Well the behaviour and general posting quality in here has got a lot better recently. As such I've decided to create a new thread at the top, a bit more relaxed than the previous one.

So, the few rules/guidelines:

i) No excessive use of profanity.
ii) No posting wildly off-topic in a thread. The occasional comment here and there is OK but whole posts that have absolutely nothing to with the thread are to be avoided.
iii) Milestone Threads are to be kept to a minimum, and if made should have some content in them rather than just a note to say that you've reached x number of posts.
iv) No deliberately inciting people in order to get a reaction out of them.
v) If your game dies don't bump it back to the top. That just annoys people.
vi) Any new e-feds where the results of matches are determined by quality of rp/promo will be moved to the R-Fed forum.

Action will be most likely be taken against those people who go against these guidelines. The Asylum is there for a reason, and you can do anything you want in there. Now I don't expect this forum to be the second-coming of the Off-Topic, but neither do I expect to see it filled with complete and utter crap.

Accept it. Move on. If you really must find out why it was deleted then e-mail one of the Moderators. Complaining about it on the forums will result in everyone hating you.

I would say it would usually be when the thread drops off of the first page but i suppose there may be some exeptions

I think a game basically dies when nobody is replying to it.

I consider a game dead when the last poster in it is the owner, and no-one has replied after that. Occassionally there are exceptions, but that's the main guideline.

Alright, but what if the game was good in its time? Like they were replied to back in the day and they have a fairly unique and good concept?

You mean R-T-W?

Basically if all that is happening in a game is that the owner is just posting stuff and no-one is responding, then it's pretty much dead. R-T-W is a grey area, but it is technically still alive because there is outside interest in it.

Well speaking of RTW, thanks ;). I'm going through a rough time at school now so 'returning' RTW wouldn't be very good now. I'd never kill it off.

But what I was really talking about were the Title Change Chain Game and the New Type Of Game.

Title Change can be bumped, that game ruled. It's not exactly dead because it (roughly) falls under the classification of a "spam-game", and they don't die.

From experience, I think that there are no set number of warnings. If you do something thats agaisnt the rules but wasn't done blatantly, you'll probably get a three day warning, but if your a real fuck up you can just get a straight ban with no warning. So, it all depends on what you do.

Because it's one of those very few games that doesn't need regular posting in, but people need to see it so that they can respond to it. Sticking it at the top works for that :yes:

So people see it. RTW's survival depends on people participating and, as I know from experience, if the thread isn't in their face, alot of people may not remember ever signing up.

RTW was originally made sticky as it didn't require people to post in it, but people needed to see it in order to participate in it - if it wasn't stuck it would drop off the front page. FWWE has a very high turnover of posts, and can't continue if people don't post in it, which isn't a factor because they do.

Howeverr as it seems that with the trivia/PM games the owners are confirming sent PMs, I can't see the need for RTW to be stickied as the current owner can do that.

Your game was blatant spamming, and could have consisted of people posting just a single letter continually, with people filling up a whole page with posts of their won. In the First to 100 Game, posts had to contain facts, and people were not allowed to post consecutively.

If you had posted rules which meant that the game could be kept within the forum rules then it would have stayed open - but seeing as you called the game Spammer of the Year, I can't see how you could have implemented rules that stopped it from going against the no spamming rule.

Five posts previous to yours I stated that this thread is open to give people a chance to ask questions, not to spam. From this point onwards, anyone who just posts in here without making a legitimate remark or question about the BG Forum will be banned for three days.
