terrible fucking game. had a feeling i shouldnt play when i couldnt even complete my offensive gameplan practice in a reasonable amount of time. had zero answer for the bears on offense. no INT's, no sacks, no fumbles. cutler was 19/20 for 234 yds and 3 touchdowns. i couldn't stop a completion for my life. my run game started wonderful but i had to abandon that once they went up too much. they had a drive that lasted basically the entire second quarter to put them up 17-7, and as soon as i get the ball back with little time left in the half, bortles fumbles and chicago recovers. and because i can't stop them, they score and go up more, and get the ball first in the second half. was just a weak, weak game all around.

Don't know how that was for you but latency was absolutely shit for me. For kicks, I was pressing the button almost immediately as I started the timer and on more than one occasion, it still did it on the downswing meaning the second press didn't even register. Any time you blitzed I couldn't ever get a pass off. And then when my all 70 something rated OL held, a touch or lob pass to the outside gets thrown bullet and inside on multiple occasions. Gabbert is shit but I can't understand how he is fucking up that badly.

Then my own worst enemy, throwing to wrong receivers on a few occasions. Such a fucking idiot. Rargh.

Yep, it was bad for me as well. It's why I paused at one point after missing 2 or 3 tackles on a long TD for you - I was pissed! Kicking was guesswork at times. My centre had some dodgy holds in the first half as well on rushing first downs.

My favourite bit was where my FS (I think) took a pick and then for some inexplicable reason ran it out to the 3 yard line. I wasn't controlling it and if that was the AI, that guy has to be one of the dumbest players on my team to not just take a knee for a TB.

I'm sure EA have regional servers and it isn't just all done out of the US. FIFA is too big outside of America for them to have all of their servers there. It is anecdotal I know but I find kicking especially to be way easier if I'm playing someone in Europe than it is if I'm playing someone in another continent. Whereas the lag for me on Saturday meant that even calling plays was hard (I'd kept having to press the button twice in the play-call menu and then both would register a moment or two later, it was really frustrating).

Does the home thing make a difference? Possibly not. Torn's first attempt at a field goal on Saturday was so far wide left it disappeared off of the screen. But in the absence of knowing exactly how it works I'd suggest we stick with it on the off-chance.

It is really irritating that they broke punting in an earlier patch and haven't fixed it. The AI can't punt into the wind so if you're playing outdoors you'll often get stupidly good field positioning off of a 20 yard punt. It is almost game-breaking at this point.

Honestly he wasn't. he was given me the odd tip here and there without playing the game for me and the 27 points he scored in the 1st quarter was me just lobbing him the ball every time.

I was also blitzing too much and Alex's passing game is on point. he pretty much had to tell me to stop blitzing at one point.

By the end of the game I was trying to get my passing right as well as learning the nuances of things like taking a knee after a punt instead of running the ball. i first took a knee in thr final quarter and he basicallly shouted at me down the mic OH NOW YOU TAKE A KNEE FFS.

Alex was genuinely helpful in me learning a bit more today and at least half of his points were from me gifting him the ball within my own half.

Think about blitzing from the point of view if you are on offense. If you expect the blitz you can adjust accordingly and get the ball out fast. You can call plays that develop quickly - slants, screens, short passes, areas of the field which will be vacated by blitzing linebackers/safeties etc. You know if you go 3 or more wide then you'll have one on one matchups everywhere so there is less risk in having to pass quickly. Now think about the opposite. If your opponent is generating little pressure and drops a lot of men into coverage then you will spend more time in the pocket waiting for plays to develop and receivers to become open. This is where unpredictability comes in as you can force bad throws and bad decisions based on your opponent not being settled and able to predict what is coming next.

Unless you have Dolmeth's Seahawks to get to the QB in about 0.5 seconds or Beefy's lag then or are facing a revolving door of an offensive line, blitzing every play is unlikely to go well. Even against a poor offensive line it can be better to just get pressure from 4 men and still use the blitz more sparingly so you can drop more into coverage. You'll learn when to time them based on down and distance etc and when to mix them in with normal coverages. I still get this wrong a lot so don't worry too much, it's a big learning curve but enjoyable nonetheless. My secondary is terrible but my front 7 is pretty sweet, if I don't generate any pressure with 4 men then my secondary is likely to get beat downfield so I probably blitz more than I should.

Yeah its pretty impossible with the time you get. I probably use 3 or 4 plays on defence. The coach assistant is shite too as he only offers me a few to pick from. I really should do some research on it.

I don't like how the helper thing suggests plays because I have called it 328 times in the past - You select it early on say in preseason, and then again it came up because it said I had selected it 10 times in the past and by that point I'm fully down the rabbit hole and this play will be called for the rest of my season.

I choose from formations depending on the line-up of the opposition. Nickle if I'm playing against three wide receivers, dime if against four then it's cover three if I want to be better against the run and cover two if I think it is going to be a pass. I don't blitz very often any more.

yeah, i basically run various cover 3 plays, occasionally going to cover 4 or cover 6, and i rarely all out blitz, instead getting pressure up front with jackson and jordan. it gives me a little of everything, and i'll adjust positionally if i see a formation or line up i want to focus on.

during that last real possession of alex's, that quick corner route that he threw the pick on would've been a TD if it had gotten over that defenders head, i have no doubt. hearing he threw six picks and still managed to score 21pts and basically be in the game up until the very end was insane.

wow, almost gave that game away. i was shutting them down the whole game. they punt, it goes to the one yard, i user to the closest guy and run to it and run out the back of the end zone for a safety, cause i am an idiot and didnt know that was a thing. so now its 13-2. i immediately have to punt to them, decent field position, jamaal charles starts to go HAM and they end up getting a TD, now 13-8. they go for two and get it, 13-10 in a matter of minutes. i dont make any headway in my drive after, go for a 57yd fg amd it hits the middle post and bounces out. they drive and get a fg, all tied with less then a minute left. i drive down field, get into the red zone and let time run down, call a TO, load up a 27yd fg, andy reid ices me, load it up again and i hit it to win the game. it never should've been that close.

hurns tore his shoulder early and is out 4 weeks. brian hartline is fucking awesome, though.

I am not sure if anyone was around for the first half, but I had field goal range with time ticking. I thought I had hit the command for a spike but found myself in a play and time expired.

I also got called for intentional grounding and lost a field goal position, so I could have made that a much easier game. I am 5 on the run and I believe playoff positioned now.
