What are you all looking forward to over the Christmas period?

I noticed there's a new episode of Shooting Stars being made. So that or Jonathan Creek.

Considering I didn't really like it first time around, I thought the Royle Family Christmas Special was excellent.

And I didn't know there was a Jonathon Creek special on, I watched a few on UK Gold last week and they were sweet...I see it's New Years Day. Result!

Oh, and I know it's pretty niche, but the new Rab C. Nesbitt was fucking immense

Crock of shite.

I read in the paper on Sunday that out of an entire episode of Rab C. Nesbitt with jokes about cremation, muslim converts, suicide bombers and Gregor Fisher naked, the one complaint they got was because they called Gordon Ramsay a hun. Fucking Rangers fans, can't handle humour.

I enjoyed Shooting Stars tonight but how much weight has Matt Lucas put on. Whale. I don't know who the troll thing next to Ulrika was but she was awful and rather thick. Dizzy Rascal does he always talk like that? I don't think I'd be able to talk to him for much more than around a minute without wanting to stab him in the face.

Hope it comes back properly for a new series, the highlights thing on before it was class :D

I'm going to assume this will be the start of a new series, because I see no reason why Will Self and Johnny Vegas would do the show beforehand and not do the actual show, if it's only a one off.

Sounds like UK Christmas telly is pretty good.

The only decent Christmas show we have (Spicks & Specks special) was on last night and was quality. One of the highlights had to be Cal Wilson dressed as a shepherd greeting Adam Hills in German, and he responded in German. Completely oblivious, he asked why, and she just looked at him and said "I'm a German shepherd, Adam."

Other than that, fuck all on telly. Highlight will be the NBA double header early on Boxing Day (Orlando/Boston and LA/Cavs) followed by the cricket

When he's good, he's really good. When he's bad he's fucking annoyingly bad. That's always been the problem with Brand.

The Royle Family was absolutely brilliant. Gavin And Stacey is just a bit sad now, this series has had a really depressing tone throughout.

Glen
December 25th, 2009, 7:29 PM
Royle family was good, but, if anything was to be to its' detriment, the repeating scenes went on just a bit too long. Pissed all over last years though. Gavin and Stacey was ok, the New Years one is bloody fantastic though. Catherine Tate was pretty good too. I'm not a fan normally, but some of it made me laugh quite a lot.

Hlebsfall
December 25th, 2009, 7:42 PM
Royle family was shit. Was better than last year, but then that was fucking atrocious. Gavin and Stacey was alright, but suffered in that they seemed to forget to put any jokes in it. I watched about 10 minutes of that Catherine Tate thing, it was embarrassingly bad. Nice one BBC.

I don't even watch Eastenders but it was on last night and I ended up hooked. The audacity of having so many suspects was hilarious. There were about ten weren't there? I really hope it's Ian Beale but it blatantly won't be. They should pull a WWE-style stroke and make the murderer someone completely left field. Robbie Jackson or something.

Simon

Can't be Phil, he's always trying to kill people but never manages it. If the police did their job properly and checked the Queen Vic statue for prints it could be any one of about a hundred people considering that fucking thing has been used to kill fucking loads of people. Whichever of those three women killed Dirty Den would be suspects for a start.

My guide to the Christmas telly 2010. From 18th until New Years Eve. Get yourself prepared with your sky plus (or alternative. Hobbit still uses a VCR according to his mum). Not putting the movies in because chances are you've seen them. Let me know if I've missed anything good out.

Oh yeah and I like really shit telly, so don't expect to like half of this.

18th December:

Soccer AM - Sky Sports 2, 10am. Not watched this for a while, but it's normally OK dependent on what guests are on.

Football - Sky Sports 2, 12:30pm. Sunderland vs Bolton.

Football - ESPN, 4:45pm. Liverpool vs Fulham

The Cube: Celebrity Special - ITV 1, 7pm. An OK show. Got Joe Swash and Kelly Osbourne on though :yuck:.

Strictly Come Dancing - BBC 1, 7pm & 9.05pm. Normally some decent looking birds. It's live so there tits might flop out. Who knows?

Take Me Out - ITV 1, 8pm. It's light hearted but a bit shit.

Kirsty and Phil's: Pefect Christmas - Channel 4, 8pm & 9pm. Double Bill, I think it's a repeat. I like them on location X3, but no idea how they are qualified to tell me how to cook turkey.

