Fuck the Leafs, always
Pittsburgh and New York was fun on the bun! Calgary and Dallas is also shaping up to be another game 7 classic.
This thread was once my favorite place on this forum. :(
Come back and maybe activity will pick up. :)
Extremely ashamed to be a Canucks fan right now, it’s probably going to get way worse before it gets better.
We hitched the wagon to the wrong horse, a petulant man-baby who now calls the shots. There are some massive organization-altering decisions to be made in the near future: our captain has one foot out the door; the franchise forward is RFA in July 2024; the franchise defenseman and goaltender are both under contract longterm but probably don’t want to waste their remaining prime years playing with the band on the Titanic.
“Winter is Coming”… :panic:
Seattle is doing pretty well in year 2. And Detroit is in year 12 of their rebuild and they still suck ass...
If, for some asinine reason, we allow Bo Horvat to walk to free agency when we (unfortunately) need to flip him for assets, Seattle makes a lot of sense as a landing spot.
Seattle has the cap space to go 7 years at $8M per, the Kraken are right there in the Pacific division despite underachieving goaltending. Bo could do the heavy lifting as he’s done in Vancouver; Beniers would benefit from being the sheltered second line center. Wright could learn the NHL game as the third line center who feasts on opposing bottom-sixes or jump onto one of Horvat/Benier’s wing in a load up situation.
Detroit also could be tempting: the chance to play for Stevie Y and a 90 minute car ride from home. Detroit eventually needs to jump from rebuild to playoff mode, adding Horvat while retaining both Bertuzzi and Larkin would help immensely.
It was made official today: Bo Horvat got traded to the New York Islanders.
As much as I tried to prep myself for this day, it didn’t work. The realization that this is probably the first of many shoes to drop really hurts, that as a Canucks fan I’m looking at yet another decade of darkness. :banghead:
“Winter is coming.”
How bout these playoffs? The Leafs, Panthers and Seattle are doing some fun things.
Oilers lost. It will be a long, sad summer. :(

What a run!
Go Panthers, win one for Lou (Roberto Luongo)…
Thought preseason that Calgary did pretty good on return in that Tkachuk trade, instead he's been ridiculous good all season. Tkachuk and Bobrovsky each having an outstanding playoff run.
It is funny that the two warmest hockey markets are both in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Vegas, huh…cool, cool, cool…
:sobs tears of sadness between sips of his beer: :grumpy:
