Are you serious about Cassidy? That kid is a clown...

A hot single means nothing. And really, Swizz killed that single, Cassidy did nothing... (beats been MURDERED by other MC's)

Of course I am serious. His album was awful because he changed his style to appeal to girls. Almost all of his mixtape stuff is solid. And everyone knows how he owned Beanie Sigel. Watch out for Personality Change, I guarantee it will be quality.

Just heard Kanye West's new single, Diamonds.

Utter garbage. Can't believe he chose to put this piece of crap track out. Sounds like a filler track that Fabolous would put on his album. Shite, shite, shite. I had high hopes. I'm sure the album will be good, but this was a poor choice for a first single.

I know you weren't talking about me.

If the shoe fits…

Who the fuck are you?

Just by browsing this thread briefly, I see that you are one of these internet nerd poser types who try and act all pretentious just because your fellow nerds say mediocre crap like anticon and sage francis is cool. You’re probably a part-time listener who disses hip hop in the company of your friends who listen to something different.

I was merely making an observation concerning the lack of knowledge in this thread. What the fuck gives you the balls to step to me concerning this topic? Just a couple of years ago were putting 50 Cent & Eminem (http://forums.rajah.com/showthread.php?t=38264&page=3&pp=25) on your all-time MC list and now after finishing your little 2 year internet hip hop internship, we are to believe that you are some kind of underground expert? AHAHAHAHAHH

I’ve been breathing and living the hip hop lifestyle for over 25 years, longer than your punk ass has been in existence kid. Growing up in uptown NYC, I graffed up the A-train, did windmills on cardboard and jammed at block parties as a shorty with THE actual pioneers of this shit. I’ve got more hip hop in one of my pubes that you’ll ever have in 500 lifetimes.

I can tell you’re a bitch-made poser because you go out of your way to belittle styles of the genre that aren’t your taste. People like me who’ve actually experienced the growth of hip hop from damn near birth, appreciate the expansion of the movement that has helped many previously hopeless people from the community find an avenue for success. Stop acting like you’re some know-it-all in front of a bunch of casual listeners on a wrestling website. Your little schtick aint fooling a real head like me, and like Common once said, I see the bitch in you. Therefore, I will keep laughing my balls off at your expense.

Keeping your ears to the street > keeping your ears to the modem.

Speaking of UGK, has anyone heard Pimp C's new album??

I heard from my boy L-D (who's on the inside of the Southern Hip Hop sene) that Master P had Pimp C kidnapped in NOLA.. He was held for over a week.. His recent stint in jail steamed from him shooting at one of the kidnappers, who he saw soon after he was let go.. This all comes from old beef from when No Limit was trying to sign UGK..

On his album he seems pretty shaken about the whole thing..but again, I haven't heard it..

So when I do it, it is different?

QuietStorm
May 15th, 2005, 11:21 PM
I have never once pushed my own tastes on anyone. Obviously I am going to have different tastes than someone like Jank or Krispy. But I have never personally bashed another's tastes, sure I comment on artists but it is no different than anyone else does. I live in Mount Pleasant, MI where basically the only blacks here are the ones going to college and it is hard to find anyone that properly gives a fuck about hip hop unless I traveled downstate to do so.

I went to a private high school. My parents are certainly not rich, but they are secure in that middle class. My personal taste evolved from my surroundings, same as you guys. I never once argued I was as "hip hop" as Krispy or Jank or certainly not KRS-One.

I have learned a lot from 19 to 22. And I am not a hip hop expert nor have I ever tried to be. I comment on what I know. Stay away from what I don't. I guess people started looking at me differently based on how many posts I had in this thread or artists I enjoy listening to that they aren't familiar with. Just because I recommended shit to people or liked a white boy who raps it makes me pretentious? Or because I playfully have knocked the South just to get after Krispy a bit. Bullshit. And I appreciate what the South has done for hip hop. And I enjoy a bit of it. But as a whole it just doesn't fit me.

I'm sorry for trying to be anything more than an overzealous fan of Canibus.

And as recently as a couple months ago, I said that 50 Cent's "Guess Who's Back" was my shit a few years ago. Just as I still enjoy listening to The Slim Shady LP every few months or so. That is all I have to say about that list, which I'm sure changed in some form the next day.

