I don't hate Cody, I just don't think he's in the right role. The upside is, what he's been doing the last couple years will help his heel run. Just like Roman Reigns' booking all those years when everyone booed him out of the building helped his heel run tremendously.

cody was incredible while AEW was establishing itself. the jericho and then MJF feuds were awesome and he was by far AEW's top babyface in a very important time for the company to build momentum. for the past year+ though i've found most of what he's been involved in tiresome. i'm really ready for a heel turn, but i hope it's as part of the actual show rather than staying sequestered in some "nightmare family" bullshit no one cares about. i want to see him as a heel individual feuding with the top babyfaces. heel cody vs. cm punk could be a monster program.

Crowd finally got that chant in as well as they could for Danielson. His violence and aggression is very palpable and quite enjoyable to watch play out on screen. Really fun match between the two of them, fun to see Cattle Mutilation result in a finish. Kazarian < Danielson in regards to Elite Hunting.

Nice production quality on that Starks vignette. Swagger level was off the charts for him there.

I'm curious to see how long they plan to keep Punk's next move ambiguous. Feels like they're walking a very thin line with his direction. They have some mystique to him but it can easily veer off to losing the sizzle.

WWE-itis was on display as they went to commercial way too quickly into the women's triple threat. The No-DQ aspect really helped protect Thunder and helped the other two competitors. Not mad at Jade getting the win.

“There’s plenty of souls in this company that need to know their own truth. And there's plenty of toll that needs to be collected." Nicely done. Pleasantly surprised to hear the prospects of Black being done with the Nightmare Family.

I feel like they had two matches that easily could have closed this show and they had a third that really didn't need to. Oh well.

PAC, Andrade, Moxley, Archer were a great first rollout of options for the Casino Ladder Match. Notably went down with Cassidy and Hardy being the next competitors. Either way, that group and the Joker should make for a fun mach.

I watched the first 20 minutes of Cody Rhodes' reality show because my friend records 20 mins after Dynamite airs in case it runs long. If it was a reality show about AEW I'd be all in. I liked hearing Darby talk about how he slept in his car the night before beating Cody for the TNT belt. The struggle is when it's Cody and Brandi. If this show is simply going to be a way to "stick it to the haters", it's going to paint these two as high and mighty self righteous oblivious humans.

I'm also not really about reality tv. The last reality tv shows I truly cared about were stupid ass shows like Flavor of Love and Surreal Life. I watched some of those old Real Worlds from the 90's but I never hopped on the bandwagon like many others. Big Brother, Survivor, Kardashians, none of that shit appeals to me.

But if they keep focusing on a lot of the backstage stuff, showcasing some wrestlers like Darby, it should be pretty good. But it won't so yeah.

It makes me want to tune in just for that stuff. Like you said, if it was some kind of AEW behind the scenes reality show without the focus on Cody and Brandi, it might be mandatory viewing for me. As it is, I might leave it on casually once I finish Dynamite, but I don't plan to tune in for every episode.

It feels like every segment we are reminded of Tony Khan. I don't think it's people going into business for themselves every time. If they are, what a bunch of asskissers lol. AEW's roster and their die hards would let Tony Khan piss in their kids' mouth if there was a chance they could get some of that billionaire money. That's why nobody talked shit about Bischoff until after the fact. At first he was the coolest guy on the planet because his "dad" had a never ending supply of cash.

The only company who should be doing a women's tag title is the main roster of WWE. It's bi-brand and they have the depth but the depth isn't much to brag about. AEW is even worse.

I'm not against women's tag titles. Its like all secondary titles to me. Unless you go way overboard with the number of titles (like the Invasion era), its typically more about the booking to me than the depth. The NXT women's tag titles seem to work OK to me. its a shorter show, so if they're absent from time to time, its ok.

