I've heard and seen the video to got some teeth a load of times n i still reckon it's shite.
blatantly like without me... jack black aint funny, and trying to do something jack black did is even less funny. got some teeth is also a shitty subject matter n all.
eminem might only be getting better as a producer, but while he's shite shouldnt he be practicing in the studio rather than putting his shit out?
i'll probably look into the album, still think the single's shite though.
i dont reckon obie will blow up anywhere fucking near as much as 50 did, got some teeth is just shite (imo) whereas in da club was a pretty decent song til it went into overkill.

Getting Speakerboxx for sure in a few days...
The singles are "The Way You Move" (Big Boi) and "Hey Ya" (Andre). Both are typical radio/tv fare with wicked videos. I think "The Way You Move" is Neptunes. I like "Hey Ya" a little better, though Andre hardly does anything with rapping- mostly singing, which I hear he does a lot of on his disc.
Anyways, can't wait for this to drop. Wondering if I should get Grand Champion, though. I do have every other X album...is it worth it?

I've heard a lot of good things about the new DMX album, which maybe means it's good, after the last two which were a bit shite, but the lead single is the same corny crap he's been releasing for the last couple of years, so I wouldn't get your hopes up. I'd suggest that you 'try-before-you-buy', Kazaa-style .

Infamous, the mind boggles with some of your opinions, I heard Got Some Teeth today, and it's really mediocre at best, In Da Club was pound for pound a much hotter song, yet to you its the worst song ever and got some teeth own, I dont understand your reasoning.
Simon
September 21st, 2003, 6:00 PM
Subjective opinion
Got Some Teeth isn't earth-shatteringly brilliant, I just think it's a decent track...In Da Club I hated from the moment I first heard it, and the fact that you couldn't get away from it didn't help matters. And where corny is concerned, Got Some Teeth doesn't touch In Da Club...surely the most played out theme ever?
Suno
September 21st, 2003, 6:37 PM
The beat on In Da Club is so much sicker, and 50's got that head nodding melodic flow that suits the beat perfectly, its very easy on the ear and bangs, simple as that, Obies joint sounds like one big fucked up fart, and obie just sounds bored, like he cant be fucked.
And wtf? In da clubs corny with a played out theme? what so got some teeth isnt? haha.
Yeah, I like everytime though that someone questions your logic and your response is 'its all subjective', great, I mean sure it works with some arguments, but its pretty played out.
Simon
September 21st, 2003, 6:46 PM
Got Some Teeth is played out, sure, but In Da Club is just as corny, if not more IMO.
As for me saying 'subjective opinion', that is in reply to you saying that In Da Club is 'pound for pound a better song'...this implies fact, which it is not.
Like I said, I'm not a huge fan of Obie or Got Some Teeth, I just think it has a decent enough beat to do well. I can listen to that, whereas In Da Club irritated me from the start.
Fro

I thought In Da Club was a dope song. The beat was obviously not one of Dre's best, but bangin nonetheless. It was the kind of song you would put on at a party and every single person would start bouncin to it. And 50's ryhmes were tight enough. All that said, it was definetly one of my least favorite tracks on Get Rich Or Die Tryin. And as for Got Some Teeth, I have only heard it once and I didn't listen too thoroughly, but it seemed decent enough. Hot Em-style beat, goofy Obie lyrics...def gone be a hit. I bet it'll start gettin serious spins on Jam'n 9.45 (Boston) real soon. And when anything gets spins on Jam'n it is already doing really well cuz they only play pop shit. So as soon as Interscope gets that payolla to Jam'n I can blast that shit!

He's not great, but he's nowhere near as bad as you make him out to be! I'd agree that while he's still learning he shouldn't be releasing, but in future he'll be great IMO...he has the passion and the creativity for it.

Yeah, I'm harsh on him, but theres a big clutch of other producers who I can list, and are much better and I who I'd prefer to see supplying beats for artists, instead of eminem. I do like some of his shit, but his last LP for the majority was trash.
And I question that he has the passion and creativity for it too, seeing as he dosnt seem to have the passion and creativty to produce his best lyrics and rhymes anymore, and just fogs us off with some pretty mediocre shit, how'd you know the best of his production isnt behind him and he's fogging us off with wack beats?

I think that saying Obie can't be fucked in "Got Some Teeth" is fairly ironic when comparing with "In Da Club", a song in which 50 Cent barely seems interested in rapping at all. Obie has the better beat, but 50 Cent is definately going to be more successful as he will provide a style that Eminem will mould as much or as little as he likes whereas Obie seems to be the sort of chap that wont put up with too much changing.
I'm interested to hear his album when I get a copy

F*ck that. Can you specify what his mediocre shit is? The last joint he released was the 8 Mile soundtrack and that was some of his best work to date (lyrically and musically). His cameos on the 50 album were all dope. And in my opinion all of his mixtape shit has been straight fire (Invasion was ill) although I wouldn't judge him on that anyway. As for production, I personally liked the majority of his beats on The Eminem Show, 8 Mile and the 50 album. For someone who just started to get behind the boards a few years ago give him some f*ckin credit. I definetly see how someone would dislike his production, but I do not know where you are coming from with him losing his passion and creativity.
P.S. - I haven't heard the Obie album yet but here is a quote from HipHopDX.com: "On a related note, Eminem’s two rhyming appearances are absolute clinics on how to set a mic on fire. His verse on the outro is sure to boggle the mind."

Fuck that? Yeah man, fuck the fact that his whole style is different to the MC I used to love, the MC who was undenialby the illest circa the MMLP,/devils night who didnt givwe a fuck. Looking back, imo, now his style is a whole lot more compromised, and he seems to have sacrificed lyrics for ryhme shceme and flow, and his content is boring and whiney, also I see him using this gangsta facade (Go 2 Sleep) which is BS IMO, as oppose to the MC who would make you say oh shit! when he rhymed, and make you believe that he really didnt give a fuck. Are you telling me that his beats as of late have b een anywhere near close to shit like The Way I Am, Shit On You or Renegade?
I dunno, maybe its the fact that he really dosnt have to try as hard anymore and all you lot will buy and love his records regardless, to me he's changed, you could say he's evolved as an artist, thats fine and you can still like his shit, but to me he's not the MC that made me like him, and I could specify many verse and beats that are medicore, and alot of wack beats.
PS. MC's should stick to rhyming.

he seems to have sacrificed lyrics for ryhme shceme and flow
That pretty much sums up our disagreement. I liked the old, lyric-oriented Em starting with Infinite and culminating in the classic Marshal Mathers LP but I consider rhyme scheme and flow a progression, not a sacrifice. Because of this, I consider a song like "Lose Yourself" to be a level or two above his older work. I understand that you liked his witty lyrics and shit, but don't say he doesn't try anymore. You gotta realize that his new style (if you wanna call it that) is a step up and without doubt takes more effort, more intelligent writing and more concentration. Knock it if you want, but yeah, I'm gonna say "f*ck that" when you say he's lost his passion.