Have I Got A Bit More News For You? - BBC2, 9:15pm. Extended version of the show from the week. Not sure why anyone bothers with the shorter version to be honest.

QI XL - BBC 2, 10:00pm. See above.

The Million Pound Drop LIVE - Channel 4, 10:05pm. Last in the series so maybe they'll give them easier questions so they can win?

Russell Howard Live: Dingledodies - BBC 3, 10:05pm. Save yourself 5 quid on the DVD.

Match of the Day - BBC 1, 10:25pm. Football!

Believe: The Eddie Izzard Story - BBC 2, 10:45pm. Documentary on his rise to fame, could be interesting if you are a fan.

Sting: Live in Berlin - ITV 1, 11:20. NEW apparently. He has some decent tracks, could be OK.

19th December:
THE ASHES: Australia vs England - Sky Sports 1, 2:30am. Mental time to stay up until 10am, but give it a go!

Top Gear - DAVE, 1pm until 6:30pm. 4 different specials culminating in the Bolivia one

Football - Sky Sports 1, 1pm. Blackpool vs Spurs followed by Chelsea vs Man United.

Jimmy's Food Factory - BBC 1, 5:30pm. He tells you how they make certain foods and has a go himself. It's genuinely interesting.

100 Greatest Toys with Jonathan Ross - Channel 4, 6pm. Quite why he needs to be name checked in the title I don't know. Countdown style show on for 3 hours.

Sports Personality of the Year - BBC 1, 7pm. Tony McCoy or David Haye I reckon.

The Apprentice - BBC 1, 9pm. The Final & You're Hired. 2 hour series finale.

River Cottage Christmas - Channel 4, 8pm. Learn how to cook squirrel bollocks for Christmas Day. Probably.

Come Rain Come Shine - ITV, 8:30pm. Drama staring David Jason.

Accused - BBC 1, 9pm. Good little drama series this. Each one is different but everytime someone is ACCUSED and ends up in court.

Jamie's Best Ever Christmas - Channel 4, 9pm. I like him for some reason.

Ruth Jones' Christmas Cracker - BBC 2, 9pm. Apparently she's been given a chat show. Guests are: Gervais, Miranda Hart, Will Young.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man - Channel 4, 10pm. Cheryl Cole is on it. That's enough reason for me.

A Question of Sport - BBC 1, 10:35pm. Quite why it now is on late at night is beyond me. Maybe Sue Barker gets fucked by Tuffnell.

Omid Djalili Live in London - Channel 4, 11:40pm. No need for the DVD.

21st December:

RAW - Sky Sports 3, 2am. WRASSLIN.

Frankie Boyle's Tramadol Nights - Channel 4, 10pm. It's a bit weird and hit and miss. But I like him.

Mock The Week - BBC 2, 10:05pm. Christmas Special. I think that's code for; Clip Show.

Christmas with Gordon - Channel 4, 8pm. Gordan Ramsey makes a show out of the new book he has out (coincidence!) and is unbelievably on at 8pm.

It's Paul Burling - ITV 8pm. Remember the guy who did impressions of Harry Hill on Britain's Got Talent? Well he has his own show now, apparently.

The Comedy Annual 2010 - ITV, 9pm. Hosted by Pip Schoffield, comedians applenty apparently.

Little Crackers - Sky 1, 9pm. Sky are showing random comedians memories of Christmas recreated. Bill Bailey and Jo Brand.

24th December (Christmas Eve):

Coronation Street - ITV, 7:30pm & 8:30pm. TRACY BARLOW RETURNS!
My Family - BBC 1, 8pm. It's shit, but goof for on in the background.

Soccer Special - Sky Sports 1, 8pm. Soccer Saturday Pundits go off and coach under 14s teams.

Paul O'Grady's Christmas - ITV, 9pm. Could be shit and with the biggest selection for the gays; Cilla Black and Bette Midler. Then randomly David Haye :wtf:

Have I Got News for You Christmas Special - BBC 1, 10pm. Always decent.

The Graham Norton Show - BBC 1, 10:30pm. I like him for some reason. I also like how he's a guest on QI to promote his show and also his guest are Matt Smith and Lucas/Walliams who both have Christmas Day shows on the BBBC. Coincidence.

