Just a message to gauge the interest in such an endeavor.

I've been thinking if a relaunch of this is possible and then a comment made by Miotch hit me. The off-season is far more fun that the season itself.

As such, the goal here would be to greatly reduce the number of in-season updates to one update at end of reg. season, one for playoffs and then the off-season, and start the next year up.

I'd use NBA 2K11 as the engine for the new sim.

This accelerated schedule would allow for us to get through that awkward skill acquisition phase and into the dominance phase and actually see if anyone ends up a HOFer.

Hit the thread if you're interested and we'll see if there's enough to warrant a start-up.

I tried to find my YNBAC thread from a couple of years ago as a reference tool but it appears to have been deleted... sorry!

That's what I thought... then you said he was "ranked" higher than me... and then I went and read Dubya's details instead of Kris, couldn't work out how you thought Dubya was ranked higher than me... so cocked up majorly in thinking I was top of the heap. :nono:

BITS & BYTES

Yao Ming is said to be miserable in Milwaukee and wants out. There are rumours that Charlotte is dangling Emeka Okafor in an attempt to land the big man from China

NY PG Chauncey Billups will miss the entire season with a Torn MCL
GSW PF David Lee will miss the first 6-8 weeks with a Broken Patella
MIA PG Chauncey Billups will miss the first 4-6 weeks with a Broken Foot

There are rumours that Tim Dubya (CHA) will be looking for the biggest payday possible when his current contract ends

Kris Destiny reports to being happy in Denver

Obi Sanctimony is curious about his worth on the open market

Chris Scott is leaning towards staying in DET

Matthew Matthews hates his label of "Prospect" but is being won over by ample playing time. He is still rumoured to be likely testing Free Agency

Rampage Reveille is 51/49 towards staying in HOU

Those close to Travis Williams say that he's feeling that Free Agency "Isn't for him"

Steve Hit Hit is telling anyone who will listen that he grew up a fan of the Grizzlies and as such doesn't want to go anywhere else

Ira Vaughn says that although there's a long time before his contract is up, New Jersey is where he wants to be... right now

Grim is unemotionally and honestly saying that he is likely to test the market

Blackening Awesome says that re-signing in Philly would be mutually beneficial to both parties

Mitch Mitchelson says he doesn't know what he's going to do next year. He did say on Twitter that he "loves going to new places"

Cewsh is leaning towards the biggest possible payday for his next contract, wherever that is

Secsy Saint is curious what his value would be on the open market

Pablo's agent is saying he wants to stay in UTAH for his whole career, Pabs is saying he's looking for max money (who's telling the truth?)

In the reverse, Friend reports his agent wants him to test the market but he is happy in Washington

I know its not a big deal, but under news and notes Billups is listed as playing for New York and Miami. I'm also surprised that Miami hired George Karl after winning the title two years in a row with Spoelstra.

BITS & BYTES
- MEM PG Michael Conley was injured in December for the remainder of the year with a Torn MCL

- DEN C Nene tore his ACL in January and was done for the year

- LAC C Chris Kaman Tore his Patellar Tendon in January and missed the rest of the year

- DET SF CHRIS SCOTT tore his MCL in Feb and missed the rest of the year

- NO C GRIM ARIO tore his MCL on the final game of the season, he will miss the start of next year most likely

- CLE C Tyson Chandler tore his MCL in Mar and he will likely miss the start of next season

- MIL C Andrew Bogut tore his MCL in Feb and missed the rest of the season

- No-One Torn received some major consideration for both the East All Star Team and Sixth Man of the Year

- Grim was on the short list for Defensive Player of the Year

- Same for Rev and Most Improved Player of the year, although he fell off the pace by around the all-star break

- Obi Sanctimony was the Eastern Conference's player of the week Mar 3-9

- Benz Ino finished 2nd in the ROTY voting, Payton was on the shortlist early on but lost his starter's job fairly early in the year and fell off pretty quick

- Tyson Bell won ROTM all 6 months for the West while Benz Ino won every month but the last in the East, that month it went to Ray Glover

- The only all-star snub that the media questioned was Stephen Curry from MIN

- There are some very big names who do not have a player or team option for the coming year. Dwight Howard (94), Chris Paul (93), Deron Williams (90), Andrew Bynum (86), Josh Smith (86), Manu Ginobili (84), Al Jefferson (84), Gerald Wallace (83), Tim Duncan (82), Gilbert Arenas (81), Devin Harris (81), and Kevin Martin (80) are all potentially up for grabs come July

I don't think my talents are being respected in Utah. Look at that low minutes per game. If they want me to sign a long extension with them after the season this is going to have to change.

What the hell Golden State? They trade away three starting caliber players, then leave the #1 pick on the pine all season? Rebuilding is fine, but we could have actually been really good this season.

A team that went to the Conference Finals got the number one pick. This should be a Duncan/Robinson kinda boost for the Bulls

Golden State Warriors
C - Andrea Bargnani (80)
PF - David Lee (80)
SF - MATT PAYTON (83)
SG - O.J. Mayo (90)
PG - Jamaal Tinsley (56)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - I imagine someone else will end up playing point after the opening tip but still. That's a shocking hole. This team could challenge for the playoffs if they actually play Payton.

