Standard of refereeing in Scotland is genuinely abysmal. Absolutely shocking.
well observed Andy...
Looks like Deek is away. Hasn't been at training yesterday or today. Press conference at 1PM.
worst decision he'll ever make in his life
Fans already split on him, he will be hounded out within a year after fans are shocked that he does not magically turn a bang average squad into world beaters, Celtic win two more trebles and he buys a catholic.
He's staying and tbh I'm pretty happy about that. I dont doubt DM is a great manager but I dont think he's full of self belief, he has already acknowledged that he cant tactically match Rodgers with Aberdeen.
I know you are trying to be funny but half the team right now is catholic.
doesn't want to take the massive step down in terms of quality of team, stadium, fans and everything?
Probably changed his mind when he turned up and saw Dave King's office which doesn't even have a door and is also a phone box on Paisley Road.
Back to 2nd tonight.
As amusing as it was with Rangers, can't have them climbing up the table. Go Dons!
What a deft free kick. Happy for Deek and Deen.
@Slare am I missing something? I thought McQueer was behind the Old Firm Facts page. Have I made that up?
All a bit easy for Sinclair isn't it.
 what a comeback
Second half was easily some the best half of Scottish Fitbaw this year.
I think the midfield cover for the defence leaves you a bit exposed as well, Ntcham is particularly guilty of this so far this season.
“All a bit easy for Sinclair”
Typical from a know nothing know it all. As Mike and Wardy said he’s not kicked a ball all season, he’s been shunted slightly inside to accommodate Tierney going forward for some reason when it worked well enough without that last year.
how do you play them in the same team then @Darkoke ? Because Tierney, as unreal as he is, is no full-back. But they're both first names on the team sheet guys. Tierney has played right back and looked fine and to be honest his delivery from crosses isn't spectacular so I wouldn't be too fussed about losing that. Then again that's a big change and he's developing so well so you don't want to hurt that. I think there's a way for them to play at the same width and accomodate one another's direction and space by, say, Sinclair tucking in midfield/behind the front 1 or 2 adhoc off of Tierney's runs and on the flip side for Tierney to check his runs/breaks by coming inside and releasing Sinclair down the wing, then pulling back and defending which is the part of his game sorely needing surgery
I definitely don’t think moving Tierney to right back is a solution. I think your second suggestion is the way to go, there should be a bit of give and take between the two of them.
agreed and really, it's not some piece of footballing genius anyone's come up with, it's basically exactly how a wingback and a winger should play when they're both on the pitch down the same channel - I can't believe for a second Rodgers has steadfastly instructed Sinclair to move in and adhere to that rigidly, he's surely wanting them to give and take and partner each other more fluidly, instinctively and considerately. I do see Sinclair as the one stopping that from happening, because Tierney does come inside past the halfway line more often and more directly than I think people notice which should be an absolute gift for Sinclair, who unfortunately frequently finds himself on his heels watching the run rather than exceeding it on the flank anticipating the pass. I think his head's not right and Helen Flanagan isn't letting him do lovely kissing with her for some reason.
I don't think we're in dire straits or anything but we have only been at our best in about 4 or 5 games all season. We'll get shagged in the Europa League if we don't freshen up in the new year. Hoping for the easiest possible draw here. Fuck your 'glamour ties'.
Zenit could definitely destroy us.
But like yer auld da says, if we strengthen in January and get the finger out, we can beat them.
"need a bloody centre half and a top top quality midfielder" - yer da csc
But yeah, CB, decent RB and a bit of competition for Sinclair/Armstrong in at Left mid/attacking mid.
If my auntie had a boaby she'd be my uncle.
Something must have happened with him behind the scenes. I dunno. Maybe due to Edouard scoring a hatty Rodgers felt like he had to play him.
Yeah the army one is just a bit annoying because theres a cracking player in there but hes not kicked a ball all season and isn't at it.
Getting whooped by the Dons already, however fom 5-1 down to Killie at the weekend to 3-0 up on Motherwell. Go Partick!
Three excellent goals and good to see the Armstrong and Sinclair of old make an appearance. But we handed it on a plate to Hamilton at least three times in that second half. Zenit will shag our arses home and away if we defend like that against them.
They'll come out of hibernation and still hump ye.
Also, why does Rodgers never start Griffiths and Dembele together or start Griffiths in general? Is there more to it or does he genuinely believe there's better people in the squad than Griffiths.
He started Griff on his own from July-October.
The two of them up top does't suit our way of playing, which is all about patient ball retention in our own half which usually revolves around Brown dropping in.
Griff played A LOT of football last season, right through the summer and through to the start of this season. He was looking a bit jaded and just fucking knackered towards the end of October.
I think Rodgers is giving Ed a run out because he knows Demeble will be gone soon, and you want a third (soon to be second) striker who has some game time under his belt - rather than just dropping him in the deep end. Griff knows he will be the main man again second half of the season (or whenever Dembele goes) and to be fair to young Edouard - he's scored a Hatty and looked very decent last night as well.
I think Celtic fans will take the trade off of £20 million for Dembele if we spend that on a few defenders and maybe another striker to replace him.
Appreciate the explanation. I hope you're right and Griffiths plays a bigger role than super-sub in the latter half of the season.
They should really just copy my FIFA front line of Sinclair - Dembele - Griffiths. UNSTOPPABLE in division 6 sometimes.
