I mean I've listed performers who I like in here. I've listed things I don't like in here. I think it's perfectly fine to discuss these things on a forum designed to discuss but since it's not I guess I'll just keep my thoughts to myself. Sorry for not going 100% fanboy over aew. Guess Nash was right.

Despite WWE and its obvious creative problems, calling Smackdown a B show is a bit harsh. It’s easily more digestible than Raw (not that that is tremendously difficult) but they are generally very good and much better than Raw for longer term match storytelling and though the Bloodline dominate, it has a point.
In all of WWE’s problems (bearing in mind I haven’t seen SD tonight yet but the card looks action-packed) it is in the most part a generally well-written show. It definitely doesn’t deserve the same haze that Raw gets.
However in the grand scheme mainstream side of things, it is put across as the “B show” to the casual which is a shame. Raw is and will always be their baby where most of the major stuff happens which is shite and it still is shite except for RK-Bro right now and Damien Priest. Two things they are getting right. Morrison, great babyface potential which they are pissing out the window right now.

I thought they were on about the Raw/Dynamite thing but yeah of course Rampage will be the B show. But they’re damned good at it and had a helluva start but they can’t expect that every week.
Rampage is like the old school Sunday Night Heat WWF/E had in the Attitude Era. Small but advances storylines and serves its purpose. Of course Punk, Cole, Bryan won’t be on it every week but will get attention from someone.

Glad they’ve dropped the Vicky partnership they had. No offense against her but they had zero in common other than speaking a bit of Spanish. He’s got good vets around him speaking for him.
Also on the Vicky point, she’s not really added anything for Nyla either. I think this is like the JR thing where even if they are well past their sell-by date, they are doing them favours which is nice of them.

There's always going to be an A show and a B show. You can't have two A shows. That isn't a negative, though. Not on its face at least.

It’s probably good for someone just catching on at first, but his mistakes though endearing at first have happened too often for me. Harsh as this is and as nice as they are to him, he’s like Old Yeller waiting to die and they’ve got plenty on colour who can manage.
I’d like to remember him for who he was and as nice as they are to him, the more he’s on, the more I tune him out and listen to the others.
Schiavone is still great though. I love last week how they had Cole acknowledge his friendship with Britt.

To be fair to the guy, it’s likely a very tricky move to pull off safely all the time. Last week, he possibly realised by instinct (which is good on his part) that it wouldn’t go safely so hence the slight flip. Also Suzuki not a spring chicken and maybe positioning wrong.
It may not be as much a botch as adjusting for safety.

Again because I miss him in the normal mix. I even miss his previous theme. I get why they do “Wild Thing” but I want him back in the regular storylines because I miss him there going nuts. He should be tearing the Elite’s heads off by now.
End game most of the time (and forgive me if I’ve missed any where he’s lost) has been Mox going over. Kayfabe-wise, doesn’t seem to be much of a challenge.

Yeah true and maybe not expressed myself totally well as an aware and did enjoy the tag stuff with Kingston.
Main event title picture him not being in it at this point after being a feature for so long. Maybe just not still not quite used to him taking a small step down (the theme thing is my personal thing, I loved the old one so much and headbang to it) but yeah that’s beside the point.
As great as what he’s doing now (and maybe partially due to my ignorance of NJPW and his history with those guys) but what he’s doing now, there’s nothing recent that’s made me sit up and go “Holy shit, he might actually lose to this guy!” Apart from the dirty Omega title loss (deliberately leaving out the death match fake explosion match as less said about that the better), decent tag stuff with Kingston but nothing about him in singles says he’s beatable at the moment.

