Playing against a ten man St Mirren side for an hour you would expect a landslide.

And of those 7 goals - 1 was an own goal, 3 went to Nakamura who was revelling in playing against 10 men for the majority of the game, Brown bagged an unlikely double and Crosas scored a 30 yard wonder strike.

This doesn't happen often. Brown doesn't score goals and Nakamura doesn't really score from open play (one of those goals was a free kick, right enough).

I just don't think Celtic have enough attacking threat at the minute. Other than Hesselink or Samaras finding some scoring boots, the only people who worry me are McDonald and McGeady.

I love Boydy but his record in the Old Firm games isn't impressive. He has an unbelievable record against just about every other team in the league but not Celtic.

I'd love him to play and score but I have a feeling he won't be starting. Unless we've pulled a Celtic and throw him in as a surprise. They do that a lot - "player X is injured and won't make the Old Firm game."

There is not a hope in hell of Boyd starting. It will be Lafferty and Miller and quite rightly so. They will cause more problems for Celtic than Boyd ever would. Novo should be used as the sub as well, Boyd should be sitting in the stand.

If Bougherra is out, then that is a massive blow. Broadfoot works hard, but doesn't exactly fill you with confidence. Especially if he isn't 100% match fit.

The key though is going to be the midfield. I think we will be too strong for Celtic in this department. Mendes will shine and will be the difference.

I don't care losing as much as I care watching McCullouch, Dailly, Ferguson, Broadfoot, Weir putting MY fucking jerseys on and having the audicity to call themselves Rangers players. They really are so shocking to watch, 4141 against our greatest rivals, because we're shit scared to match up and go 442 against you's, it's pathetic. I hate this team, I hate Smith I hate being forced to watch my team being outplayed by utter dross (McGeady and Brown are class) or watching a team with a 10th of our payroll like Dundee Utd makes us look like donkeys, it's so depressing. Thing is I know this looks like a knee jerk reaction to losing a cup but it's not, I've felt this way for ages and part of me sympathise (sp) with Smith and then I remember it's him who thought it was a good idea to spend nearly 3 million on Lafferty but not 4 million on Brown (we are going to regrett that for years to come) or having to listen to David Murrays spin docters at work, again. Consider this, if Celtic where a patch of there old team not only would Ibrox be like the early 80's again I'm fairly certain there would be a attempt on Murrays life.

Was at the game yesterday. McGeady and Brown are different class. Pretty even game. Thought Celtic deserved it in the end.

It was fairly even for the 90 minutes, if any team deserved to win I'd say it was us.

What makes you say that? I'll agree that there was nothing between the 2 sides after 90 minutes, but in extra time it looked as though your players were finding the fatigue much harder to deal with than ours did.

As soon as we scored you were all over the place and it looked as if we could've scored a few. Also, Kyle Lafferty is shit.

I think the game was very, very even. I think we started the better team and then it panned out even up until half time. We started of not too bad in the second half too. We looked the most likely to score at the end of the 90.

Steven Davis is taking a right bashing on our forums, and has been in general, recently. Another shocker today apparently. He's been terrible since he came back to us after the loan spell - minus a few good standout performances.

For the most part he's been a big let down. He showed what he can do when he was here on loan and hasn't got anywhere near that standard since signing. Granted, he's out of position, but that shouldn't effect him to the extent of how bad he's playing at the moment.

Hearing stories about a few guys being kicked out of Ibrox for standing up today. Apparently the steward tried to man handle one of them out, he told him to do one, and the police got involved. People in our forum are saying they seen it, saying that the boy was only standing up for the duration of a song and was picked on as an easy target.

Ibrox is becoming a joke. As I've said before, the atmosphere is totally dead because people don't know what they're allowed to do, sing or say. That can fall at the feet of the fans for singing things they perhaps shouldn't, but incidents like these are happening every week and aren't helping. It's very quickly becoming a joke. So many people have had to get in touch with the head of security to try and get their season tickets back for nothing.

I've never seen Rangers fans so truly turned against a regime. The fans were split 50/50 on the "We deserve better," anti-Murray agenda but it seems now that almost everyone is turning against the people up top.

