Anyone know the best place for streams?

Please avoid any water based hilarity.

The best one I've ever found is http://myp2p.eu/competition.php?competitionid=&part=sports&discipline=football

Ringo

Nope. Kalou on his own.

Ballack was absolutely excellent today. Well done lad.

Happy with the win despite our dismal first half display.

Looking forward to a Villa win over Spurs now and I'll be a happy chap.

Had a little argument with a friend yesterday about Berbatov and a move to a top 4 club this year, I said that he couldn't play in the Champs League because he's played in the Uefa Cup, and he says they're eligible for Champs League.

What's the craic with that then?

The rule has changed that UEFA Cup doesn't Cup-Tie you for the Champions League.

Andy

Routine win for us. Happy with that, especially with Eduardo scoring again and Ade keeping up his excellent form. I wish we'd pushed for a couple more though, just to get our goal difference back about Man U.

Also, Ramos has dropped King...hopefully a goal fest on the cards. :D

Minutes silence will always be the better option, and you'd think at a game that's not really that heated (not a derby), the fans would be able to observe it well.

Are you talking about the goal?

Well, it looked like KPB was marking Mellberg, he then ran forward to meet the ball as Daws ran backwards to meet the ball, giving Mellberg a free header.

Daws should have been marking Mellberg in the first place and KPB shouldn't have left his man.

Awful defending all round reallty.

We need to start from scratch in the summer, champo style.

Dawson was the one marking Mellberg. Or was supposed to be. He practically dragged him into an offside position, left him and let him wander back onside unseen.

Who do think needs replacing from the first team, Alf?

I'm assuming Robbo and Chimbo. Then a new top class CM and LM..

Well, I'm still undecided about Robbo. Sometimes, like today, he looks like a rabbit in the headlights. But others he looks like his old self. In the end I think Robbo has to be replaced, or we at least need to bring in a keeper who can compete with him.

I've said it for years that we need a much better option in central midfield, maybe even two new central midfielders. We need a proper defensive mid and a more creative player too. Also, we need a left midfielder, I've said that for yonks too. Malbranque is decent enough but he's no left midfielder. The amount he gives the ball away is ridiculous... and he is soooo one footed too.

In terms of defence, I think a top centre back is a must. Right back is a concern for me too. Chimbo, like Robbo is at times excellent but the majority of times he looks like he's tripping over his own feet, and he gives away the ball too much.

The whole team needs a new spine basically.

I disagree. Lennon with his pace should be able to take on players and get crosses in, and Jenas gets far too much stick. He does a job for Spurs.

All Lennon does is run at defenders, and on the rare occassions he beats them he just runs to the goal line and whips a cross in. I can't remember the last time he got an assist and he never cracks defences with good passes or anything.

Jenas is a solid worker, but he has no creativity either. He works hard, gets stuck in, but he is an average player.

Chelsea have been terrible in the last 3/4 games. I wish the commentators and pundits would recognise that they don't have a right to automatically be loads better than everyone else just because they're 'a top 4 side'. With the amount of injuries they've got teams should be looking to beat them.

I know, we were shit first half, we had the ball alot but never really attacked, at 2-1 we sat back but had no danger because Fulham just aren't any good.

A half decent team would have got at least a draw.

It's apparently for 'a' clothing range, A-Stars or something.

1_Pablo_Angel
January 2nd, 2008, 7:32 AM
How it began

A-Star is the brainchild of Fitz Hall, Andy Johnson, Ken Bonsu and Ronnie Wilson, and was set up with the aim of encouraging young people to express themselves in a positive manner and to make it possible to be around role models who do not glamorize crime, guns or drugs. With the death rate among teenagers increasing Fitz and Ken wanted to do something.

