That Madvillainy Remix has some good stuff. "Can't Reform 'Em", "Butter King Jewels", "3.214" especially. Mostly just reminds me of how epic the original was.

SAT I listened to the Noyz album, it's dope. "Goin' Down" and "Get Up" are exactly the kind of sound I really enjoy right now. Who was rapping over the "Kick, Push" beat at the end there?

Thanks for listening! That was me rapping at the end. Left the hosts a little speechless there.

Sorry but if you think you have more talent than Chris Brown then you don't know what you're talking about. Chris Brown is one of the most talented RnB artists in the world right now. Just cuz he doesnt please your hip hop taste, it doesnt mean he's shit. The track was clearly aimed at an RnB audience and from that perspective, it's a decent track. I agree that it does seem out of place in the album but blaming that on Chris Brown is stupid.

Why is there a song on a political/serious/no nonsense album that's aimed at an R&B audience? And no, it actually isn't. It's blatantly a club song.

How is Chris Brown talented? Explain it to me, then I'll consider taking you seriously. Until then you're just spouting out your opinion as if it were fact. "Chris Brown is one of the most talented RnB artists in the world right now" is one of the funniest things I have ever read on this message board, granted I've only been here 4 years, it's still hilarious. If you think Chris Brown is one of the most talented R&B artists from anywhere besides the room he is staying in, you're stuck on pop music and in denial. Simple and plain. I don't keep up with much modern R&B (because most of it sucks worse than Chris Brown), but I can easily name 15-20 artists that blow him out of the water. It has nothing to do with him "pleasing my hip-hop taste". You are really weird, RuneEdge.

Damn SAT, I forgot all about your rhyme over Kick, Push. That makes certain things even more interesting....

Good god, this is just as bad or worse...

I like catchy shit like that though. I've been on turned off to everything that usually comes out that I can't really just spit on a R&B laced Nas cut. I know dudes see Brown as a joke but the kid is really into his performances and shit. He went wild at one of those shows.

What do you mean by you "can't really just spit on a R&B laced Nas cut"? Are you a rapper in disguise? Chris Brown went wild?? Wow, that must have been amazing. Nick Cannon did that years ago and he will always suck. The kid is really into his performances, and shit? How many concerts have you seen? Obviously not many at all...

As silly as it sounds, I've decided to take my (somewhat) decent writing abilities to the next level and record some music. Our very own SAT made this beat, "Get Up"... thank you SAT!!!

Chris Brown is certainly talented. It is without a doubt down to your 'hip-hop taste' or, more specifically, the fact that the emphasis you place on your own credibility won't allow you to like a mainstream R&B act like Chris Brown. He's not amazing or anything, and he's certainly not original, but he's got a good voice and most of his singles are decent pop songs.

Matthew

I agree with Simon. And the dude does put on a hell of a show, like him or not. Who cares if he plays towards the the teenage girls? It's still a good show. I don't see why the hate.

First of all, like I've already said, I'm not denying that the track didnt belong on the album. But blaming that on Chris Brown is stupid. You should be blaming whoever it was that decided to put the song in the tracklist, whether thats Nas himself or the label pressuring him to include another RnB track to boost sales. If the track was on L.A.X. or Chris Browns album then no one would have a problem (except you cuz you're not "stuck on" pop music). And no, its not blatantly a club song. How the hell do you play that in the club? "Hero" is more of a club song and even that wouldnt get many plays.
Secondly, I'm not even gonna bother defending his talent. Its there for everyone to see and hear. And the fact that he writes his own lyrics gives him the edge over more than half the other RnB artists who use ghost writers and writing teams. But I'd love to see that list of 20 modern RnB artists that are better than him.

Stick to talking about hip hop cuz you dont have a clue about anything else.

I don't know who Chris Brown is, but the term "R&B" seems to mean something completely different now than it did 30 years ago. And the definitions of words are constantly changing, so we should probably just roll with the punches and admit that, while Usher is no Bill Withers or Marvin Gaye, he's still a R&B artist, and a good one too. I mean, Green Day is a good rock band, that doesn't take anything away from the Beatles.

I'd also like to see this list of 20 who are better than him. For my money the only person currently doing Chris Brown's thing better than Chris Brown is Usher. Maybe Anthony Hamilton.

