Think I speak for a lot of us when I ask if this can be tweaked in such a way that it completely removes the blocked poster's posts from the thread you're viewing. Like I don't want to know that they've even posted or even exist at all. Also can it be sorted so that any posts quoting the blocked poster are also removed or at least have the quoted bit taken out? Please. For the love of christ?

Can stuff like that be implemented? I was under the impression that you're stuck with whatever vBulletin provide.

I believe it is being looked into right now, actually. Not sure if it's possible, but a lot of people have asked for it lately.

Have you unlocked those threads yet?

I guess in theory it would only work as long as you did a proper quote with the post tag.

If you did something like this...

I believe it is being looked into right now, actually.
...it probably wouldn't.

Just realised I embarrassed myself by calling it the 'block' function and not the 'ignore' function.

I would imagine it's possible to make it so ignored posters don't show up at all instead of saying "this post is not showing up because youre ignoring so-and-so". that seems doable.

I have a hard time imagining quotes not showing up, though. idk how you would stop that tbh. in other forms I post on, quotes still show up even for blocked posters.

There is a mod for Vb but I doubt it gets integrated and I think it's not free.

If you use Firefox or chrome you can Google content blockers in your browser... not sure how perfect it is but I know it's possible. I believe you wouldn't see the response to the quoted post either though.

You could also just not read posts from people that you want to ignore.

That's just too much to ask.

Doesn't work on a phone, I tend not to even know who's post I'm reading when I'm reading a long thread as when I resize the screen to read the post I often lose the side box, so when flipping through I don't tend to know who the posts by till I look, and as mentioned you see every time they get quoted

that's kind of weird. Maybe that's unique to your phone but I never have any problems seeing who posted what. there are certain people that I tend to skim over regularly and have never had a problem Skipping over posts.

Do you lot not have an in-built ignore function in your brain ie. the ability yo just ignore the posts you don't like?

I think it's a size thing, if I've got the phone held portrait aspect then if I've got it scaled to see the left box I can't read the damn text as it's too bloody small.

I await the inevitable age joke...

Mostly the avatars or when I read the name. If you really can't resist reading someone's post then why are you ignoring them in the first place?

Ahh. Fair enough.

GBF and Simon, I dunno about you 2 but if I need to scroll through another Nash Diesel infested thread I will go insane. The ignore function has helped but he posts so much that you still need to scroll past about a million 'You cannot read this post' messages per thread. A proper block function would sort this.

I can skim past them but I honestly just don't even want to see the posts though much like if I block someone on facebook it is because I don't want to see them at all. Out of sight out of mind. I am not one to put someone on ignore just because. If I bother to do so I really don't want to see the posts.

I'm almost positive you can sort this through Firefox. I'm too lazy to check though. Maybe Cewsh can resolve.

Be brilliant if the person who offered the best advice here was blocked by wardy.