Yeah he wasn't very good, but then Boyd turned in yet another half arsed performance, our crossing in general was woeful, I think the only good one was Mendes with the outside of his boot.

I'd have brought on Fleck or Miller over Naismith, had to get a goal, bring someone who has half a chance of getting one. Shite marking for their second too, missed Bougherra big time.

Do you know if the guy ejected was near the Blue Order? Was wondering what it was all about, I was in the Club Deck, but everyone in the Broomloan Front were standing and looking at the police escorting some guy out. Normally a few heads turn but literally (well, not quite literally) everyone was watching it instead of the game.

As for the not knowing what you can and can't sing, I thought there was something about if there was a clean version of Hello Hello it's still not allowed to be sung as it will encourage some to sing the other one, so not sure why they still play simply the best or follow follow.

Nah, the clean version of Hello Hello is on the official club CD's and stuff. It's all a lot of nonsense. People are getting kicked out for singing absolutely fine songs. The place is dying of atmosphere because of it. It seems to have been all of a sudden, over perhaps the last 2 years, that the place has just lost everything.

And yeah, apparently it was right next to where the Blue Order are seated.

There is a lot of idiots on there but it's by far the busiest Rangers forum if you're ever needing to know anything. A few of our better pre-match displays have been organised there and the Blue Order advertise some of their work there. I know you're in to that kind of thing.

I don't think it's fair to blame the club for throwing people out for singing those songs. There's obviously a large section of supporters that refused to listen to warnings and are spoiling the game for the rest of the proper fans. That's where your problem should lie with, not the club. The same goes for Celtic.

I haven't heard any of the sectarian songs at Celtic Park for years, not that I go to lot of games mind. I think it's just the away fans that get up to any nonsense nowadays.

What is Davis not doing? He's playing out of position and not complaining. He's not a winger and cant play as one. It's hard for him to drift inside with Barry EGO Ferguson running around like a twat.

He's similar to Hemdani in that he was brilliant in europe. Has the class and the touch to do that for you again but Walter Smith would rather use Maurice Edu centrally. Shocking.

He's not doing much. That's the problem. He's not a winger, as you say, but even taking that in to consideration he's been poor. He's not going to get a game in the centre because he won't displace Mendes and no matter how much he should be Ferguson won't be dropped.

And Maurice Edu has played less than a handful of games, so no not really. And when he has played he's been pretty good.

The fans are getting behind Kyle now. He's starting to prove that he might actually be a bit of a player. I'll be meeting him at a wedding in September - I'll tell him you said hi.

EDIT: I'll also tell his that he was a dick for getting himself injured for six weeks as soon as he looked promising :irked:

True.....but your away support's Pro-IRA song choices are disgraceful, and the inaction of the authorities to deal with them, as compared with Rangers fans, is absurd.

The songs might not have the most vicious lyrics in the world but they have no place in a football terracing, especially given the resurgence of terrorism in NI recently.

I think it's safe to say that both clubs have done well in lessening this element of their support. It was blown way out of proportion in the first place but we were asked to tone it down and both sets of fans have done so.

David, you talk about both sets of club's fans being told to tone it down?

Rangers fans are the only fans in Scotland to be under UEFA sanctions, and also the only cub thus far to fall victim to the SPL's new powers to punish teams who's fans indulge in "offensive chanting".

I agree both sides at different times in the past decade have toned down drastically, but on the PRo-IRA singing side of things, Celtic have gone unpunished and continue to do so.

They have come down harder on us, yes. Probably unjustifiably too. However, both sets of fans have been asked, even if not only from the SPL, to boot the chants in to touch. In my eyes both clubs, especially Rangers it has to be said (mainly because we took the majority of the blame) really tried to ram the point home. Only away fans are letting us down which I believe is also true of Celtic, if not even worse for them.

As I said earlier it was all blown way out of proportion. Countless times I've heard Aberdeen fans sing songs about the Ibrox disaster. They done it every single time they came to Ibrox when I had my season ticket. This is equally as bad as ANYTHING Rangers or Celtic fans used to sing yet nowhere near as much is ever made of it.