I think it's fair to say Moxley hasn't been a part of any meaningful stories with AEW guys since he came back from break.
That said, I also think it's fine. Moxley is probably loving wrestling the New Japan guys and is mostly there to pop the crowd and send the live crowd home happy while they focus on the new signees and some of the up-and-comers. I think that's fine as long as they find a meaningful program for him by Revolution or Double or Nothing. Not really interested in running Mox/Omega back any time soon and I think I prefer Eddie getting the TNT Title from Miro, so I'm not sure what his next in-house feud should be, though. Would be kind of cool to see him put over Ricky Starks after he inevitably does the job to Punk.
I'm also down for something big like a full program with Tanahashi or one of the top players from New Japan, but I'm not holding out for that unless they're really going to dig into a deeper feud with Suzuki/Archer.
As sort of a closer, I think it's fine using Moxley the way they are from a business/booking standpoint, but I could see how it's disappointing if you're in Badger's position who, if I'm not mistaken, started watching AEW more recently and loves Mox. But if you were there from early on, Mox was all over AEW so much the first year and a half that I'm ok with him taking a backseat and popping the crowd.

One thing we never got (which probably will happen at some point) is Mox vs MJF II so Mox can set the record (or MJF set the record straight) so we get a rubber match.
Bryan, Punk obvious. There’s Christian, Darby (another go-around), Jungle Boy (maybe they fought, can’t remember). Mox vs Jericho
II (technically never got his rematch), Mox vs Cassidy et al etc. Wardlow another one.
While Mox is enjoying his stuff and good partnership with the NJPW guys, just can’t get invested. I like the drama, story side of things and maybe lack of familiarity with NJPW guys is just taking me out of his stuff (currently).

Great show! Counted 33 superkicks and 21 suicide dives in less than an hour!
For real though - good match between Andrade and pac. My only complaint is they are more worried about spots than actual outcome of the match or the flow. So you are telling me out of all those high impact moves Andrade nailed Pac with what finally put the nail in the coffin was a shot from an iPad to the middle of his back from Chavo. Andrade did impress though. I'm fine with the spots but get a bit more realistic with them.
Sting and darby was fine for what it was.
Women's trios was fine as well. I reckoned this would have been a spot to get over in ruby without an actual loss but it's looking like she will remain undefeated in any match format until Brit.
"Main event" match was just to build bpj up some more for mjf to get some street cred back for his loss. Seems aew loves to out people over in their hometown. Plus mjf needs to be built back up for punk. I will admit I'm looking forward to their sparring on the mic.
Are they hinting omega is going to turn down Bryan for a match? Wouldn't be the worst idea. Bryan could make a 6 month or more program of running thru the elite if they wanted.
Psycho666Soldier

If they want to go a little more long term with Bryan getting a shot at Omega, it would be great for Omega to force the rankings system on him saying he has to earn his spot(could even play it up as "listening to the fans"), and so Bryan just starts wrestling both nights a week against different opponents to warm him up to the roster and have him climb the rankings to face Omega.
But I'm also fine with a "Strike while the iron is hot" approach.

100% I don't want a new guy gunning for the title without first racking up wins. Ruby did it by winning a battle royal so that is fine although she will rack up wins before the big match.
I don't want Kenny giving up another loss before he faces hangman. I wasn't a fan of Christian beating him first but it happened.
Hangman needs to come back and fix the Dark Order and beat Kenny so they elite can be a separate storyline from the world title.
Once Kenny loses the belt then loses to Bryan and starts loosing his other belts Adam Cole takes over the elite and we can have our 3 v 3 Civil War Kenny/Good brothers vs Cole/Young Bucks

I’d have Bryan go through the Elite and earn a title match and at the end, Hangman Page comes back and demands the title shot he deserves. Then you do Bryan/Page, bryan puts Page over and then Page beats Kenny for the title.

AEW has so many new debuts and have done such a good job of building their own stars, there are dozens and dozens of fresh main-event level match ups, they don't need to hold any of them too close to the chest and jealously protect them for PPVs, because there are tons of them.

I'd be booking Danielson, Moxley and Kingston vs. Omega and the Young Bucks for that show, with Danielson pinning Omega. I like the title hierarchy in AEW where title matches are earned. Then you run that at the PPV. Hangman match can wait, would bring him back on the card after Full Gear in his hometown. Then you do a long and proper build to Omega and Hangman at Revolution.

