Well done sir.
Shytty Shyne is still in it.
I made a Shyt Free version though. I also included the intro and took out that stupid hear-it-first tag.
Shyne started talking as Nas finishes his verse though so it stops at "we ain't really got time to respond" and then Busta's verse starts. :$

Is there any way you could maybe do the exact same thing Bert, but go ahead and leave Shyne in? I know I initially said someone should take Shyne out, but I'd just rather have all the verses/lyrics on the copy I keep. Thanks either way.

Nardwuar's great. I went through a phase earlier this year where I would get high and watch like 20 of his interviews at a time. I love the Nas one. Nard's enthusiasm and work ethic is second to none, and it's a shame he isn't more well known/respected in the US because he is really one of the greatest music journalists of all time. The man is a genius.
Nardwuar vs. Nas - The Extended Version - YouTube
Speaking of Nas, he absolutely devours and proceeds to shit out that Carter 4 Outro. Even with capable guys like Bun B and Busta on the track, the difference in ability is glaring. I've played that verse back so many times.

Louisiana native and certified Gold recording artist, Young Bleed, returns to the scene with his latest album PRESERVED. Picking up where My Balls & My Word left off, PRESERVED is Young Bleed’s first album under the Strange Music umbrella and the first release on the highly-anticipated Strange Lane imprint.
First introduced to the rap world via Master P’s Platinum-selling soundtrack, I’m Bout It, Young Bleed returns with PRESERVED. With tracks like “How Ya Do Dat” and “Boot Up”, PRESERVED is on track to redefine Southern Hip Hop – features like Strange Music artists Tech N9ne and Brotha Lynch Hung, along with fellow Louisiana native, Juvenile, stand as a testament to how diverse Young Bleed can be without straying too far from his roots.
Young Bleed makes a statement with an album that’s meant to be PRESERVED.

I'd go as far to say that them 4 labels and their sub-labels are the most successful independent labels in the US. Probably the world.

The artist formerly known as Mos Def:
In an interview with MTV this past weekend at Rock The Bells, the rapper announced that he is retiring the "Mos Def" moniker at the end of this year. And in 2012, he will henceforth be known as Yasiin, which is apparently his first name.
Yasiin explained that he'll no longer be using Mos Def because even though he's "done quite a bit" with that name, he feels that "it's time to expand and move on." He also doesn't want to have to deal with using a "moniker" anymore, which could be a sign of maturity on his part as an artist. It certainly makes sense and it'll be interesting to see if it sticks.
How about another Black Star album Yasiin?

With his hip-hop act Childish Gambino, Donald Glover – best known for his role as Troy on NBC's hit comedy Community – is giving his acting career a run for its money. He's just signed a deal with indie label Glassnote, home to Mumford & Sons and Phoenix, and is getting ready to release his debut album, Camp (tentatively set for November 1st).
Glover probably also scored some points with one track in particular that gives a shout out to Mumford & Sons. "I definitely reference them in this one song," he says. "We all know each other, it’s kind of cool. It’s like a family."
But, I want it now.
Also, I love Mumford & Sons.

I doubt it is true, it could be Bis trolling lol. But the last I heard him talking about it, all of the recordings were finished and he was just waiting on some production. It could release this month if he doesn't care about record sales. I'd say next spring might be a better estimate.
I would love to see Stoupe production on there, but he is shifting away from hip hop. But there is also a thought that he has plenty of material in his vault that he could send Canibus' way if he is in a giving mood. Somehow I doubt that will happen though.
Also, how do you call it a Jedi Mind Tricks album without Stoupe?

October 4th, 2011, 5:29 AM
Torrents are only good if you know what you're looking for. The best sites are the ones that not only have all the new CDs you're waiting for but other stuff you didn't know about.
Javed's R&B is good for individual tracks via Hulkshare (don't be fooled by the title, it has hip-hop, dancehall, grime, desi and other types of music as well as R&B).

Not random albums. For example if you have a specific site you go to that hosts hip-hop albums and of the first ten albums, you know and like eight and don't the other two, chances are you might like them as well.

October 4th, 2011, 1:34 PM
Yeah, Simon's pretty much right about the Torrents. I loved these forums because let's be honest, it's hard to keep track of what every artist is doing. Often times things would pop up that I'd be really interested in and didn't even know were coming out. That's kind of the beauty of leaks, I guess. Also most of the good sites are updated so regularly, you can get the albums literally as soon as they hit.
Thanks for the links guys. I actually have a studioleaks account, I signed up back when that guy was leaking all the Eminem songs and there wasn't a post limit then. But I never really posted, ha. Guess I'll have to bullshit on there for a bit.

I totally get what Simon's saying. I do the same.
If I go to a site that regularly has the kind of music I like, chances are that the stuff I've never heard of will be similar to my taste in music as well. So I usually download the stuff I've never heard of. Its no different to walking into a sportsware shop and picking up something new that you liked and hadnt seen before. Its not what you came in for but its not random either. You were just exposed to it this way, and you bought it.

Well because its so much quicker to download a zip file with the whole album and then listen to the whole thing quickly to see whether you like it. If you dont, you just delete it. But on the other hand, you have to search each individual track on YouTube and you wont always find everything.
But besides that, you're downloading from a site that pretty much has a track record of delivering the kind of music you like, so you'd be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. Which is why downloading the whole album doesnt seem like such a waste of time.

