I hope it's a sequel to City, which I think it is. That line at the beginning about your fears could easily be in reference to Scarecrow and everybody seemed in agreement that he probably has a container of Titan and and there were plenty of little clues tossed around in City to suggest that he is just fine, he just decided not to play. (Unless you found that super secret container, which I did not I looked it up on Youtube, I can't even 100% that game. There are a few Riddler Trophies I just can't do)

It is a sequel to city, according to ign, but Harley out of mourning made it look like another prequel.

Or worse, Joker alive. I've had a theory for a while that I picked up on some Forum where Joker somehow faked his death, or got his hands on some magical green goo that's known to bring people back from the dead and his entire plot was about getting Batman to break him out of Arkham City cus what's a better joke than that?

Don't get me wrong, I'll be pissed but comic Joker has come back from so much that the trope for bad guys just won't die is Joker Immunity. Here's hoping for a game without Joker if for no other reason than I think (especially with the success of Arrow as a tv show) maybe DC needs to give Ollie a game, or Huntress. Or hell if you're feeling boldish Captain Marvel. I don't blame Rocksteady for Arkham Origins, but with it that's giving us two games separated by what's likely to be less than a year. DC however is SO hung up on Batman that none of the rest of their library is at all viable. By contrast Marvel at least has the entire cast of the Avengers perhaps minus Black Widow and Hawkeye who could carry a film or several on name brand, and Spiderman, and the X-Men and the Fantastic Four can kinda hold their own and other than nobody really thinks of Blade as a comic character etc etc. Short version being I don't want Arkham to go the same route Guitar Hero did, I genuinely enjoyed those games and awesome as this looks. . .

Did not expect to see Penguin, Two Face and Harley Quinn working together...
Penguin, Two Face and Joker all hated each other...

It seems like Joker's death has opened the door for reconciliation and collaboration...

Seems like a heavy emphasis on the Batmobile...
Could we be seeing Batmobile gameplay incorporated into the Arkham games?
Perhaps...

I just read it will be the final Arkham game. Whaaaa? Do they plan on moving to Gotham after this one? No way they drop the franchise altogether.

The Doc

Apparently Akrham Knight does not refer to Batman but to some new character made specifically for the games. He's supposed to be someone who can meet Batman on fairly equal terms.

been confirmed that the batmobile will be 'playable,' with wider streets amongst the open world map. you'll be able to eject into a glide from it, and it comes equipped with rockets and stun capabilities.

this game is going to be gotham proper, from what the first details suggest. map is 5x larger than arkham city, and the batmobile is playable. takes place a year after arkham city.

it's perhaps that rocksteady wants to close out their involvement and their story and move on, kinda like bungie eventually did with halo. after seeing that this game will be next-gen exclusive, it totally painted arkham origins as a stop-gap game for the last gen who may not be quick to adopt the new consoles, but upon hearing rocksteady might be moving on, i think origins was probably more about setting up a studio to take over the franchise once this is out by getting their feet wet.

Morrison

Apparently Akrham Knight does not refer to Batman but to some new character made specifically for the games. He's supposed to be someone who can meet Batman on fairly equal terms.

indeed. he's being described as a 'militarized' version of batman who has the arkham 'A' symbol emblazoned on his chest. rocksteady has been a good protector and narrator of the batman lore, so i'm glad it seems they're looking to maybe introduce a new villain into the gallery. i have faith it will be compelling, but i hope it isn't a bait and switch where it turns out to be an old foe, like black mask and joker in origins. an old ally might work. hush wouldn't surprise me, since his name was being linked as the major villain for this game, but was nowhere to be found.

some more info:
- next gen hardware allows for 50 or more on screen characters at once.
- no multiplayer.
- no load times whatsoever, so entering buildings is completely seamless.
- batmobile can be called with the push of a button and basically bulldozes everything in it's way. there will be riddler challenges specific to the batmobile.
- all voice actors from arkham city will be back, with kevin conroy as batman.
- quick fire gadgets can be used while flying.
- new moves like throwing an enemy into another enemy.
- predator takedowns can be chained together.

really exciting possibilities here. not sure exactly what the chaining of predator takedowns will work out to, but being able to queue up a few take downs before going into action should be satisfying as all hell.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing the Arkham Knight is Protocol 11...
Hugo Strange clearly had a contingency plan in case he failed. Protocol 11 involved blowing up his headquarters, TYGER returning to Arkham Island and...?

