Fair enough. It's more that I could see people turned off by it.
I plan to check out Succession at some point but I just started Yellowjackets with my wife. We've only watched 1 episode but I'm interested to watch more.

Caught up to episode 8 with 9 and 10 still yet to air. It's a good show. I was worried it would be similar to that The Wilds show but there's a flash forward 20 years later for when they're adults and fucked up from what happened on the island so it's different.
Either there's no thread for The Boys or our search system sucks.

Finished “Boardwalk Empire” last night, it was decent.
My top-3 remains “The Shield”/“The Wire”/“The Sopranos” in that order, but we’re honestly splitting hairs.
I’m running through “Tacoma FD” as my current comedy show, will probably check out “Homeland” as my next drama, am working on “Sons of Anarchy” with a buddy.
EDIT: The final seasons of “Peaky Blinders” and “Better Call Saul” are imminent, so my dance card is getting pretty full…
Has anyone watched Euphoria? My wife saw a trailer the other day for the second season and wants to watch the first. Anyone know if it’s any good?
That's on my HBOmax watch list.
Speaking of HBOmax last night after AEW Rampage this documentary called Class Action Park was on but someone on reddit let me know it was on HBOmax so I watched it without commercials.
It's a great documentary about a water park with pretty much no rules and very little safety protocols in the 80s. Very interesting and there's worse ways to kill 90 minutes.
Last night I watched Succession season 1 episode 1. It was good. I can already tell just based on the type of show this is and from the positive public reaction that this show will be up my alley. And the series premiere was solid, it only reaffirmed that this will be a show that will grab me. Brian Cox is the man.
Onto the Succession train I go.

Fuck this. I don't care that it's executive produced by Will, fuck it.
It looks like it could be good but I find it hilarious that this drama is based on that hokey early 90s sitcom.
Because Will Smith has always wanted us to remember the "Why don't he want me man?" moment above and beyond the DJ Jazzy Jeff gets comically thrown out the front door moments which were much more what the show was.
Fresh Prince and Blossom...because we needed something to watch until Raw started.
I kinda wanna see it.
Anyone watched Station 11? I'm looking into it as a possibility.
I watched the trailer and it didn't grab me. It looked boring which is kind of amazing considering the subject matter.
Too many good shows to watch to waste time on boring ones.
Peacemaker show is good. If you liked the new suicide squad you'll like it.
On that note

I like that between the Peacemaker into and the Bel Air trailer, Bel Air is the one that seems unreal.
Netflix increasing prices again... I'm about to find an account to borrow if this keeps up.
Yes they are. Thankfully we pay the cheapest version too.
A couple of my previously favorite shows (Blue Bloods, NCIS:LA) have seemingly jumped the shark due to longevity, the quality has dropped considerably over the past two seasons. I feel like showrunners should make major cast changes once they hit a certain point, say season 8-9, to give the show a spark by giving them some new storylines to explore.
It feels wholly unnecessary to tag the following with spoilers because these are my thoughts on network shows that are easily accessible if one were so inclined. Nonetheless…
Justified is going to have a new mini series similar to Dexter New Blood I assume.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv...nt-1235075243/
I'm down.
My wife will love that shit. I'd have loved it too but she got into it before me and I never caught up though I've seen bits. Similar to Saul.
Anyway Dexter has proven you can come back and be bigger than ever and now everyone is going to cash in. I bet that True Blood reboot will happen now as well.
There’s discussions about a True Blood reboot? No. Just...no. The last two seasons were awful.
Now, if we’re discussing a prequel series about how the vampires started or how they got through the Middle Ages, cool. Even if they just wanted to do a series in how vampires came to the US and what they did before coming out of the coffin, that could be cool too.
Oh yeah a long while back HBO announced it but with zero details other than it wasn't a continuation of the old story but would have Alan Ball back in some capacity to steer the show. Which was the only part that caught my ear because he makes good TV. True Blood went to shit the second he left it.
But there's been zero on the news front ever since. Im thinking some of these reboots having success get the project going again. I'd bet anything.