His new style isn't a step up, I doubt a long elaborate multi takes more effort, more intelligent writing and more concertration. You seem to dismiss the fact that eminem used to have dope muti's and rhyme schemes way back, but he also used to have sick punches, witty lyrics and intresting content.
A song like square dance is a prime example of stupid generic shit that you would have never heard him spitting back around MMLP or SSLP, and his content is straight ass, he's either crying about how hard it is being rich, or his mother, or how he's a fucking nutcase gangster, boring shit that was entertaining the first time around but is now played out and he's not using creatice lyricsm or wordplay anymore, unless you count some bannanas rhyme scheme that has fucking hollow lyrics.
I do think he's lost passion, because the Eminem that I first liked was a sick MC who wasn't rich and still had something to prove, now he's rich and he dosnt have to try as hard, this transistion in styles seems to be simultaneous with his transistion in status, coincidence? maybe, some people think he has evolved as an artist, making his own beats and structuring his raps around them, not the traditional way mind you, but still, he's sucessful and teenage girls around the world will still adore anything he is affiliated with, Im just not a fan.
Please listen to some of his older verses, from songs like remember me, shit on you, and countless other songs and tell me that you prefer his newer ish, because I cant see the progression.

Picked up the new Outkast double album today, and it is definetly on par with all of their previous discs. Musically, it is a 10/10. Andre and Big Boi have slowly become masters of the boards. Andre especially. "The Love Below" is definetly an alternative album. As you've obviously heard, Dre tries out his signing voice on almost every single song. I (and everyone else it seems) would definetly rather hear him rap. But, it's still an enjoyable album...as I said before the musical content alone is enough to keep this one in your stereo. "Speakerboxx" is nothing but dope. Big Boi's rhymes are never anything but excellent. All in all, this was probably the best 11 bucks I have ever spent on music. You get two full length albums, with two different artists and two different styles, for the price of one. Pick it up.
P.S. - I got mine at Best Buy and it was only $10.99. Cop it soon or the price is gonna go up.

i love outkast.
but after listening to speakerboxxx/love below i almost gave it away. dissapointed is an understatement.
if 'the love below' were released by anyone but andre 3000 it would be considered a joke. but because he carries so much cache as an artists its called brilliant...pushing musical boundaries doesn't always make for great musical choices. an artist can do whatever they want but i ,as a fan, feel cheated that a great mc turns on his audience and doesn't deliver....call me selfish, i don't know. some of the tracks and musical selections were compelling, but what was the purpose? again, i'm missing something. keep in mind that this is a rushed decision after one forced listen to it, but i can't see this growing on me.....at all. its cool that people dig it and this new direction andre is going, i'm just not one of them.
speakerboxxx is ok, but doesn't stand up to previous outkast albums....that's probably because its not an outkast album, duh. big boi delivers but its definitely lacking. and again, some of the musical choices i wasn't down with.
take those rash judgments for whatever their worth.

I got Outkast yesterday and I think it's great. Big Boi's album was good, but the 3 skits, intro and outro made for some excessive waste. Tracks like "Tomb of the Boom" sound uninspired, but there is more than enough quality to make up for it. Standout tracks: Ghetto Musick, War, Reset. 8/10
Andre3000's album was really something different. The fusion of jazz, rock, R&B, rap and some other experimental stuff comes off well on most tracks, but it doesn't work on "Pink and Blue". That song sounds like it was being different just for the sake of being different. "A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre" is awesome and the guest appearance by Kelis fits well. Standout Tracks: She's Alive, Hey Ya!, Dracula's Wedding. 8.5/10

You know, this rap game is a lot like high school. And high school is a lot like life. You see, in life you gotta do things to set yourself apart from your peers. You need to identify the qualities that seperate you from those around you. After all, isnt that what most people spend their life trying to accomplish. Wouldn't we all want somebody somewhere later on down the line to remember the things that were different about us. Dont you understand, the more you fit in the less you're noticed. That's how it is. For anyone to walk through life unnoticed as if they never mattered could be a punishment worse than death and at the same time that punishment is the only way you can truly be free. Free from the things you want people to remember about you but also free from the things you want them to forget. I don't know if that freedom exists for me anymore and even though I dream about what it would be like, it's just a dream. Because I realize now more than ever that i can't have my cake and eat it too. No one can and as time goes on we will always be loved by some and hated by others and whether the people who talk bad about you know it or not they really save you from obscurity every time they mention your name. You see, anytime anybody ever talks about you either directly or indirectly they put a quarter in your immortal meter. They keep you alive whether they want to or not. They practically do the opposite of what they wanna do which is forget you. I dedicate this song to the day when you motherfuckers finally figure it out and the day that you bury me and erase the memory of me. Here lies a man who became forgotten to the world in his search to the key for immortality. He never made an impact. He changed nothing and his words meant nothing. He never contributed to the rap game. He never gave you anything to talk about. He never existed and he never made a difference. His name was nobody.....

An update on Deliverance:
It did end up growing on me quite a bit. If you want to just download some of the stuff that'll get you right away, get "Jimmy Mathis," "Comin' Round," and "Back in the Mud," which is produced by Organized Noize and kick all kinds of ass.
Really, though, the best material is surprisingly (or not?) handled by Noize. People were saying this was going to be Timbaland's great work, but his production actually gets pretty tired. And having Justin Timberlake come in to handle a chorus? WEAK.
If Bubba could stop focusing on his rural past and start doing some of his own shit, I think he'd put out a pretty damn good release. As it it, I'd give Deliverance 3 mics, 3 stars, 7/10, etc.
If, uh, anyone cared.

