What do I know? Bolivia lead. They scored as soon as Torn gave up on the match.
Have been watching the Copa America since Monday and the odd Under 17s World Cup match. The two semi-finals last night were great.
Uruguay made Brazil pay at the back and beat them 3-0, whilst Germany/Mexico was mental.
Germany have been scoring for fun but England caused them a few problems in the last round to bring it back to 3-2. So it was the tournament's best team taking on the hosts Mexico. Stadium was packed too. Here Mexico went ahead, only for Germany to come from behind with two great goals. Mexico then scored straight from a corner when the Mexican number 8 threw himself at the German defender to take him out and ended up bleeding everywhere. He got all bandaged up like Steve Butcher and then scored a bicycle kick in the 90th minute to win the match.
Mexico vs. Uruguay in the final at ESTADIO AZTECA. Should be class.
I love this tournament because you're guaranteed to have some future world stars on show alongside other prospects who for one reason or another will never amount to anything and end up playing in the Estonian 3rd Division.
Souleymane Coulibaly, Samed Yesil, Lucas Piazon, Carlos Fierro, Emre Can, Wallace, Ademilson, Mitchell Weiser. A couple of that bunch will almost certainly be global superstars, whilst the other names you'll never hear again.
Azteca and class are two things that do not belong together.
Chile/Uruguay on now. Two fun sides. Starting to get going.
just off to bed, but the shot from suarez that cliped the bar and the bulid up for that was brilliant.
Uruguay are brilliant to watch.
Paraguay have come from behind to go 2-1 up against Brazil. Andre Santos at fault for one, Dani Alves for the other. Should be a cracking final 25 minutes.
Fred's late equalizer was delightful.
Great game in the old 3rd/4th playoff at the under 17s. 4-3 to Germany. Watch out for Samed Yesil and Okan Aydin in the future. Talent. Germany seem to have an endless stream of classy attacking players coming through.
Women's World Cup time... Australia lost 3-1 to Sweden overnight. Check out this beauty though.

Nice goal too. Gawd, Ellyse Perry is hot.

Yeah, that was mad.
Copa America last night was a laugh.
Peru beat the in form Colombia with two extra time goals. Big upset considering a) how good Colombia have looked so far and b) that Peru are without their two biggest goal threats in Pizarro and Farfan.
Uruguay knocked out Argentina on pens. Uruguay had to play 75 minutes with 10 men as well. Muslera made some absolutely cracking saves. Really hoping for a Uruguay/Chile final now. Love those two teams.
Was going to say a Uruguay/Chile final would be superb. Hope Chile win the whole thing. Love them.
Colombia missed a penalty with about 15 minutes to go. If you don't take your chances, you deserve what you get. Peru have been surprisingly good so far.
Uruguay/Argentina was great.
Hoping Paraguay can beat Brazil today.
Then its Uruguay/Peru vs Chile/Venezuela/Paraguay. Great final regardless.
Instead of those shit Brazilians sneaking their way to the title. As usual.
I'd rather see Brazil do Paraguay and lose to MAGNIFICENT CHILE who are the best.
You do know what happened in the last 2 tournaments Brazil/Chile faced off?
I'd rather Brazil went out sooner, then Chile can see off Paraguay.
Paraguay are boring. Chile are my boys. They can beat the Brazilians.
i fucking hate Neymar. stupid haircut and biggest diver in football
Also, as much as it pains me to say it, Luis Suarez really is quality. I was quite wrong about him.
I have no idea what happens to Messi when he's in the Argentinian team. I don't buy that it's completely down to his teammates at Barca, because Messi often outshines them and it's not as if they're putting everything on a plate for him. Probably more to do with the manager's tactics, three defensive midfielders in your starting eleven is a bit much.
It's tactics, KMH.
You can have all the greats in the world, but if you can set the team to use them well, they're hopeless.
Scotland also have this problem internationally at times, except you know without all the world class people. Making the comparison rubbish.
Anyone watching the Womens World Cup final?
Its been tremendous so far.
Someone wanna fill me in on the big Euro transfers, or link me to a site that has them.
I find it frustrating that our media doesn't report them.
Looking at that transfer list I didn't realise how balls out Juve have gone.
Pepe, Quagliarella, Lichsteiner, Motta, Matri, Ziegler and Pirlo all coming in. Lazio have a good looking strikeforce too, Klose and Djibril Cisse for 6million Euros combined.
Equalizer. Japan's done very well.
Lucas has been sent off for getting punched in the face
In the penalties now. Japan has saved three in a row. They are up one.
Japan wins the Women's World Cup after pens (3-1). Japan did very well.
Worst penalty shootout I've ever seen.
Japan wins. The US was awful in the penalties. They should have done better just based on chance
Great game that.
Brazil vs Paraguay has just gone to pens as well.
Did anyone else watch that?? Paraguay win 2-0 on pens...
worst penalty shootout I have ever seen
Painful to watch.
Brazil still lost though, so it was great.
Mexes to Milan is a big one.
Why don't our media even make a gesture to this stuff?
Cisse and Klose both to Lazio.
It didn't involve the Premiership, so the media ain't interested.
Venezuela lead Chile!
Coentrao going to Madrid for the best part of £30m got only a cursory mention on the BBC site.
How much coverage do you think Ashley Young going to Manchester United probably got in Spain?
I find the BBC do a lot of Football League and Non-League reporting which I prefer to European news which is easy to find elsewhere.
If you look at the Sky Sports transfer centre it is mint for European transfers and reports most of the news. One of the things they have on there this morning is Hamsik saying he might stay at Napoli which would be cool.
So I'm watching Paraguay vs Venezuela and I've caught bits of other games and the play in Copa America has been dreadful. The Women's World Cup had higher quality from what I've seen. Very sloppy play all over the place.
Juventus have signed Arturo Vidal for €12m. A great signing I reckon, he's looked class for club and country. We've been linked with him over the last few days and I was keen, but it looks as though he was always Juve bound.
If they can get Rossi now they may finally be back in business as a top side.
We got linked with him as well. We're not going to sign anyone, fuck off.
Love this quote from the Napoli president after Cavani got injured at the Copa America with Uruguay:
:DQuote:
"Let's not joke around. If they've broken my Edinson, I'll kill them."
This is the second best side in the MLS.. oh dear