Top Gear - BBC 2, 8pm. They follow the path of the 3 wise men.

Harry Hill's Best of Christmas TV Burp - ITV 1, 8:30pm. Essentially a clip show, but should still be decent.

Match of the Day - BBC 1, 10:15pm. Footy

Steve Coogan As Alan Partridge and Other Less Successful Characters - Channel 4, 11:05pm. Alan Partridge live. What more could you want? I wonder if they'll keep his song in from the end?

Celebrity Mastermind - BBC 1, 8:30pm. With Mark Lawrenson!

Oz and Hugh Raise the Bar - BBC 2, 9pm. 3rd of 4.

Charlie Brooker's 2010 Wipe - BBC 2, 10pm. How long has it taken him to get to BBC 2 from BBC 4 ffs? Anyway, it's happened.

If you wanna watch TV, that's your call right. But I suggest you probably won't.

Anyway;

Celebrity Come Dine With Me - Channel 4, 5pm. Kim (cleaner), Darren Day (sex pest), Claire Sweeny (would), and Tom Conner (dunno)

Kirsty and Phil's: Pefect Christmas - Channel 4, 8pm & 9pm. Double Bill, I think it's a repeat. I like them on location X3, but no idea how they are qualified to tell me how to cook turkey.

I saw her on something years ago, I remembered her being quite cute. I watched Lee Mack's latest DVD and he made a joke about her being fat. I looked her up, fuck me she got ugly.

19th December:

Sports Personality of the Year - BBC 1, 7pm. Tony McCoy or David Haye I reckon.

Why David Haye? I can get him at 80-1, so give me a reason to bet on him. I already have $50 on Swann at 40-1, he's now in to 12-1, and I put $30 on Lee Westwood at 11-1 before he became number 1.

I don't have a gambling problem.

Here we go, my rundown of things that have potential to watch, because I love even the shittest bit of TV. No movies due to the fact everyones seen the good ones as it is. 17th to 30th December...

CBS = COULD BE SHIT.

Saturday 17th December:

Chelsea/Wigan - ESPN, 4.30pm. FOOTY

Winter Wipeout - BBC 1, 6pm. Christmas special of Total Wipeout, I think it's a new course and is normally a laugh

100 Greatest Toys with Jonathan Ross - Channel 4, 7pm. It's a repeat from last Christmas, so watch if you haven't seen it. I think Lego wins, meh.

Top Gear - BBC 2, 7.05pm. Vietnam special, repeat but it's a great one, so worth a watch.

Strictly Come Dancing - BBC 1, 9.05pm. For Mik, and some of the birds are fit innit.

Laughing at the Noughties - Channel 4, 10pm. Look back at the comedy from the decade. One drawback- it's presented by Catherine Tate. CBS

10.30 Match of the Day - BBC 1, 10.30pm. FOOTY FOOTY FOOTY.

Sunday 18th December:

QPR/Man United, Villa/Liverpool, Man City/Arsenal - SS1, 11.30am. THREE GAMES in a row.

Countryfile - BBC 1, 7pm. Now don't laugh, this is worth sky plussing so you can flick it straight to the 50th minute and it gives you a 5 day weather forecast.

James May's Man Lab Xmas Special - BBC 2, 8pm. Christmas special of the fairly decent series.

Home for the Holidays - Channel 4, 8pm. Some sort of family game show hosted by Vernan Kay where a couple makes all their family live under one roof. Could win 500k. CBS.

Brian Cox's Night with the Stars - BBC 2, 9pm. One off special lecture with celebs in the audience including Simon Pegg and James May.

Black Mirror - Channel 4, 9pm. The Entire History of You, last in the three part series from the brain of Charlie Brooker.

Little Crackers - Sky 1, 9pm. These can be a bit hit and miss, last year some where great. It's basically actors/comedians recreating a moment from their Christmas memories. Tonight is Barbara Windsor and Jack Whitehall.

Match of the Day 2 - BBC 2, 10pm. FOOTY FOOTY

Take That: Progress Live - BBC 1, 10.25pm. Who doesn't love a bit of Take That?

Tuesday 20th December:

Blackburn/Bolton - SS1, 7.30pm. FOOTY

Laurence would be a real contender to win if he could just stop having one or two nightmares per round, he wins a couple then looks like he has no idea in an event he should place in, Zavikis looks awsome again this year mind.
