Will have a look at those over the next couple of days, nice one lads. I watched IMDB's highest-rated episode, Stress Relief, the other day and was surprised how little I remembered - it was brilliant though.
The editing or relative lack thereof for the sixth episode for Haunting of Hill House was really damn good.
 Holy shit that was a great episode. Really impressed. First couple episodes were mediocre but the past few have been an improvement and that was was really a standout. Looking forward to continuing on with it now.
Finished Haunting of Hill House last night. I thought the last two episodes were kind of a step down compared to the others but the series was a really great watch.
We just finished it, as well. Overall, bit of a mixed bag. Good-ish but not great. Definitely peaked with episode 6.Silly how I heard all this stuff about people fainting and puking watching it, that's either some goofy-ass marketing or some weak-ass people since it was barely a horror show and much more of a drama/thriller with supernatural elements.
I don't get scared very easily, but the show definitely creeped me out from time to time. The scale of the house itself and the way it was filmed definitely lent itself to being on edge as you were awaiting what was about to come into frame. Then the off-to-side shots of ghosts that weren't meant to be seen easily were a very nice touch.
The new Adam Sandler special "100% fresh" was really good, especially if you are a fan of his old albums and song parodies.

Omg is he funny again?
I mean no life lessons or touching moments?
We started 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' last night. I am intrigued.
there are a few touching moments. he does a Chris Farley tribute song, and an ode to his wife in the tune of "grow old with me" from Wedding Singer (but with new lyrics).
it's honestly one of my favorite comedy specials in recent years. there was one part about pussy farts that I thought should have been cut because it got a little too low brow but this was mainly classic Sand Man.
I thought it was terrible to be honest.
I got through it which is something I suppose but I found the acting to be fairly bad and parts dragged on way too long and become kind of pretentious in places.
I always find a big flaw in any horror type films is if you dont have any fondness for those being haunted and that's what happens here. I like Luke and Nell to some extent, the rest of them are all arseholes so I don't mind if they have bad things happen to them...
On the plus side the house looked pretty good.
Oh there is a great Korean show on Netflix called Black.
Basically a show about a bunch of grim reapers but has a mystery attached to it as well. Its long, 20 odd episodes all of which are film length but its so, so good.
Cant really describe the show without spoiling things or even giving it any justice as its kind of weird but anyone who wants a time sink show this comes highly recommended by me.
There is too fucking much to watch.
I started watching The 100 last night. Just the first episode, seems pretty cool. I like the vibe and the concept so far.
RuPaul's Dragrace. LOOOOOOOOOOVE.
Dragrace should not be good. It, in fact, should be god awful and dumb.
In reality, it is one of the best reality/competition shows of all time.
Yasss Queen.
F is For Family coming back the 30th.
https://youtu.be/0U94RUsVj2w
The most hit or miss show ever. I like it but some episodes are absolute dogshit.
Outlaw King is well worth a watch.
That Coen brothers movie wasn't very good. What the fuck was that?
Defiant ones is very good on UK Netflix
F Is For Family is hit and miss.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs?
Watched it today, it’s ... odd.
I quite liked a couple of the segments but most of them just felt unfinished, there’s a difference between being enigmatic and leaving things to the viewers imagination and just being an obtuse arse.
Narcos: Mexico is solid. It reminds me of the 1st season of the show; gritty, well acted and good story. I would recommend checking it out. Diego Luna is fantastic.
Anyone check out "Cam"? Watched it this past weekend and really loved it. Interesting take on identity theft in the camming world. Great performance by the lead actress, and pretty creepy film. Give it 8/10.
Is that the one with Colin Hanks?
Nope must be thinking of something else.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. I honestly wish there were more films that took tbis risk. I don't think you'll ever see this format do well in the theaters. I will say the movie leads off with its best story, and never recovers the steam. It's all dark stories inline with what I've come to expect from the Coen brothers.
PAN SHOT!!!
I did love the first story, and the prospector, for me they were the pick of the bunch.
I don’t think any were ‘bad’ just a couple were unpolished and the non endings became a little trite.
We began season 3 of F Is For Family and I like it more this time around.
There's a new true crime documentary called Innocent Man out today. It looks pretty dark from the trailer.
What's the best true crime and best horror/scary stuff out on Netflix now?
I don't remember if it's on Netflix or Hulu, but Buzzfeed Unsolved is highly entertaining. They have a True Crime series and a Supernatural series.
I didn't like this season of F is for Family as much as past seasons but it was still pretty good. Love Bojack but also thought this last season was a bit weaker than previous ones, as well. Still, I fucking love the bleak, depressing, life doesn't always work out and people fuck up and all that jazz of them both.
The Staircase trailer I saw looked like it should be good. Thanks for those!
One Punch Man - excellente, molto bene! My first anime series and it just has joyful warm humour to it. Looking forward to season two next year.
No Activity - Almost finished season two, this show is the bees shaking knees. Jason Mantanous, Will Ferrel, Tim Meadows and a slew of guest stars. Basically its two hopeless cops on a stake out watching equally hopeless criminals. Highly recommended if your not allergic to laughter.