Quietstorm, I aint reading all that shit.

Go back and read some of your posts. You say pretentious shit quite often. You might not think so, but from my perspective it seems a bit ridiculous. The "I'm joking" line should be retired from this place forever because it is more played out than wearing polka dots.

You're the one who tries to come across as "king all shit" when your experience doesn't merit it, hence the card pulling.

I don't think you're complete shit. Canibus is pretty dope and his verse from Beasts from the East is quite possibly the greatest verse in history.

Street's disciple, my raps are trifle
I shoot slugs from my brain just like a rifle
Stampede the stage, I leave the microphone split
Play Mr. Tuffy while I'm on some Pretty Tone shit
Verbal assassin, my architect pleases
When I was twelve, I went to hell for snuffin Jesus
Nasty Nas is a rebel to America
Police murderer, I'm causin hysteria
My troops roll up with a strange force
I was trapped in a cage and let out by the Main Source
Swimmin in women like a lifeguard
Put on a bulletproof nigga I strike hard
Kidnap the President's wife without a plan
And hangin niggaz like the Ku Klux Klan
I melt mics till the sound waves over
Before steppin to me you'd rather step to Jehovah
Slammin MC's on cement
Cause verbally, I'm iller than a AIDS patient
I move swift and uplift
your mind shoot the gift when I riff in rhyme
Rappin sniper, speakin real words
My thoughts react, like Steven Spielberg's
Poetry attacks, paragraphs punch hard
My brain is insane, I'm out to lunch God
Science is dropped, my raps are toxic
My voicebox locks and excels like a rocket

Obviously it's quality just reading it, but when you take into account the context of it, it just gets more incredible. Nas' first ever 'official' performance, written when he was SIXTEEN. That is fucking incredible.

In The Commision, you ask for permission to hit 'em
He don't like me, hit him while wifey was with him
You heard of us, the murderous, most shady
Been on the low lately, the feds hate me
The son of (*Satan*), they say my killing's too blatant
You hesitatin, I'm in your mama crib waitin
Duct tapin, your fam' destiny
lays in my hands, gat lays in my waist
Francis, M to the iz-H phenominal
Gun rest under your vest by the abdominal
Rhyme a few bars so I can buy a few cars
And I kick a few flows so I can pimp a few hoes
Excellence is my presence, never tense
Never hesitant, leave a nigga bent real quick
Real sick, brawl nights, I perform like Mike
Anyone -- Tyson, Jordan, Jackson
action, pack guns, ridiculous
And I'm, quick to bust, if my ends you touch
Kids or girl you touch, in this world I clutch
Two auto-matoes, used to call me fatso
Now you call me Castro, my rap flows
militant, y'all faggots ain't killin shit
Ooops Cristal keep spillin shit; you overdid it homes
You in the danger zone, you shouldn't be alone
Hold hands and say it like me
The most shady, Frankie baby, fantastic
Graphic, tryin to make dough, like +Jurassic+
+Park+ did quick to spark kids who start shit
See me, only me
The Underboss of this holocaust
Truly yours, Frank White

Delivery on that is what really makes it, but lyrically it's awesome too. Maybe not a classic in the normal sense, but all things considered it's one of those verses you can just listen to again, and again, and again, and again...

Yo, dwellin in the past, flashbacks when I was young
Whoever thought that I'd have a baby girl and three sons
I'm goin through this difficult stage I find it hard to believe
Why my old Earth had so many seeds
But she's an old woman, and due to me I respect that
I saw life for what it's really worth and took a step back
Family ain't family no more, we used to play ball
Eggs after school, eat grits cause we was poor
Grab the pliers for the channel, fix the hanger on the TV
Rockin each others pants to school wasn't easy
We survived winters, snotty nosed with no coats
We kept it real, but the older brother still had jokes
Sadly, daddy left me at the age of six
I didn't know nuttin but mommy neatly packed his shit
She cried, and grandma held the family down
I guess mommy wasn't strong enough, she just went down
Check it, fifteen of us in a three bedroom apartment
Roaches everywhere, cousins and aunts was there
Four in the bed, two at the foot, two at the head
I didn't like to sleep with Jon-Jon he peed the bed
Seven o'clock, pluckin roaches out the cereal box
Some shared the same spoon, watchin saturday cartoons
Sugar water was our thing, every meal was no thrill
In the summer, free lunch held us down like steel
And there was days I had to go to Tex house with a note
Stating "Gloria can I borrow some food I'm dead broke"
So embarrasin I couldn't stand to knock on they door
My friends might be laughin, I spent stamps in stores
Mommy where's the toilet paper, use the newspaper
Look Ms. Rose gave us a couch, she's the neighbor
Things was deep, my whole youth was sharper than cleats
Two brothers with muscular dystrophy, it killed me
But I remember this, mom's would lick her finger tips
To wipe the cold out my eye before school wit her spit
Case worker had her runnin back to face to face
I caught a case, housin tried to throw us out of our place
Sometimes I look up at the stars and analyze the sky
And ask myself was I meant to be here... why?