Seriously now, Chris Brown grew up an hour from my house, I know a few people that went to school with him. He is a talentless hack that writes little to none of his music (regardless of what you might hear or read). He can dance, cool. Ne-Yo can dance better, so can every B-Boy in the history of hip-hop. He puts on a good performance? I would never pay money to see this guy. Like I said, I know a few people who knew him personally, he's a little chump with a stylist that picks out his entire wardrobe. The kid is a joke like PCP smoke.

Better current R&B singers include, but are not limited to....

Ne-Yo
Robin Thicke
John Legend
Chrisette Michelle
Usher (uhh.. hello?)
R. Kelly

Luther Vandross. Good choice that.

That just reminded me of the time I first heard "Sweet Sugar Pie" by ODB, and how I burst out laughing on the bus when he randomly yells out Luther's name.

Right now, I'm on the Blue Sky Black Death song "Engage my Words" with Jus Allah and Sabac. The beat is sick, and the MC's attack it something fierce.

Jus: "Each line meditates so deep its a trance/
If I told you to hang yourself, you'd leap at the chance/
When you hear Jus Allah, its not a reason to dance/
What you see is enhanced, what you believe in expands/"

Sabac: "My knowledge escalates like suicide rates around the holidays"

Here's all I have to say...........

The Game has the album of the year. Yup. It's better than the Nas album. Quote me on that. The song with Nas is 10000000000x better than "Make The World Go Round". Good god, The Game has improved somehow. Instead of being an ignorant rapper with constant name drops, he's now a true QUALITY EMCEE. Over quality beats as always. This album is AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING. AMAZING.

Also, on the topic of R&B singers and Chris Brown....

Chris Brown is not on The Game's album. Do you know who is? Three R&B singers who just happened to be on that little list I wrote. Ne-Yo, Raheem DeVaugn, and Chrisette Michelle. So yeah... yeah...........

Short version: Stringer posted pics in the asylum and got ripped to shreds because he put a gun in his mouth, held a knife to his neck, and had a tattoo that looked ridiculous. Then he told a story about how he got mugged selling drugs on his own front porch. After being ripped apart for that, he claimed that it was all a work to show how stupid everyone is here. He antagonized people outside of the asylum and got a 3 day, I believe. When he came back he continued his meltdown in the pic thread and started to 'pimp' his own hip hop shit. When he was warned that advertising is not allowed he went off the deepend and spammed several threads with the links in an obnoxious manner. His sig asked to be banned, and I believe he now is indefinitely.

God, and that's the SHORT version. Think I hit all the pertinent points though.

Edit: By the way, I've really liked both of TI's singles from Paper Trail. "Whatever You Like" is obviously about as mainstream as a song can get, but it's catchy as hell, and not in annoying way. Kind of reminds me of a Blueprint-era Jay single.

BuckMarley has always been somewhat of a douchebag. I personally never cared about his stupid hip hop show pictures or his crappy Weathermen tattoo. He comes off as a bit of a Stan. Glad he kicked the Rajah bucket.

On topic, I wish I still had a desire to check out new hip hop that slips by the cracks. It's more that I just don't have the time. Haven't really been immersed in the underground of hip hop for about 18 months now so I am fairly clueless to what's been going on.

I'll always get a hold of stuff from my favorite artists but getting any new stuff that I have no knowledge of doesn't really happen anymore.

Do love the Nas album though and I have Buck 65's stuff that came out a few months back on heavy rotation. Of course I am also looking forward to the new album coming out by CANIBUS and I plan on buying the Prolyphic/Reanimator album fairly soon.

Well yeah those pictures were dumb "hey guys look at me chillin with Ill Bill WOOO" but I always overlooked them because he uploaded so many albums. Like constantly. This thread has saved me so much time and money trying to track down hip-hop leaks and whatnot, and buckmarley was a huge part of that. I'm pretty annoyed that he went off the deep end. I even sent him a pm last month to say "dude, you're acting like a fuckup, knock it off", but he didn't knock it off at all.

Right now I'm really digging the Madvillain remixes, "Sly Fox", and I somehow randomly came across the promo mixtape for "Blazing Arrow" that J Rocc made for Blackalicious. It's got some new beats, new rhymes, different verses over classics like "Swan Lake", it's pretty good. Between that, the Beat Junkies, and those Dilla tribute mixes that he did a couple years ago, J Rocc is officially on my watch list.

I really love weirdos like Prefuse 73, but it's tough to actually rap over beats that elaborate. I remember thinking that his track with Aesop Rock and MF Doom would destroy the world, but then it turned out to be kind of boring.