Bojack - Ok i watched this a couple of months ago as soon as the new season hit but the non-ultimate praise above led me to mention that i thought that bar one or two episodes it was back to its very dark and silly best after a somewhat disappointing season four where it just seemed like one big arc. Similarly South Park has been back to its best this season with self contained episodes rather than last seasons labotomous and tedious presidential storyline. Bojack season six has been ordered!!
Another gem that many people wouldnt know is Bored to Death which starred Zch Galifinakus, Jason Scwhartsmen and ted danson which is funny and adorable at the same time.
Bird Box is out today on Netflix. Supposed to be decent, and has Sandra Bullock. Post-apocalyptic type deal. Will probably watch it over the weekend
To All The Boys I Loved Before was cute.
The Innocent Man is not a good series. It was like a crappy 60 minute documentary on the Crime Network that lost all of its structure and got spread across 6 episodes.
I thought the end of 5 when they provided new names was when it got interesting. It's clearly a travesty of justice but to make a good series they needed more information about the case and who might have done it, which basically they don't have. That's the reason they're still in jail too.
Bird Box - Great film. I loved the way they told the story, jumping back-and-forth between present and past events. Bullock was incredible. I find myself despising most of her films, but she nailed it here. Just an overall exciting movie with a lot of things that were well done.
I thought she was good. After popping up at the beginning I couldn't help but keep thinking how much better Sarah Paulson would have been in the lead though. Maybe a tad more believable as a pregnant lady. Bullock is still gorgeous but that doesn't change the fact that she's 73.
Anyway Bird Box is a decent movie. Well done for what it is. Which is a movie were you don't ever get to see the thing. And I hate to be that guy but fuck it I'm that guy.
And I always want to see the fucking thing.
Even if it's one of those things where the fucking thing can be any fucking thing. I still want to see the fucking thing.
So it's good for a movie where you don't fucking see the fucking thing.
What does her physical appearance have to do with her believability as the lead character?
Nothing. But I know how old she is because I've had a crush on her since 7th grade and she ain't having no babies. It's just a small gripe/joke. She was fine.
Cannot wait to check out Black Mirror: Bandersnatch.
Aggretsuko Christmas special was great. Such an underrated show. She is my spirit animal.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch - WOAHHHHH! Amazing.
I may have to watch Bird Box now!
Aggretsuko left me depressed. I liked the ending though.
Bird box sounds like it'd be about Dee Reynolds vagina
dbl pst srry
Going to move all the Bandersnatch stuff to the Black Mirror thread.
Paddington is so cute! I loved it.
Bird Box was pretty meh to me. Alright, but nothing special.
Been watching Sunderland Til I Die on Netflix. A genuinely very interesting study of football and it’s impact on the local surroundings.
I've just started watching that now, good stuff so far.
From a pure entertainment perspective it is also a refreshing break from corporate documentaries like the ones about Juve or Man City. It’s a bit more warts and all and you know that things are going to from shit to shitter to shitter.
Just finished You on Netflix - man becomes obsessed with a woman and goes to sinister lengths to get rid of people in her life who are bad for her. Pulpy but enjoyable. His stream-of-consciousness narration is very good - they find plenty of funny moments in a dark concept and subvert some of the typical themes and twists. Didn't expect to be wanting a second season for this kind of show, but I thought the finale was terrific.
On behalf of our nation i would like to publicly apologise for Martin Bain. What a complete idiot. Again sorry.
He comes across better in the documentary than he did before it, and also better than Ellis Short. But both of those are low benchmarks.
Really enjoyed Bird Box, I'd give it 8/10. The use of flashback for storytelling here was really effective and I thought Bullock knocked it out of the park with her performance. Very strong. Malkovich played the same character that he plays in all films, but I didn't find him too distracting. Story itself was incredibly interesting, and a different spin on the post-apocalyptic genre. That they ultimately found solace where they did was pretty cool (without giving spoilers) and the use of birds was cool. Anyways, I liked it a lot, and was pleasantly surprised.
It won’t win any awards for acting, but it’s perfectly good bingable trashy TV. I think the lead is very good. Could have been a very dark show, but the humour and colourful characters keep it interesting. I have to say I rooted for him against some of the other awful people in Beck’s life and when she screws him around from time to time. Peach is a terrific bitch, Also I love his instant reaction to situations within the narration, like when he sees Beck with a man and says to himself “Beck who the FUCK is this?” or when his monologue during a stalk in the park falls apart when he gets too tired from jogging.
Bird Box was okayish. Good enough to hold my interest but a bit hard to swallow at times and kind of fell off for me as it went on.
Enjoyed Bird Box minus the ending. Way too cheesy for me.
From what I've read, the book's ending sounds better.
Better a tadger than a badger
Began 'You' today, it's a pretty fun thriller/mystery series.
I peeped the first episode of Haunting of Hill House and that shit is hella lame. It's boring and I ain't wasting my time on a show about a lesbian bitch.
Haunting of hill house picks up super hard in episode three.
My girlfriend binged it and was begging me to watch it and the first two episodes didn't grab me. Finally turned on the third recently and finished the rest in a few days

They also get told to pray a lot so maybe that'll tickle you DVDA