Houston Rockets
C - RAMPAGE REVEILLE (82)
PF - Patrick Patterson (82)
SF - Chase Budinger (71)
SG - Kevin Martin (79)
PG - Kyle Lowry (80

SF - Travis Outlaw (70)
SG - IRA VAUGHN (86)
PG - Deron Williams (90)

PF - Channing Frye (65)
SF - Omri Casspi (69)
SG - MITCH MITCHELSON (88)

SF - Josh Childress (69)
SG - Tyreke Evans (91)
PG - CEWSH VON CEWSHENSTEIN (80)

PF - Anthony Randolph (79)
SF - Terence Payne (65)
SG - Wesley Matthews (77)
PG - SECSY SAINT (88)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - They look bad on paper but they looked bad on paper last year. If the coach can tame the Matt Matthews storm they could repeat last year's playoff appearance.

UTAH JAZZ
C - Al Jefferson (85)
PF - Derrick Favors (85)
SF - Gordon Hayward (74)
SG - PABLO DIABLO (90)
PG - Devin Harris (82)

BITS & BYTES
- DET Sophomore SG Ray Glover tore his achilles in October and was out for the rest of the year

- John Wall tore his MCL in March and was out for the rest of the season

- O.J. Mayo tore his meniscus and was out for two months just prior to the playoffs

- Chris Scott (DET) returned to action in early January

- Matthew Matthews although disgruntled was the front man for Sixth Man of the Year from about Feb 1 onward

- The only all-star snubs that the media questioned were Dwayne Wade (MIA) & Chris Paul (NO)

- Pablo Diablo broke his foot during the stretch drive and that may have been the cause of Utah's failure to make the playoffs

- Indiana will be in tough in the playoffs. Travis Williams broke his arm and will be out 4-6 weeks.

- There is only one really big fish in the potential upcoming free agent crop. Kobe Bryant (91), Andrew Bogut (83), Brandon Roy (82), Kyle Lowry (81), Evan Turner (80) are all potentially up for grabs come July

I seem to be among the top Rajah guys in assists each year, even this one with limited playing time. But its a scoring league. Probably should have made my guy more selfish.

Pablo Diablo

I guess I probably shouldn't have made my player so emotional. These fouls are killing me and my team.

Also that whole broken foot deal kind of sucks.

The slight caveat is that Williams won't play until at least the second round this year.

RAJAH TEAMS STARTING FIVES

Atlanta Hawks
C - Al Horford (84)
PF - Brandon Bass (68)
SF - Junior Haywood (67)
SG - Demar Derozan (85)
PG - Armon Johnson (74)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Virtually the same crew. Should be somewhere in the 7-11 range in the East

Charlotte Bobcats
C - Dejuan Blair (80)
PF - BENZ INO (86)
SF - TIM DUBYA (89)
SG - Gerald Henderson (75)
PG - Ramon Sessions (77)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Although Sessions took a step back, this looks to be a team that can challenge for that 6-10 range

Chicago Bulls
C - Joakim Noah (83)
PF - Carlos Boozer (85)
SF - JAY DOUGLAS (86)
SG - Ronnie Brewer (72)
PG - Derrick Rose (97)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - One of the four powerhouses in the East. Douglas better get his nerves under control. Some big matchups with ORL, MIA and NO await.

Denver NuggetsaA
C - Nene (75)
PF - KRIS DESTINY (89)
SF - Wilson Chandler (83)
SG - Aaron Afflalo (70)
PG - Ty Lawson (88)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Last year I said "the holes are getting bigger, the ship is taking on water" I haven't seen enough repairs to give them the green light for the playoffs.

Detroit Pistons
C - Greg Monroe (83)
PF - OBI SANCTIMONY (90)
SF - CHRIS SCOTT (91)
SG - Ray Glover (84)
PG - Rodney Stuckey (81)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Every year I predict a playoff push and on paper these guys are good enough to fulfil that. Any chance it holds true one of these seasons?

Golden State Warriors
C - Eddie Williamson (62)
PF - Ed Davis (82)
SF - MATT PAYTON (77)
SG - O.J. Mayo (93)
PG - Tony Parker (79)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - I imagine David Lee (79) will get considerable time at Center. Even still, this team has a volatile makeup. All sources indicate that Payton will play starter's minutes this year though.

Houston Rockets
C - RAMPAGE REVEILLE (82)
PF - Trevor Booker (73)
SF - Gerald Wallace (77)
SG - Kevin Martin (75)
PG - Nate Robinson (63) - Related to mood - has requested a trade
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - This ship is going down!

Indiana Pacers
C - Roy Hibbert (82)
PF - Patrick Patterson (84)
SF - Paul George (86)
SG - TRAVIS WILLIAMS (91)
PG - Darren Collison (86)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - If one of the big four mentioned earlier (MIA, NOH, CHI, ORL) falter at all, IND could make them look foolish. This team could win the NBA championship if a few things fall their way. That's how deep the East is. I'd predict a 4-6 finish for the Pacers though.

