Aren't some of those traits only relevant if the CPU is controlling? Like the Force Throw one would be useless if you keep choosing to throw it to the WR covered by a LB, safety and CB.

I've focused almost exclusively on accuracy and awareness for Kessler. Think he's already more accurate than Gabbert and Kaep were. Still unsure if I am going to move on a QB in the draft though. I have so many weaknesses in the team :(

There does seem to be a very slight difference. Like if you throw into double coverage with the trait off you will more than likely be picked off easily whereas if you do have it it tends to just miss the intended target. Not all the time or anything but it does happen.

There are so many little things though that will alter a QB, I find the traits for QBs tend to alter how the controller reacts more than anything, how fast you can get the pass off and if the pad shakes under pressure.

Stafford had good stats but hardly any traits so I struggled badly with him.

You were unlucky there. Only observation I'd have though is as Mikey was setting up to run the play on 4th and 24 and an effect Hail Mary my first thought was why is Torn playing with only one safety? Call Cover Two and you've a shot at clinching the game there.

Nah it wasnt that, there were a few things. If you look at the video about half way through my strategy list just disappeared (went into 4 minute offence with one play listed..) so I had to keep going for stuff I knew. The main issue was the snow though. Sounds like an excuse (and probably is) but I genuinely could barely see my players when they did their cuts, and the bits I could see were blue like your uniforms of course! Snow batters my eyes at the best of times in this game.

Also I am no use when I lose control of the game. You know what I am like, I like to keep it close and manage the clock.

To be honest though my offence just isnt very good this season, it needs some major work and a bit of time to improve certain guys. It didnt help that I ended the season on 5 human games (well 4 as BBF didnt play I suppose) so I didnt get chance to bed my plays in properly either.

Ill be back and annoying as ever next season.

Oh I am open to offers for Tate and Stafford by the way. Stafford may be useable once my guys improve. Tate is fairly useless to me as he isnt tall, is averagely fast and all his good traits are not ones I really use. I have no doubt he would be very useful to the right type of player.

Though I could probably get better value from the CPU...

Oh and a stupid one, I cant settle on a camera angle I like. In my head I prefer the birds eye view but I have more success in the next one down like I used last season (the default one I think).

AFC is all north american people, so i'd say pick from there, unless youve got your heart set on an NFC team. i'd also say try and pick from the north or east division since the other two divisions already have two users in them. We've advanced. This is the one shot to re-sign your players. A couple of pieces of advice I'd give about this is that, as you may have spotted during the season if you've had the chance to re-sign a player is that the total value of the contract you're offering is the wage + the bonus x the number of years.

This caught me out in my first go because I assumed that the bonus was a one off payment and ended up giving a bunch of jabronies four or five times hte amount of guaranteed money than I'd intended to.

You only get one shot at signing a player at this stage. If they don't agree to sign then they will enter free agency next week. Mid-ranking players seem more open to being low-balled at this stage too, which makes sense. Better the devil you know and all that.

If you can't sign someone you should be able to franchise tag one player and keep them for next season against their will. I need to work out how as I've got that situation with my left guard.

We tried to put in place rules this year after the widespread raping of AI rosters we saw in our Madden 16 League but it was difficult to get agreement on what the exact rules were or on how to police them so we just went with a general 'don't be a dick' rule. Hopefully you can rebuild around what has been left.

The only rule we have got really is not using QB Sneak. Go for it on 4th down all you want but that play was pretty much money every time it was used last year and getting rid of it has worked quite well.

I mentioned this in one of the Twitch chats the other day but I'm turning off Illegal Block in the Back. I hate the over-use of the rule in both Madden and real-life and kick returns are hard enough as it is without them being chalked off because of one clumsy AI player running into another clumsy AI player 30 yards away from the ball.

If you go into your salaries page it shows you the salary cap, the amount you're currently spending, your cap penalty for this season and the amount set aside for the draft class and the amount you have to spend should be the first one minus all the rest.

5am is a little too early on New Year's Day! 7am (6pm) is fine although could probably do 6am. I doubt we need two hours for third free agency and week four so I will probably just set an alarm for near the end of this time period to finish it off quickly - we will all have our targets set. As long as we advance to the period where combine stats are in to enable us to work out who we want to draft in the next few days before this then it will be all good.

I don't have a first round pick!!!! I started the game with very little draft capital and roster compared to mostly everyone. I told you why I was going to swing one trade like this already.