...Creating the perfect criminal killer in Batman's image? Is it a clone? A cyborg? Both?

such a shame it's pushed back to next year :(

but id rather a polished game then an origins

The Doc
June 5th, 2014, 4:08 AM
I actually don't mind the pushback. I mind a lot more that it's next gen, I kinda like getting my trilogies/systems on one system. Don't get me started on the fact that I have games for systems I don't own and had to borrow or play at friends house so I could get through some games. . . talking bout you Kingdom Hearts! Fucking PSP game. The fuck is the matter with you?! Also if Kingdom Hearts three doesn't hit before we have a new President I'm going to jail. But not after I go on a rampage from Disney World to Square Enix headquarters.

On the game as long as the plot twist isn't Joker I'm fine. And this from someone who has a long standing theory that Joker totally played the shit out of us and not only survived (Via the Lazarus Pit we know was literally like fifty feet from where he was standing) but that the real purpose of his death was to get Batman to break him out. That's right, Batman broke Joker out of jail.

Was the last one really that bad? I keep hearing alternate opinions that range from it's terrible nobody should play this game to, it's terrible. . .if you hold it next to Arkham City but if you can find it cheap or need your fix it'll get you through. And some say it's buggy as hell and some say it's buggy. . .but unless you really planned on getting all those Riddler Trophies you're only gonna hit one or two glitches. I just can't get a fix on it. Which is odd.

TimeSplitter

It's worth playing through, but is a step down from City. Still a good play though.

Bill Casey
June 6th, 2014, 8:38 PM
It's a solid 7/10 game...
Nothing groundbreaking like Rocksteady's games have been...

It's basically more of Arkham City, which isn't a bad thing. WBM knew their limits and didn't try to do too much to change the formula. They only added a handful of features to the gameplay, and the game mostly just plays the same as City. I had more glitches in Arkham City than Origins, but I never installed the Multiplayer...

Personally, I love the crap out of Arkham Origins...

so latest news is that arkham knight is going to be rated M, making it the first batman game to get that designation.

clearly this is going to be a dark game, but i wonder exactly what content there is that pushed it into an M rating. you'd have to think it must have some significance if they couldn't/wouldn't compromise down into a T rating. but then again, i dont know exactly what the parameters are for each rating tier to begin with.

MATURE
Content is generally suitable for ages 17 and up. May contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.

It could be for the swears, excess blood and/or graphic injury stuff or anything related to drugs/sex that's a bit too explicit (such as boobs/penis on show).

Rating Summary: This is an action-adventure game in which players primarily assume the role of Batman as he battles several villains spreading chaos across Gotham City. Players traverse a variety of locations around Gotham while battling thugs, examining crime scenes, and occasionally rescuing hostages. Players engage in melee-style combat using punches, kicks, and gadgets (e.g., batarangs, explosives). Enemies cry out in pain when struck, and some takedowns are highlighted by brief slow-motion effects and loud impact sounds. Some sequences allow players to use tank-like vehicles with machine gun turrets and rockets to shoot enemies; a vehicle's wheels are also used to torture an enemy in one sequence. Cutscenes depict characters getting shot (on and off camera) while restrained or unarmed. Large bloodstains/pools of blood appear in crime scenes and in the aftermath of violent acts; one room depicts a person torturing a character on a bloody operating table. During the course of the game, players can shoot unarmed characters and a hostage. Neon signs in a red-light district read “live nude girls” and “XXX.” The words “b*tch,” “gobsh*te,” and “a*s” appear in the dialogue.

