Round One:
James said that he wanted to KO Herder and he starts with a hook to the head, Herder tries to counter with a combination but James defends successfully. James lands a combination but takes a hook to the head, neither fighter is taking a backward step so far. James gets trapped but Herder only probes with his jab and can't land a clean shot. James lands a hard jab and Herder is warned for a low counter. Herder lands a jab-jab-hook combination to end a great opening round. |

Round Two:
Herder lands a cross and an uppercut, those shots have Tyson James on the back foot. James lands an uppercut and there is a lull in the action, both fighters know that this one could be close. Herder lands a right hook and circles as he looks for a follow up punch. James lets his hands go and they trade as the bell rings, the referee has to step in to split them up and the fighters retire to their respective corners. |

Round Three:
It's a cagey start to the third round until Herder lands a brutal uppercut, James takes a step back, that hurt! James is trying to use his jab but is being unsuccessful and he walks into another uppercut. James lands a hook and a jab on the bell, that combination will have kept the round close. Round Four: Herder lands a combination and an uppercut, that was slick from the challenger. James lands a cross but the pace of this fight has really dropped, both fighters seem to be saving their strength for killer combinations. Herder lands an uppercut and a hook to the body, he is beating James to the punch more often now. Herder darts around the ring to avoid the champion and the round ends. |

Round Five:
Herder has James gasping with two short hooks to the body, great boxing from "Skywalker". Herder lands an uppercut and rips a left to the body, James is being outclassed at the moment. There is a stand off as James goes ultra defensive, Herder is picking his shots carefully. Herder clinches as James comes inside and lands an uppercut on the break, the round ends, another one for Herder. Round Six: Herder moves away from James hook but takes an uppercut instead, James lands a combination as he looks to take control of this bout. Herder lands a hook but misses with a one-two and eats a big uppercut from the champion. Herder is staggered and James looks to take advantage with a jab-jab-cross combination. James lands a straight left but Herder is doing a great job of keeping away from the champion and the round ends. The expert has it all square at 57-57. |

Round Seven:
James lands a cross and an uppercut but takes a crushing left to the body, nice body work from the challenger. They trade crosses and circle, this is a very close fight. James lands a three punch combination but once again Herder counters, this time with an uppercut. The fighters clinch and the round ends. Round Eight: Herder wants this over, he is going all out for the KO! He lands an uppercut and a cross and James looks to be in all kinds of trouble. James retreats and defends and gathers his wits. There is a sloppy exchange as both fighters miss with wild shots before Herder lands a flush right. James clinches and the round ends. |
