My go:

Mignolet

Johnson Lovren Sahko Bertrand

Gerrard

Coutinho Henderson

Sterling

Sturridge Bony

Subs:

Reina
Agger
Flanaghan
Can
Lallana
Markovic
Lambert

We'll miss Luis but that bench looks a million times better

MMH

Surely you are not spending a combined 50M on Lallana and Markovic to have them on the bench?

RFF Champ
July 14th, 2014, 6:11 PM
Brendan Rodgers signing on the bench? Nah, doesn't happen.

RuneEdge
July 14th, 2014, 6:14 PM
Surely you'd have a front trio of Lallana, Sturridge and Sterling together.

The Rosk

Honestly couldn't tell you. Our signings look like a string of Allardyce cast offs ffs.

Joe Cole
Philippe Senderos
Kieran Richardson
Ki Sung Yeung

Assuming someone snaps up Vlaar, that means our team would look like this:

Guzan

Bacuna
Okore
Senderos
Richardson

Delph
Westwood
Ki

Weimann
Benteke
Agbonlahor

Subs: Clark, Baker, El Ahmadi, Lowton, Cole, Gardner, Grealish

Get your money on us going down. Look at that pile of shit.

I think Markovic will be eased in and Lallana will rotate with Hendo and Coutinho. It could be any of the three that start.

Didn't realise Villa had signed Ki. Good signing.

Still seems a lot of money for a player to be eased in and a rotator. I suppose if you stick with what you have got it could be Sterling Sturridge and Lallana as a three up front.

What do you reckon of your proposed defence? I must admit it doesnt look much of an improvement to me. Is Lovren really any better than Agger or Skrtl for that matter? All decent defenders of a similar level I reckon.

Can is an interesting one. Could be a great signing him, just depends if he will get the games.

I don't think I could even begin to predict it now, not even the formation. probably 4-2-3-1, but could easily be 4-3-3

I think (hope) we're bringing in two new starters.

Moyes didn't fancy Kagawa or Hernandez, but loved Welbeck. Chich obviously doesn't have a starting place (in a 4-2-3-1 formation) but I hope he's given a bigger shot that Dave game him.

Hardly rocket science tbh, just taking out Wisdom from last season and putting Christie in.

Rodgers for some reason doesn't rate Agger. But yeah i don't think Lovren is a huge upgrade on what they've already got either.

Saying that it's an upgrade on Caulker who they've also been linked with.

Cant really say with our team yet. Its hard to guess who Martinez will bring in but based on rumours and stuff looks like we will be going with a very similar team to last season.

Did Carney use to play for Blackpool? If so I've heard of him.

Yep. Started his youth at Everton but never played, had stints at Sheffield United, Norwich and Blackpool.
Madaschi played for 3 seasons in Scotland with Partick Thistle and Dundee
Jaliens is a former Dutch international, played at the 2006 WC... 400ish games in Eredivisie and a title with AZ Alkmaar.

The rest... eh. Ecuadorian international upfront, Northern Ireland international with Jonny Steele... but most of the rest of them are just young Australian players. Some of them have played a bunch of U19/U21/U23 games, a handful even have a Socceroo appearance in friendly games. But complete nobodies outside of Australia.

Cech / Courtois... Still don't know what is going on here.

Azpi
Cahill
Terry
Luis

Matic
Fabregas

Willian
Oscar
Hazard

Costa

Then my guess for the rest of the squad:
Schwarzer, Ivanovic, Zouma, another left back?, possibly an experienced CM like Tiago, Ramires, Mikel, van Ginkel, Salah, Schurrle, Torres, Lukaku/Ba

So loans or transfers for: Cech / Courtois, Atsu, van Aanholt, Piazon, Marin, Moses, Omeruo, Chalobah, McEachran, Bertrand, Romeu, Ba / Lukaku, Pasalic

Romford Pele

Karl Darlow

Eric Lichaj (currently injured still)
Jack Hobbs (Currently injured still)
Kelvin Wilson (Currently injured still)
Chris Cohen (Currently injured still)

(Jamal Lascelles as reserve but yeah he is injured too)

David Vaughan
Henri Lansbury
Andy Reid

Jamie Paterson
Jamie Mackie
Matty Fryatt/Lars Venjik

No idea on formation or when any of the players that Davies broke will be fit again.

We should end up with this:

Mignolet/Reina

Johnson/Flanaghan Lovren/Skrtel Sahko/Agger New LB/Enrique

Gerrard/Can/Lucas

Coutinho/Ibe Henderson/Allen

Markovic/Remy Sturridge/Lambert Sterling/Lallana

Good depth but we're missing that consistently excellent player needed for a title challenge.

Leaving out Douglas and McEachran there and I guess they could easily start over Austrian bloke/Dallas/maybe Toums. Many central midfielders.

Trippier - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose

??? - Bentaleb

Kane

That will almost certainly be our starting eleven, we will sign a first-choice midfielder but don't know who yet. Assuming we keep Lloris, the rest of the side is more or less set in stone as we're not actively trying to replace anyone else and most of them don't have much competition for their place - if Walker pulls his finger out then he and Trippier should fight for right back, but everyone else is likely to be clear-cut.

I think either Delph or Sanchez will be pushed forward a bit, but I expect that he may even go down the winger route if we go for Townsend as is rumoured. Grealish could very easily play on that left wing cutting in

Simon
July 14th, 2015, 7:51 AM
I honestly hope you don't sign Townsend even though I want rid. You've suffered enough. I'm not even saying that to be funny or piss-taking, he is one of the most infuriating players I have ever seen. Take away penalties and in the past two years he's scored two goals (and one of them was a cross which evaded everyone). Now think of how many shots he's had.

Not a fucking clue as it stands as we seem to be selling off every half decent player and not actually trying to sign anyone apart from Andre Gray.

Never mind though we've bought in Wilson Palacios on a 2 week trial.

Andre Gray is vicious, he'll have a season in the Championship soon where he'll score bundles. Plus he looks like Detective Sydnor.

Torn
July 15th, 2015, 4:31 AM
I have no idea who that is but I googled him and I thought I googled Andre by mistake.

After adjusting to the standard of football he had a purple patch through Christmas, he was looking tired before his goal against Derby seemed to bring him back to life. We had no other option upfront especially after Long got hurt so was pretty much ran into the ground by the time the season was over. He's going to cost a lot of money if Hull want him. He can turn his man better than anyone I've seen in the division and his surprising strength along with his pace causes defenders no end of problems. Got into an argument with someone leaving Griffin Park after the Boro playoff game who was spouting off about how he isn't good enough and Warbs blew it by not wanting to replace him with someone in January. Was quite unbelievable. Negatives - his finishing does need work, his touch can fail him and he cannot head the ball to save his life.

That Watford goal is exactly what Gray is about. I think Gray was absolutely perfect for Brentford's set-up last season. The amount of goals and long range ones at that, that Dallas and co were able to score were down to excellent technical ability but also defenders know they can't leave Gray alone for a second because of the intensity in his game, which opened up space.