With rumors of a reunion LP continually popping up online, fans have been fever pitch for Mos Def and Talib Kwel to join forces on a full project for the first time in over a decade. Now, it looks like that Black Star may be one step closer to that reunion album, as the Brooklyn duo will be hitting "The Colbert Report" with a new song.
On Wednesday October 5, Mos Def and Talib Kweli will debut a new song titled "Fix Up" on Comedy Central hit show "The Colbert Report," in addition to performing their 1998 classic "Astronomy (8th Light)." This performance will mark Kweli's second appearance on the program in 2011.

I'm liking this. I'm really looking forward to Welcome To Strangeland.

2011 BET CYPHER #1 ( MACHINE GUN KELLY, B.O.B, TECH N9NE, KENDRICK LAMAR, BIG K.R.I.T)
Not really a fan of Machine Gun Kelly but everyone else was pretty good. Really great to see Tech.
2011 BET CYPHER #2 (BUSTA RHYMES, LUDACRIS, REEK DA VILLIAN, 2 CHAINZ)
Busta killed it and made that shit look easy. Luda seems kind of rusty to me.
2011 BET CYPHER #3 ( BLIND FURY, DOM KENNEDY, LADY OF RAGE, SKILLZ)
It was cool to see Blind Fury in something after hearing him on Tech's album.
2011 BET CYPHER #4 MMG (RICK ROSS, MEEK MILL, WALE, PILL, STALLEY)
Wale was good. That guy Stalley's beard almost looks fake.
2011 BET CYPHER #5 (ESTELLE, NITTY SCOTT, LACRAE, SOPRANO)
I've only ever heard of Estelle. That Lacrae guy was ok.
2011 BET CYPHER SHADY #6 (EMINEM, JOE BUDDEN, ROYCE DA 5 9, YELAWOLF, JOELL ORTIZ, CROOKED I
Em's another rapper who makes shit look easy. When he kept going with that verse about Johnsons and boobs Joell's face was hilarious.

Lads can anyone help me with this, it's doing my head again.
A 90s hip-hop track by a not particularly well known artist/group. It has a similar drum sound to Dead Wrong by Biggie/Eminem, with a sort of off-beat Chinese sounding instrument playing. It's very sparse and I *think* part of the lyric goes "Here I go again, and here I flow again" or something similar. It's driving me mental!

10/10 Classic
Infamous is better although let down by Havoc using the same drum loop on every track. There are about five stone cold classic tracks - Shook Ones, The Start Of Your Ending, Give Up The Goods, Survival Of The Fittest and Eye For An Eye. Definitely one of the strongest debut albums of all time, unfairly ignored in comparison to Reasonable Doubt, Illmatic, Ready To Die etc.
Hell On Earth is a great album as well but I don't think it quite has the same number of unforgettable moments - Hell On Earth and Drop A Gem On Em are the only ones that are on the same level IMO.
I remember buying The Infamous after work when I was about 17, listening to it all night and then going out the next morning to buy Hell On Earth and Murda Muzik :D

Bro.. Extortion, GOD Pt III, Can't Get Enough of It, Animal Instinct... Hell on Earth has some monster tracks. I just think it plays through better as a full album. Hav and P were in war mode then, with all the Pac/West Coast stuff going on..

Oh I'm not saying it's not good, I just LOVE The Infamous. Shook Ones is the obvious superstar track but Give Up The Goods and The Start Of Your Ending are even better IMO. Shame they got gradually worse to the point of being irrelevant. The last good track they released was fucking Quiet Storm. The only decent thing they've done since then is hand over the beat for Got It Twisted for Eminem to absolutely destroy on the Westwood show.

Wish I had the time and energy to look up the mug shot from like 1999 when ICP, Twiztid, and Psycho Realm (B-Real's side project) were arrested after a fight broke out at an IHOP. Madrox was fat as fuck and looked about 30 years younger lol. The problem with Madrox is that he is supposed to be a big dude. I hope that wasn't ghostwritten by Ludacris.
"Justin Bieber even asked if he could do the cypher. Everybody was worried that it might mess up the integrity of BET but I was like, 'Long as he got a dope rhyme, let him spit.' But, then we heard, 'He wants Luda to write his rhyme.' I was like, 'Oh, no, no, no, no, no.' If you ain't writing your own rhyme, you can't do it.
Of course then Luda tried to say that it wasn't true, but it's more believable that it is.

it's beyond worth it. all the songs from watch the throne are great plus you get a bunch of the solo hits mixed in. then you factor in the visuals, which are amazing. it's just the tightest show i've ever seen, on any scale.

It Ain't Hard To Tell as well surely.
I'd be well up for a best hip-hop track poll and could come up with about 100 candidates straight away. Maybe if everyone sends in a list of their favourite 20 or so and the most popular 50 or so that get sent to you can be voted on.
Ringo
November 5th, 2011, 9:00 AM
yeah or just have people send lists of 25-100 (with plenty of time to get it done) and then do a list based on points. Prefer that to separate polls with JUICY VS KEEP YA HEAD UP or whatever.
It Ain't Hard To Tell amazing

The same thing happened with Tyler The Creator's Goblin and loads more albums I'm sure.
I'm way more excited for Camp to leak but Take Care will probably leak first just because of his massive fanbase.
I like Drake though, I didn't used to besides a few songs but he gets played at my work over and over so he's grew on me.

I actually like Drake, dude is definitely talented, but Thank Me Later felt really shallow and directionless as an album. He can make hot songs and verses but I'm not sure he has anything interesting enough to say to make a great album. It's all the same braggadocio content. But we shall see.