Be astounded if they got anything like £20 million for Dembele now
If he'd had another few stand-out performances in the Champions League like last year, I think someone would've paid it.
Nobody is paying £20mil for someone who can't pass a medical.
Tired from Christmas shopping for all his weans
3 away at Ibrox ahahahaaaaa
Was offered tickets from my work today, so glad I didnt go. Bravo on you points though so @Badger. 6th place here we come!!!
Shocked by the result @MikeHunt consdering the squad we had to be honest. Was taunted by a Rangers fan at work today though asking how Saints were doing after 5 minutes. More than satisfying chucking itback in his face.
If murt sticks with that formation and the players continue to be complete shite then get your house on a killie win on the 23rd.
also kill me...
This has been due to happen this season.
Its a complete meltdown defensively.
As you say its been coming but I did not expect it to be so emphatic!
Me neither but we we've been getting away with murder all season defensively.
Aye I don't even think many level headed celtic fans are THAT gutted about yesterday - a very timely boot up the arse with the transfer window opening.
Too many players dropped off big time since last season and are just looking so tired and lethargic - I reckon maybe that result will take a lot of pressure off their shoulders and have them playing with a bit more freedom now, everything has looked so tense and rigid for the last few weeks.
Hearts were absolutely fantastic, just bullied us all day. Liked Rodgers post match taking them into the huddle and I'm glad it ended with a pumping rather than a disputed pen/close game, because the message is loud and clear now.
I know eh?
Willie Collum = wanker
Cracking hangover today.
Cant believe I walked away from the pub yesterday thinking we could have won. Ah well. Hopefully we can build on this and not lose to Hamilton again...
Was working yesterday, but my colleague was giving running commentary watching on his pone. Three missed sitters for Rangers in the second half apparently. Was hoping you'd do it.
TBF Celtic should have had a couple in the first half.
A draw was more than fair. Gordon pulled off a couple of outstanding saves.
Celtic were awful but should still have had it wrapped up in the first. Rangers came right into it, all their players suddenly went in a Pro Ev red, and had a spell where it felt like we didn't get near the ball for about 20 minutes. Gordon made some outstanding saves but I think Morelos cost Rangers the win with his finishing and decision making.
Overall Rangers defended well and outfought is all over the park. They looked like they wanted it more. We didn't turn up. Again. 1-0 Rangers would've been a fair result.
Dundee United.
Just reading about Nacho Novo, Jesus, Hope he recovers well.
he's a despicable little cunt but yeah all the best to him
Apparently he's charging a tenner on the door to visit him in hospital.
We need to beat Rangers tonight. It'll feel rotten if we get beaten by them 3 times in 2 months. Especially after everything that's gone on off the pitch.
Aberdeen are incapable of beating Celtic or Rangers. They beat the rest no bother but when it comes to the old firm they poop their pants every time.
Murty 3 - 0 Derek.
Maybe we are just better than them...
Wes and Tav were outstanding tonight. Aberdeen could have had a few, defensively we were poor particularly from set pieces.
Same old pish. That's an 18 point swing we've given Rangers between 2nd & 3rd. Horrible feeling.
Especially when they've been beaten by teams we've walked over earlier in the season. We've been found out.
Ntcham is absolute class. What a signing he'll turn out to be.
were you there tonight? I was in the Kerrydale suite courtesy of a pal who has a spare ticket in there
I couldn't afford to go last night so I watched it on a Celtic TV stream which was awful as always.
Kilmarnock ffs.
Well lets be honest Killie have been hard to beat under Clarke and what a job he is doing. Mulumbu has been absolutely brilliant everytime ive seen him this year and was no different today.
Celtic were poor before Boyata went off once he went off I only really felt it was going one way.
Musonda looks like hes not really experienced enough to have three players up his arse constantly.
We were fucking shite today
Liam Miller has died of cancer at 36. Fucking hell.
Scary. RIP, young talent taken way too early.
Credit to Thistle for making a fight of that one, after the first few minutes I thought that was it. Celtic defense looking wobbly. That backpass leading to Thistle's first was a horror show.
Always tough in the biggest Glasgow derby for sure
As for Saints, see you next season Dundee United for the biggest Tayside derby.
What a start for Ayr!
Now they're scoring!
McLeish? Fucking hell this hasn't gone very well for the SFA has it?
Really enjoying watching Celtic tonight. COME ON THE WEE BRENDY
Ntcham is pretty good
Kill me pleaaase!
I'm as one eyed a northern ireland fan as anyone else but I don't see how if Scotland hadn't stumped up the cash Michael wouldn't have gone. He lives there, it's a stronger pool of players and its outside of a campaign so he's not going to be given any shit whatsoever here for going now. Weird.
On another thing Liverpool should just throw some cash for Tierney. Either he becomes a great centre back or he's an upgrade on Robertson.
What a fucking goal that was. Musonda making a dick of zenit and then that finish. JESUS.
Could only want this Celtic side to do better if Stevie Davis and big Kyle Lafferty were playing for them
This ref is dogshit
I liked that he booked Dembele for timewasting on the way off. Not enough refs doing that.
Amazing performance, should've scored more.
Why is the pitch in that state?
Thought the pitch looked well considering the weather. Been freezing and lots of rain past few weeks right
Celtic TV commentary was completely fair and not biased whatsoever.
Good away point though.
Still laughing at the disrespect shown by Scott Brown to the Zenit captain with his hardman routine before the game.
Ntcham is tidy af
