Six days left until SummerSlam, and all hell is about to break loose. CM Punk might not make it to the summer classic if chicanery ensues during his fight with Paul Heyman (it will). John Cena and Daniel Bryan both might end up with egg on their faces if Mr. McMahon has some diabolical plan in store for their WWE Title Match at SummerSlam (he does), and one group of Superstars who’s been uncharacteristically quiet of late may look to make a big impact in the final days before the summer classic (they certainly will).

Here’s the last pre-SummerSlam five-point preview.

- Paul Heyman hasn’t exactly minced words since turning on CM Punk at Money in the Bank, and with Punk still reeling from a thumping by Brock Lesnar last week, Heyman went and challenged his hobbled former Padawan to a throwdown on Raw. Punk, of course, accepted, but given that these two’s history of “fights” never seems to end without incident (ironically enough their last two were both against the same guy), look for Heyman to throw some kind of curveball to weaken Punk further before he steps into the ring with Lesnar on Sunday.

- So Kane’s got Bray Wyatt in a Ring of Fire at SummerSlam in a bout that’s set to take both Superstars, quite literally, to the edge of hell itself. But while the backwoods preacher Wyatt has certainly proven himself as sinister a Superstar WWE has ever seen, Kane is coming off one of the more balanced years of his career, if not his life. Just a year ago, he was dipping his toes into anger management with Daniel Bryan and as of last month, hugging it out wasn’t entirely off the table for The Devil’s Favorite Demon just yet. Can Kane rediscover his old, sadistic ways in time? And even if so, will it be too little, too late?

-We haven’t heard much from The Shield in the weeks leading up to SummerSlam. This is not a good thing. Despite a pair of epic Six-Man Tag Team Matches, The “Hounds of Justice” have yet to announce their plans for the summer classic, which of course means that Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns are due to make one of their patented statement attacks sometime soon. The only questions left are who and when.

- Anticipation for a WWE Title Match the WWE Universe never expected has officially built to a fever pitch. John Cena holds steady as the world-beating champion, but perennial underdog and No. 1 contender Daniel Bryan is looking every bit as dominant as The Champ these days, taking on and defeating any Superstar who dares to challenge him lately. Randy Orton, meanwhile, remains on the fringe of the rivalry with his Money in the Bank contract ready to go at a moment’s notice.

And then, of course, there’s Mr. McMahon, who doesn’t seem to want any of these competitors as WWE Champion and is surely thinking up some wicked scheme for the final minutes of the summer’s biggest party. Speaking of which …

- WWE COO Triple H has sworn to upend whatever scheme Mr. McMahon has in mind for SummerSlam, looking to interfere with The Chairman’s meddling by running interference of his own. With so many moving parts to the WWE Title Match as it is, it’s tough to see how The King of Kings could possibly keep his eyes on everything and anticipate what his father-in-law’s got in store, but for a man with seven days left to figure it out, The Game seems pretty confident. How can The Cerebral Assassin possibly thwart Mr. McMahon’s plans?

Tune in to find out!

Very excited for RAW tonight and should be a red hot Crowd in Sacramento as well.

Yeah I'm pretty pumped up myself. The Raw before MITB was epic if I remember correctly. Expecting much bigger things with SS around the corner!

I really like starting during Bryan's entrance and having Barrett already in the ring. One, it saves time and that's more wrestling. And two, it gives the show momentum to start. No waiting, no long video packages. Right to the action.

I like Sandow's new briefcase.

Right? The crowd just seems... happy regardless of whatever outcome.

They boo'd for 2 seconds.. then nothing. Then they only went with the "No" chant cos Bryan was miming it .... I hope it's not like this all night. No doubt they'll monster pop for Orton so we can get another 12 months of him doing squat all.

Controversial Miz TV Count - 3

TooCool
August 12th, 2013, 9:09 PM
I would have HHH call it right down the middle. Daniel Bryan makes Cena tap out. HHH feels like he did his job correctly. Then out of no where, Orton RKOs HHH to knock him out and cashes in his contract while Vince rushes Brad Maddox to the ring as the ref and Maddox. Brad should then count fast again and Vince gets what he wants as Summerslam goes off the air.