UPDATE: Batman: Arkham Knight has a new "dual play" mechanic, Warner Bros. has confirmed.

This sees the player "switch seamlessly" between Batman and his allies, including Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman in "free-flow combat".

So, no co-op, then, as some took the trailer below to indicate, but exciting nonetheless.

Sounds like an interesting new feature, I was slightly concerned that this game would end up being City+Batmobile but this could mix things up and give those of us who are well versed with the series something new to learn.

They said they delayed it for "vision", so here's my theory on it...

They've planned a crapton of DLC, and they plan on releasing one every month, which is basically impossible if they haven't been working on it. So they may have pushed the game back so they could work on the dlc, and there's not a giant lull between the game and the dlc coming out, which is what typically happens. The game comes out, and then by the time the dlc comes out, most people have moved on...

So basically, the game comes out and then every month there's something new for the following six months...

I know it's not going to happen in a game like this, but I'd love it if it went to some completely different finish if you were playing as Catwoman (a borderline baddie), with a different boss and all. It sounds like there are sections of the game where Batman joins an ally, and then you switch between them while being able to perform double team moves...

Just from the trailer, Batman & Robin are fighting Harley Quinn, Batman & Nightwing are taking on Penguin, and Batman & Catwoman have to deal with Riddler Robots. Catwoman also has an electronic collar on her, presumably placed on her by The Riddler. I can't help but notice all of the tandem combat footage is interior...

stayed up all night after getting off work and played for 7 hours. 24% through the main story, 11% overall. absolutely loving it. my biggest worry was the batmobile after reading some reviews, and it can be a bit clunky, but i find the combat fun and a nice change of pace, especially after switching the control scheme for it to toggle battle mode instead of needing to keep the left trigger pressed the entire time. oddly, braking fornme is an issue. brake and reverse are the same button, and i feel like the brake animation isnt long enough, so im constantly going into reverse too often when trying to stop somewhere specific.

really digging the story so far. loving the arkham knight and his demeanor.

touches like when you go into the maximum security evidence room at the GCPD, and youre checking out all the cool supervillain evidence they have on display, and you get to the talia display and batman gets all sad are great. also love that the access point for scanner in the clocktower is a replica bust statue of shakespeare from the 1960's tv show that served as the switch to the entrance of the batcave.

the first big plot twist, with joker now appearing to batman after barbara is kidnapped as part of his psyche, is great. going about you business in gotham only to turn around or grapple up to a rooftop to find him sitting there waiting for you, ready to comment on what's going on and batman's thought process and internal struggle, is a tremendous way to keep him in the game but not as the central, driving force behind all of the shenanigans going on within the city. the concept of joker and batman as two sides of the same coin is always toyed with, and this might be one of the best interpretations of that theory yet. loved the recreation of the killing joke scene, sans the implied rapey vibes.

and love that they've gotten gordon to turn on batman. there's definitely some 'over the edge' vibes, though i doubt they go with an all out war between bats and gordon, even if that would be tremendous. bane showing up as a hired gun by gordon, omg yes.

the storyline of jokers tainted blood managing to get out into the public despite batman and gordon's best efforts and infecting 5 people, turning them into varying degrees of joker is a cool twist. henry adams being immune and batman keeping him prisoner against his will to find a cure is a nice concept to play with. considering batman was infected with jokers blood in city, i imagine he's the fifth person that he said would 'be here soon...' despite the cure he took. interesting developments.

so glad to have scannable riddles back. forgot how much i love those. and it's nice getting some more backstory from the 9 months between city and knight in the gotham city stories section. im sure the prequel comics tackled a bunch of that, though.

the pick up of the 'creature of the night' case with man bat scared the fuck out of me. wonderful bit of jump scare tactics there.

