As for Andy Mangan, I had him pegged as a 4th round pick. If he plays he'll probably do reasonably well, but Fleetwood have already splashed some cash on players with proven league goalscoring records, and will undoubetly spend a little more before the summer's out..

Yeah, I think it'd be good if Rip is allowed to take as long as he wants/needs, so he can draw up a list and ask any questions he has about the game. There's no real rush, as we've pretty much made it through the first round, which tends to be the slowest, in about twenty-four hours.

We should have been a lot stricter and just told Ringo no, especially after he vanished last season.

Not really. BBF only had Bent for a couple of weeks then he picked up a long term injury. BBF tried to get a few trades for him and when he couldn't he swapped him out.

MMH had Bent for most of the season. He swapped him to me for Yakubu and I swapped Bent for BWP just before Bent died.

It was strange because he probably put over 10 hours into doing the results for us the season before so you'd think that he'd have a better instinct for actual goalscorers and put a little effort into list.

Seeing how your new and all, just so you know there is a inherent risk to picking the lower league guys no matter how good they are. Invariably every year there is a TON of games called off during the winter and it really does mess you up when it comes to picking your squad. I like my picks but I am going to be nervous when the winter rolls in so I'm going to try and pick up a couple of guys in the top leagues later in the rounds, just to try and even things out a little.

It's a bit worrying hearing people say they think they know who I'll pick because I'm stuck between a few, none of which I feel are very obvious.

Anyway, I'm going to go for a bit of a gamble and welcome back Danny Hattersley (Stockport). He joined them quite late in the season last year but got 6 in 7 starts in a struggling team. Stockport look better equipped this season and they rate him very highly. They've signed him up to a new deal and he's already banging them in in pre-season. I wanted Doris or Longworth, bit disappointed that they both went. I have a feeling Scotland isn't going to be the goldmine it was last year, with people recognising the value in the draft already. Although having said that, I'm sure I said the same thing last year.

Yeah, it's a hard one to judge. If he picks up where he left of last season he's a good pick at this stage, but having only played eight games at that level there's no telling if he will or not. They obviously rate him very highly which is encouraging though.

I was determined not to gamble on too many picks this season but I already have a couple I want to sign in the next round.