Wonder if he'll finally give Danielson a five star match now that he's in AEW. I know it's one guy's opinion, but his love in on modern wrestling does confuse me. In the last 10 years he's rated 91 matches 5 stars or more, with the previous 30 years or so covering 98. Bret Hart has the same as Michael Elgin. Lars Sullivan has more than Bryan Danielson. WWE has 14 in its entire existence and AEW has 8 in 2 and a half years. It's a bit mad the trends he goes on. The problem is the stock we put in to Meltzer's opinion at the top of the mountain. He's just as biased as any other fan. I think there needs to be a line drawn where we go ok, this isn't Eddie Van Halen ranking the best guitarists of the modern era every month in Guitar World. This is a superfan who just so happens to have a very similar opinion to what is good/bad about wrestling as many others.
So when you see him not giving the WWF 5 stars between HBK/Taker HIAC and Punk v. Cena, but he'll give every other match with The Young Bucks 5 stars....
Does Kurt Angle have any 5 star matches? I don't think so if I remember the last time we all talked about who has/hasn't been given one by the Mr Stone of wrestling news (Blankman reference motherfuckers)

There were definitely times over the last 3 years, where NXT was my favorite wrestling show.
Now for WWE, I have Smackdown, then NXT, then RAW.
I fell out of AEW for about 8 months. I've enjoyed the last month, but that's not really long enough for a definitive ranking.

Loving AEW definitely got me back into wrestling. Went from just reading results of WWE to watching AEW haven't missed a show since it started. Even legally purchased their latest PPV on Fite as its the only way to watch Dynamite and Rampage in Australia. Hopefully Kevin owens and Sami find their way to AEW wouldn't mind a gargano but understand if he stays with WWE.
AEW isn't perfect. Sometimes they run the same finish or same story on the same show.
Audio issues.
Some of their big gimmick stuff has been botched - Death match ring explosion.
I'm not a fan of Dan Lambert it might be a bit too early in AEW run to call their product shit on air haha.
PAC's travel issues are proving to be an issue as he gets something going then he misses a month because of travel.
Matt Hardy managing 3 tag teams is a bit much I would have limited it to Matt and Private Party
They could stand to trim a bit of their roster these are guys I just don't want to see on Dynamite Hybrid2, The nightmare factory + QT, Big Swole, Emi Sakura, Alex Marvez, Vicki Gurrrero, abadon, Big Show.
Before AEW I was more of a mainstream WWE guy so I didn't know most of the roster but they got me hooked. Love the tag division The Acclaimed and Varsity Blonds are getting primed for a top run. Their last PPV was so good and the big debuts are only going to propel them forward. They just need to fix up a few issues and they are definitely going to stick around for a while. I keep coming to this thread to have a chat about AEW but it seems half the chat always seems to be people fighting not even talking about AEW.

Wow I'm so excited for this show I was about to go to Candyman but not now. Moxley/Kingston v. Ever Rise (hopefully the main event) will be a banger. A lot of talking going on which is cool and holy shit, is that Archer v. Suzuki?? God damn I hate Shawn Spears though. I hate Tully too. Man they suck. Poor Darby and MJF go from top tier legends to this nonsense.
TNT ran an ad the other night showcasing all the African-American heavy shows they have now and when it was AEW they literally showed 2 people: Jade Cargill and the dude from the Bucks lol. Not even a shot of Scorpio Sky. I think they did show Jade pinning Red Velvet. My buddy was like, "Was that dude holding the championship from the Bucks?" I said yep he goes "So they just tried to make it like AEW had diversity showing him but where was Shaq??" No Powerhouse Hobbs or as we old people call him Ice Train 2.0
WWE just crowned it's 2nd black world champion in a row and the only time a black person gets a title or even a push in AEW is when the white man is the focal point. Even Jade Cargill has to have a Steve Corino lookin bum with her just to get tv time.