The ultimate in storytelling...deep without being boring, emotional without being sickly sweet...Ghost is the maaaaaaaaaan. Verse just takes you right into the song, like you're there.

Can't really be arsed to find any more verses but the other ones that are 'right up there'...

-Big Pun's The Dream Shatterer, verse starts with "I shatter dreams like Jordan, assault and batter your team..."
-Nas' NY State Of Mind, verse starts with "Rappers, I monkeyflip 'em `with the funky rhythm I be kickin'..."
-Common's Retrospect For Life, verse starts with "Knowing you're the best part of life, do I have the right to take yours?..."
-Mos Def's Thieves In The Night, verse starts with "I'm sure that everybody out listening agree..."
-Nas' It Ain't Hard To Tell, verse starts with "I excel, then prevail..."

Too much Nas :$

Oh and best Outkast verse = Dre on Git Up Git Out :D

Cee Lo is an extremely underated and amazing talent. I picked up Soul Machine about two or three months ago, after I saw him perform "The One" on Night at the Appollo. That album mixes Soul, RnB, Hip-Hop and hard rap lyrics with meaningful and deep messages seemlessly. It is one of the most slick, well produced albums I've heard in a long time. It's a shame The One didn't make it to mainstream radio, as it could and should have easily been a top ten single.

I get what you're saying about Cee-Lo, but his rhymes actually have meaning and depth to them. I've never heard him on any mixtapes or underground stuff, so I don't know if he can freestyle or what, but he does more than just sing: he can flow and put some awesome words together. So if we're talking about who can rap better, well, a lot of people would go over him, but if we're talking about who can put lyrics together or flow better, I'm gonna say Cee-Lo.

I think no one can deny Timbaland's beat making abilities. First look at the hundred-some singles he's produced, most of which are dope as shit and popular for a damn good reason. Then listen to some of the albums he produced: the only one I have is Welcome to our World with Magoo. It's a very weak album lyrically, but musically I love it. I can definetly just play that shit and vibe to its beats. I can see his style not being for everyone as its real clubby and radio friendly, but don't playa hate the man. He's got skills.

I own Welcome To Our World and Tim's Bio. Both are awesome. I don't think the albums are lyrically weak either: Tim isn't really hip-hop, he's more rap/rNb. He raps over his beats as opposed to being a lyricist.

Tap man, Tim's stuff is beyond weak lyrically. His boy Magoo has spit some of the corniest shit of the 90's (how about that "Bird bird bird" line?). Tim himself has never spit anything above average..

On the other hand, his beats are ridiculous. I can't believe you're hating on his production Seanny. He might not make a banger everytime like Just Blaze, but he's still one of the most consistently dope producers in the game.

I didn't used to like Timbaland aparticularly, but that was when I judged all hip-hop by the same criteria - and lyrically, Timbaland's music was nowhere, so I didn't really like his tracks. Now that I've broadened my horizons a little and just take his music for what it is, I fucking love it...fantastic producer, every track he makes you can imagine going mad for in a club. That track he produced for Justin Timberlake for the Shark Tale movie (Good Foot) was brilliant, the bass was astonishing.

Bird's the word? Yeah, somewhat corny, but extremely catchy and he had everyone singing it.

His stuff is only weak if you're looking for deep rap lyrics. That's like calling Elton John a weak lyricist: he's not a hardcore hip-hop poet. Timbaland makes rap music, a big difference from hip-hop. His lyrics fit the context of the beat he's making.

