A bit surprised we don't already have a thread for this (or maybe we do and I dun fukd dis shit up). I'm sure we've all come across some great work from fans at some point, whether it be artwork or fan made remakes/sequels. So maybe we could use this place to bring it to people's attention and discuss some of the stuff posted here.
There are a few fan made game projects I've been following but I'll start with this Metroid 2 remake that I recently came across.
Project AM2R
It's a Metroid 2 remake made using GameMaker Studio for windows. The idea was the remake the old Gameboy classic using SNES and GBA sprites, in the same way the first Metroid game was brought back to life with Metroid: Zero Mission.
I've given the demo a quick bash (link at the bottom) and have to admit, its pretty impressive. The game visuals, movement physics, etc feel just like the originals, and it has native support for the Xbox 360 controller too. :yes:
The dev's been working on this project for a few years but it's getting more frequent updates on his site lately, so we could see a full release soon.