As much as I liked that Bryan/Cena promo, it actually made less hyped for Summerslam. Before this promo, I could legitimately see Bryan winning clean(preferably by tap out). Now all I can see happening is Cena proving he's a wrestler and making Bryan tap.

On the other hand, thinking about the long game, Bryan gets a feud to really elevate him, HHH goes back to heel, the matches and feud would probably be amazing and it gives us the opportunity of a Bryan Rumble win and WM 1st WWE Title win.

Oh God, I can't believe it, I want Bryan to lose on Sunday.

I've always said that they should hold off somebody's first WWE title win until Wrestlemania. If Bryan loses here (and I'm a fan so I hope he doesn't), they need it to be a kickstarter to his road to the title. Which would be beating H at TLC, winning the Rumble, having to defend his opportunity in the Chamber, then beating Cena or Orton clean as a whistle in the 'Mania main event. Easy. Completely shaft him until then, build up the sympathy, then have him rampage.

I'm really not a fan at all of the McMahon stuff being in the title feud. I was really pumped for the match but with a special guest and inevitable shenanigans, I can't see the match being that good. Like someone else said, I don't see Bryan winning now. The suggestion that the story of the match will be that Cena can actually wrestle and ends up making Bryan tap out makes me sad. That C.M Punk is sure floundering now after that dastardly HHH stole his win. And look at RVD, in the PRE-SHOW because HHH held him down in 2002. I bet Booker T got fired as Smackdown GM because HHH beat him at wrestlemania 19 too.

I don't understand why some thought Bryan came off looking like crap, because I thought him getting Cena to lose his cool was awesome.

I personally don't think that Bryan looked like crap, I just think Cena stole his shine in that promo. It was Bryan's time to shine before SS and Cena's promo was nearly impossible to follow. Cena killed it, he evoked an emotion from me that's hard to reach. You could feel his passion and desire for the brand we all love. And quite honestly I don't believe bryan has the ability to cut a promo like that. Or proven enough to even deserve a chance to respond.....lol.

It just proved to me why Cena's the top guy and a guy like Bryan isn't........regardless of how hot he is right now.

Honestly, the only reason that Cena promo was anything more than the boring bullshit he's been spouting for the last however many years is because he seemed legitimately irked about Bryan saying he's not a wrestler and doesn't deserve what he has. There was actual passion and emotion behind what Cena said, and even though he's said it a million times, at least it didn't feel like he was going through the motions. The end of that promo with the Japanese slap in the face thing was amazing. Cena lost his shit and got pissed. We don't see that from him often. Usually, it's goofy smile time, or bathroom humor. It was nice to see him take a promo/confrontation seriously.

I feel like Bryan came off like every guy that has never held the championship. He whined and yelled and sounded like every guy that wants what Cena has. Nothing of any substance came from Bryan AT ALL. And Cena talking about the work he has put in day in and day out for 12 years while traveling around the world holding the championship and defeating everyone put in front of him wasn't repetitive. Talking about being proud of what he's accomplished and what he stands for wasn't what we've heard before either. You could sense the sincerity and passion in his promo.

I felt nothing at all from Bryan. It's his big time to shine and he didn't produce anything magical......Bryan was mediocre at best in that promo.....

Just seems like blind Cena hate and D-Riding on Bryan cuz he's an internet darling.

Hotbeef-Injection
August 13th, 2013, 11:44 AM
I think Bryan winning his first WWE championship at Mania would absolutely be a great way to end the PPV but i don't see it. As much as I'd like to think he's got the full backing of WWE I don't think they see him as 'the man' or even close. He's behind Cena, Punk, Blandy and Shemus, and hell even Taker would cede him.

I really like the direction this is taking. If anyone cam pull it off, it's Bryan. He's a likable and believable underdog. Him against the McMahons isn't gonna be Austin vs Vince but it'll hopefully be better than Triple H vs Punk.

