Anyone have a real solution to this BS?

Aye this is brutal and very difficult to remove completely. Try one of these: http://www.techworld.com/security/7-best-ransomware-removal-tools-how-clean-up-cryptolocker-cryptowall-extortion-malware-3626974/

I read that article yesterday. It seemed to deal more with prevention than with actual removal of the ransomware. I left another virus scan running last night and in a few minutes I'll see the results. I'll probably have to pay a ransom to the antivirus people rather than to the clowns that spread the virus.

I can't guarantee this will work with the specific infection you have, but it's the program I've heard the most about as a potential solution.

I read that and it wasn't actually helpful. I ran, of all things, the Microsoft security suite that's in Win7. It found the little bastard and actually killed it. I've been getting rid of all the leftover stuff, corrupted files, spreadsheets etc.
I copied and pasted most of my excel pages and renamed them then deleted the corrupted ones. I deleted a couple hundred documents with the .micro tag and restored them from backups. The rest is reinstalling software from the server. This bitch left traces all over the frigging place. I've had less work destroying self replicating malware that ran across the network...
I'd like to know where the bastard came from in the first place but that's impossible as it probably was a time bomb and could have been sitting for months undetected.
