View Full Version : PaintMeBloodRed Plays King Of The Mountain

PMBR
May 2nd, 2006, 3:44 PM
This is a new game that will be a mixture of many that you may have played before. The game calls for 16 players and a host. I will be hosting the initial version of this game. I have pulled together elements of many popular games (Survivor, The Inferno, Trivial Pursuit and more) to create an all new game in which you will decide who is King Of The Mountain.

This is not just one game that will be repeated over several rounds. This game will include several mini-games in which you can score points.

The game will begin with 16 players. There are no teams, but there can be alliances. Each person will be competing for individual score and will be ranked accordingly. Tiebreakers will be explained in the event that they happened. Tiebreakers will be game specific, so there will be no universal rule for how ties will be broken.

After each round, the rankings of the remaining players will be posted and the 3 highest ranked players will then decide which player in the game should be eliminated. The top 3 can vote out anyone left in the game with only two exceptions:

Players who tied for the top 3 but lost the tie can not be voted out if there are players with lesser scores.

Players who have currently won immunity can not be voted out.

The votes from the Top 3 MUST be unanimous. If there is no unanimous decision from the Top 3 by the end of their time limit, a member of the Top 3 will be eliminated instead.

The Top 3 will individually send in who they feel should be voted off to me via private message. If there is any discrepancy between the Top 3, their votes will be void and one member of the Top 3 will be eliminated.

The last player remaining in the game will be crowned King Of The Mountain.

Like I said, this game needs 16 players to start. Who wants to play?

First challenge will be up in a few minutes.

PMBR
May 3rd, 2006, 6:41 AM
The first challenge in this competition is a trivia contest. There is a 24 hour time limit to this round. Any submissions sent in after 6:35am EST tomorrow will be disregarded and you will get no score. There are 10 questions all based on the WWE and all answers that I found online in 10 minutes or less. Know your resources and find them. The ranking system for this game will be based on how many questions you got correct and the order in which your answers were submitted to me.

There is no penalty for leaving an answer blank, however, there is a 2 point penalty for a wrong answer.

Each correct answer in this game will be worth 2 points. In the event of a tie, we will have a tiebreaker question.

DO NOT ANSWER QUESTIONS IN THIS ROOM. PM YOUR ANSWERS TO ME.

The immunity challenge question for this round can be answered in this room. The question for this rounds immunity challenge is: "In the Second Annual Wilfred's Debate, what was TapOut's first arguement against?" First person to answer that correctly can not be voted off in this round.

Here are the 10 trivia questions for this first round:

1. Name every member of the Four Horsemen to be #1 in the PWI 500

2. What arena was the 2001 PPV “Invasion” held at?

3. At Badd Blood 2004, what special event did Randy Orton say the next night was?

4. What 3 wrestling legends helped prepare Mankind for his title defense against The Rock at 1999’s PPV Saint Valentines Day Massacre?

5. TNA’s Kenny King was featured on what season of WWE Tough Enough?

6. In the finals of 1997’s Intercontinental Title Tournament, who did Owen Hart defeat to become the new Intercontinental Champion?

7. Who bailed Steve Blackman out of jail and brought him to the WWE to replace an injured Del Wilkes on a Survivor Series team?

8. Who did Bradshaw defeat in the semi-finals of the Brawl For All tournament?

9. Who eliminated Matt Hardy from the 2000 King Of The Ring tournament?

10. Who did Shelton Benjamin beat at New Years Revolution 2006?

Should The Undertaker still be pushed as a main event player?

TapOut - No, given his condition and age, he should not

10 answers have been submitted. 4 hours left. It appears that we may have 7 players to not participate in this round. That will DEFINATELY be a factor in the next game. I plan to post the player standings at 7am EST and give 24 hours to the top 3 to deliberate and decide who will be eliminated from the game.

There were a few of you who didn't seem to understand that a wrong answer cost you points. These points are cumulative and will last until the rest of the game. Here are the standings after the first round. All players with zero points did not participate in the voting.

The RED players are the top 3. The LIGHT BLUE players have immunity from elimination.

Wolferine, Pompeyduck and Mr.Nobody, you have 24 decisions to make your UNANIMOUS decision about who will be eliminated from the game. Remember, if it is not unanimous, one of you will be eliminated instead. All 3 of you must PM me your decision and then I will post the results. If I do not have all 3 of your votes by noon tomorrow, one of you will be eliminated.

Mr_Nobody
May 5th, 2006, 6:17 AM
Hey Red. I just tried to send you a message, but it's saying I can't because you've exceeded the maximum number of messages you can receive. Seeing as how I'm about to go to work, I won't be able to vote by noon, however, we did agree on the voting and it was unaminous, so my vote was for the person they voted for.

