'Getting'
Finished my replay of re4 and I did something I didn't know was possible.
I missed Sadler with the red rocket launcher.
I had always thought this to be impossible. After Ada throws it to Leon I have, several times, just blasted it in maybe somewhat his general direction and sometimes nowhere near because the game never waits to see if it hits him. Firing it is the death blow. So the second you shoot it the cutscene starts and he dies.
Not this time. I blasted that thing right off into space and oops no cutscene. I continued trying to fight him but eventually died and had to start the battle over.
This time I was pissed. So I bought a rocket launcher from the blue guy just before the final battle and as soon as the boss fight started...frrrrp...I shot it right over his head. Fuck.
So I reset the game because I wanted to cram that thing up his monster hole. I bought the launcher, started the boss fight and this time I hit him square with it to start the fight.
And you know what? It barely does anything more than double hit damage to him from what I could tell. Wah wahhhh. I still had to do the whole boss fight like normal. Then get the red launcher. Then very carefully blast his ass with it before getting mugged by Ada and going on the wacky water ride with Ashley.
Just downloaded Subnautica for free as part of the play at home promo on PS store. More titles on there, especially if you use VR.
Downloaded. Picked up Abzu and Enter the Gungeon, too.
There's really no reason not to redeem every game.
Redeem the PSVR games, maybe one day you'll get a PSVR cheap and already have games for it, thats my thought process.
Got my 8th person in Octopath. Currently grinding and leveling up like a motherfucker.
Just unlocked the Prawn suit and Cyclops in Subnautica. Playing around with underwater base designs.
Realize now that I have way overgrinded my people up on Octopath. I'm just going dungeon to dungeon fucking destroying bosses.
Been crazy busy with work, Easter holiday away and life in general so haven't really had a chance to play much. Put a few hours into Outriders last night... that shit is going to be addictive.
Completed Persona 5 Strikers after about 60 Strikers though did take time to do requests before actually moving onto the next jail when I did. I am generally a completionist when it comes to these types of games. Just ask my old PS2 memory card (s) playing FFVII.
STORY SPOILER:
A few post-game requests to tidy up but should manage lol.
Realized I was leveled up enough in Octopath to skip ahead to some areas I shouldn't be able to get to yet and purchase some way advanced weapons and armor.
I am ruining this game.
Saga Frontier Remaster is out and is hitting me right in the childhood, I've missed this game.
Anyone else playing the Mass Effect Legendary Edition?
I have never played these games, but I am having a blast.
Attempting Skyrim...I fucking suck so far.
resident evil village
ill be honest, i only bought the game so i could mod the vampire lady into thomas the tank engine.
not a bad game though
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD for Wii U. Really wish I gotten into console Zelda games as a kid. I only really played portable versions at a young age. For a game that's almost 20 years old, this game is fantastic!
As for what I'm currently playing I'm still trying to get into Skyrim. Also been playing a ton of Starfox 64. Doing a THPS replay. THPS 3 to Proving Ground. Currently at Underground 2 which is a drag for me because it's my least favorite in the series due to the bullshit secret character and special guest goals.
Also doing a GTA thing. Getting deep into 4 and thinking of 100 percenting it. Then I'm gonna do 5 again and do some of the new online missions I've missed. Then I'm gonna go back and play San Andreas which I've never played.
I'm playing a bunch of Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition and Monster Train: First Class, both on my switch. Both run great and are awesome for playing handheld. The only indie game I'm missing on my switch now is Spelunky and Spelunky 1 and 2 are out tomorrow.
I play Resident Evil 5's No Mercy mode religiously. I started playing Fracture But Whole again because my son and I finished it on his ps4 so now I'm going through it again. Nice thing about those games is that you can play it many times and discover different shit that you didn't notice or do the last time.
I would be balls deep in some Mortal Kombat but those fucking servers suck. I kick 2-3 people's asses and then boom, kicked off.
Last but not least, I saw Scott Pilgrim was back so I bought it a few nights ago. I had it on PS3 but when the network was hacked I lost it somehow.
About to start my 7th playthrough of Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
I decided to Uber complete GTA4 and not only get 100 percent but I'm unlocking every conversation with every friend and girlfriend and visiting all the secret locations and hidden shit.
Restarted Witcher 3 to try for the Gwent card collector achievement.