That said, i see the counter-argument that if you introduce a title that is likely to be poorly booked, you're just asking for problems. Get your existing shit sorted first, etc

Really fun that they just skipped the entrances and went right into the 8-man. Minor detail, but I dislike how things get so off the rails with either a straight tag match or a match like this one. Might as well just call it a Tornado Match haha. Really ugly powerbomb spot but they all can't be perfect. Tag semantics aside, hell of an opener.

Punk got a lot of mileage out of those Jordan 1s but that's cool that he gave them to the kid ringside. Happy-go-lucky Punk is fun and the match with Garcia should be good and certainly appreciate the fact he's giving the rub to the future, but I'm looking forward to seeing what the next big moment will be for him.

Congrats on Fuego becoming a proxy member of the Inner Circle. Lambert gets some serious heat, haha. I'll be curious to see how Dos Santos looks during the match. Paige just looks so annoying when she's in the ring lol.

Tournaments are always good and the new belt looks awesome. The women's championship looks like a throwback belt but despite having a TV channel's logo as the centerpiece, I think I like the new one more. This pretty much puts the onus on them to do more with what they have within the division. Let's see what they can do.

Kind of surprised Moxley was pretty much the only person to get promo representation prior for the main event. Just seemed like they could have done a bit more to hype the main event. On top of that, seemed a bit rushed to have just 19 minutes of TV time with the timed rollouts for the entrants. Maybe that was intentional to create a sense of urgency but that kind of came across as rushing and maybe not giving the match time to breathe. Really good to see Hangman back, and hilarious to see the chryon back in action for him (Finally Showed Up To Work). There were a lot of wild bumps in there and hopefully everyone is okay. Things get really interesting now at the top with Bryan not letting go of challenging Omega and Page back in the mix and now guaranteed to get a shot at Omega.

a second tier women's title really doesn't seem worthwhile

I thought that was a bit odd, too. I figured the have enough for a set of women's tag titles and make it a point to prove they can do that better. Plus, an added benefit of getting more of their women's roster on tv as well as perhaps have title matches on Dark/Elevation. But then the more I thought about it, it made sense. You have the AEW Heavyweight, and then the TNT title. So, you have the AEW Women's title and then the TBS (for the women's roster) title. Problem is, the Baker promo later kinda had her shit on them by claiming they're fighting over a B level title.

Also, if Shida doesn't renounce her happy/smiley ways and get more vicious and less predictable (as was reference on commentary), I would be surprised. A losing streak story could kinda work here if Shida just gets obsessed with getting her 50th over Deeb, but can't find ways to beat her.

Hangman coming back as the Joker was a surprise to me as I haven't followed anything. He HAS to beat Omega now. Can't wait any longer. Hangman and Moxley going at it had potential, so them being the first feud could be good.

Last night was probably one of my favorite Dynamites ever. I wasn't expecting much, but forgot it was the 2 yr. anniversary show. Four great matches and Hangman wining the ladder match delivered the goods.

People are saying the title match should happen at Full Gear. The PPV was named after Page from a BTE segment. Omega beat him at Full Gear to advance in the tournament to crown the first AEW champ so Page beating Omega in the main event is the natural conclusion to the storyline.

I tend to agree with TE but we won't know until later if the dividends are paid in full. Allin was already his way to being a star, but Hobbs and Garcia's eventual trajectory will help decipher whether or not this was proper utilization of Punk.

Listening to Billi Bhatti kind of break down the WWE/Wyatt situation, it really made me chill about the whole situation with them parting ways. By far one of the best characters of all time imo. Not too many matches I would say I cared too much about but as a character, incredible. Bhatti pointing out the injuries, the requested time off over the years for various reasons. Some of the legal shit the WWE were dragged into because of his divorce.

So who knows....maybe TK sees that despite how incredible this man is, maybe with such a bloated roster it's not worth dabbling into beyond a few appearances. If you take off your WWE blinders and remember that they're really the only promotion that doesn't do any cross promotion with other wrasslin companies, you'll see that AEW are willing to put people on even if there's nothing contractual long term.
