Yes, I guess so. I seem to remember Tickler as more of a rogue and not one of the Lannister soldiers. I think I had pictured him less like a knight and more like a maniac.
A quick search looks like that was in fact Tickler.
Polliver takes needle in the books but if that's Tickler then I imagine Polliver wont be in this.
Great episode but as you said GBF it is being rushed. This is what I feared might happen, lots that we know going unseen to be replaced by things we could not be sure of or shortened versions of events.
I said it before but Jon and Arya's journeys were two things I didn't want to see sacrificed and already so much has gone by already that I feel each episode really should be a mini-movie.
Also is it just me or has Petyr Baelish acquired a Welsh accent? I may be wrong but isn't the fella that plays him Irish? What's going on there?
I think it's a bit soon to say it's being rushed, I think they're setting the scene for the big set-piece of the story at this point. I liked Arya and Jon's journeys in the book too but it represents a lot of needless exposition on screen. It would be boring, to be honest, because much of the story takes place in their heads. The conversation Arya had with Yoren serves to remove the need for that part of her journey, for example, because it's someone directly shaping her attitude and actions (actually strikes me as more realistic than what happens in the book).
Although again I do think the emphasis on the main sex scene this week was probably over-played a bit. I'm nearly finished book 3 part 1 and it's not apparent to me why they're making such a big deal of that in the short-term, unless they have changed things pretty drastically.
On the Tickler, I read it quite recently so I had pictured him as someone like that, to be honest. He was one of Gregor Clegane's men but I think he was described as being quite an ordinary looking bloke who would speak normally to the prisoners when guarding but then be exceptionally cruel at other times.
You're saying that they are cutting out needless exposition...I say by inserting needless exposition towards the sexual aspects and characteristics of certain key players in the Game Of Thrones. Some for the good, some for the bad. I certainly think we all agree that Theon has been given a good amount of time which will certainly be a sign that his part in the future will not be turned simply into a bit-part as I had initially feared.
It's almost all relevant in the grand scheme of things, I just want to see more of Arya and Jon because they are great.
Also on The Tickler...I had him as a guy with moderate length hair and never an expression on his face. Polliver seems more like the lad we saw taking Needle, maybe they merged the two characters to save time.
Tremendous episode. Tyrion's scheming was fantastic, as always. Nice to see Lady Stark with a bit of attitude again, and I'm intrigued by what's happening on the Iron Islands. I thought it was good to have a total break from the Daenerys story, though I'd like to see a check-in with Jaime in the near future. I've been very impressed with how they've juggled so many plots so well. For what it's worth, as someone who hasn't read the books, it isn't feeling rushed to me. Everything is building up nicely and I can't wait to see the pay-off (especially as they have a bigger budget this season for battles).
Jerome Flynn singing career is probably old news to the English but I think its kind of neat. Bronn what terrible hair you have. Some interesting casting.

DADDY ISNT GOING TO LOVE YOU THEON.
Does anyone sort of think Stannis is basically Ned Stark without any compassion whatsoever. I like Stannis. Without spoiling too much I like how he battles himself morally and how he operates. He is an interesting character.
EDIT oh and also

Jerome Flynn disappeared off the face of the planet about ten years ago. Was a surprise to see him pop up in this.