Speakerboxxx
Intro
Ghetto Musick feat Andre3000 – This track is sheer insanity. Awesome way to kick the album off and both guys bring lots of energy over a fast beat. The break in between verses might catch you off guard, but it fits in quite well. (5/5)
Unhappy – Big Boi slows the pace down for this track and talks about his life in retrospect. It’s a nice change from the explosive previous track. (3.5/5)
Bowtie feat. Sleepy Brown – Patented Outkast horns on the chorus provided by Sleepy. Typical Big Boi lyrics about gators and furs, but his delivery and flow come off nicely. This is a really catchy song and could be possible second single. (3.5/5)
The Way You Move feat Sleepy Brown – Everyone’s heard this song by now. Big Boi’s mumble-mouthed flow goes well over the simplistic beat and Sleepy serves up another good hook. (4/5)
The Rooster – Big Boi tells an amusing story over the escalating-tempo and heavy percussion on this song. The hook is again catchy and funny. Lyrically, he stepped his game up a lot in all 3 verses, telling a comprehensive tale and adding humor to it. (4/5)
Bust feat Killer Mike – The roaring guitars are perfect for Mike’s vicious style and he really steals the show here. I wish there was another verse because this ended too fast. (3.75/5)
War – On this track, Big Boi discusses the happenings in America since 9/11, and conveys a lot of emotion. The beat changes after the first verse and that’s when he really gets his point across. That scratched movie sample adds a nice element to this track. (5/5)
Church – Exactly as the title says, this song is about going to church and the hook asks “Why are we here?” Andre produces this song and the beat can really put you in a better mood. (3.75/5)
Bamboo – Even though this is just an interlude, you need to hear Big Boi’s son. It’s hilarious.
Tomb of the Boom feat Konkrete, Big Gipp and Ludacris – This beat sounds lazy and uninspired. The only low point of Speakerboxxx so far. (2/5)
E-Mac Interlude
Knowing – This beat and Andre yelling on the hook really sets a dramatic atmosphere for this track similar to “The Art Of Storytelling 2”. This more than makes up for “Tomb of the Boom”. (4.5/5)
Flip Flop Rock feat Killer Mike and Jay-Z – This was the first single leaked on the Internet and rightfully so. Big Boi silences rumors of an Outkast breakup, Killer Mike runs all over this beat and Jay-Z ends it off nicely at the end with the slick flow. (3.5/5)
Interlude
Reset feat Khujo and Cee-Lo – Incredible. Debra Killings sings the hook beautifully and this song really gets to me. Cee-Lo proves why he’s one of the most underrated MC’s today. (5/5)
D-Boi Interlude
Last Call feat Slimm Calhoun, Mello and Lil Jon – This is more of the same crunk-club stuff that I hate, so this rating comes biased (1.5/5)
Bowtie Postlude – I don’t see why this was added. More pointless filler.
OVERALL – I was very impressed with Big Boi’s lyrics and strong production. He shows he can succeed without Andre, but the filler (4 skits, intro and outro) somewhat brings this unskippable-quality down. (8.5/10)
---------------------------
The Love Below
The Love Below Intro – Nice introduction to the album and Andre sings over a piano similar to Frank Sinatra. (3.5/5)
Love Hater – The guitars throw you off at the beginning, but this is actually very heavily jazz-influenced. Some of the lyrics are comedic, but he speaks truthfully saying “Nobody wants to grow old alone”. (4/5)
God Interlude
Happy Valentines Day – Andre speaks as Cupid Valentino (the modern day Cupid) over pounding bass and tells us how you cant out run Cupid. Very catchy and this is one of the few tracks where he raps. (4/5)
Spread – Andre sings like Prince on this X-Rated chorus and raps for a bit like only he can. Trumpets accent the hook and are followed by a very nice piano. Again, the jazz influence is prominent. (3.5/5)
Where are my Panties? Interlude – No real comments here, except he tells the story of the morning after a one-night stand from both perspectives and is quite interesting
Prototype – Simply beautiful. Andre really captures the emotions that people experience when in love just by the way he sings in this song. This track has a really dream-like feel to it. (4.5/5)
She Lives In My Lap feat Rosario Dawson – I don’t know why Rosario is even on this song, but she doesn’t take anything away from it. The beat is more suited for a rap song, but Dre makes it work with his own style of singing and storytelling. (3.8/5)
Hey Ya! – This is the single of the year IMO. The energy and the chorus are infectious and this sticks in you head for hours. (4.5/5)
Roses feat Big Boi – This is Big Boi’s only appearance on The Love Below and he makes the most of it on this track about putting arrogant women who “think they’re sh*t don’t stink” in place. (3/5)
Good Day, Good Sir Interlude
Behold a Lady – Andre asks where all the good girls go on another catchy song. The beat, though simple, is effective and his lyrics are on point again. This is the only song where he sounds off-key at points, but that’s only temporary. (4/5)
Pink & Blue – The song opens with Aaliyah’s “Age Aint Nothing but a Number” being scratched and if followed by a hypnotizing beat. This song sounds like it was being different just for the sake of being different though. (2/5)
Love In War – The beat hits hard, reminiscent of Stankonia’s “Xxplosion”. Dre asks for kissing and love over fighting and war and the words stay caught in your head. There is a long break between verses where only the music plays, which kind of takes away from the song (3.5/5)
She’s Alive – This sounds like something off a Coldplay album as he sings about a young single mother raising a son and how the father was never there. The emotion in Andre’s words really set a dreary mood. (4/5)
Dracula’s Wedding feat Kelis – The energy is brought back to this album over a brilliant conceptual track. Kelis and Andre work together really well and I forgot what a good singer she really is. (5/5)
My Favorite Things – This track is just Norah Jones trying to play her piano over Andre’s frantically paced production for the whole time. The instrumentation is really well put together. (4.5/5)
Take Off Your Cool feat Norah Jones – Andre plays his acoustic guitar as he and Norah sing together on a song that wouldn’t sound out of place on her album. The feeling is really mellow, and it’s a shame this song is so short. (4/5)
Vibrate – The beat sounds like a record being spun backwards with some extra instruments and is really laid back. There is only 1 verse with a chorus being repeated for most of it, but I could listen to this all day because of how this songs puts your mind at ease. (4/5)
A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre (Incomplete) – 3000 raps for nearly 5 minutes, telling the story of his whole career from when Southernplayalisticcadillacmuzik came out up until after his son was born with Erykah Badu. The way his voice flows over this beat is hypnotic and he ends it off saying “…and that’s all I got down.” If there is a sequel to this track, I cant wait to hear it. (5/5)
OVERALL – Some fans may feel as if Andre3000 has turned his back on fans by singing instead of rapping, because he is one of the greatest rappers ever. I see it like he has grown tired of rapping and has found a new way to express himself, without Big Boi and has broken down many musical boundaries because of it. A lot of people think he has gone over the deep end here, but I think of it as an extension and full expression of his experimental side that we only saw in small doses on songs like “Red Velvet” and “Gasoline Dreams”. (9/10)

How this ranks among my albums of the year:
1. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below - Outkast
2. Rip the Jacker - Canibus'
3. The Ownerz - Gang Starr

