There's a new Friday the 13th game coming out in September, and I'm amped about it.

I'll check this game out. If it's at least half as fun as using Jason in Mortal Kombat X, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

Man I've been waiting like 30 years almost for a Friday the 13th game that I could make it through the first 3 minutes without getting killed so fingers crossed!!!

Posted about this in the news and notes video game thread.

I'm hyped. Really like the gameplay ideas, etc. Developers that actually interact with the fans.

I've beaten Friday the 13th. That video is kinda cheap because the hints in the game aren't specific enough so getting the torch like that is not something you're likely to cess out on your own. And Jason's mom is a bitch. Getting the sweater is a serious gamble. I prefer to just skip to the part where I chase him outdoors and beat him to death while praying he leaves the kids alive. A Fair fight with Jason on D2 is a tall order requiring true mastery of the system (you have to dodge BEFORE he strikes so you can dodge again for the second attack) or gross sums of luck. D3 it's just suicide.

New Jason though. I'm down!

Gameplay. Beta out soon.

Looks really fun to me and intense. Some interesting 80s horror cliches as mechanics. There are some things to nitpick, but since this only displays counselor side gameplay, I won't judge too much until I see Jason gameplay. Also the Jason's will differ in strength, depending on entry. Part 3 Jason was very humanish, ran, etc. Every Jason will probably have different strengths and weaknesses.

New Savini Jason reveal.

He looks like what I would imagine Jason should've looked like after Freddy brought him out of hell to start Freddy vs. Jason. Not with a damn coat. He would look like he does here. On fire, burnt, still having a lot of the wear and tear of earlier films.

We almost bought this game until the guy was like "You do know this is an online only game right?" Nope. I've never been fully down with online gaming. I don't care about playing with some dude in Russia.

You know what, I bet the dude didn't even know that they did an update where you were able to play an offline version of the game. To be honest, now that I think of it, I think we attempted to buy the game well before that Offline mode was even available. Looks like that was just updated back in late December, this was the weekend of Black Friday when we went.

I'd like a storyline game, where let's say you start the game as a new summer counselor. Could do each level as each movie, where Jason gets harder and harder to kill as you progress. Throw in some original stories too. Am I weird in saying that

I believe a story mode is coming out fairly soon

See a few posts up if you're referring to the "offline mode" then that just dropped back in December.

Someone on Amazon is selling the NES version used for like $4. If it wasn't so fucking difficult I'd snatch it up, it's on my wish list.