Legend of zelda sprit tracks.. train conductor link is best link
I’m currently playing:
MVP Baseball 2005. Whipped out the PS2 Slim just to play a season or two of franchise mode on my favorite sports game ever.
Stardew Valley. I’ve been addicted to this game for a few years but I only recently started going in on the free expansion where they gave you a whole new area to play through. So I’m sucked back in for a while.
Mario Golf: Super Rush. It’s pretty solid. Idk about the new modes yet but I’ve been playing standard golf and I’m happy with my purchase.
Bought Yakuza 6 last night, probably be Monday evening before I get a chance to play.
A new area in Stardew Valley? I might have to break that out sometime then.
Yes indeed. The 1.5 update came on on Switch in February of this year (it was out earlier on PC). It was a big one. Lots of things updated/enhanced/added but the new area is called Ginger Island and there’s much to do there. I’ll leave it at that so as not to spoil anything but I’ve still not even completed the new area myself.
Nice! Yeah I haven't gotten much Switch time in this year but will check this out.
I'm trying to get myself to play more switch games and less phone games so I tried out Axiom Verge 2 last night. I haven't played the first one but this one is pretty fun. I'm probably only an hour or two in. I like the boomerang weapon. I keep wanting to try the new Warioware but haven't gotten around to it.
Watching so much of Dante Ravioli's youtube channel that I decided to do a RE4 challenge where the only weapon I allow myself is the infinite rocket launcher which is so much trickier than it sounds like. Basically you have to be far away from any enemy you attack and can never let anything get close or you'll kill or damage yourself trying to attack. I'm like midway through the castle.
I got back into Slay the Spire in a big way this past week. Highly recommend to all. $25 on Switch/Playstation stores, and $10 on Apple.
$10 on Android too.
I've put about 2 and a half hours into Ni No Kuni 2 on switch. I guess the overworld had issues on ps4 so it's not that surprising it also has issues on switch (in handheld), and I don't feel like I can recommend it for the full $60, but the combat is still fun. There's something about the Tales games like Tales of Vesperia where the real time combat, as opposed to turn based, just never really clicked for me but I'm enjoying the feeling of the combat on NNK2.
Played Prototype again and man... this game is the worst, but I love it so much. Played it on hard this time and this goddamn game is relentlessly mean for no reason lol. There are times when you can't even run away because the whole world is aggro'd to you. Got to the first big boss, Elizabeth Greene, and this was the first time I've ever thought what I had to do was impossible and beyond my control. I had to defend a machine from several waves of monsters, but they became progressively more difficult. it gets to a point where you have two high level baddies going ham on the machine and then you have two giant tentacle monsters throwing shit at it and you're barely alive from the last wave. The only way to even come close to progressing is by using a tank.
Had to pretty much scam the game. Turns out if the machine is destroyed, you restart from the last checkpoint with full tank health and ammo. So once every wave would finish, I'd let the next wave destroy the machine. Would restart at the checkpoint, clear off the next wave, late the next wave destroy the machine... and so on. For the last wave, I exited the tank and love tapped every enemy so they'd aggro me and not the machine. Funneled them into a corner and tanked them into oblivion. Made it through all that and the machine was still only a sliver away from being destroyed. Once I actually finished that part, I uninstalled the game.
I swear Prototype is like an ex I can't stop going back to.
I'm currently not getting shit played because I'm building a game room at the new house and the recliner I just installed is too comfy. I'm used to playing at night before bed and now I just sit in the fucking chair and my old ass passes out.
Been playing Pokemon White for the DS and Yakuza 0 for the PS4. Haven't played a Yakuza game since the original for PS2, so decided to give zero a shot and it's pretty good. Has that Shenmue feel to it, which I love.
Picked up the new Guardians of the Galaxy game last week. Some of the combat components are clunky, but the game is a lot of fun overall. They absolutely nailed the characters, and it is very funny. Things line up a bit more to the comics instead of the MCU, but I feel Marvel games are a lot better when they try not to be too close to the movies.
They obviously learned a lot with the Avengers game and made things better. I'm only a few hours in to the game but I hope there is some connections between the games.
I started Nobody Saves The World on switch. It's a really fun action rpg more people should play and it's unlike anything else I've ever played. There's all of these forms that all play differently that you level up via specific quests and then a few hours into the game you gain the ability to mix and match the different "form" abilities so you can make yourself a rat that shoots arrows if you really want. I haven't progressed far enough to really dig into the "builds" you can do yet but I've heard there's some crazy stuff.