Outkast Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
Speakerboxxx
1.Intro... Pretty lame, but necessary for the first time you listen, the first track would be too harsh on your ears otherwise because...
2.Ghetto Musick- This song comes in hard and fast, which alone would be a good enough opening for any CD, but they take it a bit further by slowing it down for the "hook". I loved it (9/10)
3.Unhappy- Slows it down in a good way and I think this song is perfect in its spot as a transfer of mood. (9/10)
4.Bowtie- Nice horn track, good flow, decent, unspectacular effort overall (6/10)
5.The Way You Move- Super bass, super hook, super song overall (8/10)
6.The Rooster- Has a very nice progressive feel which I really like, I don't like the hook much, but I like the concept and music. (7/10)
7.Bust- Killer Mike makes an excellent appearance that is more than I thought he was capable on a beat that seemed tailored more towards him than Big Boi. (7/10)
8.War- Seemed to me like two throw away beats connected by an explosion, like a toned down version of Humble Mumble from Stankonia (a song I actually loved) (5/10)
9.Church- A fun high paced song which I think anchors the album well from the middle (9/10)
10.Bamboo(Interlude)- When I first heard this, I felt cheated... it seemed like they were wasting a really good beat in the background but then...
11.Tomb of the Boom- I was relieved to see that it was used for the next track which gave this group called Konkrete a chance to shine along with a verse from Ludacris. (8/10)
12.E-Mac(Interlude)- Very Forgettable
13.Knowing- Nothing Special in my mind (5/10)
14.Flip Flop Rock- In my mind one of the best songs on the album. Very surprising (to me at least) Killer Mike seems to steal the show (with a little help from the piano roll at the beginning of his verse). Everything seems to slow down and say listen now... which is good for a song. (10/10)
15.Interlude- Sounds like Cee-Lo describing Outkast through their history, rousing in a way, and a good lead-in to the next song.
16.Reset- My favorite song on the album, but then again I like Khujo Goodie and Cee-Lo who always seem to give it their all on Outkast songs. But mainly the beat is just sick. (10/10)
17.D-Boi(Interlude)- Yep...another one
18.Last Call- If you like Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, you'll like this song. If not, you'll wonder what its doing here... (7/10)
19. Bowtie(Postlude)- Unneecessary
Overall- Great album, but a victim of filler(too many interludes) (9/10)
The Love Below
1.The Love Below(Intro)- Great sounding Intro, beautiful lead in to...
2. Love Hater- I love the way this song plays out, great music and lyrics combine for a tough team on this one. (10/10)
3. God(Interlude)- Good for an interlude, funny the first time
4. Happy Valentine's Day- I know its still September, but I know what I'm rocking come 2/14/04. This song is one of my favorites on the album. (10/10)
5. Spread- Another extremely hot song, and at this point I'm thinking, if it continues at this rate, it'll be my favorite album of all time... keep in mind though, to this point Andre has rapped a verse on two of the three songs (10/10)
6. Where are My Panties?- Another good interlude, funny the first time
7. Prototype- A little too much love at this point, the theme is starting to wear a bit. (6/10)
8.She Lives in My Lap- Another weirdish song by Andre, which was really cool the first time, not as good to me anymore. (6/10)
9. Hey Ya- I like this song alot, but it no longer seems weird to me after hearing the rest of the album (8/10)
10. Roses- A funny song with my favorite run-on line of all time ("I hope she's speeding on the way to the club trying to hurry up and get to some baller or singer or something like that and put on her makeup in the mirror and..."). You get the picture, don't want to spoil the line for you. (9/10)
11. Good Day Good Sir- One of the few Interludes I still think is funny.
12.Behold A Lady- The singing is getting to be a little much at this point, he hasn't rapped a verse since "Spread" (6/10)
13. Pink and Blue- I love the beginning and the end, the middle seems botched. When the bass came in, I thought, "Well he's gotta rap on this one", but no, he manages to avoid it. (7/10)
14. Love in War- Now its getting a little out of hand... (4/10)
15. She's Alive- I actually liked this song, despite the fact its continuing a troubling trend. I expected weird, but I still expected rap. (8/10)
16.Dracula's Wedding- Funny song, good cameo by Kelis (especially the line about peanut butter and jelly) (8/10)
17. (unlisted)- Seems to be a instrumental techno version of "A Few of My Favorite Things". Really cool rendition. (9/10)
18. Take Off Your Cool- A cool little song, (no pun intended) (7/10)
19. Vibrate- To quote John Madden... This son goes nowhere..."and Nowhere fast"
(4/10)
20. A Life in the Day of Benjamin Andre- Right when you've given up on actually hearing Andre do a rap song....He hits a grand slam... Yes I mean Grand Slam, because every other song(i am now convinced) was made just to set this one up. On a rap album this song would probably be lost, on this album it makes it a masterpiece which his fans are probably starving for. (10/10)
Overall: In the end, I like the album, it takes alot of chances. Sometimes it swings and misses hard, sometimes it hits a homerun. (8/10)
Combined: Big Boi and Andre cover all bases, and their albums are thouroughly enjoyable, especially Andre's the first time. While Andre's is the best the first time, Big Boi's seems to get better with every listen. So combined, 9+8/2 = (10/10)

Tech N9ne- Anghellic
1. Devil Boy- Love the music, the flow , and the guitar breakdown in the middle (you'll know it when you hear it) (8/10)
2. Hellevator- Seems like a weird little interlude when you first hear it, makes sense later
3. Tormented- My favorite song on the album. Love the chorus, and actually takes advantage of a style often abused by the "Big Tymers" to actually impress in a song as well as make it catchy. (10/10)
4. Stamina- Showing off over some gunclapping...for about 10 seconds, kind of ironic when you think about it...
5. Sinister Tech- Love the walking Piano, love the bassline, love the chorus, love the laugh, whats not to love about this song (10/10)
6. Psycho Messages- Good lead in to the next song, kudos if you can listen to its entirety more than twice though.
7. Psycho *****- "Halloween" theme, high velocity track, gotta love it. (7/10)
8. Real Killer- Tale about abortion, good story, bad hook... (6/10)
9. Cursed- I love the narrative on this song, you gotta listen to this song alot, it really displays hunger at its best. (10/10)
10. Suicide Letters- This is a nice song, with a good hook sung by Nichia Cayson. To me, her voice really stood out, and I have a weird feeling she's gonna end up being big one day. (8/10)
11. Purgatory- Kind of a benchmark interlude
12.Its Alive- Good verses, kind of lame hook (7/10)
13. Einstein Tech N9ne- I like this song because of how different it is in sound from alot of the other songs. (8/10)
14. Breathe- I love the chorus on this one (seems hit and miss on that through the album). As always the verses are great. (8/10)
15. Who You Came to See?- Standard bragging and boasting, but it actually sounds good on this (it better if you are gonna pat your own back) (9/10)
16. Wake Up Call- Interlude
17.This Ring- I like the fluxuations he puts on his voice in this song, its a nice touch and sets him apart from alot of the monotone rappers today. (8/10)
18. God Complex- Really good song, and I guess he sang the hook which shows me he has a really complex voice (9/10)
19.F.T.I.- Reminiscient (sp?) of the song that got me to start listening to Tech N9ne in the first place (Industry is Punks). In case you are wondering... F.T.I. stands for **** the Industry. (9/10)
20. Going Bad- Decent song, winding down kind of feeling (7/10)
21. Heaven - By now, hopefully you've gotten the concept of the album figured out
22. Twisted- Great closer, almost Gagne-like (for you baseball fans out there) Includes Roger Troutman on the hook apparently just before he died (I didn't even know) The only song in his "Heaven" section. (10/10)
Overall: A very good album that I think everyone should pick it up. I really hope his popularity picks up, because he makes very good music (9/10)