PMBR
May 5th, 2006, 7:45 AM
Sorry guys. I didn't realize I had hit my maximum number of messages. Go ahead and send me the name who you are eliminating ASAP.

PMBR
May 5th, 2006, 8:53 AM
Thats fine. I'll go ahead and post the next round. I doubt it will happen, but in the event that Wolferine says that he didn't agree, I will change the eliminated player to a member of the top 3. The only reason that I am going to accept it is because my inbox was full. This is the only time I will allow one member of the top 3 to speak for the entire group.

Mikey Jones you have been eliminated.

PMBR

The second game of King of the Mountain is a strategy game.

The way this game works is quite simple. If you want 15 points, all you have to do is send me a pm that says "15 points". That is considered "Pushing The Button". Anyone who Pushes the Button will get 15 points.

If nobody Pushes the button, everyone will get 25 points.

If everyone except for 3 or fewer players send me a message saying 15 points, the 3 or fewer players WHO DID NOT send a message will receive 50 points and the rest will get nothing.

This is a game of strategy and conversing with other players. Predicting what others are going to do and figuring out whether the clues they leave are legitimate. Know your friends and determine who is lying to you.

To inspire you to give clues, each clue that you give will be worth 2 points. You can earn a maximum of 10 points from clues. Your clues do not have to be honest, but they have to be regarding whether or not you are going to "Push The Button".

Obviously, because of the big points involved, you want everyone else to Push The Button, but beware. You may get left behind by not pushing the button. Because of all the points you can earn, this game can completely change the rankings depending on everyones actions. Anyone can make it to the Top 3.

The immunity challenge for this game is to also send me a prediction. Anyone who correctly predicts the actions of at least 10 players (whether or not they push the button) will have immunity in the next vote off. Predictions should look like this:

Holy Hopkins:Push
Wolferine: No Push

Hopefully you get the idea.

You have 24 hours to leave clues and send me a PM telling me whether or not you push the button. Once you send in a PM with your choice, you can not change it.

Players who do not participate can not score even if everyone chooses not to push the button. Even if you decide not to push the button, you MUST send in a PM stating that if you want it to count.

Results and Top 3 will be announced in a half hour. There are a lot of people who have not said whether or not they will press the button. If you don't speicify you can't possibly score.

PMBR
May 6th, 2006, 8:05 AM
The decision to push or not push was made by only 7 players. Because there were not 10 decisions, there is no possible way for anyone to be correct in the immunity challenge, but I will give everyone 2 points for each correct answer they got on their predictions for immunity to make up for it.

Wolferine – Push
Aeida – Push
Canuckin – Push
Slim Shady – Push
Mr. Nobody – No Push
Holy Hopkins – No Push
Fasho – Push

Because less than 3 of the voters decided not to push, Mr. Nobody and Holy Hopkins will get 50 points added to their score. Everyone else will get points based on their clues and their predictions that were sent in.

PMBR
May 6th, 2006, 8:18 AM

I have given 10 points to everyone who participated in that game. There were a few people that left clues but did not submit a decision about pushing the button. They received points for their clues and 10 for participation.

The Top 3 are in Red. You have 24 hours to send me your decision as to who you are eliminating.

Slim Shady

PMBR
May 6th, 2006, 11:41 AM
Ok perhaps I should have explained this a little more. It makes perfect sense to me, but I'll try again and we can play it once again.

Imagine that you are left in a room. You are alone in that room with a chair, a table, a button and a phone. On the phone you can either make conference calls (post on the board where all players can read it) or make individual phone calls (send pms). You are given instructions that explain how to play.

The objective of this game is to earn as many points as possible. There are 3 different ways of earning a large amount of points and 2 ways of earning some smaller points.

If nobody pushes the button that is in their room, everybody wins. Everybody will earn 30 points.

However if you don't trust the group not to push the button, or you want to screw everyone out of scoring 30 points, you have the option of pushing the button in your room. In doing so, you will score 20 points for yourself and everyone else will get none.

There is one catch. If too many people (the number of players who participate - 3) push the button, they will receive no points and the players who did not push the button will be the beneficiaries. In that situation, the players who did not push the button will receive 50 points.

Pushing the button is a good chance of scoring 20 points and leaving your competition behind. However, convincing your opponents to push the button and then not pressing the button can score you 50 points if you do an effective job of convincing them.

There are many different strategies to play the game. Choose which one you think will work best.

2 points for every conference call you make (posts in the room leaving hints about what you are going to do or making suggestions for everyone else to do).

10 points just for participating.

To participate in the game, you must send me a pm telling me if you decided to push the button or not.

