Anyone playing this shit?

My brother's been into it for months and I downloaded it but never did anything beyond the tutorial. So the other night I've got nothing to do and fire it up to see what's going on and the next thing I know two hours have passed and I didn't realize it.

Shit's addictive.

If anyone here plays, we should form a Rajah clan. I'm close to getting my clan castle up and running so I'm just about ready to go there.

Started playing this a few months back. Its pretty addictive, as you guys say. But it's one of those modern mobile games that requires you to constantly be checking up on it like 2-3 times a day to stay on top of things.
I personally started to get annoyed with how you'd get raided daily and how you could so easily forget to check up on the game.

It just takes up too much of your time, and the game doesnt really allow you to take a break from it. The worst thing about that is that there were multiple games like this that I was trying to play. I had to eventually pick one to stick with. I went with Final Fantasy Record Keeper, which is awesome if you're an FF fan.

I honestly don't mind, but I have a feeling that in a couple of weeks, ill hate checking in on it. I got sick of playing Angry Birds Transformers for that very reason.

I think it's after you start forgetting to check, is when it'll become annoying. I'm not sure if its something to do with the level your account is on or how far you've progressed, but the game starts off a bit relaxed on the raids and then it gradually started to happen more often as my clan base grew. The whole building aspect is fun, but you eventually reach a point where it becomes more about the battling, which is where it became necessary to log into the game more often. I think its a fair bit easier if you join a large clan where people are sharing units, which basically shares the workload a little.

Yeah, looks like the more trophies you get, the more easily you're targeted.

He's right though. These are not games, more like carefully crafted social constructs built around the sole objective of getting you to part with money. There's no skill involved, its all set around a bunch of arbitrary boundaries you can get past by paying for them.

It's not as harsh as you're making it sound, but its sort of the general idea of the games. But it also depends on the game you're playing too. Some games completely restrict your progress and push you towards having to pay to enjoy the game, but then there are others that pretty much give you the whole game experience for free and only require you to pay if you want to "cheat" your way past a certain point in the game.

Clash of Clans has never felt like the kind of game I had to spend even a penny on, but then again I've never really played it through to the more advanced stages of the game.

IF most players are anything like me who I attack is a combination of how easy it looks to beat your base and how much gold an elixir you have. I've only been at this since about Thanksgiving mind you but even when I started if it looked like I could throw five giants and ten archers and get at least one star I'd do it, but if it looked like I might lose you better have at least enough elixir to cover the expense of attacking you.

My problem seems to be that I can't find a clan that isn't shit so I keep ending up with. . .I think that's arabic but I'm not familiar with every alphabet on the planet. I'm just pretty sure I was working with ISIS to take down some Nazi's about a month back. And I know they were nazis cus their bases were all swatikas. And surprisingly obnoxious to invade since without a solid wall my troops (giants especially) just start walking towards places you know are filled with traps and not to mention take a long time to walk around while they get shot to hell. If they'd just punch the wall for a second I'd bomb it open. GRRRRR.

I find that the key with this game is ultimately the same as any game with timers. You simply have to set it to your schedule to the best of your ability and ignore the crap you can't control. All my buildings end either at 8am or 8pm. So I'm eating breakfast or settling in for primetime. If it falls off those hours I aim for the am side since I might check in at lunch or something.

So far I haven't spent any money on this but I can see why impatient people might or people who didn't think of it as a time sink like I do.

You can get by just fine without spending money, so long as you're patient. There's no level or accessory restriction requiring you to spend money. And there is plenty of skill involved in arranging an attack and protecting your resources.

Might as well just call every game a waste. They all cost money and time.

Addicted to this now. I used to slag it off saying it took no skill blah blah but it obviously does. As stated above, you don't need to spend a penny but it would be a massive help and they must make a fortune off folk wanting extra builders.

A few months in and man I think I got myself in too deep. Bastards keep throwing troops I can't even access at me in numbers I can't match.

I have a Clan in Royale but I think it's been overrun by a bunch of kids.

I play regular CoC more. My clan is level 18 now. Still playing daily.

I gave up on CoC years ago. Just staled at one point and could move past where I was.

i got Rip into my Clan on Royale. We’re a good clan and could always use more people with the new war former they’re introducing

Fired up CoC and remembered what I hated about this game: everything takes foooooorever to do. 4 days to upgrade something? Fuuuuuck the fuck off

Jarrod1983
August 9th, 2020, 11:15 AM
Ha, yeah imagine how I feel being in the 14 day upgrade range. They make it easier though with instant upgrade things you get for doing war leagues and clan games which are probably new to you. They cut down a lot of waiting but there are sometimes you need to wait. I'm in too deep to quit now though.

It def seems like they made a lot of changes since I last played. But I think I’ll stick to Royale