NAS - GOD'S SON
1. GET DOWN
The more I hear this song the more it grows on me, yeah I know the beat's from another song... Suno knows the one, Lord Finesse or whatever. The video's shite but it's a decent track.
8/10
2. THE CROSS
I seem to like this song more than anyone else, I love the "if mary had an abortion i'd still be carried in the chariot by stampedin horses", beat ain't all that ... well it's eminem obviously. Seein as the album's called God's Son I reckon it works n' it's a pretty good track.
7/10
3. MADE YOU LOOK
Didn't like this when it first came out, there's a few lines in there I really like, nothin amazing just little things. "don't say my car's topless, say the titties is out." it's grown on me now especially the hook. good track.
8/10
4. LAST REAL NIGGA ALIVE
Semi-Jigga diss, nothing like Ether but more of a story about Ghostface/Biggie. I like it quite a lot but i think if he was gonna carry on taking a go at jay he should've gone all out.
7/10
5. ZONE OUT (FEAT. BRAVEHEARTS)
Eurgh!
4/10
6. HEY NAS (FEAT. KELIS & CLAUDETTE ORTIZ FROM CITY HIGH)
I like the beat to this, real good chill out/down track, can play it at night or day or whenever, nothin great but a good track at any time.
7/10
7. I CAN
I like this... the beat's catchy and maybe a bit cheesy, but i really like the song. got a bit of overkill goin on, but the third verse does it for me.
7/10
8. BOOK OF RHYMES
Great track, great innovation. Nas personified.
9/10
9. MASTERMIND
This song just don't stand out to me, it's a decent enough track and everything, but it just don't stand out to me. alright/good track.
7/10
10. THUGZ MANSION (N.Y.) (FEAT. 2PAC AND J. PHOENIX)
I prefer the just pac on better dayz so much, it captures the spirit n shit of the song so much better. i really hate 'covers' too, so maybe i'm bein a bit harsh. still a good track though, but nothing on the pac solo.
8/10
11. WARRIOR SONG (FEAT. ALICIA KEYS)
Good track if you're in the mood, don't really stand out for me either. Been a while since i really listened to it properly, alright track.
7/10
12. REVOLUTIONARY WARFARE (FEAT. LAKE)
Same as above really, just don't really do it for me, but still an aight track.
7/10
13. DANCE
Great tribute, mighta sounded better with someone like faith evans or whatever on the hook, but i think it's good nas does it himself. "the galaxy is so enchantin beyond galileo's understandin, there's something out there greater, but only god knows, scientists claim we came from apes but they liars though." - classic tribute shit.
10/10
14. HEAVEN (FEAT. JULLY BLACK)
They got the track listin a lot better than they did on stillmatic. I love this track too, the hook, the verses, the ideas, everything. "look at me mom, i love you girl, ya boy's shinin, god's son." great endin to the album, perfect track listin wise.
10/10
OVERALL - there's a few i aint in too, one that's shite, a couple that are pretty/really good, and three fucking classics. track listin is much better than stillmatic. i personally prefer the whole attitude/theme behind stillmatic, but they're pretty equal. great album.

I got Jedi Mind Tricks' "Visions of Gandhi" today. The beats are awesome and Stoupe is easily one of my favorite producers. Vinnie Paz really comes correct on some tracks, but on others he sounds unmotivated and raps a few lame battle verses. He has the intensity in his rhymes and some really good imagery, but at times it felt like he didn't really try when he was writing. He gets outshined on almost every track that has a guest spot. I would rate this album around 7-7.5/10.
QuietStorm

Vinnie Paz has fallen off big time. He is way too obsessed with homosexuals and bashing Christianity. This album is so far inferior to Violent By Design. And Jus Allah is a much better MC than Vinnie Paz.
spanish announce table
September 30th, 2003, 3:41 PM
There are way too many gay and Jesus bashing lyrics on this album. I hated his flow on a lot of tracks too. He would just compare himself to things, say what he likes or what he hates
"I like blood...I like tasting your flesh/
I like slugs...I'm like David Koresh/"
or
"You like to hold hands with faggots/
You live like a savage.../
You like the smell of males on your mattress/"
or
"I hate you...I hate your parents 'cause they made you/
I hate the universe because it created you"
It would work for maybe a track or two, but he overdoes it. He is very bland on a lot of songs and Stoupe saves this album from complete failure.

NAS - STILLMATIC
1. Stillmatic (The Intro)
I usually aint a fan of intros but this is a gooden as far as intros go.
7-8/10
2. Ether
Best diss ever? So many classic lines. "how many biggies rhymes gon come out your fat lips?" ... "i roc hoes y'all roc fellas" to name a couple. nas showin how it's done.
10/10
3. Got Ur Self A Gun
Arguably aimed at jay, and a tribute to big/pac. Fuckin love this song, great ebat, great flow, great lyrics... just classic shit.
10/10
4. Smokin'
Song don't really stand out to me, maybe it's because the rest of the beginnin of the album is so fucking good, alright track though.
7/10
5. You're Da Man
I love this track, good chill out track. Lyrics are good, and the hook is (imo) just great.
8/10
6. Rewind
Nas personified like book of rhymes. story told backwards "shoot don't please," great track.
9/10
7. One Mic
Classic fucking shit. Beat. Flow. Lyrics. Passion. If i was gonna name the best lyrics i'd just copy out the whole song. the best song for years and still ain't been bettered.
10/10
8. 2nd Childhood
ain't really into this, good enough track i suppose, bit of a let down after one mic.
6/10
9. Destroy & Rebuild
Love this track too, disses at Cormega, Prodigy (Mobb Deep), Nature and generally the weaknesses in QB. Not on the same level as Ether... not even close... but what is?
9/10
10. The Flyest
A real change in mood all of a sudden, like simon said the listing order is bollocks. decent enough track, not really my thing, nothing special.
7/10
11. Rule
Good song, samples "everybody wants to rule the world" from years ago, "peace... peace... peace" sorta contradicts "i got mine i hope u got urself a gun"... but it's a good track.
7/10
12. My Country
I don't think many people really like this one, i do. the verse that ain't nas' i find myself skipping though. i like the outro probably as much as anything else, some good lyrics i can't remember off the top of my head.
7-8/10
13. What Goes Around
Nothing special, most people would have turned it off by now anyway after listening to the whole lp through once.
6/10
14. Every Ghetto
If i remember rightly, this is the track about "fake titties is life destruction," alright track i suppose, not the same level as the rest of it.
7/10
Overall
One Mic, Destroy and Rebuild, Got Urself..., Stillmatic, Rewind, Ether are all fucking quality. If the other 8 songs were almost as good the album would be shitloads better. Even if he cut the list down to ten songs and made the average better... but meh. I prefer this to god's son and probably the blueprint as well.
8-9/10