PMBR

Mr_Nobody
May 7th, 2006, 5:40 PM
Great thread over there. Actually one of the few good topics I've seen over there in a very long time. However, the reason why people are reporting you is basically because everytime someone says something you don't agree with, you come back at them and try to point out why they're wrong. With only one or two exceptions, you do this in a very well spoken, non-derogatory manner, however, you forget, nobody can really have a differing opinion without drama. I wouldn't worry about it until it happens. Just go about your business as normal...like GET A GAME GOING!!!

The next round:

10 trivia questions

Each question is worth 5 points. Each wrong answer will cost you 5 points. If you don't know the answer, dont guess.

Read carefully. Some of these are made to trick you.

1. On Tough Enough 3, Johnny Nitro had already given himself a character to portray. What was his name?

2. Who was the first person to have differing music for his entrance and exit?

3. What was the first title Ted DiBiase won in the WWF and who did he win it from?

4. The quick release unit used to lower Owen Hart to the ring on the night of his death was not intended for use in the manner it was. What is its intended purpose?

5, Who ended Tatanka's 2 year undefeated streak during his initial WWF run?

6. What is the name of the faction that the wrestler Shawn Michaels wrestled on the first episode of Raw is a member of?

7. Bret Harts youngest brother had a tag team partner with a valet. The valet had a husband who was a pro athlete in another sport. What Wrestlemania did he participate in?

8. At what event did Jacqueline have her first nipple slip?

9. What WWE two superstars did Mercy Drive do the theme songs for?

10. Who did Shawn Michaels lose his first WWE title to?

PM me your answers as always.

The immunity challenge is simple. The player who makes the most RELEVANT posts in the "Analyzing The Industry" thread will be granted immunity. This includes answering questions and discussing the answers of other posters.

This is most likely going to be disputed, but when clarification was asked in regard to the Shawn Michaels WWE Title question, this was the specification I made.

The first title won by him in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment

wolferine
May 8th, 2006, 10:06 PM
Not that it will effect my overall score but this question:

10. Who did Shawn Michaels lose his first WWE title to?

It should be 5 points if they got the answer with the above made specification or without as the question clearly states WWE title not WWF title and like me some posters may have just read the questions and answered them, not going over any of the changes made as they weren't edited into the actual questions...

Just my opinion, but its your game and you are free to do what you want...

Wow, I'm still shocked that the last two trivia contests I actually did good at, because I always suck at wrestling trivia. Although, I missed a few this time around. I completely missed the meaning of Question 6. I just thought you had typed it up weird, but now reading the answer, I'm like....duh!

BTW....I'll be gone all day with work, so don't do anything drastic until I return, but we're still discussing votes, so it maybe later on this afternoon (Eastern Time) before I get my vote to you.

Well if you want to be anal about it, Shawn Michaels never won the WWE title. He won the World Heavyweight Championship.

wolferine

Like I said its your game and you make the decisions, I was just pointing out that the question was worded weird and had 2 interpretations. Also in the rules for the challenge you stated that:

Read carefully. Some of these are made to trick you.

I took the question to mean the first WWE championship title, not the actual title, but the first one he wn under the WWE not the WWF. The PM I sent you with my answer had:

10. Who did Shawn Michaels lose his first WWE title to?
Triple H defeated Shawn Michaels in a "3 Stage Of Hell" match to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

But its not like it matters because I have immunity, just thought that I would point out that to you, sorry for being picky...

The next game for this competition is a 2 part game. Play this strategically because it can come back to bite you in the ass.

As always, you will get 10 points for participating.

The first part of this game is quite simple. Every player can take away 5 points from any two players. All you have to do is post IN THIS THREAD the name of the two players you are taking points from. At that point, that player will lose 5 points from their total score. Be careful though, for every 5 points taken from someone, they are given something in return.

The second part of the game is 20 questions. There is a particular item FOR EACH PLAYER that I have written down. The item will be different for everyone so don't try and give your friends the answer.

Each player will be granted 10 questions from the start to help them guess what their particular item is. Anyone who solves their puzzle will get 100 points and an additional 15 points for each question they had left.

ex: Holy Hopkins has 5 points taken from him from 3 different players. He will get 13 questions to try and solve the puzzle. He solves the puzzle after 11 questions. He gets 100 points for solving the puzzle and 30 points for the 2 questions he didn't use.

If you decide not to use all of your questions but you do not correctly solve the puzzle, you will not get points for the remaining questions.

You have 24 hours to take points from people and I will let you know a particular time that I will be online tomorrow so that I can answer your questions quickly so that this game doesn't take forever.

If anyone doesn't understand how to play 20 questions, say so in this thread before the first round is over.

EDIT - You cant take points away from people who don't have any.

Canuckin has been eliminated from the game. It was the right decision to make considering he was the only option that didn't attempt to play the game last round. We are now down to 5 players. The Top 2 players in the game will decide who gets eliminated for the next 2 rounds.

