View Full Version : Who Should Turn Face or Heel?

So right now WWE seems to have an imbalance in both their main event and midcard scenes. In the main event, they have too many faces. Let's take a look:

Faces: John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Alberto Del Rio, Daniel Bryan

Heels: Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show (injured), Mark Henry (possibly returning as a face)

If CM Punk were to come back as a heel, that would help rectify this. Then if they were to turn Randy Orton heel I think they would be fine. More likely, Daniel Bryan will turn and that will bring things closer to balance. Jericho is also really more of a midcarder in the way he is used, but he's wrestling in the main event of Payback and can be used anywhere on the card due to his credibility and versatility. I didn't include Jack Swagger on the list because I don't think he will be in the main event when he returns from his current hiatus.

On the other hand, the midcard is short on faces and stocked with heels.

Faces: Miz, R-Truth, Kane, Kofi Kingston (injured), Sin Cara

Heels: Antonio Cesaro, Big E Langston, Cody Rhodes, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, Dean Ambrose, Fandango, Jack Swagger, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Wade Barrett

Wow, that's a lot of heels. And most of them are pretty damn hot right now. Comparatively, Miz has kind of flopped as a face, R-Truth is stale, and Sin Cara has no momentum at all right now. Miz should probably turn, but if he did there wouldn't really be anyone left to challenge for the IC or US Titles. Some of the face situation will rectify itself when Christian and Rey Mysterio return from their injuries. Also, Santino has been mysteriously absent for a long time. Not sure what the deal is there. I think Cody could use a face turn. He's been a heel for a long time and really doesn't have much left to do in that role at this point. I think it's worth testing to see if he can get over as a face.

Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder could be some great midcard faces or a face tag-team. Neither man is doing anything anyway, so why not?

Heath Slater as a sympathetic babyface could work. Dude reminds me of Crash Holly, so a straight-man like Mcintyre or Mahal would be a good sidekick for him.

Justin Gabriel and Evan Bourne as a couple of high-flyers in the midcard (or tag) scene.

and fucking YOSHI TATSU, motherfuckers. WWE has plenty of midcard face talent, they just gotta use 'em.

I would turn BARRUH, though. Dudes a great heel, but something about him just makes me think he'd make an awesome face.

Watch, here's a bunch of feuds with guys you listed:

Cesaro - Barrett
Langston - Kane
Rhodes - Hawkins/Ryder
Sandow - Hawkins/Ryder
Axel - Miz
Ambrose - Slater w/friends
Fandango -
Reigns & Rollins - Bourne & Gabriel and/or Hawkins & Ryder
Swagger -

The only ones left without shit to do can easily mix it up with Main Eventers.

Yeah I could see Bourne and Gabriel as a solid team, I would love to see a Tyson Kidd push when he returns to the roster. Lastly, please turn tons of funk heel, they'd make a solid twin towers type team.

Neville & Bourne would be my pic for a popular high flying underdog tag team.

Turn Langston face at some point, it should take some time though. He'll be tremendous.

There was talk a while ago that when Evan Bourne was healthy, they would have him team with Sin Cara.

Orton and Sheamus both need to turn heel. Both are very boring right now and Sheamus is extremely cringe worthy right now unless hes wrestling.
Big Show can just retire.
Henry needs to stay heel.
Big E would make a great face but like someone said above give it time. I'd like for him to confront Henry.
CM Punk needs to turn face again..after Heyman turns on him.

And if Christian ever returns I'd like to see him and Jericho team up and win the tag titles and they can be either heel or face I don't care. And work with all the new up and comers and put a young team over big. ahem Hawkins/Ryder reunion would be awesome.

CM Punk should turn face. I suspect he'll turn on Heyman soon and face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.

I'd enjoy a Ziggler face turn at some point in the year. The dude is just too entertaining to root against. I'm sure they're holding off on a turn until after the inevitable feud with Big E.

Orton needs to turn heel soon. He wants it and it would benefit those around him. Bryan vs. Orton HAS to happen.