I think there's something to be said for keeping a beat predictable. One thing I learned from playing drums in bands was how important a fill is - not as a way to show off, but as a signal to the listener (and often the rest of the band) that something new is about to happen.

I agree. I remember, I think it was Hack, a couple years ago, before The Outsider came out, asking why DJ Shadow doesn't collaborate with more big name MCs. Well. Can you imagine Jay-Z trying to rap over "What Does Your Soul Look Like (Part 4)"... It's too much. I imagine that Shadow could do standard rap songs pretty easily (see "Halfway Home" by Blackalicious), but would he really have any desire to do so? I think most rappers would rather collab with Just Blaze or Kanye instead of trying to figure out what the fuck to say over a DJ Shadow beat.

And yeah, it's not just Prefuse 73. The instrumental of "Saliva" (Doom and RJD2) is frankly better than the original.

Anybody check out the new Royce, and Muggs vs Planet Asia? After a quick run through, Bar Exam 2 is more of the same sharp rhymes from Royce, but the beat selection is weaker compared to the first mixtape. Pain Language, on the other hand, is awesome in terms of both beats and rhymes. Muggs delivers again, and Asia steps his game up when working with the legend.

Black Milk dropped a free instrumental album recently. I shall return with the download link shortly.

Cadence Weapon's Breaking Kayfabe was a favourite of mine when it came out, but after a few listens to his new one - Afterparty Babies, I sort of dismissed it. Wasn't really doing anything for me. However, by chance I heard Real Estate the other day and thought "cor blimey, this is bloody good!", and as a result I gave the album another listen. I'm really liking it, although it is definitely no BK.

DJ Khaled and Nelly's albums are out (atleast online). Khaled's album isn't as good as his last IMO. Nothing really stands out from it. I kinda like Brass Knuckles though.

DJ Khaled's album is garbage and so is Nelly's. The only decent track on Khaled's album is, "She's Fine" with Sean Paul, Missy Elliott, and Busta Rhymes. Sean Paul's vocals on the hook gets kinda annoying, but it's definetely good enough for top 10 radio play and the clubs.

Nelly's song with T.I. and LL Cool J is disappointing. When you see two names like that featured on a track together you expect alot more. The only other track worth even talking about is "Long Night" with Usher and that's only because of Usher and the great production J. Lac. Nelly flow on the track is atrocious. It doesn't even go with the mood of the track. It's a slow, mellow joint and he's on it yelling through the entire duration. Pretty disappointing, because, otherwise, it would be a great track. "Let It Go Lil' Mama", to me, is the only really solid track on his album. Solid club/radio track, that's it.

On a side note, I have to admit that I'm starting to like that new E-40 song with Akon, "Wake It Up". Yeah, E-40's flow is horrific, but Akon's vocals and a really well produced instrumental help to save the song. I am a sucker for slow grooving hip-hop/rap tracks when they are done right and that one was done right enough, I think. Not looking forward to E-40's album though.

So I recorded a song. The quality isnt the greatest as I did this in my bedroom, on a 10+ year old mic, at 6:30 in the morning, while being doped up on allergy medication, but its the basic gist of what the song will sound like. I will eventually be re-recording it, but I did this just to get some feedback from people. I talk about the political situation in India in 1984, the tensions between Sikhs and Hindus, and assassination of Indira Gandhi, and the subsequent street riots and hate crimes.

E-40 has some pretty good music. You shouldn't have to admit to liking him. There are few people that make beats as good as he does, consistantly. His flow is a little weird, but you get used to it. If you're really a sucker for 'slow grooving hip-hop/rap tracks when they are done right' you would love most of E-40's stuff. He makes great beats. Probably the main reason he's stayed around for so long.

I like "Country Grammar". Still think that's his best song. "Flap Your Wings" is a classic club joint to me and still bangs even today. Also like a couple of other songs off of the Sweat/Suit album. The one with Missy Elliott and Mobb Deep, "Playa" and the one where he samples the NBA on NBC theme, "Heart Of A Champion" is nice. Also like "'N Dey Say".

And how could I forget "Dilemma" with Kelly Rowland. Classic love-sap hip-hop right there with an amazing beat.

Ugh. As good as a number of the songs on The Cool were (and "Hip Hop Saved My Life" is one of my favorite rap songs ever), I thought it could have been shortened. And how many times do we say the same thing about double albums? Too much filler, would have been better as a single. Releasing 3 discs at once sounds like an awful idea.