Deathrow Prezentz: TUPAC: Tha Nu-Mixx Klazzicz
1. 2 Of America'z Most Wanted feat. Crooked I
Crooked I tears snoops ass on this song and compliments Tupac's voice and flow much more. The beat is totally switched, however, with a more clubby beat than a "ridin'" beat. The difference changes the flavor of the song a good bit, so if you like this song as a straight ride on em song, then i give it a 6.5/10. If you think this song would be a better club banger and like faster flows than snoop, then i give a 8/10. Good opener.
2. How Do U Want It?
The beat is very well-produced. It ranges in flavor a little from verse to verse and actually makes K-Ci and Jo Jo sound better than in the OG. A nice riding song and good to hump to.7/10
3. Hail Mary feat. Outlawz
A new creep intro sets the mood as the beat creates a futuristic arabic flavor. The new sound is going to take you time to get use to, but once you listen to it twice you'll love it, trust me. Tupac sound very venomous on this rmx and his chorus sound scarier, but the outlawz sound better on the OG. Overall a good rmx, could've used a little more instruments. 7/10
4. Life Goez On
A new girl singing on the chorus and a much saddening beat than the OG. A beautiful guitar riff hits every bar and matches Tupac's rhymes to a tee. It doesn't have the energy of the OG, but consiquently, it has a sad feeling which actually matches the words better. Love it and equal to the OG. 9/10
5. All Eyez On Me feat. Big Syke
I love the new beat, even if it can get a little repetitive. The producer sped up the vocals a little which makes Pac sound like he's coming a little more solid and turns Syke's previously SLOOOOW AND BOOORING verse into a nice average flow. The production on the hook is better than the OG, with Tupac's vocals repeating from quite to loud. Sound great with a good bass system. 8.5/10
6. Heartz Of Men
The worst rmx on the cd. Still not terrible, but the beat is the same 7 second sound looped with a few different sounds thrown in here and there and a spiced up chorus. Tupac flows VERY nice to it, but even if the beat is nice, it gets boring and makes you want to change the track. The chorus seems off, too. If you can listen through it, it can be appealig, but it's hard to. 5/10
7. Toss It Up
This song is PERFECT. The producer managed to top the OG version on the Makaveli album. However, that's probably because it's similiar on many levels to the OG, but he added some nice touches (especially in Tupac's 2nd verse) and a bass line that kills the OG's. In the end, Tupac's disses are loud and clear inlike in the OG and makes the track even that much better. I'll be bumping this for a long time to come. 10/10
8. Hit 'Em Up feat. Outlawz
The beat is simple but comes proper and the edited versions of the verses makes it sound new and much different from the OG released version. Not much to say, a classic track that's been rmx'ed into a worthy song of Tupac's name. 8.5/10
9. Never Had A Friend Like Me
Once again, perfection. This slits the OG's throat with a tight copter intro and musical bliss and variety throughout. One of Pac's best lyrical songs as well and sweet gunshot effect in the 3rd verse that demands notice. 10/10
10. Ambitionz Az A Ridah
How could they screw this up? THEY CAN'T! And they didn't. This rmx is equal to the OG with a bangin' spanish guitar in the chorus and a HARD bassline. Classic tupac verse on a 100% BANGIN' new beat to breath new life into Pac's classic. 10/10
OVERALL:8/10

details are understandably tight on Jay-Z's swan song, The Black Album, as speculation has swirled for months on what MC would pull out of his hat. Now, however, information is starting to leak out, despite his label's closed-mouth policy, including what the likely first single will be for the album. "Change Clothes & Go," will be people's initial taste, a song produced by the Neptunes and featuring Pharrell on the hook.
As with everything Jay-Z works on, plans could ultimately change. But if they hold steady, the single would start to hit mixtapes and the streets by the end of October. The album is due out on November 28.
Jay-Z has said he'll use his favorite producers for The Black Album (see"Jay-Z Strays From His Blueprint For Black Album"). A spokesperson at Def Jam confirmed he's already worked with mainstays like Kanye West, Just Blaze and Timbaland, in addition to the Neptunes. The most surprising producer in the mix, though, has been Rick Rubin, who worked with Jay in Los Angeles recently. Jay-Z is still currently in the studio and there's no guarantee that anything he's worked on thus far will make the final cut of the album.

i know i promised a review of HOPE but i've been busy these last few days so i'm jacking one i liked off the internet. yeah, weak, i know but it'll have to do for now. i'lll try to add to it later. enjoy........
No one likes Sage Francis. At least that's how it seems sometimes. Hailed as an Internet superstar after winning a Scribble Jam championship while wearing flannel and releasing a series of incredible tour-only CDs, 2002 saw the release of his Personal Journals on Anticon's eponymous imprint. The album's emotional poignancy tapped a new vein in the hip-hop canon, valuing vulnerability over machismo facades. Now he's teamed up with longtime producer Joe Beats to develop Hope, and if the album isn't a direct response to anyone who ever dubbed him "emo," it's proof he can play as hard in either arena.
Hope shows a new Francis altogether, employing bouncy cadences, explosive deliveries and complex rhyme schemes. A vast majority of the album is dedicated to various references to older hip-hop, including that of OC, Black Sheep, Beastie Boys, Audio Two, De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, among others. He even drops his own crit with lines like "faker than Raekwon's stutter" and "Das EFX rocked that band-aid ten years before Nelly did!" His writing focuses on lighter subjects here, from his disdain for rambunctious children ("Disasters") to his views on commercial music ("Mainstream 307") to his eccentric nature regarding different facets of existence ("Spaceman"), making for a solid record that, in terms of both diversity and delivery, puts Personal Journals to shame.
The biggest testament to the looser nature of this album compared to his last is the inclusion of a fully developed song by his most popular alter ego. Riding a bass-heavy doorknocker with a foreign vocal sample, "Xaul Zan's Heart" is one of Sage's funniest performances, playing the role of a misogynist pseudo-pimp that claims to be "deeper than Sage Francis," "the life of the search party," and a "fairy godmother fucker," closing the song with "I am womanizer, hear me, whore." If you've doubted Francis would be capable of diversifying, this track should change your mind.
And of course, Sage is still fully capable of the emotional style he built his name on. Rapping over a swaying ambient track with lone trumpet salvos and subtle synths, "The Cure" closes the album with a tour-de-force, placing Sage in line as one of the best writers in hip-hop today: "You're not the travelling type?/ Then hide your baggage better," he tells a significant other, while the repetition of "when a boy writes off the world, it's done with sloppy, misspelled words/ If a girl writes off the world, it's done in cursive" stands as a powerful reminder to the inherent beauty of womankind. Paired with a sharp rhyme scheme ("Now I look for air pockets to pick, walk with a stick/ Start picking locks with it, opening up heart-shaped lockets with little arguments/ Tawdry trinkets start to split and contradict/ Those who say one thing but think the opposite") and a ridiculously tight flow, it stands as one of the year's most delicately and intricately written songs.
For a producer with such a low profile, Joe Beats makes an explosive splash in his first full-length effort. His chemistry with Sage Francis is apparent throughout the album, as the interplay between them on a musical and vocal level is something many producer/emcee teams still need to explore. Beats' use of beautifully raw drum programming hits like a more accessible Jel, and his mid-90s sampling style harkens back to Pete Rock and Prince Paul, or the low-end proficiency of a young Ali Shaheed Mohammed. From the floating, atmospheric keyboard of "Spaceman" to the triumphant horn-led acoustic guitar crisscross "Tolerance Level", Joe Beats easily manages to bridge the gap between forward thinking and traditionalism.
The only complaint I can come up with is that it'd have been nice to hear more of the introspective style they offer on "Come Come Now", but then, that would defeat the purpose of the album. Sage Francis and Joe Beats set out with an impressive goal-- to create the ultimate 1994 record in 2003-- and they succeed admirably, paying tribute to the past while revising it for the future. A highly valued reminder of the need for traditionalism in modern music, Hope stands strong as one of the year's best records.