I also started 13 Sentinels and I'm really intrigued by the story. I feel like having just finished Dark on Netflix was a good primer for some of theseshenanigans that are bound to happen. The art style is really striking and the combat is more fun than I thought it would be from going off of YouTube videos. I've heard it's story compared to Persona 4 in terms of quality and that's one of my favorite games so I felt like I had to try it. You can probably get it for $30 or so on ps4 but I'm playing on switch.
I've finally started Dangonronpa v3. Lots of wrinkles added as I am in the first trial. The Dialogue is still cheese but I enjoy it a bunch.
After watching Josh on Let’s Game It Out, and checking it runs on my non-gaming laptop, I bought Planet Crafter on early access. It’s like Subnautica but on land and without anything actively trying to kill you, just the environment. It’s oddly satisfying, especially after you unlock the jetpack.
I've mostly been playing WWE2K22. I wish we could use downloaded CAWs in MyRise mode but I went with the Indie High Flyer so the guy is basically a heavyweight Ace Austin, even in look, he has a half shaven head. I haven't gotten around to editing his moveset yet but there's definitely some stuff I'd like to change. You can change their appearance in MyRise too but I haven't bothered with that. Seeing some of the CAWs for other promotions or alternate outfits for the WWE superstars that are in the game is pretty crazy as far as how accurate they are to the real thing.
I've been slowly playing through Earthbound when I have an hour or two to keep myself sane between assignments. I powerleveled like fuck early on(Happy Happy Village and Lilliput Steps helped, but the Foppys in Belch's factory are way too easy to cheese without actually fighting) and then coasted, but it caught up to me at Stonehenge. Got killed and had to get to homework, so I'll have to conquer it next time.
This is actually the first time I've been past Summers, so that's exciting.
When I was a kid the desert fucked me up. I don't really know why, though, because every time I've gone there since, I just make it to the other side and the traffic's cleared up. Shenanigans.
I just finished KOTOR, first time through. I'm a big nerd, but even so, it's one of the finest games I've ever played. I had to scoop my jaw off the ground with that twist two thirds through! A satisfying story. I chose the light side this time. I'm looking forward to another run sometime, so I can see how choosing the dark side impacts the game. I'll pick it up again someday.
I'm not sure what I'm going to play next...
Who's playing the new Evil Dead? I'm a fan of all the games that have been released but my absolute favorite was the one for the og X Box. This new one looks awesome, I've strayed from any in depth reviews but most people seem to like it/love it.
My brother got me an Evil Dead game for Christmas many years ago, but I never played it. I should dig it out and check it out. I believe it was a PS2 game.
My friend said the new Evil Dead is really good, but I don't tend to play video games much anymore.
Anyone else played The Outer Planets? Obsidian's experience of making Fallout: New Vegas is highly evident while going through this.
I got it for Christmas the year before last and I got really hooked on it. It's pretty great from my experience. Seems like it might be kind of short? But yeah, as a big fan of Fallout, I liked it more than I did Fallout 4. The interplanetary aspect makes it pop more, too.
I only stopped playing because I got a handful of games at the same time and got distracted with the others. Ghost of Tsushima was one. I want to pick that back up this summer.
I didn't finish this one but I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was enjoyable, but I ended up losing interest for other games.
I just saw that it was part of the PS+ games (not monthly) for their new tiers and may actually play it now.
If none of you have played TMNT: Shredder's Revenge yet, you are missing out. What an awesome hit of nostalgia during tough times. I grew up on the TMNT arcade game and I still consider it to be one of the best beat-em-ups ever made. This is a true spiritual successor to those games that ate up my quarters in the 90s. I really hope this is the start of more classic games getting loving updates like Ninja Turtles got with this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn1eSAEbfls
I literally just bought this before I fell asleep last night. I'm hyped to pop it on.
I’ve heard great things about TMNT. I’ll probably do that after I finish off Cuphead. About halfway through Expert and Pacifist right now.
I’ve had “Watch Dogs: Legion” downloaded on my XBox for ages; never really found time for it, might give it a crack now. At the start of the pandemic our group went hard for “Red Dead 2” online , switched over to the F1 series over the last 18 months.
I beat “Watch Dogs 2”, am hopeful that “Legion” is of similar quality.
red alert remaster.
cause i love red alert
I will be playing so many games now I got the new PS Plus premium :D
Dragon's Dogma.
