whole instrumental album is great.
I haven't listened to Company Flow in years. I'm gonna have to dl some stuff tonight. I've been stuck on Skrapz for a minute.
Still a favorite many years after I first heard it. Seen him about 10 years back but forgot about him for awhile through his many character changes and personas used for music. Had a good thing for awhile but only really listen to his older stuff such as this now.
Did you ever listen to the Level Jumpers stuff they(Halfbreed) started doing? I guess Level Jumpers was the direction HOK was going to eventually go. More straight up backpacker type hip hop, no wicked shit. HOK's Head Trauma supposedly had some inklings of this via rumors on the net, songs like "Don't Follow Me", "Renditions of Reality", a few others. Plus I think it was the first album where they showed their actual faces outside of promo pics from like before Season of the Pumpkin.
Yeah man, I had everything from House of Krazees, Halfbreed, Level Jumpers, and all of the solo stuff from Sol/R.O.C. and Skrapz. I lost it all though. I don't think I'll ever be able to replace some of it. Anyways.....

Just found my "Tongues" cd, surprised it still plays as scratched up as it is. Love this song. This whole album is great, Esham basically making it a 27 song diss album on Eminem.
God dam I love this. It is like almost something you'd hear on a rpg Nintendo game. I miss 8-bit soundtracks.
I don't listen to much rap across the pond but this shit is great.