The W is great ... "Careful (Click, Click)," "Hollow Bones," "I Can't Go To Sleep" ... all great fucking tracks. RZA's approach was a little darker and more harsh than on the first two Wu albums and I think it makes the album seem almost menacing in a way. And, yeah, "Conditioner" is pretty hilarious/awesome.

Brief review of "The W" before I go to school (I hope this is the right order)
Chamber Music - Awesome opener to the album, with everyone spitting nicely over a dope beat (4.5/5)
Careful - Cappadonna and U-God actually sound good on this track and hold their own even though Deck and Ghost have the best verses. I like how the voices sound "unmastered" (4.5/5)
Hollow Bones - Awesome storytelling from Rae and Deck. The hook is really catchy. (4/5)
Redbull - Redman tears it up with the opening verse and Meth follows up nicely. "You little fucks. Gimme your fucking money" (4/5)
One Blood Under W - Junior Reid is  MK has a voice that makes you want to listen to him. (3.8/5)
Conditioner - I dont know ODB even recorded this verse because I think he was in jail at the time. I love the hook for this song. GZA's appearance at the end is awesome. He sounds mad as hell over a dope beat, its just a shame that Deck didnt get to say much. (4/5)
The Jumpoff - Deck has the opening, and best verse, much like Triumph. I like how the beat changes for U-God and then the 2 beats blend together at the end. (5/5)
Let My Niggas Live - 3 of my favorite MC's over a dark RZA beat. Fuckin awesome. (5/5)
I Cant Go To Sleep - Nobody I know likes this song as much as I do. Ghostface and RZA rap verses with so much emotion and Chef is a nice addition. Remember in the video when the milk comes out of GFK's mouth? (5/5)
Do You Really - This is the only song not produced by RZA, but Allah Mathematics does a good job. A Streetlife cameo is always welcomed by me. (4/5)
The Monument - Busta isnt really needed, but he did a good job. I love the beat change when Raekwon spits. (3.5/5)
Gravel Pit - I like Raekwon and RZA's introductions in between verses. Surprisingly, U-God does a good job, but Ghost's flow is too much. (4.5/5)
Jah World - This could have been called I Cant Go To Sleep pt. II, but it stands out on its own. As I said before, Junior Reid is  Ghost's verse is another stand out. There is a hidden track after this called "Clap" (I geuss) which should have been a seperate track. (4/5)
OVERALL - I'm glad I got rid of Clipse and instead got this album. The good rappers (ghost, Rae, Deck, GZA, MK) get a fair amount of time, while the not so good (U-God and Cappa) prove they are much better in small doses. (8.6/10)

Spanish, about "Conditioner" ... I think you were asking how ODB recorded his part. If you weren't, then ignore the following:
He just did it over the phone, someone's answering machine, actually. Just called somebody up and let 'er rip.
I'm 99% sure that's the story, at least.

I listened to Get Rich the other day having not listened to it properly since I first bought it when it came out...it's not as bad as I thought at that time, there are a few good tracks (Many Men, What Up Gangsta, Patiently Waiting) and the beats overall are nice...he's not the great rapper that the media inevitably build him up to me, but Get Rich Or Die Trying stands up as a decent album IMO.

I reviewed the 8 Mile soundtrack yesterday on another site, may as well post it here too...
--------------------------------------
Lose Yourself is a great track, the best he's done since Slim Shady LP in my opinion. The beat suits the mood of the film perfectly. I'd say 9 out of 10
Love Me with Obie and 50 is pretty good, this is the track that really opened my eyes to the fact that both Obie and 50 have potential to be good rappers. Eminem's good on the track as well, but this is Obie's moment.7 out of 10
8 Mile is another nice track, the beat again works well for the film, capturing the atmosphere. More good production from Eminem, his work on this album is far better than on The Eminem Show. The drum pattern mimicing a train track is a nice touch, also. I'd give it 8 out of 10
Adrenaline Rush by Obie Trice is an average song, the hook can get you jumping but overall it's a pretty dull song. 6 out of 10
Places To Go by 50 Cent is one of the few tracks he's done that I like...the beat is unusual and works well with his flow, the hook stands out as 50's usually do...decent track. 7 out of 10
Rap Game with D12 has a dull beat from Eminem, but the MCs make it work...Swift and Proof in particular have distinct enough voices and good enough mic skills to warrant their own solo albums. Eminem steals the show, as you'd expect, with an anti-government verse, including one of his best lines in years..."I'm all for America, fuck the government, tell that C. Delores Tucker slut to suck a dick"...great wordplay. It's a good track, I'd say 7 out of 10
8 Miles And Runnin' by Jay Z has another dull beat from Eminem, the problem I think being that all his beats sound similar...the beat is essentially the same as 8 Mile, with a few minor chord changes, which IMO make it a worse beat. Jay Z is as unspectacualr as ever, but then that's a personal thing, I don't rate him. This song irritates. 5 out of 10
Spitshine by Xzibit blows. I love Xzibit, but he needs ot go back to the rugged beats of 40 Dayz & 40 Nights...the more polished beats of Dre and others don't suit his voice at all. He rips the track up as you'd expect, but the beat destroys this song, it's awful...incredibly irritating computerised sounds in the background. 7 out of 10 for the lyrics, 3 out of 10 for the beats...5 out of 10
Time Of Your Life by Macy Gray is cool. Doesn't fit with the rest of the album, obviously, but it works relative to the movie. 6 out of 10
U Wanna Be Me by Nas is decent. The beat isn't great, too piano-heavy without variety. Nas performs to his usual high standard though, which saves the song. 6 out of 10
Wanksta by 50 Cent has a nice, unusual beat, and 50 comes good with a couple of decent verses and his customary catchy hook. 7 out of 10
Wasting My Time by Boomkat just plain RULES. Love the atmosphere on this song, and the imperfection in Boomkat's voice adds to the greatness song. It's very similar to Xavier Naidoo's "I've Never Seen", which can only be a good thing. Another beat which is perfect for the film. 8 out of 10
R.A.K.I.M. by...Rakim...is mediocre. . Seriously, it's sad to see one of the true greats of hip-hop accept such poor production and allow himself to produce such average lyrics just to get a bit of recognition off the biggest hip-hop movie ever. I mean, fair play to him for trying to get back on the map, but this just weakens his legacy, and makes newer rap fans thnk he sucks. Poor beat, average lyrics...6 out of 10
That's My Nigga Fo Real by Young Zee is cool. Eminem's been bumping YZ for years, with little reaction. He still hasn't gotten big at all, but this song does no harm to his reputation. 6 out of 10
Battle by Gang Starr is brilliance. Gang Starr took 2 years out, then came back in style with this...Premo's beat is as ill as ever, and Guru just rips the track incredibly...IMO this is the best he's been since Moment Of Truth. Like he says, 'I'm a whole lot older, and a whole lot wiser'...long may it continue. 9 out of 10
Rabbit Run by Eminem is pretty good. Huge respect for three minutes of straight flow with no hook, which is pretty rare nowadays. The beat is another generic, samey production, but the lyrics and flow are excellent. Some of his multis in this track are amazing, showing that when he fancies it, he can still be a great MC. Finishes off the album with a 7 out of 10
Altogether, I think this album has few standout tracks, with only Lose Yourself and Battle really top-notch tracks, but even the average tracks do their job and work well with their part of the movie. I'd give it 7 out of 10