Frankie Kazarian the Elite hunter or whatever he calls himself is a fucking terrible gimmick. Especially for him. It's literally gone nowhere. If they want to make his gimmick matter, beating Adam Cole in Cole's first match in AEW would be tremendous. That's not even from a "Fuck you Adam Cole" mindset. “I didn’t even fly into Chicago [the site of All Out], I flew into a different city the day before,” Cole says, noting that he was thrilled to wear his mask to help hide his appearance on the flight. “I didn’t even stay in the same hotel as Bryan. We showed up to the building while the show was going on, and we waited outside in a trailer. The locker room didn’t even know until the absolute last moment. It was the most secretive debut I’ve ever been involved in, and Tony Khan took every measure to make this as big of a surprise as possible.”
“My actual decision was literally only a couple days before [the pay-per-view],” Cole says. “I was awake in bed, it was close to 1 in the morning, and I was imagining being involved in AEW. That thought gave me such an excited feeling. I was so giddy I couldn’t even sleep. I loved the idea of coming to All Elite Wrestling, and that’s when I knew what I needed to do.”

Honestly as much as I respect and love the legend that is Flair, I’m siding with the Donald here and don’t want to see Flair live out his last days in AEW. It’s cool what they’re doing with Sting who can still talk, move and bump about for his age but listening to JR on commentary these days who does like the gig and it’s a nice gesture but still painful and sad to listen to, I don’t really want to have to go through that again with Flair as a manager.

Fair enough. Not like they haven't pulled more legendary guys before, but they might let him run with it. I'm not sure they expect him to start trashing WWE or being a huge player in AEW. If he gets a major story over there it may be different. Just not actively promoting a rival.

I think perhaps one vaguely interesting storyline is manager-wise Flair going against Tully backing the Inner Circle to look back to their Horesemen days but while Tully being out of the picture long beforehand feels like a refresher, wouldn’t feel the same with Flair if he joined up. Plus even if he did stay away and managed someone else, it’d be a big elephant in the room to ignore.
Despite all that, I think AEW despite what they have done well with their vets, to me Flair would feel like a hood ornament plus money they don’t need to spend.

People need to understand that Tully Blanchard hasn't been a Horsemen since prior to joining the WWF back in the 80's. AEW hasn't really done anything positive with these old timers other than parade them around with people who don't even need the rub. Darby Allin doesn't need Sting. Archer doesn't need Jake the Snake. Tully's a terrible promo so why is he even there? Arn is whatever he is these days, broken down putting his son out there like Watts.

I actually agree with a lot of that. Darby in particular would have succeeded all on his own but Sting certainly isn’t bringing him down on his own. Tully isn’t really needed for FTR/Pinnacle but plenty times they’ve shown him to be a wily voice/ear in their corner like for example he outsmarted Konnan by having FTR dress up like Proud and Powerful only for FTR to beat Konnan down. Not necessarily needed but good use. Archer/Jake, the connection between them is looser and actually agree with you strongest about Archer not needing him.
I think for what they’ve already got on the vets corner it’s good and while not necessarily needed, they’ve made good use and I think they should draw a line. Flair/Tully was just a connecting example of how Flair could be used but at the end of the day he is money they need not spend and as much of a legend as he is, not a needle mover.

I’m starting to get the impression that Kazarian isn’t very good at hunting The Elite. If the Elite were his food source, he would have starved to death already.
MJF continuing to use mid is a great touch. He's extremely determined to find whatever the line is in 2021 for a heel to cross. This a decent pick-me-up feud for MJF after the Jericho program and good exposure Junior.
Lambert knows how to work the stick. He's smooth on the mic but certainly pales to MJF. That said, this was the first segment of his I enjoyed, mostly because Jericho turned back the clock to the late 90s.
AEW needs to keep working on their learning curve with the women's division.
Andrade's kingpin (fitting name) look is good, but he needs subtitles while speaking English?
Good to see Hobbs seemed to be okay after it looked like he got his bell rung last week.
Fun segment with Danielson and Omega. Nice touch and rib as Omega was wearing his version of Danielson’s merch after BD called out The Elite for being insecure by wearing flashy clothes. Seems like the easy out for the match, rather than a schmoz or DQ, is just a time-limit draw.