Got the game, installed everything but want to wait until I have a nice free block of time before starting. Was too tired to play video games last night and felt it would be a waste to start it like that. Also factoring in that I'm probably three weeks from surgery and kind of want to wait until after so I'm all hopped up on goofballs and painkillers and not really able to do anything else. When Asylum came out, I had just had severe burns to my arm and all the painkillers I was on made the Scarecrow bits the best things ever. Kind of want that duplicated. I had friends come over then to check on me/hang out and I still hear about how they walked in and I was sitting there on the floor chuckling like a loon as Scarecrow's gassing you. Loved it.

With City I rushed in so quickly that I played it without Catwoman. Don't remember if my internet was down or if I just needed to play that bad. In that case, I kept playing all night and heard Joker singing over the credits as the sun rose. Couldn't put it down and kind of want some slot like that in my schedule for that.

I also figured putting it off could let me finish up Ass Creed 4 which I finally played through. Little did I know the final chapter was just a cutscene...

couple more hours and so much more to love.

havent advanced the story much at all, but just picking up on side things, like tethered down character balloons from the cancelled halloween parade being a girl pretty blatant batman 89 reference. and when in wayne tower, being able to listen to bruce's voicemail messages from vicki vale, lex luthor, katherine kane and joker makin pranks calls as thomas and martha wayne now that he knows that batman is bruce wayne. also got excited while flying through the heavily armored third island of the city and gliding right past a giant lexcorp building.

i think my game might be a bit buggy, as im constantly finding that its raining heavily while im indoors sometimes. particularly the clocktower and wayne tower, so far. i thought maybe it was supposed to be that way, given some story elements, but i watched a youtube video of the wayne tower section and it wasnt raining in the office. weird and kinda minor, but worth bringing up.

It's hard for me to say as I'm very much mid game, but I like the story bits as much or more than in the other games. It would make no sense or hold no meaning to me without the other two games, but the story is ace so far. I'm getting the hang of the Batmobile and it's definitely better after upgrading it a bit and swapping the controls but there tend to be bits where you have to drive it for ten minutes across the city when I'd rather just hit the next point in the story.

This is all stuff that may well play much better on my next run—knowing the map better, Mako controls, etc. Right now I don't know the map at all despite playing a good deal and I'm VERY used to knowing every nook and cranny of Asylum and City. Even with Origins, I knew the whole map since they just stole everything from City.

As for glitches, it's frozen twice on me. I'm playing on PS4 but it froze once at the very end (I'm talking right at the finish line with one second to go) of a Riddler race challenge and then again with Batman in mid flight. In the case of the second one, it wouldn't let me close the game and eventually froze up the PS4 complete. Even holding the off sensor didn't shut it off so I had to unplug the system and replug.

Atty
June 28th, 2015, 12:49 AM
Ok, some thoughts on the endings. Goes without saying, but please don't click this until you're done.

The first ending is the only I've gotten so far. I watched the other two on youtube as I didn't want to spend four more hours wrapping up sidequests to see them tonight.

The first is absolutely the right closure to this series. Batman is revealed to the world, shows no fear and breaks Scarecrow. The final level as Joker is probably my favorite bit of the series. Actually, not much maybe to it. Fantastic ending and it's great to see the series close with a proper Joker battle. Loved how you kept drifting away as Joker (third person to first person) and it was just fantastic. Batman conquers his demons and rather than be broken by the reveal, he breaks biggest enemies (Scarecrow, Arkham Knight and Joker.) And the final boss battle is in your head. Brilliant.

The Knightfall ending is going to piss people off who don't finish all the Riddler stuff. Combined with the 100% ending, it's perfectly fine with Batman now truly striking from the shadows with Bruce "dead" in the eyes of everyone. Also really dug the vibe that he had Scarecrowed the two goons before taking them down. The fear they had at seeing a ghost was the same that Crane had when he was broken. Great final ending, but I suspect a lot of people will only see up to Knightfall.