If Orton steals the title on Sunday then it'll truly be a weird one
I mean who do you put him in a program with? Cena for a couple of months? Triple Threat?

I felt nothing at all from Bryan. It's his big time to shine and he didn't produce anything magical......Bryan was mediocre at best in that promo.....

Just seems like blind Cena hate and D-Riding on Bryan cuz he's an internet darling.

Bryan called Cena a parody of wrestling, that Cena is in it for fame/glory and not for wrestling. Cena countered that by saying he tours the world and helps/enriches lives because of who he is in the company.. but he is an entertainer at the end of the day, Bryan was right about the wrestling.

Bryan effectively said he was the Best In The World (TM) while Cena went on about his "I get boo'd and cheered yet I still go on" that he's been doing for a looooong time. He said he is as good as every name Cena mentioned, yet Cena says he doesn't respect him...

Yeah, Bryan wants the title but his whole point was Cena is complacent, egomaniacal and disrespectful whereas Bryan's whole life is wrestling and yes, winning the title would grant him absolution/respect in his mind (He's not the weak link, after all).

Bryan showed his disdain for Cena the way WRESTLING does, by not giving him the "respect" to slap him. Which broke Cena's cool, eventually.

If you missed that, and thought was just talking about a title belt then you need to rewatch it.

The Rock mocked Cena's gimmick, Punk mocked Cena's position/ability - Bryan stabbed Cena's pride right in the back, then kicked it in the crotch.

Oh and then Trips and Orton turned up to ruin the segment.

To say "oh you all just like Bryan is cos he's not Cena" and that's 100% true, most of the time, but I wasn't saying Cena sucks.. I was implying that saying Bryan came off worse is wrong. In my opinion.

He's been acting very bizarre lately with some of the shit he says on twitter. After his botched WHC run, he may have finally given up on this wrestling shit.

Yes. Who knows how things would of turned out if he hadnt got injured. As it is they have turned him face and are looking to get him over in that role. But if hes going to act like a cock why should they put the effort in? He is good (and he knows it). But he has no god given right to anything.

What the fuck is Cody v Sandow meant to be. Is this a heel v heel feud because thats the way its playing out. Commentary calling Cody a sour loser throughout the Sandow/Orton match, Cody admitting he would have threw Sandow of the top of the ladder if in the same situation and pretty much admitting he is a hypocrite. If this is meant to be a Cody face turn then they seriously botched it up cause Cody just comes across as a little prick and there is no reason to sympathize with him, if anything I would back Sandow because despite being a cocky heel he has been in the right throughout the feud.

Cody Rhodes painted himself into a corner with that commentary segment. He seemed to take the wind out of his own sails and accept everything that was put to him, somehow forgetting that JBL is meant to be a heel.

At one point JBL called him a sore loser and he said, "Sore loser? ...naaaaah."

Why have they put this McMahon shit in the title feud?

I don't know, but my interest dropped slightly when he made that announcement. This only makes sense if Bryan wins and Triple H pedigrees him after the fact so Orton can cash in. If they do the same thing after Cena wins clean... ugh.

haha, checked out ziggler's twitter and yeah it is utterly bizarre, especially for a guy who just had a face turn.

Yeh his little description on his profile is a bit disconcerting, Describes himself as a stand up comic who wrestles to pay the bills, And former world champion whatever. Pull yourself together Dolph. Its not like he is on Superstars every week, They are trying to build him up as a face, But if he is going to spit his dummy out I really dont care if he gets put down the card to curtain jerker.

God you are so miserable sometimes. His profile is obviously sarcastic.

Sometimes people have to have a go at someone or publicly criticise people to get themselves noticed. CM Punk for example, would probably be working in Japan or something if he didn't "spit his dummy out".

I swear you'd prefer a product where John Cena faces Alberto Del Rio every week in front of a bunch of kids who cheer Cena, boo ADR and clap politely at the end of the match.