As an example, based on one survey, a worst case projection indicates that 60,000 young people (predominantly male) may be stabbed and injured in the UK each year, whilst a rather more conservative estimate could be 22,000. The discrepancy in the two figures should not really be surprising as the figures were derived from the questioning of around 600 under 25 year olds, who were asked whether they had been knifed or stabbed, and then extrapolated to provide a "National Statistic" (Governments Offending, Crime and Justice Survey - OCJS).

Whatever the actual numbers, it is clear that the persons most likely to be at risk from knife violence are; young, black or Asian males, living in high crime inner city areas, ...but as is all too evident from the events of the last year, young or old, ordinary citizens, solicitors, police officers, etc., no one is exempt!

Source: http://www.insight-security.com/facts-knife-crime-stats.htm

So the name A-Star was chosen (A-Star=every child is a star) which fits in with the government initiative “Every child matters”

With those core beliefs in mind and heart. The guys set up a unique company that hopes to offer real opportunities for young people with a wide ranging choice of activities to participate in and hopefully gain employment in a chosen field.

Objectives

Is there a need for this

The need for a company such as A-Star is of vital importance.

A-Star offers a chance for individuals to shine and showcase their hidden talents through the unique football tournaments A-Star have devised.
Through these games grassroots foundations will be laid that will have a long lasting effect on the participants; our aim is that young people will come away from the tournaments and activities with a sense of dignity and achievement to ultimately become role models in their own community, which falls directly inline with the independent Reach report which was commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government which stated that it will call for the creation of a National Role Model programme to give the youngsters figures from their own community to look up to.

Aims:-The Aims of A-Star are as follows

The participants should gain a new respect for the following key issues:
• Creating role models for their own community
• Understanding group/team identity
• The intense effort involved being in a team/group
• The role of different skills and interests and how important they are
• The challenge of overcoming preconceptions about what they want from an experience of this kind
• The experience of working in new ways, and with new people
• The excitement of the creative work involved
• The thrill of public performance
• Responsibility
• Job creation

Ethos

Core principles

A-Star members are fiercely committed to working with young people and making a difference in their lives.

Co founder Fitz Hall believes “This is a great chance for professional footballers to truly give something back”

England Under-21 left-back Leighton Baines quote ”Kids can come out from their local neighborhood and win the A-star contract.

It has been said many times before but this is not pretentious rhetoric. The difference here is that the footballers have not been forced in anyway to contribute their time to be a part of this.

This project comes from the heart of the footballers themselves.

The players are featured in a promotional DVD that gives the viewer a glimpse of AStar. Emile Heskey, Micah Richards, Leighton Baines, and A-Star Co-Founder Fitz Hall to name but a few are fiercely committed to this cause.

The distinguishing character or sentiment of A-Star is to influence young people to be the best they can be and to realize that they themselves are stars.
Whether that star is a community leader, spokesperson, manager, footballer, singer/musician whatever sphere or walk of life the young person may come from the mantra of A-Star is that we believe that every child is a star.

A-Star is a global project put together by a group of privileged Individuals who believe they can make a difference please join us on the journey.

All the best

Ronaldo's racing a car :wtf:

CRISTIANO RONALDO has finally met his match — in one of the world’s greatest supercars. And now he wants to buy one.

The Man Utd flyer donned a pair of Nike boots to pit his speed against an £800,000 Bugatti Veyron in the new ad for the footwear giant.

But with the mean machine capable of 0-60mph in less than three seconds — never mind a 253mph top speed — Ronaldo had to have a head start during filming at a race circuit in Cheshire.

Ronaldo was so impressed he now wants to sign the Bugatti for his team of motors, which includes an Audi R8 and a top-of-the-range BMW and Porsche.

A source at the circuit said: “Ronaldo wanted to know everything about the car — we think he wants to buy one.

“The whole premise was the comparison between one of the best players in the world and the fastest thing on four wheels.”

Bags of potential, and I reckon Leciester will end up being just another stepping stone before he ends at a mid-table Premiership side.

