I'm not going to do the next list topic until mid Winter. I think doing one a season helps keep them fresh, but helps keep eyes around the VG forum section.

1. Best Nintendo Handheld game (Includes all Nintendo Handhelds from Gameboy to the 2DS)

2. Best X-Box game

3. Best GameCube game

4. Best PC Game

5. Best PS3 Game

6. Best X-Box 360 Game

7. Best Game of the 7th generation (PS3, Wii, X-Box 360)

I voted for best PC game. It's such a versatile, long-lasting platform that I really think the field will be tremendously deep and unpredictable, with all sorts of interesting gems being floated. I'd have probably have something like Creatures in my top 5, and to my mind stuff like Monkey Island holds up to today's story-driven, cinematic games very well indeed.

I'm with best PC game too. A very different list would be interesting.

I'm definitely in the best game of the Wii/360/PS3 generation group.

Acruallt, just thought of another which could be good: Best Nintendo Game Ever. The best Nintendo made game across all their systems.

That would be a pretty epic list I imagine. I can think of a half dozen top contenders: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, at least one of the Mario Karts, Ocarina of Time, Metroid, Mario 64...

I went with PC because it's the only one I really have any opinion on.

Best PC game, a lot of history there.

Then there's there's Kirbys, Punch-Outs, Donkey Kongs, Pokemons and so forth.

5 days left in the poll.

I do want to do a best handheld list whether it is a combined Nintendo list, or all encompassing list. I think it is a very underrated area of video gaming on these boards.

Suddenly very glad we haven't done best of the PS3/360/Wii generation yet. Just clocked The Last of Us and my initial impression would probably have me vote for that.

This is going to be tough. I don't know which version of X-COM to put as #1.

Modded KOTOR is number one. Duh.

HK-47 nude mod?

Atty

My override folder was equal to the size of the game data by the time I was done. And, yes, HK was reskinned so his color scheme looked like a terminator with glowing blue eyes. He was quite the sexy droid.

That actually raises a good question: do we consider mods when judging the games, or are we going by the pure games themselves? Some games like Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls become infinitely better with mods.

It's actually a very key question if we do PC as it massively alters my list.

I've never played Dragon Age on the PC, is it seriously that much better?

My list will be LucasArts and RPG heavy.

I never bothered with Dragon Age mods but I loved the original game on PC. Just a seriously satisfying RPG experience with some decent writing.

As for considering mods, the way I rank games is simply by how much enjoyment I got out of them. If mods were available and made the thing much more enjoyable for you personally, I'd include them. It may not be fair if we were doing PC vs consoles, but on the PC alone everybody at least theoretically has the ability to use mods.

My number one might end up being TIE Fighter. It's a serious contender, even after all these years. I hear Disney has announced a new F2P Star Wars dogfight game but I'm not holding my breath it'll be much good. TIE Fighter wasn't just good as a game, it had a great story and really made you part of the Star Wars universe.

You all aren't talking about the best PC game, but that's alright.

We're getting to Monkey Island, keep your shirt on.

You get to skip The Fade, so by that alone yes it's much better.

The Fade was one of my favourite bits... the first time.

Any subsequent play throughs though, ffs, hated the place.

Deep Roads was far FAR more annoying to me.

You consider what ever you want to in your lists.

My list will be a bit all over the place. I don't game a ton on computer, but the few I did play I liked it quite a bit.

This is why KOTOR will be so huge for me here. It's not just that I added mods to the game, but that I started to make my own and probably spent hundreds of hours breaking the game down and rebuilding it from the dialogue (and therefore story a bit), character skins, models and designs, variations on lightsaber hilts depending on color, reskinning entire locations to raise texture quality, having two ghosts of Revan (one light, one dark) attack you in the final Sith tomb before retrieving his robes and the lightsaber which was changed to his, having the Sith master who attacks on Manaan be a dead ringer for Christopher Lee and so many others. I even tweaked the stats of most every enemy you'd face to make bigger encounters (big fights having more HP, Malak regenerating HP as you fight, etc.)

I put so much into and got so much out of that game that it stands above all for me.