I'm not too sure what your taste of hip-hop is Seanny, but maybe try Aaliyah's "Try Again" or Missy Elliot's "Bussa Rhyme", which features Eminem and Timbaland. That's Timbaland at his best, so if you fail to like either or both of those songs, it's almost a given you won't like any of his stuff.

I think the song with Aaliyah and DMX is called "Come Back In One Piece" and it indeed was produced by Timbaland, but I think Aaliyah aided in the production.

Also, how could I forget? If you like a beat AND singing, definitely listen to "Same Ol' G" by Ginuwine.. awesome laid back beat with Ginuwine and Tim singing why fame and money hasn't changed them.

Also, he produced Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin", need I say more?

I dont think Ghost will let OB4CL2 fail, and Rae's latest stuff has been damn good (Baggage Handlers, Guerilla Shit). It comes down to production, because thats where Immobilarity & Lex Diamond Story were kind of weak. As long as RZA, True Master, Mathematics & 4th Disciple are there, it should be good. They have to get all the Clan on it as well.

Best line was "pitch with Kiss and I'll come out swingin it's like going to see 50 at a show and he gon' come out singin"

I thought when Joe released that 50 Diss it was just an underground release to get play across the country. You know, to get publicity and his word out there. But on his upcoming album, there's a song called My Fo Fo being listed, and I'm assuming that's the diss. Kinda crazy he's releasing such an obvious verbal assault on a commercial album. Usually, diss songs that appear on albums are usually watered down or kind of have hidden messages. I'm actually looking foward to this album, even though So Much More is absolute shit.

It kills me becuase Joe can come out with some (at least in my opinion) pretty good songs, but his first singles usually suck.

I'm also digging that "New York" with The Game, Fat Joe and Jada. I like that version better than the Ja Rule version, and that one wasn't bad. Both are pretty similar with the exception of The Game replacing Ja, but the alternate version is a little longer.

Tap.. check out Jada's diss, you'll see why we think Fat Joe's is so weak in comparison. I think you'll be able to find it titled "Checkmate". The problem with Joe is he's really inconsistent. Yeah, that Roy Jones line in "New York" was tight, but how often do we hear something like that from him? That new shit out with Nelly right now is ass minus the Storch beat.

Here's some shit, just messin' around.. 10:50 in the mornin, pounding headache.. but I just wanted to throw some shit down for fun. Let's make a thread for that tourney.

Yeah, you're right, my apologies. "It's Your World" and "Love Is"... I keep thinking the CD's longer than eleven tracks. Isn't "Be" co-produced by both of them? And even though Jay Dee's name may only be on the credits for two or three tracks, it's my understanding he played a big role in the album. That's Com's man.

Yo I step up to the mic and smack the face of BuckMarley,
I smack him extra hard cuz I'm the type that rocks the party,

Black eyed pleads when I skin your knees,
People walking round with torn shirts and ripped jeans,
I'm the type that wants an audience when I make a victim bleed,
Insinuating metaphors and fucked up fantasies,
It's final, no more Buck - Marley's my idol,
If my sword was a book then I'd stab you with the title,
No more gats man I fuck with air rifles,
Don't look me in the face because I'll perforate your eyeballs,
I'll bury you in the beach cuz you've got sand in your vagina,

The new album will be Hip Hop For Sale, released on Babygrande. It is coming out at the end of July as of now.

Mind Control is being released on Gladiator/Tommy Boy on June 21, but at least 10 of the 11 tracks have already been released and are only going have production improvements. It looks like it is just a contract fulfillment and an attempt to get a new buzz going. Rumor is the Source gave it 1.5 mics. Hahaha.

My Control is a splendid mainstream appeal track though. They should have made a video for that instead of Talk the Talk, which will probably never get made anyhow.

I hate it.

It lacks the catchy hooks/verses from his singles off College Dropout. I was really dissapointed.

I'm still looking foward to the album though.

What's everyone's opinion on Guerilla Black. On one hand, I think he's pretty good, but on the other, he freaks me the hell out. He looks way too much like Biggie, and his voice is basically identical. I just feel like I enjoy him because I enjoy Biggie.