Memphis Grizzlies
C - STEVE HIT HIT (91)
PF - TYSON BELL (87)
SF - Rudy Gay (90)
SG - Monta Ellis (89)
PG - Michael Conley (81)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - They look like the overwhelming favourite in the West if not the NBA overall. This could be their last real shot at it though. Rudy Gay is also a free agent in the off-season.

New Jersey Nets
C - Brook Lopez (87)
PF - Jeff Green (78)
SF - Travis Outlaw (70)
SG - IRA VAUGHN (89)
PG - Deron Williams (90)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Once again, New Jersey are like Diet Indiana, the same things apply but not in the same quantities. They'll finish somewhere from 5-8

New Orleans Hornets
C - GRIM ARIO (90)
PF - David West (73)
SF - Carmelo Anthony (92)
SG - Tracy McGrady (67)
PG - Chris Paul (94)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - The dropoff after the big 3 is staggering (West at 73). But this is a team that if it can get the most from Grim, Melo and CP3 could win everything. A NOH/MEM final would be spectacular to watch.

Philadelphia 76ers
C - Spencer Hawes (77)
PF - Vladimir Rodic (61)
SF - BLACKENING AWESOME (86)
SG - Evan Turner (84)
PG - Jrue Holiday (79)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Still haven't filled the hole created by AI's (not that AI, this one likes to talk about practice), departure 2 years ago. They finish in the 10-15 range

Phoenix Suns
C - Robin Lopez (73)
PF - Tyler Hansbrough (72)
SF - Trevor Ariza (77)
SG - MITCH MITCHELSON (91)
PG - Raymond Mann (79)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Poor Mitch. Once again may be the worst starting 5 in the NBA. He's the only legitimate starter. Good news is he'll have a chance to escape.

Sacramento Kings
C - Emeka Okafor (69)
PF - Jason Thompson (81)
SF - Andy Campbell (65)
SG - Tyreke Evans (93)
PG - CEWSH VON CEWSHENSTEIN (81)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - They're in trouble without D. Cousins. They'll likely drop out of the top 8.

Toronto Raptors
C - Andris Biedrins (71)
PF - Paul Millsap (79)
SF - Dajuan Summers (65)
SG - Wesley Matthews (76)
PG - SECSY SAINT (90)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Last year I said "They look bad on paper but they looked bad on paper last year. If the coach can tame the Matt Matthews storm they could repeat last year's playoff appearance." - I was right. I'm saying the same thing this year.

UTAH JAZZ
C - Al Jefferson (84)
PF - Derrick Favors (88)
SF - Gordon Hayward (78)
SG - PABLO DIABLO (94)
PG - Devin Harris (81)
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Not the favourite in the West but easily a 3-6 team. Depending on the situation a conference finals appearance or NBA finals appearance is not out of the question.

Washington Wizards
C - Javale McGee (80)
PF - Andre Blatche (75)
SF - Danny Granger (80)
SG - GOLDEN FRIEND (91)
PG - Doug Francis (62)*
SANCTY'S PREDICTION - Last year I said "Washington is in real trouble of making Wall and Friend walk eventually." I was right about Wall. WSH are improved on every position except the replacement of Wall with the rookie Francis. Maybe they get a number one pick and have a ton of cash to spend to create a big 3 of their own in WSH. I'd doubt it though.

PRE-SEASON POWER RANKINGS

1) Charlotte - 3rd straight year in the top ten. I could see them actually making the post-season this time
2) Chicago - Back to back years at #2
11) Utah
3) Philadelphia - Last year NBA.com had them at 4 while I had them out of the playoffs. I was right. I'm right again this year
5) Memphis

6) Indiana - Up 11 spots. The best kept secret in the NBA is out
7) Miami
8) New Orleans - Up 21 spots from last year. Melo's gonna be a big deal
9) Sacramento - I see a much greater drop than the 5 provided by NBA.com
10) Oklahoma City

11) Atlanta
12) New Jersey
13) Detroit - 2nd straight year predicted at #13. I want to believe it!
14) Los Angeles Clippers
15) Orlando - This is their floor

16) Boston
17) Los Angeles Lakers - Up 11 spots. I think this may be the year they fall out of the Top 8 in the West.
18) Minnesota
19) San Antonio - The champs get no respect. Then again they were predicted at #26 going into last year...
20) Golden State

21) Cleveland - Last year at #16, I said "Up 11 spots. Don't see it." They went to the NBA finals.
22) Milwaukee
23) New York - 2 straight at 23
24) Dallas
25) Denver

26) Phoenix
27) Washington
28) Houston
29) Toronto
30) Portland - No idea why they dropped 20 spots

I'd like any of the Rajahiite SF to make their way to Utah with me.

The missing piece I think.

HODGEPODGE

Kris Destiny still holds the Denver record for Free Throws made in a Reg. Season game (20)

Travis Williams holds the Indiana records for Total Points (48) and Field Goals made (18) in an NBA playoff game

I wonder a couple things. Why we're so foul prone and why being a coach is such a hot seat in this league.

Absolutely crazy.