I've mostly been playing Octopath Traveler over the last couple weeks. That's probably gonna be my main thing until I beat it, but I also have Turtles and the Chrono Cross remaster waiting to be played
I've also been getting the itch to go through FF7 Remake again.
It's the shit. You know what sold me? I'm playing RE5 Mercenaries mode and I put on Spotify's "release radar" playlist. 1 of the first songs that pop up is the turtles theme, sung by Mike Patton of Faith No More. I went straight to the store and bought this immediately. I was waiting until gas went down to $4.55 but fuck it let's live dangerously.
Love it. Takes me back, especially when I was just at a new local arcade that has the first one. Colors look great, it moves better than Scott Pilgrim so that's a plus. 10/10. Best game I've played all year.
I finally just finished it with a friend last night and unlocked Casey Jones. It is really fun.
Been doing Horizon: Forbidden West again. Platinumed it last time and now they added new trophies and I can't deal with not having it. Game is phenomenal so not a big deal to play again. It's rare I play the whole game (twice to 100% and once for Ultra Hard) within three months, but damn is it fun.
Finally got around to playing Cuphead. Hard as fuck would be a mild understatement.
Trying to beat the Flower boss in the first world.
Just beat it now but with great difficulty!
I also just recently finished Control. That game was a lot of fun. A bit repetitive, but the mechanics were just enjoyable.
Control was a good time.
I've been working my way through Hades. Fun game.
Also been playing Clone Hero for the memories.
I should start Outer Wilds or Risk of Rain 2 though that I picked up during the steam sale.
Also waiting for a good ps5 deal on Ghost of Tsushima as I want to give that a try.
Heavily cosign Ghost of Tsushima
Do I start my 30th playthrough of Mass Effect Legendary or not? Decisions decisions....
:chin:
Nothing new: Flying back to the Colonia region in Elite Dangerous; doing Fallout 4 but just Minuteman quests, settlement building, and collecting Power Armour sets; waiting for the next Planet Crafter update that will probably cripple my non-gaming PC even more.
Finishing up my platinum on Infamous: Second Son.
Played the game back in 2014/2015 and did an evil playthrough and am now doing a good on Expert.
Such a fun game.
I'm just about finished with GTA San Andreas of the remaster editions. My first time completing any of the 3 PS2 era games. SA is the only one I ever see myself coming back to. III and VC were still figuring out the formula but San Andreas is far closer to what I've come to expect from a GTA game since I wasn't introduced to the series until GTA 4.
Been playing GTA V for the last couple months. So atmospheric. I liked, at night, listening to the radio on the beach in my shiny stolen dunebuggy. Simple pleasures that feel like a dreamworld come to life. Even the endless fan talks of my friends for years hadn't convinced me to play it before now. I'm glad that I installed it such a game! Love the music. I rushed to get the soundtrack after playing.
I plan on absolutely deep diving GTA V fairly soon. I spent the time to finally 100 percent 4 a few months back (all those fucking pigeons) and that got me going. I went and got the remaster collection and I've played through III and VC. I'm going to beat SA and then for the first time in a loooong time the Liberty City Stories games and I may 100 those as well as I've never done it before.
Then when all that's finished I'm going to go bananas on 5. By that time we should only be 6 or 7 more years from 6.
Which I imagine will be the last one but even if it isn't I'll be in my sixties so who cares?
Almost done with my playthrough of God of War (2018) on NG+ for the platinum. Have to do all of the grindy realm shit still, but otherwise such a good game.
Excited for Ragnarok.
I never could beat the final valkyrie
watching people try and beat sigrun has been one of my favorite things over the last couple years. watching marathon streams from lirik and manvsgame trying to defeat her were just entertaining as hell, even if it is the same fight over and over for dozens of hours of actual gameplay. hoping i can snag a ps5 before the sequel comes out.
Been playing the Quarry. It's ok
After the most recent Let's Game It Out, I bought Dinkum off Steam. It's still early access, so there's lots of QOL improvements that could be made, but it's a charming game in the vein of Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, and I'll have to be careful to ration my time on it.
I've been playing MVP Baseball 2005 since I brought my PS2 out of storage a while back. In both of my 2 dynasty seasons that I've played in that time, I lost the World Series in game 7. I didn't replay the final game though, I took my losses and moved on. Season 3 is upon us and I'm coming for that title. How sweet it will be.