Catchy hooks and verses? I don't know about you, but the hook is pretty damn catchy to me. Kanye stepped his game up on that single, and really came impressive lyrically. I don't know what catchy lyrics you were looking for, but they're of better quality than most stuff on College Droupout. Plus, addressing all his critics and naysayers on his first single? Balls.

Guerilla Black is horrible, and is nothing like Biggie minus the look and voice. The difference is Biggie had lyrical skills, while is severely lacking with Black and makes all the difference. You might confuse them at first listen, but paying some attention will make it clear who's who. But yeah, Black is all gimmick and was exposed months ago, since then he seems to have completely fallen off. People found an older album of his where he rapped in an entirely different voice/style, more similar to DMX or even Mystikal at times. He's more gimmicky than the Battle Royal at WM17.

What exactly do you mean? The whole mafiaso persona? Yeah, it had been done before and done better, and Nas was basically ripping off the popular style in rap at the time.. but that's not to say it was a weak album. Lyrically, he hardly lost his touch. It Was Written gets a lot of flack because it was the follow-up to one of rap's finest recordings ever, Illmatic. The perfect hip-hop CD. My point being, yeah.. IWW was no Illmatic, but don't deny its hotness. Nas didn't really fall off til Nastradamus in my mind, and he recovered from that nicely..

Most of the hardcore hip-hop heads I know don't like the song either. I told them I had Kanye's new single and of course, they were anxious to hear it. I played it, and they're pretty much like "What the fuck was Kanye thinking?"

To me, this just sounds cheap, generic and unpolished. Sounds like filler material to me. The only thing that "catches" me about the song is the blatant rip-off from Outkast's "Ms. Jackson".

Hardcore hip-hop heads? Kanye isn't exactly the most respected amongst real hip-hop heads, a lot of people hate on him and his ego.. his production is the only thing that's really consistently praised.

Lyrically, it's unquestionably some of his best stuff. Focused, well-written.. much better than some of the stuff on C.D., or guest appearances (how about that dumbass astrology/Uranus line from Jada's song?)

I just don't know where you're coming from... at all. Cheap, generic, and unpolished? Kanye used a beautiful Shirley Bassey sample over a hard-hitting and energetic beat... to me, it sounds like the exact opposite of cheap, generic, and unpolished.

Yeah, that "forever-ever?" thing is dumb.. but like you said, it's blatant. It's not like he's trying to pass it off as his own.

But... whatever floats your boat :)

Nah.. Kanye's stepped his flow up a hell of a lot, who can't see that? Some of that stuff on College Droupout was ridiculously bad, being completely off-beat with his flow and going off on random tangents on almost every track... Now, stuff like "Two Words" and "Never Let Me Down" blow "Diamonds" away.. but "Diamonds" is realer than all of CD's singles..

How anyone who likes Kanye can hate on "Diamonds" is beyond me.... you're telling me "The Workout Plan" is better?

Simon
June 20th, 2005, 10:10 AM
Kanye's album wasn't about his flow, it was about production first, and humorous lyrics second. The production is unquestionable and the lyrics, while not earth-shatteringly brilliant, were great for what they were - simple, humorous lines talking about everyday life without taking anything too seriously. Flow isn't everything. Immortal Technique can't flow for shit but that doesn't stop him being the best rapper around nowadays.

The production on Diamonds is just dull. The Workout Plan, like the majority of College Dropout, was just catchy production and fun, jokey lyrics. If you're going to compare it to the most-respected artists then for sure it'll fall short, but there's no real comparison - by the same token you could say Illmatic or Ready To Die are shitty records if all you're looking for is catchy beats and a bit of funny lyricism.

The New Workout Plan was good for what it was, Diamonds tries to be something more and fails.

Stringer Bell
June 20th, 2005, 10:18 AM
:wtf: Rap is about your flow, among many other qualities, whether Kanye wanted to acknowledge that or not. The fact that Kanye makes all of his beats should work like hell in his favor, as he knows them in and out. Sadly, on C.D., that wasn't apparent at all. Some of the stuff on C.D. flowed so bad, it was laughable. Immortal's problem is he doesn't sound natural enough on tracks, while Kanye on C.D. was just all over the place, on his OWN beats!! On "Diamonds", he's clearly stepped his game up a lot...

