FWIW, it's said that tonight's SD/ECW taping will neither be a tribute to Benoit or have the McMahon storyline.

I remember writing out a post regarding the risky nature of the McMahon storyline in the Sherri thread, basically pointing out that the angle was too risky regarding how suddenly wrestlers die, including WWE superstars.

I never posted it, as it seemed morbid. Unfortunately, wrestlers dying has become part of being a wrestling fan. This is on another level though... It's so bizarre because you have the instinctive reaction of a wrestler death, but then you have to keep perspective over the incidences surrounding the death.

If it's true he killed them both, then I feel no sadness whatsoever. Regardless of what a great wrestler he was.

Yeah and Regal didn't show as much emotion as he has at things like this previously.

Regal's never shown much emotion though. I've seen him on a few of these tributes now (and how fucked up is that, that he's been on a few of them already...) and he's always been quiet and only said a small snippet.

I'm fairly sure if this news had come out earlier, there wouldn't have been a tribute show. But then again, they did air one because they didn't know at the time. I guess that's why it's business as usual for Smackdown instead of that one being a tribute too.

They also said that in the last two weeks, two of Benoit's friends who "wrestled in the ring" have died. I'm thinking they fucked that up, because the only two I can think of are Vince and Sherri. And one of them is not dead.

Maybe they meant to say that Eddie, a close friend, just died in the past 2 years. I'm not surpirsed if they did fuck up on that, though. Chris Benoit was just another wrestler to them. Now had this shit happened to Paris Hilton's family, well, that would be a whole 'nother story.

Nope. But I did say that the lifestyle choice can lead to personal problems. Given the stressful life of being in the WWE, some have commited suicide (von erichs), died to soon (eddie), been through tough divorces, commited spousal abuse (stone cold, flair), and many have gone down the road of drug abuse (jake the snake comes to mind).

People in everyday life, who are not wrestlers, face the same struggles all the time. Your job is no excuse to hurt aynone else.

With that said, I am going to wait out until more information comes out before I condemn anyone, even though that won't make things any better.

"My second cousin is an officer with GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) and what he's heard in his circle is that Chirs Benoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him to rush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday's Vengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage for the death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife's body was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from an alarm clock. The son's body was found in his room appearantly suffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide note explaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his other children (from a seperate relationship), and his fans. He then fashioned a slip-knot noose from rope taken from the garage and hung himself from the ballaster in the foyer of his suburban Atlanta home."

I don't know if this is true but this is something that i've seen.