Like Mass Effect 3, it's one of those games where you kind of have to "learn how to play it." Getting the sidequests all done up front makes the end proper. Seeing the last two ending bits hours, days or even weeks later hurts the impact of the whole thing. In Mass Effect 3 you had to do side missions as you play and would miss them completely by progressing the main story if you didn't do them—this kind of feels like that to me.

The Batmobile is fine. The only real issue I have with it is the chase missions where I just can't drive the thing well enough at high speeds to not be frustrated by it. The Firefly ones in particular stand out in this regard. It gets mentioned as a negative for good reason, but it really wouldn't stand out if you weren't forced to use it so much. It's really best looked at as another tool in the utility belt.

I figured Jason Todd early enough that I found it frustrating that Brucie didn't in the game. Not a major point, but it seemed really on the nose that it was him. Still, I guess he did know since his Scarecrow infected brain kept feeding him images of Jason, so he knew on some level. Ok, never mind that complaint—it was actually amazing. On that note, how Scarecrow's stuff is used in this game is utterly fantastic. I kept thinking that there weren't Asylum-like Scarecrow sections until I realized that it all was. You kept seeing stuff throughout the game (after marching into the gas at Ace Chemicals) that is probably in your head, even when not obvious. That'll be cool on replay to study and analyze what all was real.

Joker was perfect in this. He's in your head. Thinking about how much of it was your infection and how much was Brucie's guilt fucking with him after being gassed (he doesn't show up until you're all gassed up) is really fun for me. Kind of like Silent Hill 2's "how much was ever real in this dude's fucked head" brilliance.

I've compared this to Silent Hill 2, Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect 1 in this thread. And it has Batman. This puts it on track to be one of my favorites ever.

Oh right, one last rambling: I love the lack of boss fights. They were never going to make us happy with them, so they went all Mass Effect 3 and ditched them. This is a legit love, not sarcastic. It was a bit annoying when I realized I took down Two Face without realizing in his massive army of goons, but it made perfect sense for Batman to wreck him. Same with Penguin.

I'm down to under 20 Riddler trophies left. Really trying to hammer them all out here before touching New Story Plus. Not sure a date yet, but in the next month I'll have surgery and be stuck in bed/chairs for a couple weeks following—I want this ready to play out to 100% on nsp then as there's not much I'll be able to do. Don't really want to be fiddling with trophies then, just run through the story on buckets of painkillers.

I think I like the Riddler trophies more in this one, but it's hard to say. I find them less convoluted and the only ones that really bugged me were some of the Batmobile ones where you have to follow question marks around to a target as I kept losing them after exiting the car or making a long jump and having to start all over.

I like the map more than the past games by the end and still like the story more as a whole, I think. I find it really hard to rank the three games—again, like Mass Effect for me with the final game feeling closer to the first albeit much more refined.

I really want Arkham spin off games. Not Batman, but other characters. The Harley preorder really got me thinking a full game as her could be quite fun. Same deal for Catwoman and so forth.

Riddler is great.

He registers two accounts on message boards to argue with himself and have more intellectual discussions than he can with the unwashed masses.

He's a great villain, but his missions involving the Batmobile frustrate me to no end.

Here in a flash and gone without a trace

Did you catch that it's a ghost story?

Joker is functionally the ghost of Joker; a fear toxin enhanced apparition of Batman's fears about the blood inside of him.

Jason Todd is a ghost, in that he was 'dead' and is suddenly back from the grave so to speak.

Batman at the end fakes his own death, cuts off all personal ties, and uses fear toxin to become the ghost of Batman. In his final conversation with Catwoman, he talks about the city needing a new myth that can only come from the ashes of The Batman. Criminals are a cowardly and superstitious lot.

I thought Ivy's 'fall' was seasonally appropriate. Her pollen fights fear toxin. If you pay close attention to the end sequence with Joker, after the lights go out, there are plants all over the place, including Ivy. The circular room with the Batman monuments is surrounded by trees...