Giggs' pass for the second Owen chance was brilliant. I know he's 68 years old now but he looks better than ever in the few clips I've seen of him this pre-season.
Kasey Keller, what a dude.
EDIT: Did Rooney's transplant not take or something? He looks more bald now than he did when he had it done.
Any idea what's happening with Diouf/Macheda/Welbeck this summer?
Obertan is the inflatable man. He looked like a Somalian in his first season, puffed up a bit last and now he's becoming a bit of a beast. If only his brain could lift weights so he wasn't such a fanny, he'd probably be a useful player.
Diouf is signing for Blackpool apparently. Welbeck is definitely staying, and not really sure about Macheda.
A table of the top attendances in Europe. I genuinely had no idea that Borussia Dortmund had such large attendances.
http://www.footballeconomy.com/conte...ed-attendances
Yeah Germany has mad attendances. So many lovely big stadiums too.
Have you travelled to many? I was thinking about trying to do the Nou Camp this year. I've been told that you have to be flexible though because they change kickoff dates/times at short notice.
Last Summer I visited a few of the German stadiums while doing the whole interrail thing (Allianz, Imtech, Commerzbank), but I've never seen an actual match in Germany. They are fucking impressive structures though. Really hoping Chelsea draw one of the German teams in the CL this year as it's about time I did.
Went to the Nou Camp a few years back for the match when we drew 2-2 with Drogba getting that 93rd minute equaliser. Was pretty incredible. I remember the tour being worthwhile as well as it was a chance to take a look at the stadium from ground level.
My mate went to the Imtech for the Europa League final and raves about it. The pictures look stunning. I was reading the in the programme that it cost them somewhere between 60mil-90milEUR to build. That's incredible when you consider the Emirates (don't get me wrong, I think it is a wonderful stadium) cost around £500mil(?).
I did quite a few English stadiums I'd never been to before last season and plan to do a few more next year but I'd love to see some European ones. Your trip sounds pretty fucking cool.
Capdevila has joined Benfica.
In case anyone's interested, the German supercup is live on Youtube right now, Dortmund vs Schalke.
http://www.youtube.com/bundesliga?feature=ticker
I've only been watching a few minutes but they are kicking the shit out of each other.
enjoyed it. cheers.
Thank you Uruguay for providing an entertaining final in an otherwise dull tournament. Forlan was money today.
Thought Suarez was the nuts too. Hope he plays like that in the league, genuinely exciting player.
Yeah he was a madman today. Glad to see Uruguay did HIGH PRESSURE. Excellent work by Lugano.
Suarez was superb all tournament.
So this Manuel Neuer situation is amusing. The Bayern ultras are still promising not to accept him as a Bayern player. Wonder how long that will last.
Quote:
Ultra's give Neuer code of conduct
AP
Manual Neuer makes his debut for Bayern
When the Bayern Munich's ultras greeted new signing Manuel Neuer with a banner that read 'you can save as many balls as you like but we will never accept you in our shirt' the goalkeeper knew he was in for a rough ride.
And despite keeping a cleansheet during his Bayern debut - a 15-0 victory in a pre-season friendly - the furious fans have stepped up their protests and issued the Germany No.1 with a strict code of conduct, that includes a restraining order.
According to Bild, the five point-plan is as follows: 1) Neuer will never be allowed to sing fan chants through their megaphone; 2) He will never be allowed to kneel in front of the team and sing the 'Humba' song; 3) He will never be allowed to go near the Sudtribune, where the ultras stand; 4) He will never be allowed to throw his shirt into the crowd; 5) He will never be allowed to kiss the Bayern badge on his shirt
Neuer's crime? Well not only is he a self-confessed fan of arch-rivals Schalke, for whom he used to play, but several years ago he also had the audacity to mock Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn.
Bayern's ultras are pretty annoying. They always seem to be complaining about something.Quote:
After a meeting with the new signing from Schalke, the various groups decided to issue a joint statement detailing their new course of action.
The move will come as a welcome relief to the player and the club, whose pre-season preparations have been marred by demonstrations by certain sections of the Bayern support, who have never taken to the German international.
"On Tuesday evening there was a meeting between Manuel Neuer and groups from the South Stand, which have taken part in demonstrations against the transfer of Neuer," the statement read.
"We made him aware of how he has to behave in front of our stand. As for our opinion about him, which you can read in our previous statements, nothing has changed. If Manuel Neuer agrees to the rules we laid down regarding his conduct and keeps a respectful distance, there will be no further organised protests and actions."

