Anyone been keeping up with the Godus kerfuffle this week?

RPS started it off with this article:

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/02/09/oh-godus-what-the-hells-going-on/

And then Eurogamer went and found the guy who won Curiosity.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-02-12-devolver-honours-molyneuxs-broken-promise-to-curiosity-winner

And today, RPS posted a horrendous car wreck of an interview with Molyneux.

I backed the game originally and was let down by it, but that's my own damn fault for believing the hype.

Molyneux. What else needs to be said?

I love the godgame genre actually and was always disappointed that nobody ever seemed to get it quite right. Black and White was pretty decent for back in the day, though obviously nothing like what it was supposed to be, and after the first level it kind of loses its luster.

EDIT: "Do you think you're a pathological liar?"

Cunt

Edit: To elaborate on that, I always thought little of Molyneux, but there's so many things in this that just reveal that I dislike him. Even if you have affection for him trying, he just plays it so everything lands in his favour. I don't have affection for him trying, though, everyone can have ideas.

The interview itself gets quite sad as it becomes a litany of "that's not what I said" "that's not what we meant" "nuh-huh!".

Apparently The Guardian said this:

Peter Molyneux has admitted regret and culpability; he was clearly in distress throughout the interview – an interview he told us would will be his last. An hour before publication, however, we discovered that he had spoken to the gaming news site Rock, Paper, Shotgun the day before, and had given their interviewer the same impression – that he would no longer be speaking to the press (that interview is now online). He has also spoken to at least one other site, seemingly on the same afternoon as our discussion. Another trail of broken assurances.

Phenomenal interview. I'd love to hear more about how brainwashed and bribed John Walker is from some cretins. Molyneux, you can see that he's under pressure but it's completely self manufactured. You can repeatedly catch him striving for sympathy, but it backfires. Even the stuff about working a lot, that's your own doing, that. He cannot be realistic with himself and his alleged non lies always come up in his favour. And now he has to be accountable at large and not just manipulate someone at the publisher.