Humorous lyrics? Actually, Kanye was praised most for his real and conscious lyrics, like on "Jesus Walks", "Through The Wire", "Two Words", "All Falls Down", etc. He brought real topics, real issues to the mainstream, and made being a conscious rapper "cool"... I don't know anyone who thought Kanye's album was about humorous lyrics.. sure, there were tracks like "Workout Plan", but the seriousness outweighs the humor.

If you want funny lyrics, listen to some gimmick joke rappers.. Kanye shines most when he gets serious.

You're saying Ready To Die and Illmatic didn't have catchy beats? Those are two of the best produced hip-hop albums, ever...

Simon
June 20th, 2005, 10:45 AM
:wtf: Rap is about your flow, among many other qualities, whether Kanye wanted to acknowledge that or not.No, that's what YOU think hip-hop is about. Many would disagree, and that's their right. Hip-hop is about different things for different people.
outweighs the humor.

If you want funny lyrics, listen to some gimmick joke rappers.. Kanye shines most when he gets serious.More arrogance to suggest that your opinion of what hip-hop is means that funny lyrics are for gimmick rappers. Ludacris? Eminem? Redman?

You're saying Ready To Die and Illmatic didn't have catchy beats? Those are two of the best produced hip-hop albums, ever...No doubt they are good, that's not being doubted, but they aren't infectious and catchy the way commercially-intended tracks are. That's not a bad thing.

Now, I don't necessarily like Workout Plan, but if I had to choose, I'd pick that over Diamonds.

Game has been unloading all sorts of shit on 50, even a full length mixtape of disses. 50 hasn't said shit since the initial incident, so he's not exactly the aggressor in this situation. They're both shitty though, so who cares?

Trust me, I've listened to plenty of hip-hop for a long time, and that song, in my book, ranks right up there with some of my other favorites of all time.

You seem to occasionally think that not everyone has your style of tastes. I guess I should have said that "Dreams" is on par with anything I can come up with instead of genralizing the statement.

But to answer your question, no, I don't think hip-hop gets any better than that. As I said, I've listened to a lot of hip-hop over the years (I've listened to blaring hip-hop in the middle of the night while I'm trying to get sleep for school. I've spent hours riding in 500 dollar chevys with 2,000 dollar sound systems with all types of rap blaring out. Simply put, you could say "you don't think hip-hop gets any better than that?" about ANY song.

We all have different tastes, and "Dreams" just had all the ingredients that I like about hip-hop. A sample from an old-school jam, awesome beat, and some fairly deep lyrics. Maybe you think hip-hop gets better, but I don't. To say that "Dreams" wouldn't have been half as good without Kanye is kinda beyond the point because..... well, Kanye DID do the beat and it turned out great. That's like saying Tupac wouldn't have been half as good if he didn't rap about real issues. He did, so it doesn't matter.

Anyways, I fucking love that song and it ranks right up there with some of my favorites of all time.

Well, that's you. I guarentee you, if you researched hip-hop a little more, you'd change your mind. Is it supposed to be impressive that rap has woken you up at night, or that you've heard it out of nice stereos? I really don't understand that statement.

Saying "Dreams" wouldn't have been half as good without Kanye has everything to do with my point, actually. Game relies on production, and The Documentary wouldn't have been shit without guys like Dre, Storch, Kanye, and Just Blaze. Just look at Game's material before signing with Aftermath, there's nothing redeeming about it.

Jesus.. definitely. Kanye even admitted to ripping off Supreme Clientele. They definitely haven't reached that pinnacle since, but they've put out some good stuff..

Tap, that'd be a great starting point... Ghost's Supreme Clientele.

New Kanye material out... "About an Angel" and "Gold Digger". Personally, I think "Diamonds" is still the best song from the new LP leaked so far. Although, Tap, "Gold Digger" might be more of the stuff you were looking for.. more fun and upbeat than "Diamonds".

I don't want to research hip-hop. My point about being woke up at night by rap and listening to it in cheap cars was that I've heard A LOT of rap over the years. I'm talking A LOT. I may not gobble up mixtapes and underground material, but I have heard a lot of rap (and own it as well). Researching isn't necessary. I've heard thousands of songs, I continue to listen to thousands of songs, and "Dreams" is fucking quality. In my eyes, it's about as good as a rap song gets. That's all. Like you said, it's just me. But that's what I meant about being woke up and stuff....