I think Jade Cargill has more than just the look. She's been presented so well and already feels like a star even if the ring work isn't there yet - and she's improving in that area too. I'm a big fan.
Another very enjoyable show.
- Cole/Kaz was a solid opener, as was FTR/Sydal & Martin. What happened to Mike Sydal? Maybe he's injured like the other Martin brother. They're quite a fun temporary team really.
- The MJF/Pillman and ATT/Jericho segments were hot, no doubt that both MJF and Lambert are getting great heat. Was also true for the Pinnacle during their post-match beatdown of Darby & Sting.
- Black's entrance is great. There's a whole bunch of good entrances and entrance themes in AEW now. That was something they really lacked at the beginning.
- About time they acknowledged the Gunn Club's unbeaten record, ha. That was actually a neat little vignette. Definitely ready for them to lose now.
- The Butcher & The Blade have looked good (and over) on Dark the last couple of weeks and I'm glad to see them getting a title shot.

I think they're focused on building up other people. He was apart of the first tag champs in 2019 with SCU. I think some other people would be complaining if he was being pushed over some of the younger talent, you can't make everyone happy.

So, Miro beats Fuego for the car but now it seems likely Sammy is going to end up beating Miro for the title. Thoughts?
I think Sammy's really good but I'm not sure we need another face TNT champion right now, hopefully if he is going to win it they hold off for a while. Maybe do an angle where Miro takes him out and he comes back from "injury" for a match at Revolution in November where he wins it, if that's the way they want to go. Or bring CJ in and have her help Miro cheat to win.

When you have established vets that you have to work with....but there are people getting added at the top of the card.
AEW is about to have a different set of challenges.
But the Elite Hunter moniker might not be able to last forever either.

It just doesn't work for Frankie. It's not the Elite are a bunch of youngsters. Maybe age (most are 40 and under) but they've been in the business for 15-20 years. The Elite are going over literally everyone, young, old, but Frankie Kazarian is considered the Elite Hunter but who has he taken out? Nobody.
If people are worried that he might be going over young talent, show me the young talent in The Elite? It's a nothing gimmick for a guy that was always average at best. SCU was mediocre.

Really? I was high on the idea but not so much now. I kind of like the idea of Daniel Bryan winning the title from Omega.
I could see a few scenarios in my head working well for Page though. Even a possible heel turn if need be. The fact is, AEW needs someone they can say "That's OUR guy" and despite nobody being a real AEW creation in the uppercard, Page would be someone that you could at the least say here is a guy who was lower-midcard everywhere he worked and people genuinely want to see this guy win the belt.
I think AEW wasted a good 2 years on Page and they try to pretend it was all done on purpose but it wasn't. Just like the booking of Daniel Bryan from Summerslam-WM 30, it wasn't done by design it was all by accident. They were just able to piece things together as they moved forward so it appeared to be the story all along. Page----He could've been champion already but he went the Maria Kanellis route. I truly believe he would be champion right now if he didn't dip out.

But I still think, as long as Page is back soon, that he gets the win. Even if by accident, I don't think they're ready to drop that story. I kinda see the "AEW guy" point as well.

Well hopefully when Adam Page goes to NXT 2.0 he won't blame Tony Khan for a lack of push and developing a drinking problem.
I'm with you, my money would be on Adam Page. I'm a fan of Keeney Omaga but he's no the "best bout machine" and he should be losing more than he has been. The Elite are a little too nWo post-fingerpoke of doom for me. We were so ready for Page to face Omega and go on to win the belt from the guy who hadn't been pinned in 2 fucking years. 2 years. Why?

that video is a great overview of the two year journey of hangman and the elite, but is obviously missing a lot of the actual moments that display the expressions of emotion, like the sit down interview JR does before the tag title match at revolution, which is where i've gotten the most satisfaction out of the story. this whole storyline is probably at the top of my favorites in wrestling history. unfortunately for virm, if he lived through it in real time, it'd have no doubt been too slow moving for him.

Everyone in the Inner Circle is doing their own thing, although Hager came out with Jericho last night, and MJF and Wardlow have been keeping to themselves while FTR, Spears, and Tully stick together. Maybe since they're pushing the Super Elite so hard, they decided to give some of the other factions a rest.