Was a weird system in the first place which led to River's relegation, but this will save them.Quote:
It means River, who suffered relegation for the first time in their illustrious history in the recently-completed Clausura season, will spend just one season in the second tier before the new format comes into play.
Didn't the system come into place in a season where River would have been relegated but the change kept them up? And now it's changing again ensuring a swift return?
rum bastards
They are bloody mental.
superb technique

Christ... :scared:
Any background to that? Is the guy still alive/able to walk? He took a headbutt to the arse at the same time too, rotten luck.
Ahahah what a sick cunt.
Malaga have agreed a fee for Cazorla. Fantastic signing IMO, he is class. Surprised other teams haven't looked at him.
fucking hell!
 ahaha
brilliant my fucking idol.

Good goal from Neymar. That fake turn to get through on the keeper is outrageous, the defender just had absolutely no idea where the ball went or how that happened.
Now I see Andy has posted this already in the English football thread. My post is more legitimate because it's in the correct thread.
From Grant Wahl on twitter:
32 nations comprising 29% of the world’s population have already been eliminated from World Cup 2014.
If they had more money, they'd be treated better by FIFA.
Well at least half of that 29% is India by itself. Lost 5-2 on agg to UAE!
UAE are a striker away from being a useful side though.
Don't really see how teams are going to improve if their only competitive matches are one off playoffs every other year, but that's where UEFA is better than the AFC.
Its a little early to be making a 2014 World Cup thread but the qualifying draw is being made in about 2 hours.
Who would you want for England/Scotland/Ireland? I'd love us to have a real test for a change and really earn our place at the world cup.
Pot One: England, Spain, Holland, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Norway, Greece
Pot Two: France, Montenegro, Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Slovenia, Turkey, Serbia, Slovakia
Pot Three: Switzerland, Israel, Rep of Ireland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belarus, Ukraine, Hungary
Pot Four: N Ireland, Scotland, Bulgaria, Romania, Georgia, Lithuania, Albania, Austria, Poland
Pot Five: Armenia, Finland, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Moldova, FYR Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Faroe Islands
Pot Six: Wales, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra, San Marino
Would love something like that. Lots of home nations, France and a plucky Cyprus side. Real bloody tests for a change. No doubt we'll get another uninspiring group which we'll stumble through.
i want england more than anything.
its been way to long.
if not england i would love; norway, denmark, hungary, faroes and san marino.
give us a wee chance of qualification and a chance for me to go to brazil.
England though, i want england!
Don't care. As long as we qualify I'm not that interested in the campaign. I will, of course, watch every game
Worst Scenario
Germany/France/Bosnia/Scotland/Cyprus/Wales
Best scenario
Norway/Montenegro/Hungary/Scotland/Faroes/Andorra
So Spain beat Czech Republic 3-2 to win the Under 19 European Championships. Now reigning World, European, Under 21 and Under 19 European Champions. Looked very strong in their first game at the Under 20 World Cup as well.
They are ridiculous.
They are doping. not really.
Fast forwarded through Dortmund/Hamburg.
Dortmund really are the tits. They've replaced Sahin with 20 year old German-Turk Ilkay Gundogan, who looks classy. The rest of the team is still brilliant. Kagawa is ridiculous. Götze is ridiculous. Brilliant group of players and I look forward to seeing them beat somebody annoying in Europe.
My new third team.
I have adopted Napoli as my third team.
Barnet > Schalke > Napoli
National team: CHILE
Oh I love Napoli too. Fuck those North Italian capitalist pigs!
Sorry if it's already been posted but here was a great goal Chivas scored against Barcelona Wednesday night

Aha yes saw that on SSN. Superb.
Barca play Club America in about 40 minutes if anyone's interested
Find us a good stream and I'm THERE.
Fabian's first goal was also top notch. Screamer.
There should be something worthwhile here:
http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchi...92&part=sports
PSG lost their first game of the season 1-0 at home to Lorient. Of course, the €40m worth of new talent in the side will go up to €90m once Pastore and Sissoko come in.
Manuel Neuer howler on his debut at the Allianz. That'll win the ultras over!
No Xavi or Biscuits in the Barcelona lineup but Alexis Sanchez is making his debut.
Scott Minto is the new Revista anchor? How odd.