The next game will be a test of what you KNOW. Not a test of what you can look up. The next game will have a 30 minute time limit. Because not everyone can be online at the same time, contact me at some time when you are online and I will send you the next challenge. You will have one hour from when I send it to complete as much of the challenge as possible.

The explanation of the next competition will be posted shortly. You have 3 days to contact me and get me to send you your challenge. I have posted my screen name and a way to directly contact me via sending messages to my cell phone. Getting ahold of me will not be hard at all because I am very active at these boards and check my pm's very frequently.

The next game is a game of what you know and not what you can find online. For that reason, a 30 minute time limit will be imposed. Let me know when you are online and I will send you your questionaire. Your time limit will not start until I send you the questions and I will not send out the questions until you confirm you are online. The questionaire consists of knowledge in 3 specific areas: Previous gimmicks, finishing maneuvers and WWE competitions.

There are 100 questions to answer. You can earn 2 points for each question. There is no penalty for questions left blank but a 2 point penalty for answering incorrectly. You only have 30 minutes to answer as many questions as possible, so searching online won't help you much. Wasting time searching for answers will only cost your precious time.

To confirm you are online you can use private messages or any of the following methods:
My AOL Instant Messenger Screen Name is: PaintMeBloodRedX
You can send messages to my cell phone by sending messages to AOL Screen Name: FallOfRomeDrums

The next game is a game of thought and categorization. I will name a category. You will have 24 hours to name as many things in that category as possible (up to 100) that will be worth 1 point each. Incorrect answers will cost you 10 points a piece.

There are 3 categories. You can earn up to 300 points, but be careful because wrong answers can hurt you tremendously.

Example: The Category is Fast Food Restraunts:
Answer: Applebee's

That answer will cost you 10 points because Applebee's may be a restaraunt, but it isn't fast food.

Make sure you give full and proper names or your answer will be incorrect.

Duplications will result in both answers being marked incorrect.

Category 1: Bands With 1 Word Names
Ex. Anthrax - correct
The Beatles - incorrect

Category 2: Guest Stars of Friends (Actors/Actresses who made guest appearances on the TV show. Regular characters/recurring roles (5 or more episodes) do not count.)

Category 3: WCW or WWE Cruiserweight Superstars (Do not name a superstar more than once Ex. Billy Kidman and Sick Boy do NOT count as two seperate answers. If you name a wrestler more than once, both answers will be counted as wrong.)

There is no point in having a tiebreaker to determine the Top 2. One of the rules of the game is that a player who ties as a member of the Top 2 and loses the tiebreaker, can not be voted out. Therefore, the Top 2 are safe and the person who loses the tiebreaker is safe.

TLK23 you are eliminated.

We have our final 3.

For the final round, we will be playing hangman for the next week. For every successful hangman that you solve, you will earn 50 points. For every hangman that gets hung, you lose 100 points. These games are all individual, but you all will have the same puzzles to make sure that the difficulty is equal for all of you.

The first hangman puzzle is:

_ _ _ _/_ _ _ _/_ _ _ _ _

Send your guesses to me via pm. I will respond at least twice a day. The more letters you send at once, the better your chances are of hitting successful letters. It will also save a lot of the hassle of us being online at the same time.

Simple answer to lead us into the final round.

The finals of this game will be a decathalon. 10 games will be played over an undetermined amount of time. They will include many of the games already played and some new ones also. Some games will be played in a particular order and you will be able to submit answers to certain games at any time. These games will include:

Timed Wrestling Trivia
Untimed WWE Trivia
Untimed Non-WWE Wrestling Trivia
Rock Paper Scissors
Press The Button
Chess
Categories
Six Degrees Of Kevin Bacon
Hangman
and Jeopardy

The untimed trivia game will be the first game played and will start tomorrow at approximately 1pm EST. I have based that time on the fact that the two of you are consistently online at that hour of the day. You will have 30 minutes to answer as many questions as possible. If that time does not suit you, simply state that in this room and we will find a time that fits everyone.

If the time set for tomorrows competition is suitable for both of you, state so in this thread.

Games that can be played throughout the course of the finals are: Hangman and Chess.

Hangman will be the same game that we have been playing all week. I will continue to send you hangman puzzles and for each puzzle you solve during the finals will earn you 50 points to be added to your total score. Incorrect answers will cost you 100 points. In the finals, you are only allowed 5 incorrect letters that will represent the gallows, head, body, arms and legs. Any incorrect letters after that will result in a loss.

The game of chess will be an actual game of chess in which the two of you will compete against each other. Find any website that allows two users to play online against one another and play a game of chess. The winner will get 100 points. Report to me who the winner is.
