Have you tried not hitting your girlfriend, wife, or kids? It is extremely hard not to do so. It is a daily struggle for me.

Another tight end in the first round? Detroit Free Press said we would probably pick him, but I don't know. We needed one, but I hate taking one so high.
Damn good te though..
I'm assume he will be a huge bust based on history. Lions love their shitty first round TEs
Surely the Lions have bigger needs than TE that would be like the last position I would spend significant draft capital on tbh
This is the 3rd 1st round tight end we have drafted since the lions drafted stafford in 2009
I know nothing about Oliver. How is he perc?
He's Aaron Donald light ... and I mean that affectionately.
He turned down every big name school in the top 10 to stay home and then balled to fuck and back. He's a legit IDL that can play the run and shoot gaps hard as hell. Great pick.
Who do the Steelers want? Bush?
Fuck.
Jonah Williams
Perc and I are just praying for some kind of help to prevent our respective QBS from getting batted around like goddamn ping pong balls.
You got that fuckin right..
Don't believe in Jawaan Taylor?
Also I think I'm happy with the Phins first pick. With so much needed I would have been fine with either Taylor or Wilkins. I'd ideally want them to draft an o-lineman to have some time to develop before we draft our franchise qb next year.
I like Taylor, but a notch below Williams. I'll be bummed when he's picked as well.
Haskins couldn't go to a nicer franchise. Good luck being the next RGIII buddy.
And he is the first Big Ten QB taken in the first round since Kerry Collins in '95? Insane!
Both the big Miss St studs still on the board and Taylor. Me likey.
I want Taylor but if not Taylor, Sweat.
And now we have our pick.
ABC's coverage of this draft sucks ass. Commentary is terrible. Get that American Idol guy out of there.
Okaaaay.
Sweat's heart must be the size of a fucking watermelon.
The kid is really, really good.
Damnit... I thought it all moved to ABC this year.....

Looks like Simmons has a past.
What the fuck are the Packers doing?
I thought the Pack was drafting Drew Lock to sit behind Rodgers. Guess they desperately wanted that 2nd day talent.
Fuck, fuck.
Who?
Had him as a second or third round consolation kind of pick. Fuckin ok.
Off topic from tonight, but I was excited to find out Brian Banks is getting a movie about his life. Prime of his life was robbed.

Looks good.
Imagine trading Odell Beckham for a 2 down run stuffer
I hope Sweat is an absolute beast for Washington.
Man, it is insane how many Mississippi State guys went in the first round.
Does Taylor finally come off the board to SD?
I am pleased the Pats landed a top-notch wide reciever
Mood: Ed Oliver
Man, I am glad I didn't stay up just to see the Colts trade their first round pick.
The Giants  what an off season.
Steals of Day 1 - Jags - J. Allen, Bengals - J. Williams, Skins - D. Haskins, Pats - N. Harry
Headscratchers of Day 1 - Giants - D. Jones, Raiders - C. Ferrell, Falcons - C. Lindstrom, Texans - T. Howard
All I want in the 2nd and 3rd rd is a TE and an OT or G.
Giants strategy was awful. Nobody else was in for Jones, probably could have traded out of the first round to land him. Or taken him at 17 and taken best possible at 6. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Traded back in as well with three picks, Jones undoubtedly would have been there in the second to take. Sacrificed 3 picks and OBJ for the 3rd (at best) most fancied QB in a weak class, and a couple of defenders that weren't fancied.
Christian Wilkins diving on the GM was great
What is wrong with you?
I'm compelled to tell jobbers when they're being hypocritical.
Fair enough.
Guessing Lock still ends up at Denver, and works under Flacco for a season. That ended up being good business if they didn't really fancy much on defence, acquiring the extra 2nd round pick.
Who else takes Jones before 17 if not the giants inexplicably at 6?
Cincinnati and Denver both had picks in between there and both could use a new QB.
Rosen to the Dolphins is nearing completion, reportedly for pick #48. "Keep an eye for a possible late-round kickback from Arizona to Miami to finalize this thing. Source says the #Dolphins feel 48 for Rosen is too tilted in Arizona’s favor."
Darnold, Josh Allen and Rosen would all be starting in the same division (picks 3-7-10 in the 2018 draft).
Seems like a good deal for Miami.
How amazing will it be when the Dolphins finish in last place and they take Tua with the first pick next year?
Problem is you don't know if they do. And if that is the guy that you think is your QB for 10 years then you can't miss him because you were going to take him later.
We had tons of indication the Giants wanted Jones. Just like Murray with Arizona. So it's not unrealistic to think a team could have an idea of a player's draft worth. Jones' was limited to NY and beyond the first round.