Tony Schiavone told the story about Adam’s Cole’s confrontation with him about Tony’s on screen friendship with Britt Baker:
“Adam got with me and said, ‘We need to address this on camera.’ I said, ‘Yea, we do.’ We talked through what we were going to say. He said, ‘I’m going to call you a nerd. Fans are going to pop because they know that I am really a nerd.’ He went out, and he told me to get out, but he didn’t say nerd. So I’m standing there, and he said , ‘Get out.’ I said, ‘Nerd (in a low voice).’ He then said, ‘Get out nerd’, so I reminded him to say nerd. We go to the back, and Tony (Khan) said, ‘You didn’t get out quick enough. If he’s threatening you, you need to get out quicker.’ I said, ‘There was a line that he was not hitting, so I was waiting for him to hit the line, nerd, so I had to tell him that.” I don’t know if it came across for me saying nerd first to him, but that’s how it went. In reality, he is one of the nicest, young men that I have met.”

Normally I’d be like “Britt needs to retain the belt longer” but after watching 13K chant for Ruby Soho, if you’re Tony Khan you have to pull the trigger, no? Britt Baker is already there, she’s literally AEW’s Charlotte Flair; the company needs to build up the division around her. A loss on Wednesday doesn’t hurt Britt Baker nearly as much as it would Ruby Soho.

AEW has a lot of connections to the Hart family as well. Bret introduced the AEW championship, Jericho used to train with the brothers after the fact, and you have Brian Pillman Jr who's dad was in the Hart Family stable with Owen.
I think if any promotion out there should be doing this it should be AEW. The only downside is the fact we'll never get any footage inside the WWE. I THINK Bret owns the Stampede library correct? So you have those old matches when Owen was young, you can probably find some NJPW stuff I assume that can be used.

A little cold coming from you Don. I wouldn't call this exploiting. I think that this will be beneficial to the Owen Hart Foundation in some way shape or form and that alone is good enough for me.
The only strange part is the very very very loose connection to Owen Hart that the company has but that's ok if it means Owen's family and those that benefit from the foundation get something positive out of this. Owen Hart was very instrumental in the style we see today and the WWE has tried for many, many years to give Owen, his family, and his fans something to be proud of and to be able to celebrate this man despite his death. It just hasn't panned out as well as many would hope.

So can they show any kind of footage of Owen? I guess we can get some Stampede stuff but holy shit that was when he was a baby in the biz. I'm also curious what kind of figures they will release. Will they have to worry about any kind of legal issues from the WWE if they make a knock off King of Harts? I know some are just so excited to see a possible Blue Blazer Owen because that gear was so amazing, who wouldn't want a figure of Owen Hart in the Blue Blazer outfit especially the Over the Edge outfit....
Very exciting.
They'll be able to use New Japan footage

“I am definitely proud of AEW, the work that I’ve done in AEW, and the work that I continue to do. And the fact that I think so much that they appreciate me that they made me a permanent commentator for Rampage, replacing Mark (Henry).

I'm sure Bret and Martha will be involved at some point in some way with personal appearances which will be good.
In a round about way this will probably be similar to what wwe does with Connors cure.

What's your favorite Owen Hart match? Mine is Bret vs. Owen from WrestleMania X.
I also love when Owen introduced Yokozuna as his tag partner at WrestleMania XI.

Read it on reddit but I could see Kevin Steen winning if he comes over and this happens after that. Or maybe he's a surprise entrant in the tournament.
How? Have you watched the Dark Side of The Ring episode? Martha was never going to let WWE use his likeness after being responsible for his death and suing her. Martha knows how much everyone loved Owen Hart the wrestler though.
Why so?
Martha inducted Owen into the wrestling hall of fame and did dark side. She doesn’t hate wrestling, she hates Vince and WWE. When she did Talk is Jericho last year and Jericho told her that she could release shirts through PWT and WWE wouldn’t see a dollar, she finally started to understand that the pro wrestling industry isn’t just WWE anymore.
Owen is one of my all-time favorites. I’m so excited to get some modern-style figures.
Just that he's pretty much a WWE guy, that's the look and moments people know. For example, its all I really have ever seen of his work. And I'm one of the older guys here.
Particularly with it looking like its not a one-time event, but an ongoing thing. Obvs his family can license to whoever they want.
Just seems atypical and potentially feeling like there's something missing for something big.
Not saying there's no chance its good. Not rooting for it to fail.