Joker's face gets more and more healthy looking as the story goes on. It's reverse battle damage...

And when Barbara "shoots herself", Joker moves the gun. Since Joker can't affect real world objects, of course the sequence is not real...

Also, Batman is ignoring Joker throughout the story for a very good reason. Being ignored is what Joker fears...

Replaying Arkham Asylum now. Been a few years and I'd forgotten how great it was. So tight all around. I'm up to Joker's party at the end and am just cleaning up all the riddles left. Everything is just perfect in the game itself. Sure, combat improved as the series went on and it would be nice to have some of the later moves, but I haven't really found it detracting at all. I love the flying mechanics of City and Knight (and Origins if you count it), but it really wouldn't add anything in this game if it were there. The Asylum itself is compact enough that there's no place that you'd go off flying.

After playing so many of these games so much I do find it easy. I didn't die until a Scarecrow bit where I put the controller down for a drink, but I'm not really able to fault the game on anything that wouldn't be a stupid complaint except for the final boss.

It's hard to rank these games for me. They're so different that direct comparison isn't fair. I'd have it as a toss up between Asylum and Knight for the top spot. Asylum is a bit better laid out, but the story in Knight goes to places that are just fantastic. The bit leading into the endings is the best in the series and already one of my favorites in gaming.

My weird note on Asylum that makes me dumber for even saying is that I hope they port over the later Batman character model when they release Asylum and City for PS4/One. He just looks perfect in Knight and I'd love being able to rock that character skin for the whole series.

[EDIT] Just finished Asylum (again) and the Joker fight didn't really bother me this time around. Only gripe is how quickly everything wraps up at the end, but the actual game portion is near perfect. I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant.

Yeah I've heard pretty average things about that game, but if it's still the same game engine that surely it's gotta be fairly decent.

The biggest problem is that it's clunkily lifted from City. The map is the same, the engine is the same and even the shock gloves are directly lifted from the Wii U version of City. The combat is also a tad off as counters aren't as tight and there's a very slight delay that can be quite frustrating. The best thing in it are the boss battles, but those are even quite overrated. The worst of which is a fight with Deathstroke that makes the Titan Joker fight from Asylum look amazing but dumdums have somehow deluded themselves into believing is a good fight.

All that said, it's not a terrible game—just extremely average and out of place next to the other games.

And they have talked about releasing them for PS4 but everything I've heard is that it would just be Asylum and City (the ones Rocksteady made.)

During the events of Arkham Asylum, Joker both takes a jab at either Jason Todd or Batgirl with "Looks like you could use a new sidekick"...

However, he also says "What's it like in your organization? Do you punish your hired help when they fail you? Or is that saucy outfit you make him wear punishment enough?" Present tense use of the word "make" means there's currently a Robin during the events of Arkham Asylum, and now we know it was Tim...

Just take your time.

I played it as cat and mouse/hide and seek. You don't get right in front of him, but hit him from a distance, run and then hit him again when he gets to where you were. I don't think I died after the Cobras were dealt with. Ended up doing a Wrath of Khan bit around a set of bridges where we were always moving (him on one side following and me on the other) but never right next to each other. I'd hit him from a far with the non-machine gun gun and just nibble away at his health while we circled around this spot.

Then I eventually just charged him, hit him with everything head on and won.

All of the open Books in this game contain excerpts from Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of The Opera...
Specifically from the chapter "Is it the Ghost?"...

And it was true. For several months, there had been nothing discussed at the Opera but this ghost in dress-clothes who stalked about the building, from top to bottom, like a shadow, who spoke to nobody, to whom nobody dared speak and who vanished as soon as he was seen, no one knowing how or where. As became a real ghost, he made no noise in walking. People began by laughing and making fun of this specter dressed like a man of fashion or an undertaker; but the ghost legend soon swelled to enormous proportions among the corps de ballet. All the girls pretended to have met this supernatural being more or less often. And those who laughed the loudest were not the most at ease. When he did not show himself, he betrayed his presence or his passing by accident, comic or serious, for which the general superstition held him responsible. Had any one met with a fall, or suffered a practical joke at the hands of one of the other girls, or lost a powderpuff, it was at once the fault of the ghost, of the Opera ghost."