Also sad to see him go because he's one of the very few young players at Town who isn't an absolute dickhead off the pitch. Ryan Gilligan, in particular, likes to consider himself a big-time charlie on nights out and it's only a matter of time really before he gets his head kicked in.

Close.

He was negotiating with Birmingham, but his agent was an obnoxious cunt, and when given a tour of the training ground and told what the training regime was like he said something like 'We don't do that much running at Spurs' (which says it all when you consider the amount of fitness and diets Ramos has the players on).

He basically thought he was too big for Birmingham and only showed up to negotiate because we made him. So, Bruce cancelled the negotiations. Since then he's trained in Egypt.

His issue was with the lack of technical training in favour of fitness training, rather than just not being arsed with running. You only have to watch him play to know that he's far from lazy.

I was disappointed to see his Spurs career end so quickly, he looked like he could be a good player. Good engine, good passer and the best crosser we had at the club...his only problem on the pitch was occasionally trying too much, he'd ignore the easy pass in favour of something more difficult - a lot of the time he got the pass right, but when he didn't it caused problems.

Following on from Alex Ferguson bitching about the atmosphere at Old Trafford during the Blues game, a ManYoo fan on the Villa boards has posted some pretty interesting thoughts on the issue.

Fergies original comments

anchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson compared the Old Trafford atmosphere to a "funeral" during his side's 1-0 win over Small Heath Alliance.

Ferguson noticed the lack of voice from the 75,459 crowd after watching the match from the directors' box as part of a two-match touchline ban.

"That was the quietest I have heard the crowd, it was like a funeral," he said.

His comments come seven years after Roy Keane famously dubbed the Old Trafford crowd as the "prawn sandwich brigade".

Carlos Tevez's 25th-minute winner ensured the reigning Premier League champions began 2008 with a victory, but Ferguson was clearly unimpressed with the crowd's role in his team's performance.

"The players need the crowd sometimes but the atmosphere inside the ground wasn't good," said the Scot.

"There are some situations when we need them to get behind us and give us a lift."

Former Manchester United captain Keane made headlines in 2000 when he laid into sections of the Old Trafford crowd, claiming they couldn't "spell 'football', never mind understand it".

He later insisted that he was referring to the crowd in general, not just United's corporate fans.

And Ferguson has complained on previous occasions about the lack of atmosphere at Old Trafford.

"I think there have been days like this in the past," said the Scot. "It happened some years ago, when we were dominant.

"The crowd come to be entertained but sometimes we need them to help us get the right kind of performance."

And the thoughts of 'lemon', a season ticket holder that occasionally posts on our board:

Oh look, it's socialist fergie, back to spout more bullshit.

Seriously, what world is that idiot living in?

You stand up to get a song going, the next thing your arm is behind your back and you're being marched out of the ground along with your Season Ticket. £700 down the drain because you won't be getting the fcuker back.

Singers are spread out all over the ground. Appeals were made for a singing section in the lower tier of the Stretford End. They got rejected because there is a corporate section in there. Did 'working class hero' Fergie throw his weight behind the idea? Did he fcuk.

Did Captain Fergie ever back the fans in the Glazer takeover? Did he stick up for us when the price rises were brought in? (44% rise in 3 years)
Does he appeal for prices to be lowered or a section to be brought in for local kids? Ha!

They bring in the Automatic Cup Scheme. Thousands of locals give up Season Tickets which have been handed down through generations. They are replaced by Day Trippers and corporate twats on a jolly. Where was Fergie and his atmosphere brigade when this was happening?

So, you'd think Fergie would take his head for a shit until he understands the way United fans are being treated at the minute. We are facing our toughest period as fans. To say the hardcore fans are being treated like shit is the understatement of the century.

Makes you glad to support a club that seems to care about, and listen to its supporters a bit.

I'm pretty hopeful it wont.

We've never sold our ground out consistently. The main 4 clubs around Brum, West Brom, Blues, us and Wolves get a combined attendance of around 100,000 a week. The size of the city doesn't equate to numbers of football going public like in London for whatever reason, so the likelihood of ticket demand exceeding/getting close to supply capacity isn't as high.