Sheamus could probably use a turn considering they've squandered his opportunity as a no non-sense ass kicking baby face in favor of making him a smirking prick. A heel turn and a feud with Cena would be interesting and pretty fresh.

This is how I would prefer the arrangements:

Face: Cena, Punk, Bryan, Del Rio, Henry, Jericho

Heel: Orton, Ryback, Sheamus, Big Show, Ziggler

Stronger group of heels once you add Orton and Sheamus. Both guys are stale and boring as faces and would be much more interesting as heels. Orton in particular is an awesome heel and absolutely terrible as a face. I think he would work much harder if he were playing heel as well, as he's stated many times that he prefers it. Henry should get one last run as a face before he retires. Punk is better as a heel, but just can't get most of the crowd to boo him. Also, I'd like to see him face Brock Lesnar at Summerslam and he'd have to turn face to do that. There are still more faces than heels, but once you factor in that Henry and Jericho are really closer to the midcard than main event right now it works out. Bryan is getting such a great response as a face that they should just ride that wave while it lasts.

Face: Cody, Christian, Rey, Kofi, Sin Cara, Santino, Barrett, Kane, R-Truth

Heel: Cesaro, Big E, Axel, Sandow, Ambrose, Fandango, Swagger, Reigns, Rollins, Miz

Cody's going nowhere as a heel at this point, so they might as well give him a try as a face. Miz is so smug and obnoxious as a face. He's just a natural heel. Barrett has kind of run his course as a heel and I think he would make an interesting face with a Finlay-esque "loves to fight" character. There are a few more heels than faces, but Jericho and Henry can definitely drop down from their near-main event positions to feud with some of these guys. The workers here are definitely the faces, but the heels are the more compelling characters.

Ziggler would've made a much better face than Del Rio. I know they were hard up for a Mexican babyface, but it really didn't pan out the way they planned.

Del Rio was turned in an effort to slowly phase out Rey. As for Ziggler, I would've preferred him as a babyface over Miz.

Now that I think about it, if there is a Punk/Brock Summerslam match, how about in the next week or two bring on Cesaro as a Heyman guy to help establish him and have a short mini fued with Punk? It gives Punk something to do with the limited brock appearances and helps establish Cesaro as a somebody with a great mouthpiece in Heyman.

Face: Cena, Punk, (I'm just one of those guys who likes Punk better as a staight shooting face) Bryan, Ziggler, Henry, Jericho, Sheamus
Heel: Orton, Ryback, Cesaro, Big Show, Del Rio
==============

I'm definitely one of the guys who thinks Sheamus works better as a face character, and I would IMMEDIATELY start working on Cesaro vs. Sheamus. Zeb goes on talking about the correct way to do the immigration route, unlike someone like Sin Cara. Brings out Cesaro to show how it's done correctly. Cesaro does a beat down on Sin Cara, and then Sheamus makes the save (talking about his Irish heritage)... You set up Cesaro vs. Sheamus through this.. .Then Swagger makes his return, going after Sheamus as well.. Sin Cara comes back to even up the odds.

Summerslam match is then set: Cesaro/Swagger vs. Sheamus/Sin Cara.

You put over Cesaro/Swagger/Zeb as a "We the People" team/stable, Sin Cara gets the rub from working with Sheamus, and you have a decent upper-midcard level feud, and you hopefully get Sin Cara as the much desired "mexican face" (as you turn Del Rio back heel with Zigs during this, although I've been kinda stumped what you do with AJ and Langston if you turn Zigs face, since they seem to be a cohesive unit).

As for who I would turn.. I still say that Miz needs to go back heel (but I don't see that happening with Fandango and Axel on the roster at the moment), as well as R-Truth. (I really like Mr. Killings' heel character, as it seemed to give him a great spark that he needed.)

Didn't Sheamus have issues with his work visa back in 2010? I think him and Barrett both missed some time because of it. That would give an obvious motivation for Zeb to not like both of them.

I thought it was McIntyre..but they could easily tweak history a little for a storyline.

Or because it's wrestling. Ignore history entirely