You might find this relevant to the ending...

Arkham and MGS have me seriously considering this as one of the best gaming years ever. Mario Maker may only seal that, as that game will be limitless. I'll be playing with it 20 years from now. I'll be playing with all of these 20 years from now, in some form. I would say that's a stretch, but I've been playing Mario longer than that already. There have been years with more top level games, but we're just in a pretty great era for gaming.

I think they've kept what's good but made an honest attempt at adding to it and the bat mobile is really really good. It's a little bit like the ship in Assassin's creed. Some would have preferred to just repeat what they had done in the previous games, but it added a new dimension.

Many of the side missions with it were frustrating and felt like busy work, although most of Arkham's missions are busy work. One mission with Batmobile got me so mad I stopped playing and haven't rented it since. I might give it another crack, but I have a couple other games I want to try first.

i loved the batmobile, especially once i switched the toggle mode and settled in to the controls. but there are, without a doubt, shit missions with it. i really disliked the majority of the riddler racetracks, cause the more complicated they got, i felt like the controls werent as intuitive and responsive, which meant retrying shit too often. stuff like riding up on walls and shifted perspectives messed with my head and dexterity. i was okay with the 'platforming' sections it was used it, for the most part.

I enjoyed the Batmobile stuff once I flipped the controls. I've not seen anyone suggest that they liked the out of the box setting for the driving controls so that looks like a huge mistake on their part as many people wouldn't realise you can change them and may have given up on the game in frustration.

Driving was over-done though. There shouldn't have been so many tank battles and there shouldn't have been so many ludicrously over the top Riddler races. One or two of those things would have been fun and memorable.

It's my least favourite of the three main games but it's a strong game in its own right.

Origins has some awesome moments to it, but a frustrating world design. There are a lot of inaccessible places and things in the way and I don't recall that being a thing elsewhere. There seems to be a lot more fighting and repetition, and it plays a lot more like ten Yakuza games in that sense.

I actually beat Origins twice. Once on PS3 when it first came out and later on Wii U after having traded in the former system and saw the later for 10 bucks or something in front of Knight coming out.

Both times, I had just marathoned the other games (which isn't fair), so the timing being off really stood out to me. It wasn't the worst Batman game I've played, but it feels unfair to have the Arkham name on it. The Rocksteady games are so good that it just makes this look weaker by comparison. Flat out lifting maps from City also felt like weak sauce. Had Origins come out in the time before Asylum, I'd imagine it would be highly regarded but it came out after two of the best games ever with their name slapped on it while made by different people.

According to Eurogamer, "Return to Arkham" is tentatively scheduled for a November release date.

Also, this isn't Arkham related, but here's the trailer for "Batman - The Telltale Series":

Looks pretty cool. Bruce Wayne looks like Archer, though.

4AM here but I just finished Arkham Asylum after playing the final stretch from about 9..It wasn't my intent but damn I got into it  . Having only played Arkham Night previously, I just assumed these 2 were the same (open world) but no matter, this was excellent and i look forward to Arkham City.

So Arkham knight was pretty good.

But I just can't get myself to complete all the god damn Riddler Trophies to get the true ending.

just youtube it. i 100%'d the game before finishing it, cause i enjoy the riddler trophies for the most part, but the true ending isnt all that great and not worth the effort if you find the riddler stuff tedious.

It's just about 25% too many. Just seeing how many I have left to go just kills me. So yeah I think I will just youtube it.

Playing through Arkham Knight again, I completed it before so I knew this was coming but the destroying the cloudburst mission has got me ready to sack it off before I have a fit. Obviously if it was the first play through then I would persevere but I dunno, just really fucking me off :/
