So, do any of you guys ever check out indy wrestling in your area? I used to follow the Connecticut indie scene back in the day, but I stopped for a few years. Recently, I looked into it again and found out that most of the promotions around here have closed down. There's still one pretty big show in town and it goes by the name of Connecticut Wrestling Entertainment (CTWE). On their last show, an iPPV, they had Trent Barretta and Bobby fuckin' Lashley on the card. I know that Kendrick, Cabana, and Mike Mondo, and Derrick Bateman have worked there as well. Hell, Bryan Danielson stopped in for a cup of coffee once and won their world title (sorta...):

The company has gotten bigger since then, running 2-3 shows a month, getting nicer title belts, and now doing iPPVs. It may seem like nothing special to others, but it's a home-state promotion and I want it to do well and will hopefully be attending some of their shows soon.
So, what's the scene like around you guys?

We had a promotion here called Glass City Wrestling. It seems to have gone out of business, but we went to one of their shows that was main evented by Rhino vs. Krimson, and I got to have a very awkward conversation with Rhino.
It seems to have closed down now, but Ohio is lousy with indie promotions, just like the North East.

There's one I've just discovered, moved down here from NY a few months ago. I'll be attending their show for the first time (only? We'll see) next month at the Orlando Armory (same building NXT runs a lot) mainly to see Colt Cabana. Steve Corino's their World Champ and also on the card are The Headbangers, Homicide, CW Anderson, & Too Cold Scorpio.

Have never attended one of their shows though. Maybe I will some day, could be fun.
There's also GBG Wrestling down in Gothenburg, I think they have been around longer:

AWF is decent here in Minnesota. Lots of stuff on youtube. Proawf if you search it. They have a half hour on a local tv station Sunday mornings.

Slight bump, but god damn CTWE is closing. Of course, I just got into it and they're doing their final show. Rhyno & Nash will be there, so I might go just see them go out. I wish more Indy companies could last or would at least advertise better while they're around. That's 3 CT Indies that have closed in the last year. Ugh.

a couple years ago i lived next to this big flea market that always had a sign out front advertising wrestling shows on friday nights or something. never went, but kinda wish i did for curiosity. now i live in philadelphia so yeah, lots of stuff here, but the thing is they're usually the 'bigger' indie promotions so probably actual local shows aren't as common as you'd think.

AWF continues to grow. They now are going to have a full hour on Sunday mornings, the hour before pregame shows come on for NFL. (different channel)

I've been following FWE based out of NYC. Been really getting into it. They've been streaming their show's on Wednesday nights on youtube. Good mix of WWE castoffs and ROH/TNA talent with other indy wrestlers. Carlito, Dreamer, Kendrick, London, Masters, and John Morrison seem to be regulars. From what I've seen they put on a good show, but I could do without Maryse on commentary.

It's pretty damn good for an Indy fed in my opinion. They

I'm going to a local AMERICAN STYLE WRESTLING show tomorrow night. I will report back with full results. At least they appear to have a legitimate roster.
The last tiny show I went to was in 2001, where they had half of them dressed up like WWF people. The Rock was technically only half blacked up, I wonder if that's okay. He looked like Gary Glitter. The front row of kids ran out to steal all the hardcore weapons. It sounds terrible but I also saw a toddler hit square in the face with a coke can. Thankfully it was empty but I started laughing out of panic. Good times.
Anyway, this show I'm going to is Target Wrestling. I will post more about them based on what I see tomorrow.

Promotion has been around the Des Moines area for years. Tyler Black (who is an Iowa native) actually defended the RoH title at one of the events.
Also, if any of you remember the Tony Kozina v. Ryan Kidd match as well as the Davey Richards-Kyle O'Reilly-Kozina v. a promoter fiasco, look no further than for Magnum Pro Wrestling. They don't have an actual website to my knowledge but you can find them on Twitter and Facebook.