Yeah, I'm totally with you. I have both "Untold Story" and "West Coast Resurrection", and they are both pretty shitty. But I'm not really saying The Game is great. I'm not saying Kanye isn't great. All I'm saying is I like the song "Dreams" and that it's fucking awesome. What does it matter who made it? I have mad respect for Kanye for making such a quality track. But my whole point saying I love the song is just that... I'm not arguing for or against anybody on the track. Doesn't matter to me if The Game made it, if Kanye made it, or if John Doe at the end of the block made it. Point is, it turned out how it turned out, and I love the song and respect whomever made it.

Since you like havin people wit you, we'll get you a hospital with bunk beds"

"Hov don't really respect you, get in your place
If Big was alive he'd have prolly spit in your face
Nas been doin just fine without you
And Pac prolly would of made an album about you
So I guess that just leaves me here to get rid of you
And Rakim and them, they don't even consider you"

"It's 2005, nobody fights fair
I just know an instrumental is your worst nightmare
But you tough, and you bad, too bad, you mad
Prolly been in your old hood more than you have"

"Yeah you sold more records than me
But in the streets you gon always be second to me
We was damn near feelin ya
Even though your career is based off somebody damn near killin ya
Shit you be doin ain't even considered rappin to us
This is prolly the best thing to happen to us
The best wanksta, internet gangsta, magazine mobster, shit on your whole roster
Get ready to say your hail marys and our fathers
Get out your black suits and hard bottoms
And dont worry I got em
You ain't a problem child, you just a child with a problem"

Seanny One Ball

I can vouch it's his best album.

Nate got me into Canibus when I hated him. Can-I-Bus has more lyrical content than any album I own. It's arguable anyway.
I love that album, I mean when you compare 2000 B.C, MiClub or RTJ then it's all about beat and rhyme.

On RTJ my favourite tracks are No Return, Levitibus, Spartibus and Genibus - also Poet Laureat 2 which is more or less 200 bars....

I'd say that the first Poet Laureat on MiClub was dope as fuck but it doesn't touch RTJ. On MiClub itself Bis Vs Rip has to be the best track. It's such a convincing battle too...like Canibus has the vocabulary of 10 rappers and even then he's stretched to get his message across.

In short the man is my rap idol, if I was ever to be a rapper I'd credit him on every album I dropped.
Can-I-Bus is the legend, the original scripture. I'd never give the man credit without mentioning Wyclef - nothing fucked up, the only thing that scuppered it was the expectation of straight battle heat from a man who didn't want to come out swinging like that.

When LL tested him it was cool but after that there was nobody. He might have made Em look like a bitch on apparently the worst rap album released in years but that proved nothing other than how fucking shite Em had become.

True Hollywood Stories is just corny, it would've been okay if it was from some other rapper with less potential. Canibus had no business doing that shit..

I just think RTJ is phenominal. Canibus had been trying to find his groove, and it seemed like he found it on there to me. Mic Club's good, but those Stoupe beats match 'Bus perfectly.

Ying Yang, we think outside of the normal thought process. That's what brings about these types of songs, 'cause we use our brains to think more then we use the bullshit"

I haven't found a confirmed tracklisting, so I pretty much downloaded anything by Kanye that I haven't seen/heard of yet. Those songs are:

Diamonds (Sierra Leone)
Diamonds (Sierra Leone) Remix
Gold Digger
The Last Registration
Good Ass Job
Dream Killers
Wack Niggas
My Baby (this song was on Janet Jackson's Damita Joe album, which he appeared on, so I can't see him using over a year later, but who knows.)
Brand New
Soulful w/ John Legend
Higher
Wow
Where You At
Philly Niggas
Peace
Out The Game
Out of Your Mind
Niggas Gossip
My Whole Life
I Need To Know w/ John Legend
About An Angel (this track is fucking awesome)
Apologize
Arguements
Can't Nobody Love Me Like You
Ghetto
Gorgeous
Hey Mama
Home w/ Jay-Z
Improvise
Is That Your Car
Livin' A Movie

Obviously, all these songs aren't going to make the cut, and some may simply be mixtape material. You know how file sharing programs are: they always misname files and such. But many songs, like Soulful, Diamonds remix and About An Angel are pretty much givens.