I am still going with Immortal Technique's Revolutionary Volume 2 slightly over Bis' Rip the Jacker and Non-Prophets Hope for album of the year. Just because it so controversial and he is becoming the modern day Chuck D. And the fact that it is entirely badass from beginning to end. And it even contains a song that puts a tear to me eye.
And I am still considering Bazooka Tooth a slight disappointment. I love Ace Rock and he is still my 2nd favorite rapper but I was expecting another amazing album and I got a very weird album, even for his standards. I don't have a problem with the lyrics, never do, although he sounds more angry on this album, but the production just doesn't do it for me.
Super Fluke and 11:35 are the best tracks off of it. "Please don't feed the Bazooka Tooth, evolution super proof".

I'm an idiot because I ask why a general thread is sticky? No other discussion thread for any other genre is sticky. Notice how I brought it up the most civil way? It's a legitimate question.
I never bitched about the rap threads. Look back, I never once complained. So you can stop your misinformation this second.
I complained about multiple threads expressing the exact same topic, which infact is the precident of the forum. But I guess you're right, all those threads about TuPac returing after 7 years were completely different.
But it's great how you've managed to make a jump from this thread dropping to the bottom (it won't) and a plethora of exact same threads when it is infact you who'd be doing the job.
So writing a self fullfilling prophecy. Not the smartest tune to play.
And you should also stop with the attitute (name calling etc).

So you complained about multiple rap threads, which in your opinion were expressing the same topic, which, if you 'look back', were not infact expressing the exact same topic.
I could do the same and complain about all these rock threads that are clogging up the forum, but I dont, because at the end of the day I know that rock has a very diverse collection of styles, my ignorance would tell me that they're all exactly expressing the same thing, but I know they're not.
there are 2 rap threads on this forum currently open not including this one, I think this thread should be sticky, to prevent more rap threads being created and in turn keeping your whiney ass quiet, but obviously you feel the need to inject your views where there not needed as if it was some sort of reflex whenever you see 'rap' in a thread title.
But at the end of the day you're still here moaning in a rap thread, I dont care if you're moaing about rap or not, you're moaning in a rap thread, and if I look back you have moaned in rap threads numerous times, and why should you care if this thread is sticky or not, if it wasnt, think of the threads that would start appearing once again and strike a nerve with you and others, end of the day you're not mod of this forum so get over it.

Outlaw, stop trying to cause trouble. Suno, stop reacting.
And Suno hit the nail on the head, this thread is sticky to prevent new rap threads coming up all the time.

I hate this bastard Ja Rule song, ripping off an 80's beat is bad enough, but stealing one that has ALREADY BEEN USED BRILLIANTLY BY A SUPERIOR ARTIST (Xzibit) just makes it even more annoying. And I bet Ja Rule has never mixed cocaine and gin in his life, the little Cookie Monster fuck

I take it you're referring to "Murder Reign" and "Heart of Man"? Thats one of my favorite Xzibit songs and I was pissed to see Ja re-re-make it a few months later

Im waiting for the album to drop to hear it actually im really pumped there have been mixed reviews but the majority I would say 70% are giving it atleast 4 mics 20% are saying 4.5 or 5 mics.
I posted the RNS link but I think its down. The album has been moved up.
As we've experienced in the past, rampant piracy has forced us to advance a street date; this time on Jay Z "The Black Album". Our interests lie solely in protecting our artist, our business and that of our retailer partners.
The official street date on Jay Z "The Black Album" is now Friday, November 14, 2003.
In order for us to expedite orders and complete manufacturing accordingly, ALL ORDERS ARE DUE IMMEDIATELY. You already have your solicitation material on the release as available in the 11/25 book. Jay Z has sold over 18 million albums worldwide and your account's inventory decision should be done swift if not made already.
A few points you may need to address:
· We expect to have in excess of 800K units available for delivery by street date. Should orders exceed that amount, a fair and equitable allocation process will be used should it become necessary
· We will be receiving product everyday and will distribute it as necessary to cover all for the new street date
· We will address early ship customers to ensure product is to them in a timely manner. As we are addressing these customers' needs, IDJ will not re-reimburse for any associated overnight costs the accounts may incur in getting the product to the end user.

Well I'll be picking it up when it comes out, anyway...no downloading for me, I have enough confidence in the album that I don't need to try it first.
Also, I've fallen in love with this new Keith Murray song, 'Candi Bar'...the hook is just...weird, but great :D
I liked the last single as well, anyone know whether the album's any good?

I heard the album was not that good, that Candi Bar single is a direct rip off from the Rascalz they suck tough.

At least the guy's talking about music, as stupid as the way he types may be.Posting what is essentially the same comment over and over again is only going to turn more people away from this forum. How he's typing isn't what I'm pointing out, it's the fact that he's repeating himself about how great this album is supposed to be.

On a different note, I heard most of the new 2pac album, Resurrection, today...yet another disappointment. At least albums like Better Dayz and Until The End Of Time, while not being the classics he released before his death, were still good CDs...the Nu Mixx Klassics album and now this have been total crap. The only decent tracks on the new album are Runnin', the lead single which I'm sure everyone's heard, and Ghost...and I don't even know how new that is, I recognised a lot of tracks off this album from Pac's older albums.
So yeah...yet another tear in 2pac's legacy.

Just got a promo copy of Cheers and am listening to it for the first time.
I have to say, thus far I'm the opposite of impressed. I'm already really tired of it and Em's production got old after the first song.
And "Got Some Teeth" is weaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak.
(PS - I don't care that nobody has talked about Obie in like 4 weeks)
Simon
November 5th, 2003, 6:58 PM
I don't like the album either, the production is Eminem's usual, every song sounds pretty similar. Obie's got skills but he's not suited to Em's production...I liked Got Some Teeth though. I fucking hate that 'Lady' song...most irritating hook EVER.

I noticed your MSN name the other day, I thought you might like it
I friggin' love that song, easily the best song on the album although there are a couple of other nice tracks like "Oh My Goodness" and "Yeah Yeah U Know It" they're both pretty good party tracks, but he has a song called Christina which is about his earlier years and his sister basically. Not bad, I got the album in the Summer and I've listened to "Candi Bar" more than any other song.
Is it being released or being shown on music tv? If it is then great, it's so f'n catchy.