The article below, from http://newsroom.mtv.com/2008/10/22/guns-n-roses-bring-a-free-dr-pepper-to-all-americans-heres-how-to-get-yours/ , highlights how to get your free doctor pepper

--------------------------

"So, how does Dr Pepper plan on dispensing the free sodas? Well, on November 23 — and only on November 23 — thirsty Americans can log on to the official Dr Pepper Web site and register all of their vitals, so that the company can mail them a coupon for a free 20-ounce can of the drink. Once that coupon arrives in the mail, redeem it wherever Dr Pepper is sold. The last step in the process, according to the press release: “Drink your Dr Pepper slowly to experience all 23 flavors. Dr’s orders.”

As we said, registration for the free Dr Pepper coupons is available only for 24 hours, beginning at 12:01 a.m. ET on November 23, and the coupons will have an expiration date of February 28, 2009. Obviously, there is a coupon limit — one per person."

Stuff White People Like #116: Black Music That Black People Don't Listen To Anymore

All music genres go through a very similar life cycle: birth, growth, mainstream acceptance, decline, and finally obscurity. With black music, however, the final stage is never reached because white people are work tirelessly to keep it alive. Apparently, once a music has lost its relevance with its intended audience, it becomes MORE relevant to white people.

Historically speaking, the music that white people have kept on life support for the longest period of time is Jazz. Thanks largely to public radio, bookstores, and coffee shops, Jazz has carved out a niche in white culture that is not yet ready to be replaced by Indie Rock. But the biggest role that Jazz plays in white culture is in the white fantasy of leisure. All white people believe that they prefer listening to jazz over watching television. This is not true.

Every few a months, a white person will put on some Jazz and pour themselves a glass of wine or scotch and tell themselves how nice it is. Then they will get bored and watch television or write emails to other white people about how nice it was to listen to Jazz at home. “Last night, I poured myself a glass of Shiraz and put Charlie Parker on the Bose. It was so relaxing, I wish I had a fireplace.” Listing this activity as one of your favorites is a sure fire way to make progress towards a romantic relationship with a white person.

Along with Jazz, white people have also taken quite a shine to The Blues, an art form that captured the pain of the black experience in America. Then, in the 1960s, a bunch of British bands started to play their own version of the music and white people have been loving it ever since. It makes sense considering that the British were the ones who created The Blues in the 17th Century.

Today, white people keep The Blues going strong by taking vacations to Memphis, forming awkward bands, making documentaries, and organizing folk festivals. Blue and Jazz music appeal mostly to older white people and select few young ones who probably wear fedoras. But that doesn’t mean that young white people aren’t working hard to preserve music that has lost relevance. No, there are literally thousands of white people who are giving their all to keep old school Hip Hop alive.

Even as you read this, white people are telling other white people about the golden age of Hip Hop that they experienced in a suburban high school or through a viewing of The Wackness.

If you are good at concealing laughter and contempt, you should ask a white person about “Real Hip Hop.” They will quickly tell you about how they don’t listen to “Commercial Hip Hop” (aka music that black people actually enjoy), and that they much prefer “Classic Hip Hop.”

“I don’t listen to that commercial stuff. I’m more into the Real Hip Hop, you know? KRS One, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, De La Soul, Wu Tang, you know, The Old School.”

Calling this style of music ‘old school’ is considered an especially apt name since the majority of people who listen to it did so while attending old schools such as Dartmouth, Bard, and Williams College.

What it all comes down to is that white people are convinced that if they were alive when this music was relevant that they would have been into it. They would have been Alan Lomax or Rick Rubin. Now the best they can hope for is to impress an older black person with their knowledge.

hahaha

I love 808s. Kanye is actually more suited as a pop-hip-hop producer than an honest to goodness rap/hip-hop producer, I think. None of the songs will immediately grab you, but man, after a few listens, that album is a grower. I like some of his work with Common (though the best track on the last album was done by Dilla) and he's definitely a good producer, but he shines more when doing the radio friendly stuff.

Glad you came around Ringo. It really is a solid album. After listening to 808s, I'll be doing other stuff and I'll have 5 or 6 different songs from it stuck in my head at once. Everything but "Coldest Winter" has something super catchy about it. I think "Amazing" and "Paranoid" are my favorites. And I really dig the Wayne track, even though every review I've read specifically pointed out that it sucks. Bitches are crazy.