WM X was great, the steel cage match later on at Summerslam was great. Owen Hart v. HBK @ the Feb 1996 In Your House. Him and Bret v. The Steiners.
I was into the tag-team with Jeff Jarrett.

Murdered the guy. Interesting way to look at it.
For the pay-per-view ‘Over The Edge’ where the fatal accident occurred, it was decided that the stunt would be done using a ‘nautical clip’ which was "designed expressly for the quick release of a sailboat mast." It is alleged that several stunt coordinators were asked to test it, and all but one refused, declaring it "crazy."
Martha Hart:
"He was hooked up to a make-shift contraption which included a quick-release snap shackle clip meant for the sole purpose of rigging sailboats. The hook that was practically the equivalent of a paper clip released [prematurely]…and Owen fell…"
Not sure what else you call it.

Negligent homicide is a criminal charge brought against a person who, through criminal negligence, allows another person to die.[1]

Basically. I just didn't want to go back and forth about it lol. Murder is murder, an accidental negligent death isn't murdering someone idc how much you dislike the WWE.
Bert

I think what Nash is getting at is that it’s not right to say he was murdered because it wasn’t deliberate.
“In our lawsuit, we had every single top rigger in the business give us deposition and they all said how egregious and negligent the set-up was and how inappropriate the equipment was. The clip was meant for the sole use of sailboats. The whole design of it is to release on load, so they used the worst equipment and there was no redundancy. In the past, the WWE had used quality riggers to rig their stunts. The one they used was Joe Branam, who rigged everybody from Elton John to the Rolling Stones to Robin Williams. He did it the right way and Owen had no control over the stunt.
“They didn’t like the way that he was rigging Owen because they wanted him to be able to release [from the harness] when he dropped to the ground, but that isn’t possible when it’s done the right way. Joe Branam said he would not rig Owen that way, so instead they hired this hacker, Bobby Talbert, who had no business rigging anyone. Owen never questioned his safety because he assumed the company wouldn’t put him in harm’s way.
From what I remember from the DSOR episode it was essentially a carabiner designed to give way with like 10-20lbs of pressure. So what is the most likely outcome there? How could anything other than a man falling to his death possibly happen?

Oh no-one is saying it wasn’t horribly negligent and they should’ve thought it through but “murder” would be putting the tin foil hat on and saying they did it that way on purpose.

If Brock Anderson is in then you get your young version of Arn. He looks more like a clone than a son.

You know what's weird is out of all the "big" matches Kenny Omega has had in his career, why does it feel like none of them are as big as the one he's about to have with Danielson?
For me, as long as Styles is still even part time, he's the best. I would put Danielson #2 right now. On the planet. Omega v. Okada, Jericho, Mox, those were big matches no doubt. But none of them are the American Dragon. My expectations for this match are so fucking astronomical it's not even fair to either wrestler. We're about to find out who the best in AEW truly is.

Could it be because you weren't an active watcher of new Japan? Because I remember the hype for Okada/Omega 2 and 3 being insane.
Danielson is one of my top 10 all-time workers, so im looking forward to omega vs Danielson VERY much too. Omega is a great worker and easily my best in the world right now, but in terms of my overall favorites he's like my number 19 or 20.

Oh man I've been a pretty big fan of New Japan for about 30 years. I was definitely aware of the hype for Omega v. Okada matches, especially the rematches. Most people don't know and don't care about Omega and Dragon already wrestling years and years ago, the same way most people don't even know who Rainmaker is.
I do. And I don't think he's the name or the talent that Dragon is. That's not a knock that's just reality. Not everyone is as good and/or well known as everyone else in life.

Big Week of AEW action this week. Huge card I'm looking forward to.
Hoping for Hangman's return if the main event devolves into a an attack.
Fantasy booking - Maybe show the dark order groups being split up at the start of the show but they receive a message or package from the other group. Then during the beat down of Bryan Hangman music hits and he and the dark order rush the ring. Do the backstage meeting with hangman and the Dark Order group for BTE and an after match conversation with Bryan thanking them but definitely not being into joining cults from his previous experience.