Plus when we redevelop the North stand we'll have another 10,000 seats in the ground.

Also there's the fact our prices haven't gone up for 3 years and in many cases have been reduced, plus the attitude of our owners to engage in open dialogue with fans at every opportunity.

Obviously this could all be a dastardly trick and they're going to sting us for everything they can get soon, but I've seen nothing to suggest that's likely to happen.

Our stewards are pretty damn good btw. Away fans can stand throughout without getting done, so can everyone at the back of the upper Holte and a good proportion of the Lower North. Long may it continue.

It won't be long before your club goes that way too.

I've never heard of anything of the sort at The Stadium of Light.

Alf
January 2nd, 2008, 4:43 PM
Give it time.

At ours its the council putting tons of pressure on the club about people standing. It might not be as much of an issue at villa and sunderland. I.e your council don't give a shit.

Makes you glad to support a club that seems to care about, and listen to its supporters a bit.

I wonder what Matt E, KMH, Turdy and Hutch, etc think about this?

Also you bastards had better stay off our bloody pitch this year when your inevitable 92nd minute winner goes in on Saturday. Unless you're in the upper tier, of course...

It all depends where you sit at Old Trafford really. Whenever i've sat in the Stretford End upper I've been stood up for pretty much all the game as that's where the 'proper' (Peter) fans are. The South and North stands just aren't worth bothering in, the East Stand will sing a bit, but it's shit because you're sat down. I've not seen anyone chucked out for standing up, but then again people usually sit down although rightly frustrated as soon as a steward says something.
The problem isn't the stewards really, it's the shit fans who don't like people standing up. 1 person stands up on his own, and people behind moan so it's fair enough for the steward to tell them to sit down. You also feel like a bit of a prick standing up on your own trying to get a song going as well, unless you're pissed. If a full section of people stood up and started singing, shit fans and stewards would be pretty powerless about it, and the shit fans would either have to carry on sitting and not see anything, or stand up and join in.

I hardly think thats a fair statement to make.

I'm fucking sick, I literally cannot explain how frustrating it is being a Sunderland fan. We go away to a tough team to play, work our arses off in the game to try and get an easy chance. Take the best of the play, graft hard enough to be the better team and to deserve the chance when we finally get it. Cant possibly be an easier chance, a fucking penalty which once again, as we always do, we fucking miss. In my entire lifetime as a Sunderland fan I know that I've seen us miss more fucking penalties than score. That is ridiculous and I'm certain that its true. Its not flipping a fucking coin, its putting a ball in a virtually empty net. All you have to do is kick it hard or find a corner and its a goal. Yet time after time after time again we dont score them. Its not that the keeper pulls off a miraculous save, we fluff the fucking thing, kick it straight to the goalkeeper.

As if that wasnt bad enough luck. Desperate for the 3 points, in a position to put ourselves in control of taking it. Yet no, we dont just give up the two points, we give them a fucking penalty and see ourselves lose them all (lets be honest, thats what is going to fucking happen now).

I hate football. I HATE football. I fucking hate being a Sunderland fan.

hahaha, go on Titus.

Faye had another great game and we looked worse when he went off. One thing I did notice was a lack of communication between the players.I often saw two players running for the same ball or missed passes etc. I wonder if the language barrier took its toll. We played well at times though.

Most people are saying that if we lose at Stoke then Allardyce will be gone. It would still be stupid and I can't see it happening. Ashley will probably wait till the end of the season then sack Sam if he hasn't done the business or just sell the club.

Saying that, we still have a few tough games to come soon and unconvincing performances and results could mean the end of Sam. There have been mumblings of a Shearer and Keegan partnership but I think Keegan has said he doesn't want to come back into pro football. In conclusion, I don't think Sam will be going anywhere at the moment.

Watch him go and get sacked tomorrow morning now.