Yeah everyone around looked massively pissed off.

I've heard alot about that messageboard might give it a go, sounds like cfcnet, mainly idiots but the only decent messageboard.

The on Sat looked good, I like the whole absent friends and Davie Cooper tributes, I wish we had something before games on Peter Osgood. The Champs League displays last season looked top notch.

I've asked Chelsea to roll out ticketless memberships like you have in the Broomloan, spoke to our director of communications about it, he likes the idea so I'll likely get in touch with the ticket office manager about it.


As for the sectarian stuff, I've not heard it in the ground (only been six times in the last two seasons though), people shouting out stuff like 'Go on the Queens XI', is the worst I've heard. On a footnote not really to do with that but I suppose possibly about loyalists, when the Chelsea game kicked off on Saturday some people started shouting 'go on Chelsea'.

It used to be pretty bad. Not an apt choice of word but that was what was being used.

You've seen the clips and watched the matches when the placed used to be rocking. You've been to the last few games, aye? These days it's not the same but it will pick up again once we get back in to Europe and when we get out of this slump of the fans turning against one another about the manager, certain players etc. In the last few seasons the atmopshere has dropped.

It's still top notch for European matches. We've had some cracking displays over the years, mainly in Europe. Our one in the Cup Final the other week was a weak effort.

That reminds me. RIP Davie Cooper. Passed away 14 years ago today.

As far as I'm concerned, Ferguson and McGregor should never be picked for Scotland again. This is an absolute must-win game, and their lack of commitment to the cause just to have a session in the pub is absolutely shocking. Ferguson was the captain and should be leading by example. He's been gash for Scotland for ages, and there's two better players in Brown and Fletcher that can play centre mid. Gordon is also miles ahead of McGregor. Get them tae fuck, Burley.

Without question. Managed to catch the highlights and looks is though we played really well. Let's hope we can take something off Norway.

Fucking hell lads, that was my first trip to Hampden, mental. Unbelievable atmosphere and it wasn't even full. We played very well in the first half, shame Kenny Miller is absolutely brutal. Morrison, McCormack, Brown and Hutton all had very good games, Miller and Fletcher were bollocks again. Craig Gordon is the best keeper I've ever seen live by a country mile. His double save was absolutely stunning and the "only one Craig Gordon" chants lastsed for a good three or four minutes after that,and it was literally the whole ground singing it.

It should have been a far more comfortable victory than it was and the ref was giving us absolutely fuck all the entire night.

A couple of sidenotes...

There was a guy in front of us that did two lines of coke at half time. There's something I've never seen before.

I was also impressed with the transport. I went through from Edinburgh and the sheer amount of trains and police presence meant we were out of the ground by ten past 10 and back in Edinburgh for half 11. Good stuff. Also, Hampden is a bloody lovely stadium.

I'm still a bit pissed, but bloody hell that was a good day. :yes:

You can get in touch with a lot of the supporters coaches on the forum I posted a while ago. Some of them do a seat on the coach + a ticket sort of deals.

You could probably go without a ticket and get one at the game anyway. I've done it a few times.

We won't get much. But yeah I thought it seemed like an excuse to punt him after all the dislike aimed towards him from the fans. Seems like an oppurtunity for Murray to make a buck and get rid of the player the fans have wanted rid of for ages.

We'll see if that's true depending on if McGregor is also transfer listed. If the suspension is all he gets then that would suggest that we're just trying to use it as an excuse to get rid of Barry.

Apart from the facts that Ferguson's from Hamilton and McGregor's from Edinburgh.

Rangers should punt McGregor too. They'd probably get a decent amount of cash from a Premiership club for him.

I cant think of many clubs with keepers needing replacing who are worse than mcgregor. Maybe last year on the back of the UEFA run but not now. Boro would be it but theyre bust and going down anyway.

To be honest I thought Barry Ferguson basically retired when he came back to Scotland with his tail between his legs after failing in the English Premier League.

This past week has pretty much ruined his career. He's not going to get another chance in the Premiership (unless one of the promoted clubs signs him), so he's basically limited himself to playing in the Championship.