They could have Josh Allen and Daniel Jones today.
I really hope Tyreek Hill is banned for life. What an absolutely disgusting pos person he is.
Unless they know he is a sure thing, taking a late 1st round talent (more likely 2nd or 3rd round) is tough. There didn't seem to be a big need for first round QBs this year and they would have more than likely gotten him with a later pick.
Some Lions apologists are doing the same thing with out pick. Most are upset that we took a slow, but talented TE so high when better talents were available. A few say that a TE of his talent would probably not be available in the 2nd round. I hate picking tight ends that high, unless they end up being a future hall of famer, we have no luck picking for that position in the first round and we are desperate for good defensive players. Bob Quinn lost me with that pick, but I hope I am wrong.
Ah the Raiders super secret pick at 4th... Clelin Ferrell  All the Raiders fans in the crowd :wtf:
Apparently protecting Marcus isn't that big of a concern for the Titans in this draft. But I'm more than happy with AJ Brown.
You probably heard by now but Rosen to the Dolphins is official. The return was a late second-round pick (No. 62 overall) and a 2020 5th rounder. I really like this move for Miami. What a discount.
I mean, it's not like I've watched the tape on him from 2018 but I keep hearing people talk about how their O-line was the worst in the NFL, so perhaps his bad rookie stats don't spell bust.
1 year doesn't make anyone a bust. Peyton had a less than stellar rookie year, so it takes a few years before anyone should be completely written off.
Can't complain about the trade for Rosen. But if the biggest issue he had with Arizona was a bad O-Line....good luck in Miami bud.
We basically just got Rosen for a 5th and 6th round pick and moving the 2nd round pick to 2020. Tremendous job.
Start Rosen, be bad, draft very high in each round, nab QB of future in 2020 R1
Start Rosen, be mediocre, draft in the middle of each round & use picks to move up for QB of the future
Start Rosen, find out he’s the franchise QB & use 13 picks in strong draft for rest of team.
If Rosen was coming out of college this year the Dolphins probably would've traded up to get him. So getting him that low is good value considering he has the league experience to go with the clear potential.
DK Metcalf with the best line of the draft:
'why'd y'all wait this long, man..'
https://twitter.com/Seahawks/status/...ombine-meeting
That’s my thoughts exactly. Yes the one year he had wasn’t great but I mean it wasn’t a ton that was traded away for a one year in QB who has the potential. The only concern is that the picks may have been better used on the many holes in the team. But QB is a special position.
I like Howard. But that's a lot of money going to him.
Texans release TE Ryan Griffin. And now my second most hated Texan is gone. Awesome news.
I believe the NFL is looking to amend the pass interference rules again regarding instant replay. Everything should be updated by the preseason.
Also, the divisional round games on sunday will take place at 3 and 630 instead of the 1 and 4:30 timeslot from previous years.
I'm mostly against the PI review rule change so I'm fine with them neutering it so that you have to throw a challenge flag even in the final 2 minutes and that it's not reviewable on hail mary's. That's what they're discussing now. Anything to keep this from being a total clusterfuck of challenges and overturned plays is fine by me. The key thing is to only overturn it on blatant missed calls not ticky tack stuff.
How about any reviewed pass interference can at most be a 15 yard penalty, not a spot foul?
Not a huge fan of the spot foul, but I'd prefer 15 yard penalty but still make it an automatic first down. So if a team is 3rd and 20 and throws it deep (and into FG range), the defense won't automatically take the 15 yard penalty instead of giving up a big play, especially with very little time on the clock.
I was thinking that if it was obvious and called on the field its a spot foul. But if we need to review and determine that it was then to me that was not egregious enough to warrant the spot foul.
The dead part of the offseason is upon us. Let's see, what's going on:
- Wentz got paid. A lot. Good for him and good for the Eagles assuming he doesn't prove to be injury prone. I hope not.
- Patriots got their rings last night. I'll spare you the pics and gifs.
- This PI thing, the more I read about it the more I think they should just scrap it entirely. Now people are asking how do you define a hail mary, why should that one play type be called differently, etc. Valid questions that point out the stupidity of this rule change which is based on one missed call. Can't wait to see how this new rule results in its own highly controversial refereeing decision. Also I wonder if the Saints had won that game in overtime would they still have changed the rule? Seems arbitrary but my guess is no. Everything is so reactionary.
- Todd Gurley is done as a workhorse RB, or so the report goes. Knee arthritis seems to be the likeliest contender. Will he be a 2nd round fantasy sleeper or a fantasy dud?
