One footballer, who has played in the Premier League, has played international football in four decades.

    Who is that.

Mark Scwarzer must go pretty close... though I think he might have only done youth in the 80s and senior in early 90s.

I have kindly been donated a question...

Solskjaer must be one. I vaguely remember being surprised to read Les Ferdinand took few, if any, penalties?

I don't think he took penalties even when he was here in Oz so I am going to go with Emile Ivanhoe Heskey.

Eight of an international team's top ten most capped players were on the field at the same time in one high profile game. Name the team and the game.

Are we only counting 'high profile' matches then? Spain have come close a few times over the years at big tournaments but could've done it in qualifiers.

Ok is the answer 8 of the ten most capped at the time of the match or overall?

Because France have loads of games between 1998 and 2002 where that would be applicable.

It's an odd question because those French players weren't the most capped at the time. Croatia beat it in Euro 2008 against Turkey. The only player not in their top 10 most capped players on the pitch was Danijel Prajnic. They could have had a full 11 but Dario Simic was on the bench.

More likely to be some centre back that only ever passes sideways. I'll guess Otamendi or Stones at City. Actually it could be one of ours, Vertonghen and Alderweireld like to pass the ball between them for 15-20 minutes each match.

I looked it up. Close. Not surprised by who is top but more just how many more passes they've attempted and completed than number 2. Adam Forshaw is 11!!

It depends upon the criteria whether completed passes or including long balls but Kante is top 5. This player is top by about 20% whichever way you look at it.

It's a midfielder, defenders don't actually pass that much.

Its going to be a team that control games then. Liverpool or Arsenal most likely. Henderson? Cazorla?

Henderson is number 1 and Cazorla is probably number 2.

The fewest is any midfielder in a Tony Pulis side.

44 players have played every minute of the Premier League season so far this season. Two have missed just two minutes of action. Who are they?

Ummmmmm, I don't follow the PL much so could be way off but for some reason I'm thinking defenders so, Mertasacker, Smalling, Otamendi.

You're being fooled by good tactics. There are players that do what he does and a lot more. Dier and to a much bigger extent Dembele spring to mind.

Ah yes, I suppose I'm just too stupid to understand football properly. Wanyama has been excellent since he joined the side. Far outperforming Dier (who is fantastic) in the same role.

His goal the other day is a perfect example of what Russell should be used for. He can run fast and kick the ball hard which he does to very good effect, so play him as a striker. When he has time to think or has to adopt positions to create space he is a thick footballer.

Not particularly personal, but you dismissing it as me not understanding a player I'll have seen a lot more of than you this season seems pretty dopey.

Don't be that guy that accuses people of getting upset when they disagree with you, it's a weak arguing tactic that is easily seen through.

It has nothing to do with me being a Tottenham fan. Obviously. I'm happy to criticise Spurs players when they play badly, God knows I've had enough experience of it.

As a general rule, seeing a player play regularly probably means your opinion is worth more than someone that doesn't. I wouldn't try to jump in and tell BBF why *checks Wikipedia* Luke Gambin is not as good as he thinks. Of course the obvious response to that is to say not if that person knows fuck all about football...but literally everyone is saying what a great job Wanyama is doing at the moment. Have they all been tricked as well?

Yes, I disagree with those people too. I think his limitations are being very well disguised by the tactics that Poch employs. He only has to look centrally and has a very focussed area to cover with very good players around him. I don’t feel it’s a particularly impressive role that he plays and think many players could do it as well and many could contribute more. I would say his performances are fine, I’m not panning them, but I think he could be upgraded and I think those limitations will cost Spurs at some point.

I have been hugely impressed by Spurs this season. I have them as the most impressive team in the League and was baffled when Man City went odds on for the league after beating crap teams and Spurs odds doubled after beating or competing well against good sides.

There is subjectivity on these matters and I get as many wrong as right but that’s the nature of discussion. We have held differing opinions on Spurs players before in the face of widely spread opinion and been respectively right or wrong, it is irrelevant what widespread opinion is.

I can't agree at all. That's what I EXPECTED to think of him - that he was a solid defensive midfielder but a limited footballer, someone who might get found out playing for a team who see more of the ball (as happened with Palacios, who was exceptionally good when we were a crap, reactive side, but was quickly exposed when we improved and needed midfielders who could control a ball or pass three feet in front of them). But he has been so much more than that. He's even better defensively than I expected - not just winning the 50-50s but stealing balls where he has no right to and simply being far too big and strong for anyone to get past - but his technical ability is much better than I'd expected. He still keeps it simple for the most part, but he's comfortable with the ball under pressure and moves it forward to the creative players very quickly and intelligently. Dier was exceptional for us last season and I still think he will captain both Spurs and England one day - but he is on the bench deservedly at the moment, because Wanyama has made himself undroppable.

I have been hugely impressed by Spurs this season. I have them as the most impressive team in the League and was baffled when Man City went odds on for the league after beating crap teams and Spurs odds doubled after beating or competing well against good sides.
See this is the other side of the "I've seen more of us so I know better" coin - I don't think we've been as impressive as people are saying. Solid defensively for sure (and often quite lucky - teams have missed some really good chances this season that would have affected our results, particularly the Liverpool game) and with loads of energy, but not putting away the chances we create. City have gone off the boil a touch but I'd still expect them to win the league this season, and I think Liverpool have been far more convincing than us so far - where we've been lucky so far, they've been unlucky, and if that turns then they will be right up there.

There is subjectivity on these matters and I get as many wrong as right but that’s the nature of discussion. We have held differing opinions on Spurs players before in the face of widely spread opinion and been respectively right or wrong, it is irrelevant what widespread opinion is.
Come off it. As with any issue, if basically everyone is disagreeing with you ,you're probably wrong. Pointing out that it's subjective doesn't alter this - you can't factually prove me wrong if I say that Cameron Jerome is a better player than Luis Suarez, but I'd still be blatantly wrong. I don't subscribe to the idea that ex-pros or professional football writers' opinions are inherently more valuable than the average punter, but when EVERYONE is going on about Wanyama being brilliant and you're the only one who disagrees, it's a bit weak to just go "well it's all opinions and the overwhelming consensus is irrelevant".

Mesut Ozil was the fifth Arsenal player to score a Champions League hat trick. Name the other four.
