View Full Version : FYI - Server Changes

January 6th, 2017, 9:18 AM
As some of you have noticed, the server has been wonky the last 24 hours. I think we have it solved.

It should be noted the site is no longer compatible with IE8 XP/Vista & very old versions of Android.

We consolidated a bunch of stuff, and are limited to a single IP address which requires I use SNI with SSL which is fairly new (last 5 years or so)...

Let me know if you run into any issues.

Thanks BRAH

Thanks for sorting it out. :)

Seem to be having lots of log in issues and 'server full' pages, are these a side effect?

January 11th, 2017, 1:04 PM
I'm having these same issues across multiple devices.

January 11th, 2017, 5:33 PM
Yep. Just growing pains. Shouldn't last.

All credit card numbers and bank accounts have been logged. Our new server is gonna be pimp once the updates download.

All charges are tax exempt.

Another day, another set of downtime for the UK morning folk?

why exactly?

Oh god, don't get ROM started on this. He nearly did a PG over mania never coming to England over the time zone differences.

What money? Your name must be missing from the donation sheet...

January 17th, 2017, 10:32 PM
I'm sure it wasn't free.

Yeah, it's been rocky. The people who work on this site also have full time endeavors. If this was my "day job", I'd find this all unacceptable, but as I haven't had 40++ hours a week to focus on it, there have been some glitches. Sorry. I think we've mostly out of the woods now, I'd expect a lot less downtime. The loads have been properly distributed, so everything seems pretty stable since earlier Thursday morning. It'll take a few more days to know for sure, but I think we'll get through the Rumble with flying colors.

Again, sorry for all the outages, we've done our best to avoid it.. :dunno: Shit happens, though I can it's not gone unnoticed -- and thanks for your patience.

January 20th, 2017, 6:23 AM
How come this isn't your full-time job?

January 20th, 2017, 12:41 PM
Gladly. My salary demands might be outside of our fundraising efforts. :)

January 20th, 2017, 1:33 PM
You want to be paid? What kind of crazy talk is that? ;)

January 20th, 2017, 8:20 PM
Pretty sure this actually is GBF's day job at this point.

January 26th, 2017, 4:27 PM
We've had a few days of excellent uptime. I presume this will continue...

Just got a pop up after writing a post that said rajah.com was asking for my email address.

I cancelled it, no problem, but I've never seen that before. Dunno if that might be server related or whatever, but it was odd and I figured I'd bring it up.

EDIT: Just happened again.

You probably have a virus.

Scan turned up nothing. It also hasn't happened since.

Chalk it up to a fluke I guess, just figured I'd bring it up.