Posting this here because of Belair.
I saw this yesterday. Enjoyed it as well.
Bert, as the only other person I know who definitely watched all 3 episodes of Peacemaker, has the song been stuck in your head since Thursday?
I don't even remember what the song is right now so I guess not.
My wife watches tiktoks all of the time and we were watching Yellowjackets and the original version of the tiktok song came on and I started saying the remix part because I've heard it so many fucking times, so that's where I'm at.

Yellowjackets is good, I'm glad it's getting a season 2 though because season 1 ended with more questions than answers.
How do you not know Wig Wam's Do You Really Wanna Taste it?
SOMETIMES ITS LIKE YOU DON'T RESPECT EUROVISION AT ALL
Sorry, things got heated there.
I know a lot of songs but don't know the artist. I was surprised when I got into Chris Cornell, unfortunately after he died, how many Soundgarden and Audioslave songs I knew and liked but had no idea who the artist was.
Interesting fact about Peacemaker, apparently the actor playing Vigilante was recast after they shot 5 episodes and all of the scenes from the first 5 episodes were reshot with a new actor. I really thought the new actor nailed the character. His chemistry with Cena is great.
that's interesting. Yeah, I agree about his chemistry with Cena. They've got a good dynamic. I think episode 3 was the strongest so far, so looking forward to seeing if they can keep the momentum.
I looked up the song after it got stuck in my head. Full confession: I was not aware of Wig Wam and their Eurovision work previously. But James Gunn, so obviously fun as hell soundtrack.
You chose poorly.
I haven't watched succession yet, I just wanted to use that line.

I just finished the series last year. I wonder how you pull this off in 2022 or 2023 or whatever.
I am midway through season 2 of Succession and already dreading catching up and having no more episodes to watch. It's my favorite new show in a while.
Ozark is coming SOOOOOON!!!!
Archive 81 on Netflix is quality. 8 episodes and will probably have a season 2. It's a cult horror, time travel, dimension travel type of series. I recommend it.
Yeah I've seen the first 2 eps and it's very well done. I'd have seen more but I'm also midway into season 2 of Yellowstone, I have ozark to watch and I'm super into this new CBS show called Ghosts. I'm gonna catch up to the whole thing and then start the British version on HBO Max.
Kevin Smith should totally revive Comic Book Men.
There was a great run of podcasts he did last year that sort of chronicled the history of the show and of the Stash. There is apparently an all new store but Walt has pretty much retired. All of them clearly loved doing the show though.
I bet he could get it onto a streaming platform looking for content if he really tried.
As I recall, when it was cancelled "no longer financially stable" was the reasoning cited by AMC, but seeing as how it has been 4 years and the landscape has changed, I figure he definitely could find a home for it on a streaming platform. Then again, it's essentially a podcast so he could bring it back that way too.
Any love for Hulu's Reservation Dogs? They've got a season 2 on the way.
I'm not too hip to too many shows that could compare to it, but the first thing that came to mind after watching the first 3 episodes was of course Freaks and Geeks. For its realness and comedic qualities as it focuses on a group of youngens. It's not set in any American past except for some flashbacks, but being based on an NDN reservation, it is somewhat placed outside of time.
I've never been on a reservation(been to some casinos though) because I was naive and scared when I was invited (did not yet know/remember my indigenous roots), but having spent years living with NDNs, I can say the show is spot-on in its accuracy of how the natives are portrayed, including the way it crushes the stereotypes we've been taught (that ndns basically sit outside of their shacks and consume alcohol in misery, in the deadly far western sun).
Highly recommend Reservation Dogs, despite its kind of second-rate, borrowed title. It does reference and give credit to the Tarantino film, so don't let its somewhat parodic advertising deter you.
Love it. Just haven't finished it yet because my plate is too full.
I fully caught up on Succession. I love this show. Third season was maybe the best one yet.
Nearly done with Ozark but I've been mixing in All of Us Are Dead, Yellowstone and Archive 81.
Gonna start Reacher and see how it goes. Looks like it could be a fun action series
I just started All of Us Are Dead. Idk if you're into anime but there's one called Highschool of the Dead and this has a similar vibe so far.
I want to check out Archive 81 but I chose to start Pennyworth instead.
I like the guy playing Reacher, he played Hawk in the Teen Titans HBO Max series.