I think we really do have to start considering Kanye one of the absolute best producers of all time. 4 great albums (I would call Late Registration his worst, and that is still PRETTY DAMN GOOD) and dozens and dozens of tracks for other people ... not bad for a guy who nobody had really heard of until Jay-Z's Blueprint came out on 9/11.

It would've been a great album had it been released about four or five years ago. As great of an MC and lyricist as he is, sonically, he can't keep up with the more experimental mainstream stuff that guys like Kanye, Lupe, and even Wayne are doing. It sounds dated.

That's why Jay-Z is much more successful. Nas is better, and Nas bested him in 2001, but Jay's has been consistent in keeping with the zeitgeist. Nas hasn't, and it makes his music less interesting in comparison.

I would have to disagree completely, man. The zeitgeist says lil wayne and young jeeezy and 50 cent are good rappers, which is dumb. If Nas wants to sample Nat King Cole and Iron Butterfly and Jay-Z wants to sample Linkin Park, give me Nas, any day of the week.

You say Nas bested Jay in 2001. What have they done since?

Jay-Z:
The Blueprint -- Hands down classic
The Blueprint 2 -- pretty good pop album, nothing to write home about
The Best of Both Worlds w/ R. Kelly - And here my troubles began
Unfinished Business w/ R. Kelly - Well, at least he didnt urinate one any 12 year olds, eh?
The Black Album -- Greatness, although I have to wonder how much of that was this album and how much was Dangermouse. For example, the original beat of "Dirt off your Shoulders" was pathetic. It became a good song because of a mashup.
Collision Course - With Linkin Park. Ha. How the mighty have fallen.
Kingdom Come - Worst Jay-Z album ever? Not a single memorable track.
American Gangster - Phenomenal, Jay at his best, I think. A comeback from the brink of despair (aka endless R. Kelly/Linkin Park cross-promotion tours, what a personal hell that might have been)

Nas:
Stillmatic - His second-best album ever.
God's Son - I actually like this album. No one else does (already had this argument with Hack) but I think if you ignore certain tracks, it paints a picture of the impact that his mother's death had on him.
Street's Disciple - Two discs that are totally irrelevant. Why two discs to say nothing? Who knows.
Hip-Hop is Dead - The Nas renaissance. This is the work of a man who went to hell and back and wrote down his thought about the journey.
Untitled - Maybe if he had been able to call this album NIGGER and include some of the censored tracks off the mixtape, it would have been good. "Sly Fox" is still probably better than anything Jay-Z has written in years but the album as a whole was sub-par.

I'm curious what others have to say about this. To me, Nas is the best rapper ever, ever. He's done some bad albums, but no one has stepped up to make me think they're better than Nas (not counting biggie). I like Jay-Z. I just think Nas is better, in many ways, not the least of which is that I can't picture Nas doing albums with Linkin Park and Beyonce and R. Kelly. In that sense, Billmatic is 100% right, Nas does not ride the wave of the zeitgeist, but let me specify that when I listen to rap I want to hear something that will last even after the current zeitgeist is dead and buried.

Ringo

Yo TRO. Check out that Omar Saar album I posted a few pages up. I can see it being your sort of thing.

As for the Jay/Nas debate, it would surely be said that Jay has experimented more in the last few years, doing albums with Linkin Park (an album I actually quite enjoyed) and R. Kelly, as well as exploring different styles. Nas has been the more consistent though. There's a reason people were expecting better out of Nigger. If he had been as stagnant as Bill says, people wouldn't have had such high hopes.

Basically what I'm saying is that In a post-Kanye/Just Blaze/Dilla, etc. world, producers can do anything they can do anywhere else in a hip-hop song, and Nas' albums don't reflect that.

Jay-Z has always had the sense to be experimental sonically. That's why the Blueprint worked so well. Now, I would take Stillmatic over The Blueprint (most would disagree) but the same problem still irks Nas. With the exception of Hero, and Sly Fox, and (by definition) Black President, most of the songs on Untitled would not appear out of place on a Nas album from 2001-2002. Hip-Hop Is Dead was much better in that regard, though lyrically it doesn't touch Untitled.

and as far as Nas not 'riding the wave' of the zeitgeist goes, I'm not saying Nas needs to sing with autotune or anything, just that production-wise, it might help to beef his beats up a bit, experiment a bit, and branch out, because the best songs on Untitled are the ones that do that.