I'm enjoying Pam & Tommy. The first 4 episodes are out and they're doing weekly drops. Episode 2 was a little boring because it focused just on Pam & Tommy's backstory and it didn't have Seth Rogen's character. The show definitely works better when it's a combo of the couple and Seth, who plays the disgruntled carpenter who acquired and leaked their sex tape. Ep 3 and 4 were back on track. Fun stuff, I would definitely recommend.
Did the first two episodes of “Power” last night, it’s been on my list for ages. Plus, I’ve watched numerous promos for the multiple spin-off series and thought that I should really get after it.
never really watched it back in the day but i started watching buffy the vampire slayer on amazon video. half way through the second season. what a great show.
Really enjoyed Buffy as it was on
Second season was very strong.
Started Yellowjackets and it's awesome. Two eps in.
I started Mayor of Kingstown. I didn't see that ending to episode 1 coming.
Watched all of Yellowstone, beginning to end, over the last two weeks. Really an enjoyable watch. The drama is quite palpable.
I did season 1 recently too. When it was on back in the day, I started at season 4, but later went back and watched the earlier seasons. Never did see season 7 though.
I remember seasons 2 and 3 being the strongest, so will get back to this.
With Angel, only ever saw season 1 and maybe 2. May go back to this also.
Started “Frasier” from the pilot.
I need a comedy series as balance, thought I’d give it a shot as most of the humor probably went over my head because I was too young when it originally aired.
Super pumped about that, best believe I’ll crush that season repeatedly.
Have questions how they’ll handle a whole series based on a character whose face we’ve never seen, but I feel Keeso and crew have earned the benefit of the doubt. I trust them.
Just finished Saturday Morning All Star Hits on Netflix this afternoon. I was going to say "if you grew up watching 80s/90s Saturday morning cartoons" but knowing the general age here, it's not a matter of "if" 'cuz we all did...but this show NAILS the vibes hard and parodies it really well, so "if" you did, I think you'll get a kick out of it. It's basically like old VHS recordings of a cartoon block with hosts that becomes an ongoing narrative over the course of the episodes. I wouldn't say it's a lot of laugh out loud funny jokes but it's more the humor of the satire and ideas/plot and whatnot that are where the shine is. The first couple episodes set the tone before the overall plot really starts kicking in.
Nearly done with Yellowjackets and this shit is gooooood.
Really enjoyed Peacemaker. Felt they nailed the ending, and set-up for next season.
Oh yeah it has “companion” in the title lol
@Bert
1st teaser for the Terminal List. My hype is off the charts for this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpKf-eo5DsU
Wow, when they say teaser they aren't kidding. Looks awesome though.
Finished the Reacher series last night. Very much enjoyed it, especially the fight scenes. I read the book years ago so I don't remember how close it was to the book but it was a great watch. Infinitely better than the Tom Cruise movies.
The Boys is back June 3rd.
Bert, have you watched "Our Flag Means Death"
I'm not sure who else has HBO max. Did watch the first episode and enjoyed it.
For those curious, if you enjoy What We Do in The Shadows, this is up your alley
If you enjoy Wha
I do enjoy What We Do In The Shadows but I'm not sure I want to watch another show that's the same thing.
I began season 2 of 911 and began season 1 of M*A*S*H
I finished Pam and Tommy. Overall a solid show, one I would recommend, but not a true must-watch if the story doesn't appeal to you. The strongest element IMO was the casting, especially the two leads (Lily James and Sebastian Stan). The story is definitely interesting enough for a series and good for 90s nostalgia, but stretched out over 8 episodes it sometimes got dull and it lacked a true climax.
It's crazy the prosthetics those two went through for that show. Me and my wife finished it tonight. I had to watch it when I learned Sebastian Stan was in it. I'm a mark for that dude.