I don't really know if I can rate Untitled above 808s And Heartbreak, A Kid Named Cudi, or even The Mixtape About Nothing. I mean, I'm a total Nas stan, but I'd basically sum up Untitled by saying that it hits the mark lyrically and conceptually (I still like that such a heavy topic doesn't become tedious), but misses the mark on the more superficial stuff, which matters in hip-hop. Naw mean?

Adamy

Also, I would have to say It Was Written > Stillmatic. Nothing against the latter, which is great, but "I Gave You Power" and "If I Ruled the World" are my two favorite Nas songs ever, and furthermore two of my favorite rap songs. It really doesn't get better than that.

You know what's awesome? Bun-B's II Trill. I've only just got around to listening to it properly and it's fucking great. I've always been a bit prejudiced towards Southern Hip-Hop, because there is so much shit to wade through, but UGK were masters, and this album, after Pimp C's death, just has a whole different dimension to it. It's actually a bit emotional... :(

Also LUPE and WAYNE and my hero DAVID BANNER are featured.

Completely skipped that album cuz a lot of other stuff was leaked around the same time. Might go back and check it out if you reckon its worth it.

I'm still not quite decided on this Kanye album, but it's definitely growing on me. Some of the songs are way too repetitive and can drag on forever. It's a bit short at only 12 songs, the last of which is the live track that I don't really care for. The lyrics are very simple and at some points ridiculous, but also very catchy. I've had a few songs (most notably Love Lockdown and Robocop) stuck in my head for days.

I definitely like it, but don't think I'll ever come to love it because there's really not a whole lot of substance.

Agree on West's new joint. At first it was mostly average, but after a few days, it's grown on me. It starts of strong, kind of goes downhill after Love Lockdown, then makes it up by Street Lights.

I love it now. Can't believe it.

The whole record is great, and I believe that it IS a genuinely good album.

Apparently Common has a new album coming out, with most of the production being done by the Neptunes.

My thoughts on Common are a bit conflicted. I have seen him perform live once and he was really bad, he is an awful actor, and in general I have a strong distaste for his style and public persona. But his albums are very enjoyable.

I'm quite enjoying Kanye West's new album, its something different with him going for the singing angle instead of straight hip hop/rap.

Maybe not as good as his old stuff (E.G Late Registration), but it is very likable and is growing on me.

Liking Robocop and Paranoid.

What do people think of Weezy's bit in this? I personally didnt even realise that was him singing until I heard it again the second time. He comes in at around 2:21.

New Afro Samurai season and soundtrack is coming out soon! Features from RZA, Ghost, Deck, G Rap, Killah Priest, Rah Digga, and a bunch more. The first one was pretty dope, so hopefully the Abbott can match it musically.

Just ran across this album by The Problemaddicts. They take the "Dark Side of Oz" experiment and use it as inspiration for a fun album, full of Pink Floyd and Wizard of Oz samples.

Three of the songs are up on their MySpace, so you can check them out before downloading...

Might not be new news but...

Detox has again been put on the backburner. Hopefully the repeated delays means that Detox passes Dre's high standards when/if it finally gets released.

Lovely stuff! No Karma, somewhat surprisingly, works brilliant. This is great.

Fucking Pitchfork. They put up a two paragraph story about this album, and it made me gag. It's obviously not masterful in any way, and maybe five years later, mash-up's using The Black Album are a bit tedious, but what is the music is enjoyable enough? Why the need to slag it off for absolutely no reason? God, they're reaching intolerable levels for me personally.

Why read Pitchfork? It's a joke.

This is more nostalgia than anything really. But I just watched the video for Fantastic Voyage on youtube. I haven't seen this in a long time. It doesn't seem like this song came out in 94.

Help us out lads. I hardly listen to any hip-hop any more and I feel like this is just NOT ON.

I am less into lyrically deep stuff nowadays and more interested in club bangers...for example the tracks I've listened to a lot recently are mainly DJ Khaled remixes with Kanye, Jay-Z, Ludacris etc appearing on them. Khaled's hard-hitting beats are right up my alley.

So can anyone recommend me some good tracks along those lines? Or if something doesn't fall under that category but is still legitimately awesome then recommend it anyway.

As a guide, tracks I've enjoyed recently include...

Shawty Lo - Dey Know (Remix)
DJ Khaled - Go Hard (both the original and the remix), Out Here Grinding, I'm So Hood (Remix)
Papoose - Nothing's Changed

Ludacris absolutely murders I'm So Hood.

Suggestions?
